Getting Our Licks In!

Happy Weekend!

This week at school I team up with the PE teacher for "dance week". We will do all sorts of kid dances and fun things (ages 5-11) all week and have an after school dance extravaganza Friday. I hope I have the energy to come home and start STS. Huh, hadn't thought of that. Oh well, Friday or Saturday, it's good enough for me.

Renee

that sounds like fun! Tell us how the dance goes!

Ok so yesterday I finally mustered up and did Cardio Fusion in it's entirety! I was tired of it glaring at me from the tv stand! I really had the first part down as I had done the step portion a few times now between Body Max 2 and Cardio Circuit and having done premixes of the cardio only parts so that was super fun and I was really able to give it my all. But putting those Drill Max drills, all 6 of them together at the end was just pure mean!! I was a flop sweat at the end and my effort was pretty lame but I did keep moving and I made it through!

I took a nice leisurely bike ride to the lake with my daughter and a friend and enjoyed some nice bird sightings. Really beautiful.

Got up early to be a driver to Eliza's baseball game which was an hour each way and they got slaughtered! But they kept their heads high and kept smiling! It was the last game of the league and I will be happy to get my Sundays back! The weeks are hectic enough!

I picked up a friend of theirs on the way home to hang out and I got to do Butts and Gutts! My very first Cathe DVD!! When I first did it I threw up half way through it! I was soooo out of shape!! I had to work up to doing the whole thing through! I would do the first half of the standing one day and the second half another day the floor part another day until I worked myself through the whole thing!

It was good to remember how far I have come in my fitness level instead of comparing myself negatively to the 'crew'!!

Happy Sunday Everyone

Rest day today. Awwwwwwwwww.

Kathy Sis, Great job on Dirty 30 on Thursday. Friday's Yoga Mix. Will have to check this out, sounds like a good one to have. Also for Saturday's Total Body Cardio Fix, good job for improving.

Renee
, Great job on Hip Hop Abs Cardio Groove, Cardio & Weights step prmix and Core Max 1 anf for today's Party Rockin 1. Wow you go girl! I'm excited for you to start STS this Friday. Thank you for cheering me on, I need it! LOL Dance Week sounds fun.

Michelle, Great job on today's Cardio core circuit. I think too it's very challenging. Wow 70 degrees, you are so lucky. Can't believe snow and 70 degree weather. How strange is that?

Laura, Great job on Cardio Fusion in it's entirety. Good for you! Not an easy one to do. Congrats on the floppy sweat. I bet it is so nice to get on the bike and watch birds with your daughter and friend. Sometimes losing makes winning that much sweeter for the next time. It will happen. Good sportsmanship on Eliza's part. Great job on Butts and Gutts. Really you threw up? Just goes to show you how far you have come in fitness. Congratulations!

Take care everyone,

Janie

Sunday was Upper Fix. This workout is difficult b/c your just never stopping to rest your arms at all. You just keep going. You really can't lift heavy b/c of the lactic acid buildup but otherwise I feel quite accomplished. Tonight's Lower Fix. I like this one.

Laura: I can't believe that Butts & Guts was your very 1st workout of Cathe's!!!! OM Gosh! No wonder why you threw up. Glad though that you continued to do it. Not sure if I would be all that brave. And to think now your doing the entire workout of Cardio Fusion! Just doing those 6 drills alone from Drill Max is enough for me. ^^^^5's to you! You go girl!

Renee: Have fun at Dance Week. I'm sure you'll be able to fit in STS. Your one strong amazing woman!!

Michelle: Kudos to you for doing Cardio Core Circuit. I rarely pull that one out. Very challenging especially those ab moves. I'll stick w/my 21 Day Fix thank you very much. LOL

Janie Sis: Enjoy your rest day.

I may not check in tomorrow. My cat, Tuxedo has to be put down tomorrow. He suffering from kidney failure. :( This cat is actually my DS's cat & he's not taking this well at all.

Take care ladies,
Kathy

well I can say with certainty that the 6 Drills in Drill Max are way more managable when you do the weight sections in between the Cardio's! LOL they almost seemed easy, well not quite, but certainly more managable than back to back! Ofcourse it was also my third time through them in a relatively short time so that might have something to do with it as well....

