PN's tuna burger recipe:

3 can light chunk tuna in water, drained (should be 14 oz of tuna after draining)
1/4 cup flax meal
4 scallions, minced
2 T. black mustard seeds (I just used ground mustard)
2 eggs (I used egg whites)
1 T. minced cilantro
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 t. soy sauce
Salt & pepper, to taste
2 t. olive oil (I just used Pam)

Combine all ingredients except olive oil and form two large patties. Pan fry burgers in olive oil over medium heat for about 6 minutes on each side until both sides are browned and the burgers cooked throughout.

Patti, this sounds so good. Do you have any nutritional info on these? I.e., calorie, fat, protein, carb?

Debbie: How do you make your protein pancakes chocolate? Do you just add a little cocoa powder or is there another magic secret?

This is my recipe, got it out of one of the Oxygen mags:

Chocolate Protein Pancake

2 egg whites
1/2 tbsp. cocoa powder
1 tbsp. Nestle Low Sugar Quik
1 1/2 tbsp. low sugar Strawberry or Raspberry jam (preserves, whatever it's called)
2 1/2 tbsp. oats

Mix all together in a blender or Magic Bullet. Pour into hot skillet and cook both sides. Spread 1 tbsp. natural PB on it. Very good!!!!

175 calories; 2.5 g. fat; 10 g. protein; 30 g. carbs. This is without the PB.

Thanks! Wow that looks good- SO doing those after I hit the grocery (because who has Nestle Quick in their house on a regular basis?).

Sorry, forgot the stats. I like those too. :)

As posted with eggs (not egg whites) and including the olive oil, too.

2 servings- each serving is:

Protein: 63
Carb: 14

I got my workout done. Same interruptions today. The baby dumped my whole cd rack over when I was working out. I had to pick up 60 cd's and put them back in their slots

Workout was Low Max and STS Medicine Ball with a partner before I left to the schools. My granddaughter did it with me:)
When I came home I did STS abs with the medicine ball, and weights and plates. I then did all of Lawrence Biscontini's Foam roller workout which was 67 minutes. I wanted to check out the contents of the whole thing. I wish that it had a way to choose chapters. You can do the first part which is w/up and myofascial massage 15 minutes, or the second part with the skip button that is 53 minutes of some more myofascial massage blended with core, pilates, yoga, and stretches. You get combos of massage along with the toning moves. Like balancing but rolling wrists and forearms on roller. He has several places where he works on the carpals. It is pretty thorough. The guy kind of bugs me though and I wish he didn't spend so much time talking and explaining. I eventually just went on doing the move he was doing before he started talking. There are some tough balancing techniques. I liked the standing tibialis move where you put the top of the foot on the roller and roll it back into a reverse lunge and come back up. Anyway I am not sorry I purchased this. I think I got a lot of new ways to use my foam roller out of it and know I will use it a lot.
Total calories burned today was 833 55% fat.

Breakfast was oatmeal and plain yogurt with sugar free syrup and 1/2 scoop gold standard whey
Lunch??
Dinner will be the MUscle Chow Taco Salad recipe but I will use chicken this time

Dallys - Enabler! That's all I need is a discounted AOS site! I will be broke for sure! Might do Newport again tomorrow!
I'll be broke right there with you.:D

OK you demanding tuna lovers! I love this recipe because you use ground flax seed instead of breadcrumbs. I also added some red peppers to this and it was good.

Thanks It is on its way :p

Wow! That was fast. Didn't even have time to twist your arm.:p

Looks like this little grandchild is going to be a challenge.;) That Foam Roller DVD sounds interesting. He does seem a titch annoying in the clips though. You would think that there would be more foam roller DVD out there to chose from. I'll have to think on this one.

Back to work...

Oh you guys are the worst enablers! I have been meaning to get a DVD for my foam roller and now you reminded me! Drat. Oh well, it will get more use that way- right now I only know about 3 things to do with it and DS uses it for a weapon.

