Hardcore Fitness Maniac Hotties for 10/28

Today I did Cardio Coach #5 which I haven't done in a long time. I had to stop after the first sprint in the 3rd challenge because I felt a pinch in my low back. It was there yesterday too, so that worried me a bit. Not sure what's going on there. I did the stretch from GS Legs and that made it feel better.

Despite all that, I had a great workout.

(I did 3 sets, including low ends, not nice ):eek:

Debbie: Good job! I was wondering the same thang too, Where ole where is Lora ? :eek: I hope you figure out that pinch, that's not nice! BTW do you stretch after your workouts?

Morning,

Just a quick workout this morning because cardio seems to help loosen up my arm and is keeping my hand from going numb. Don't know if it just the carpal tunnel or if something is pinched in the shoulder. Anyway I did 4DS LIC including the stretch.

When it rains it pours. My FIL (DH's step father) passed away yesterday. He had cancer too, but was 83. So far this year I have lost 2 cousins, a man that was like an uncle to me and now my FIL.
 
Linda: So sorry to hear about your FIL ((hugs)). I never did LIC or any of the workouts from 4DS, but one and that was the total upperbody. Anywho, was LIC hard to learn? with all that fancy dancy?

Sonya- I am glad your mother is doing well, that’s really good news. BTW, yesterday, your workout kicked butt, Nice work!;)

Ya'll kickin' butt good! Here is my workout from yesterday. I struggled some, but did my absolute best to failure, and you can't ask for more then that. Here it is...

45 second rest between each set.

CHEST
Incline Barbell Press:
75# - 4/4/4
70# - 11
60# - 10
55# 10
Why this is so hard for me I will never never know. lol

Barbell Bench Press:
80# - 4/3
65# - 9
45# - 20 and then did 20 pushups. Hate bench!

Decline Dumbbell Press:
30's - 4/4
25's - 12
15's - 20/20

Incline Dumbbell Flyes:
20's - 15
15's 15


TRICEPS
Weighted Bench Dips:
90# - 8
80# - 12
60# - 15/15

Lying Barbell Extensions:

Kickbacks:
10's - 20/20 (wow, these started off easy as pie and then whoa)

Today I am gonna get on elliptical for 1 hour (I hope) and then work legs with weights before off to work. Post these stats tomorrow.
***I hate kickbacks. The last set was a struggle.
 
Linda - hugs and prayers to you and your family. Hope your arm and hand feel better too. I've had that before - never knew for sure what the deal was.

Teddygirl - I've done LIC - it isn't too bad. Step isn't a fave of mine b/c I'm clumsy and uncoordinated! Once I get a routine down, though, I enjoy it (my knees sometimes hate me though.)

Debbie - sorry about your back. Hope that annnoyance goes away! Good for you for listening to your body. Sometimes I good at that, sometimes not! (Of course, when I ignore it, I always regret it!)

Yesterday was PUB. I try and try to get those pikes down in the ab section. In addition to being clumsy and uncoordinated, I am also NOT limber. I found that using my new toy, the Iron Gym, turned over on the floor gives me just enough to do a full pike!! I could get close without it but just couldn't go all the way. I think being tall doesn't help either. You can also use the Iron Gym in this position for push ups to save your fingers and wrists.

I'm going to try for legs today. DD is home sick and I don't feel so great either, but not horrible. My plan is Spinervals Ultra Leg Conditioning, I think it's called. It is some riding and weights - just got it a few days ago so I'm anxious to try it.

Just a quick check in. I did Sharon Twombly's Athletic Step Jam doing all of the stability ball segment and step and stopped at the abs. I had to take granddaughters to school. As soon as I walked in the door my son called and asked me to go pick up my grandson from school so I had to clean up and get dressed real quick to go get him. I am going to go attempt to get in a lower body weight workout. I will be back in awhile.
 
Char - Nice workout! I'm regretting the weights I used yesterday doing chest work. My right shoulder is sore and in pain right now. Not bad pain, but not a doms pain either. Not good. I need to go lighter, especially with the 20 reps.