Working with private Clients today at the Nederland studio, very windy today, had some cancellations so kinda slow

Janie I am feeling like I need a rest day, body is talking to me or should I say whinning....

Kathy So sorry to hear about your kitty (((((HUGS)))))

STS disc 24, back and biceps, today. Even though I have one more cardio to do, I feel like I am done with meso 2. I am ready for an active recovery week. Very busy at work. I guess that is a good thing.

Laura: I haven't done all of CardioFusion in ages. Good for you!

Kathy: sounds like you are having fun with your new workouts. Hopefully no snow for either of us this week.

Janie: hi fives on your rest day. Hope you enjoyed!

Hi to sister, the dancing queen this week, and to Cindy.
Michelle

Today was All Out Low Impact HiiT Whew! 39 min. of sweat fest. Loved it!

Kathy Sis, Great job on Upper Fix on Sun. Oh No! Having to put down a loved fur baby is so hard! I know. I'm so sorry for the loss you will endure. (hugs to you and DS).

Laura, Great job on Drill Max and doing the weight section in-between the cardio's.

Michelle, Great job on STS disc 24, back and biceps. One more STS cardio to go. Yea! I'm sure you are ready for an active recovery week.

Take care everyone,

Janie

It's Wonderful Wednesday!

And it's been a very busy week at school. Dancing with children all day long on a hard gym floor takes it out of you. I opted to "rest" on Monday with the extended STS stretch. I did 4DS-LIS yesterday and who knows what today will bring...except more dancing. Tomorrow I will be introducing some co-workers to Cathes Basic Step. Maybe I'll turn them on to step, who knows!

Sister must be busy. I haven't heard from her since Saturday which is kind of odd but not unheard of. Hope she is not too busy...ha! That's a funny one! Work-a-holic that she is.

Looks like everybody is busy. Hoping everybody is still finding time to get their licks in.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Renee

I'm glad yesterday is over with. Putting a fur baby down is just torture. I did late afternoon yesterday Pilates Fix to get my mind off of Tuxedo even if for just 30 min.

Tonight's supposed to be Cardio Fix but I really can't stand this one. In the package your given a bonus workout called Plyo Fix which I previewed & like it much better. I'll do this tonight.

Janie Sis: Thx for the hugs. I need them. Good job on your workouts. Your cranking them out.

Renee: I don't blame you for resting after all that dancing. Let us know how your co-workers liked Cathe. I hope they do.

Michelle: I am having fun w/these new workouts all except for Cardio Fix. I liked Plyo Fix much better. What will you do after your recovery week?

Laura: thx for the hugs.

Take care,
Kathy

SJP step premix today.

Kathy: I am so sorry about your sweet kitty. I'm missing my sweet pup everyday; it doesn't seem to get easier. ((((HUGS)))) to you. We're in this one together right now.

Sister: hope you had a good time with your coworkers and basic step. About time ya'll put all those steps to work that Ann has at your school.

Janie: I've been eyeing AOLIH. That's a good one. Might have to add it to my recovery week.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying warm.
Michelle

It's only Wednesday and this week has been tough all around!

Yesterday was my two classes and than I had an entrance interview at a Physical Therapy Assistant Program and I had to do a math test which was really pretty basic math, fractions, decimals, percentages, and simple algebra so I passed with a 87% with out sweating it! Phew! I had to write an essay and had the interview with the Program head. I have to do 8 more hours of PT observation in an in-patient facility and I will have my application complete!

Today I did High Reps which I remembered not liking so much so it had a little of a dread factor (ya'll know endurance workouts aren't my fav) but I actually enjoyed it so that was a nice surprise! Had a long dreary meeting with my divorce attorney.....

Tomorrow she is deposition(ing) my x and it I have to be there so it's going to be a long and emotionally draining day. Than I have a home visit from a Child Family Investigatior ( I retained in the divorce process) and my kids have a morning appointment with them as well so it is going to be a Hell Day for sure.