Diane Sue: Your grand daughter sounds like my son- he is older though, I think. He'll be 2 next month and he is so destructive! It's cute, but can be frustrating. I like that you did partner abs with your grand daughter.

Patti - do you love PN? How does it compare to BFFM?

Diane Sue - how very odd that you would mention that DVD. I was just thinking about my roller today and the fact that it gets very little use, wishing I knew more of how to use it. I will check that one out.

Workout is complete and I have to shoot out of here. I did the new ab STS dvd - the no equipment section - and Spinervals Big Gear Strength - 597 calories - avg HR149 - max HR 180. I think my legs shall be thanking me later ;)

Shana: I don't love PN, but I appreciate it, if that makes sense. I don't think it is practical for me to follow to the letter- carbs (as in complex carbs like sweet potatoes, oatmeal, quinoa, etc.) are only eaten post workout. Um, that means only veggies and fruits after breakfast. That isn't happening. I prefer the BFFM approach of the right balance of carbs, protein and fat at every meal. PN also doesn't count calories-- I work better knowing what I'm eating. I don't know that I will strictly follow BFFM right now either, but I find that implementing the principles is easier. I can inch up on it, so to speak, and still get the benefits as I gradually work it into my life.

Hey Maniacs!!!

I did some ab work on my own today: 60 reg. crunches then 60 to each side for obliques, leg raises and 40 reverse crunches. Didn't do too much as I need to still be careful. Then I went on elliptical:

Burned 539 cals
60 mins
6.6 mi.
In the orange zone for entire time and hitting red zone a few times. Listened to Pink and Egypt Bend.

Went to the chiropractor earlier. He cracked me good. I should start to see some improvement. Then I went back to the Reiki Healer cuz I need to get healed as much as I can. lol. On Tuesday I am going for a deep massage, but I am trying to get in earlier. Thanks for all the well wishes! I think it will work itself out soon from all the healing. hehe

Patti - thank you! I think you have just saved me some cash :p I remember you saying nothing carb-wise after your oatmeal in the morning. If I could just get the cookbooks and the quick meal/smoothie books, I would be happy b/c they do seem to have great recipes. I just cannot pay that much for a cookbook, though, with shipping costs putting it at over $50 when I have a ton of cookbooks at home and frankly, don't do that much cooking!

I ended up having dinner really late. I did have a snack this afternoon of raw almonds and some raisins. Really needed some energy.

Dallys, I know what you mean about more foam roller workouts out there. Right now I have(had, this is the one I broke) Keli Roberts Flexibility for the inflexible and have used it a lot. I have Stott Pilates foam roller workout but it is so easy for the most part. There is a Stott pilates Challenge foam roller that is supposed to be harder, I just bought the wrong one. Just a couple of moves that I kind of like on the one I have. Now the Lawrence Biscontini. I will probably replace Keli's eventually. It doesn't cost very much either. Karen Voight has one but it does not have the myofascial massage in it as far as I know. I was disappointed in the Tracey Staehle's Circuit zone foam roller portion ot the workout because it is way to short, 6 minutes.

Patti, my granddaughter will be 1 this month. She figured out how to pull out the plug covers today. We have the kind with the button in the middle. The thing with the cd rack is I expected her to cry and instead she was laughing and so happy grabbing the cds. You should have seen her trying to pull the gliding discs out from under my feet while I did STS weights and plates abs LOL Then when I quit using them and she could hold them she had no interest in them. My grandchildren like to workout with me:D We have a good time doing it.

Shana, I think Lawrence Biscontini has lots of good use for the foam roller. Keli Roberts is good if you don't want to spend too much money. It runs about 30 minutes.

Hello!
I didn't end up working out yesterday as with this current schedule I mostly do evening workouts, and I knew I'd have to get up obscenely early today, so I just went to bed so I wouldn't do too bad on sleep. I am not used to working at 7 am, but it was subbing, so extra money, and I don't mind dragging my butt out of bed for that.

Tonight (thurs) I did the kettlebell ab workout from Amy's ASCIII before work, and then after work PLB and the abs from Body Max 2.