Shana - I know what you mean, I use to never listen to my body and I regretted it every time. I'd be laid up for weeks. Now as soon as I feel something not-so-good I just stop. That has probably saved me many unscheduled rest day. :D

This morning I did CC#8 on the elliptical. Tonight I'll do shoulders & tri's. And I'm gonna really try to push myself. The one thing that still hurts my shoulder are dips and I know that dips really helps your triceps. That really bums me out. I still do 'em but I have to stop before my triceps wear out. I can do more if I bend my knees when I start to feel the pain.

Debbie - Great cardio workout and "good lookin' out" in listening to your body, as my bodybuilder friend always says.

Teddygirl - NICE leg workout!!! Yeah, those low ends are NOT NICE!

Linda - Isn't it nice that workouts can help us feel better? And I'm sorry about your FIL. :(

Toasty - I'm with Teddygirl. It doesn't LOOK like it was hard for you! :p I think those kickbacks are hard for you b/c by the time you get to them you've totally fried your triceps!!!

Shana - Aha! So that's why I could never master those pikes. I'm tall. LOVE that excuse. :D Good job on finally mastering it. This Iron Gym seems to be your new best friend! I hope you enjoy your new Spinervals workout.

Diane Sue - Is your grandson sick? You must have some tough immune system! I hope you get in the rest of your workout.

Oh - so far today I have had half of a Carnation Instant Breakfast - which wore off VERY quickly during my workout. I'm getting hungrier and hungrier. Then when I got to work I had oatmeal - the stuff with protein in it (I know, it's the quick kind and I need to make the other kind) and 3 egg whites and 1 whole egg, scrambled. It's 10:25am. I'll have a Myoplex Lite w/small banana in a bit. I'm still at 110 but I imagine that will change as my calories go up.
 
Linda, sorry to hear about your father in law.

Haven't checked in for a couple of days because the bf came to visit. I'm pretty sure I didn't post on Sunday, although I'm too lazy to check, so anyway, I woke up, did some housework, then did 20 min from Tracey's Core Strength and Conditioning and 20 min from 10Min Yoga Solution, then more housework, then chest, back, and shoulders from Amy's Slo-Mo (some sets taken off in the interest of time), then more housework and then bf came over.

Yesterday I wanted to workout after he left, but was too tired. I'll workout today when I get home from my writing lab hours.

Darn! Missed my last meal. I was in a meeting with our PE dept. I want to do a fitness camp for kids this summer. Just a week. I worry so much about the obesity epidemic. The guy I asked for help from has been here 35 years and really doesn't want to take on any more. I know they have all the expertise...coaches, equipment, instructors. He said that it's not really for a community college but that the school district should be doing more. Well, I'm not giving up. I don't have to have his help, but just thought he could recommed some peeps. In the end he knew I wasn't giving up and said he'd help me. Yay me! I know my new buddy the athletic trainer will help me and I know one of our new coaches will help me. And I'll find other people. When it comes to kids and obesity, hopefully I'll get sympathy from them. And my boss, who is a VP is behind the idea, surprisingly! And he doesn't like the guy from the PE dept. who is well below him and he loves to throw around his position. Oh brother! :rolleyes:

Damn, if I lived near you I'd help! I so hate seeing these kids so overweight at such an early age. It is sad.

Today has been a crazy day. My bank called on my atm card again. I had to deal with that. Then I called BeachCody because I thought maybe I had not recieved my dvd because that card is locked down and I am waiting for another to come. But it was mailed and they said they did get payment. I had to sit down and have some cottage cheese and protein powder before I went back and did my weights. Cardio earlier was 1 hr 38 minutes and I burned 728 calories. Weight workout was 58 minutes and I burned 307 calories. Total calories today was 1035

Lower workout was Amy Bento's 10 Minute Solution Hot Body Bootcamp rock bottom sculpt segment then on to the Bowflex and dumbbells

I have to leave to pick up the children in a bit. Having a can of tuna on a salad with fat free dressing and some homemade no salt added salsa.

Suz, I am pretty good at not catching the viruses. I keep up my vitamins and eat well and I think that does help.

Debbie, sorry about the shoulder. Hope you get it under control quickly.

Sue.. Good eating...so far! I hear ya about childhood obesity. Way to stick with it until you got what you wanted! You might also want to contact the local school district's Health Services dept. I bet they would help!