I haven't gone into a lot of specifics about the divorce because I don't like to talk about it but I know ya'll are keen group and since it is coming up on a year and I am still not divorced clearly it is an unusually ugly divorce. My X has some psychological problems and some chemical dependences that are really worse than I ever imagined and it is making the divorce much harder than it should be...so if you have a moment send me some good vibes tomorrow!!

I am not planning on working out...

Hugs to everyone and high fives" sounds like some great workouts happening and thanks for being there keeping me working out and moving forward

Well it was a long long hard day but I made it through!

And I got to squeeze in Lower Body Blast

I got to tell you exercise is seeing me through this!

hugs to all

Was with my daughter and grandson the last couple of days. Grandson had wisdom teeth pulled and my daughter had an interview to go to. He made it through very well. Tonight I'll do my exercises and post again. It was so cute, this 17 year old heard the doctor tell him some things that could, but not likely to happen and one of the things he remembers (while he was medicated up) was a numbness in his lower lips forever. He says he is a really good kisser and if he lost the feeling of his lips he would have to figure out another way to kiss and impress. LOL Wonder if I should mention this to him one day? So funny :D!

Renee, Dancing with children all day long sounds like fun! I bet you were tired. Great job on Monday extended STS stretch. Much needed I'm sure. Tues. 4DS-LIS and more dancing. Love it when you can get co-workers to work out with ya. Good job.

Kathy Sis, Awwww, I know you must be feeling awful. Hugs to you on this hard day and thinking about your fur baby Tuxedo. Great job on trying to get your mind off this sadness by doing Pilates Fix.

Michelle, Great job on SJP step premix. Hugs to you too and Ripkin pup as well.

Laura, Great job on the two classesand the entrance interview at the Physical Therapy Ass. Program. 87% is a really good score. Good for you. I can't wait for you to do the 8 more hrs of PT observation and finish the application. Keep us informed. Great job on High Reps. I'm with you in spirt going through this awful divorce. (hugs, vibes and prayers your way sweetie). You motivate me as well with my exercises. It goes both way. Thank you for that. Great job on Lower Body Blast. Yep exercise is amazing not only for the body but mind as well. Love ya, you are not alone.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Tuesday was just an awful day & still missing my Tux. So is my DS but it will get better as time goes by.

Wednesday I did Plyo Fix which I liked much better than the Cardio Fix. Its high impact drills for 30 sec. & rest for 30 just like Cathe's 30/30. Last night was Dirty 30 which is compound exercises. I like this one as it moves quickly & before you know it your done.

Tonight's Yoga Mix which is another goodie.

Next week I'm supposed to do 2 workouts back-to-back for one hour. The meal plan changes as well. I have to consume a protein & veggie 6x a day. I don't know if I can do it but I'm going to try.

Michelle: Thx so much for the hugs. House is super quiet now w/out Tux. The workouts help though. Its that short period of time where you can forget. Easier for me b/c Tux was never in the basement crawling all over me. I love that SJP step section. Its fun!

Janie Sis: Glad you had a nice visit w/daughter & GS. That's too funny re your GS!!! LOL

Laura: Congrats on the 87% score!!! That's wonderful. You must feel great. Both HR & LBB are definitely NOT my favorites. LBB hurts my knees. I much prefer Power Hour. Great job you did on both. Sending you all good vibes & much needed <<<<<<HUGS>>>>>>> It will get better soon.

We're expected to get 6-12 inches of SNOW on Monday! Oh say it isn't so!!!!

Take care,
Kathy

Happy Saturday!

Never been more glad to see the weekend come, then I am today! One: dance week is over at school. It was fun but very exhausting. The after school dance Friday earned the PTA over $1000!!! So worth the the hard work, plus it builds community and fosters school spirit and pride. Two: I have about 6-7 co workers who want to continue to step with Cathe!! Three: I start STS today! So, it just doesn't get any better.

Kathy, I am so sorry that you had to gently put your Tux to sleep. That just sucks but it is the greatest act of love we can do for our frail and sick fur babies. My heart breaks for you and DS. It's never easy but time does heal,or numb the loss.

It's the first of March everybody! My two hated months of the year are over. Winter is on the down slide! I'm sure it will try and get in a few more punches but Spring is around the corner. Soon we will be complaining about the pollen and allergies and then the heat. Come on, heat!

Keep up the fight! Get those licks in! Every day is a new day, make the best of it.

Renee

Took another rest day yesterday and did IMAX3 intervals only premix and STS stretch today. I also raked up my yard: I can see sister rolling her eyes. I don't have much of a yard but I wanted to rake up the dead stuff and get ready to put down my first Scott's yard treatment. If I can do that tomorrow, then it can sink in with all the snow we are supposed to get. I hope this is the last snow "hurrah" for the season. DH says it is too early to treat the yard for weeds, but they are already starting to sprout, so clearly it is not too early.

Laura: I'm impressed with your emotional endurance this week. YOU have come a long way in a year; definitely a stronger woman for sure and I'm talking about strength that is deeper than muscle. High FIVEs and ((((HUGS))))) to you.

Kathy: Hope you are having a better end of week. I've been thinking of you and your sweet Tuxedo cat. I hope he found Ripken at the rainbow bridge.

Janie: very cute story about your grandson.

Sister: good job on dance week. The parents come through again for the fundraising and I am sure the kids had a great time. Still enjoying my active recovery week here.

Hi to Cindy-hope you are doing okay. We have not heard from you in a while. Sending good thought and positive energy your way.

Chose today as a rest day.

Kathy Sis, Hugs to the both of you in having to grieve for Tux. I'm so sorry I know how you are feeling. Great job on Wedn. Plyo Fix and for last night Dirty 30. Also for tonights Yoga Mix. You are doing so well. With all the snow coming your way please prepare and be safe and warm.

Renee, Yea for earning over $1000 by dancing. Wow! Also for the co-workers to workout with Cathe. And for starting STS today. Yep, it really doesn't get any better than that. :) Yes Spring is just around the corner and wanting Spring tomorrow! LOL You are great motivation for me.

Michelle, Good for taking the rest day and for doing today's IMAX3 intervals only premix and STS stretch. Also for yardmax.

Take care everyone,

Janie

I put the snow shovel away yesterday: so much for being optimistic. Another dump of snow, sleet, and ice coming tomorrow. I am declaring that this will be the last winter storm. Geez. At least I got my spring lawn treatment down this morning. Should soak into the ground really well over the next week. I figure if we are going to get frozen moisture in March, it might as well give me a jump start on my spring yard care. How is that for positive thinking?

Janie: Sometimes I think that I don't take enough rest days; it is good for me to have inspiration for rest days from others in our group. Lord knows I'm enjoying this recovery week.

Kathy: well, here we go one more time with ol' man winter. Stinks, doesn't it? I'm thinking DH and I should go to Florida for a day or two or three and catch some Nats spring training. Such a tempting thought.

Sister: good job on 40/20 today. You sure were up and rolling early.

Hi to Cindy and Laura.
Michelle

3-3-14

Well woke up this morning to what else SNOW!!! Had to shovel but at least it wasn't much. Mostly New Jersey & down south got it.

I've been busy w/21 Day Fix workouts. Saturday it called for 2 workouts back-to-back. I did Total Body Cardio + Pilates. Sunday was Upper. That was a lot of ab exercises. I was supposed to do Cardio but ran out of time. Went to brunch w/girlfriend. Tonight will be Lower Fix + 10 Min. Abs Fix.

The meal plan will change for days 19-21. Wednesday I'll only be consuming protein/veggies 6 meals a day. Good luck to me!

Michelle: I'm sure Tux is tormenting his brother, Lex in heaven. It'll get better as each day goes by. I can't remember the last time I did IMAX3 intervals only. And you did yard max on top of all that! I think I would've needed a nap. LOL I'll be on the next plane out to Florida. When are we going? :)

Janie Sis: Thx for thinking of me re Tux. I have bouts of sadness whenever I come across toys that are still in the den. I think the feral cats that I take care of are wondering where Tux is.

Renee: Thx for thinking of me too re my fur baby. It gets better each day. Wonderful news on the fund raising $1,000 is amazing. And everybody enjoyed themselves too. Also great news on your co-workers liking Cathe. Will they try her strength workouts? Maybe not just yet. We wouldn't want to scare them away. LOL

Waves to Cindy & Laura!
