Getting Our Licks In!

Did 30/30 today. Walked Rolly on the beach for 30 min. Very cold and crispy out there with bouts of wind.

Kathy Sis, Great job on Amy's Body Box the All Cardio only prem. It will be great to confuse your body and do STS Meso 3. I have a feeling you will be able to do chest presses with heavy weight. The hoarder has many dogs, rabbits, chickens, and several doves. People are helping her out and vets are giving them exams and shot. I was truly not expecting such a sweet person. But she truly is sincere, kind and loving her animals. I'm going to look at the HiiT Low Impact clip tonight. So excited to get them in my hands. When I did the video, please know I was very nervous and have many mistakes. LOL

Take care

Janie

Last night was the last BB workout!!!! It was Arms & I made it a good workout. Have definitely gained more muscle from this program. Legs could be better though. Nobody does it better than Cathe.

Today's my rest day. Ahhh! Tomorrow will do Meso 3 Wk 1 (chest/back) & I'll be using a 50# barbell for the chest presses. I want to see if my shoulder can handle it. Sunday will be M3 Strength for Legs using my squat rack. I'll shoot for 60# bb. If its too light I'll up the weight to 70. Wish me luck!

Janie Sis: Good job on 30/30. Its a cold & crisp day for us here too at 37. Brrr! We missed all the snow that most of the nation is having. How that happened I have no idea. Glad though. We might get a snow dusting tomorrow.

Have a good weekend everyone!
Kathy

Walked around the Bazaar for hours it seems. When I got home with all my purchases, I was pooped. LOL No, I also walked the beach for 30 min. with Rolly and did a 65 min. Yoga as well. Now I really am pooped. Tomorrow night Joey will be playing in his band, so will be dancing for two hours. Can't wait!

Kathy Sis, Great job on BB workout, arms and for gaining muscle from this program. Congratulations, very proud of you. Glad you had a rest day today. Sounds like tomorrow is an intense workout. I bet your shoulder will do just fine. Can't wait to hear about it tomorrow, wishing you luck. So glad you missed that awful snow that came into our states.

Take care,

Janie

Hi everyone--I'm back from another trip to Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. It was a marathon two working days for my study team but it is always great to get out with the young Marines. We were up and rolling both days at 0530 so we could pack up our gear, haul it to the command, and set up to field our survey. Then at the end of the first day, we charged up the tablets and transferred the survey data from the tablets to a central file. Then packed everything up and hauled it back to the BOQ. Day two: same routine, less charging up the tablets (I'll do that this weekend) then drove back to NoVa. Yesterday was a very long day. Didn't get to exercise and I'll probably do a light cardio today just to get my tired body to move and relax. We have the same cooler/cold weather here that Kathy has in NY. The good news is all the leaves are down in my yard and my neighbors so a couple of raking sessions this weekend should get up the bulk of the leaves. Sister will laugh at my leaf-obsession. I have nothing compared to her.

Reading ya'lls post from the past couple of days, I feel like I've been gone for a week.

Janie: ya'll obviously enjoy being at the beach house so staying longer sounds like a good thing. Enjoy!

Kathy: are you done with BB now? Interesting idea to transition over to STS M3. You'll get to see how much you've gained. I like it.

Waves to Cindy, sister, and Laura.

Slept like a log last night. So tired--wanted to sleep in but I was awake at 0630 and wasn't getting back to sleep so upsy adam for me. Got some stuff done around the house this morning (inside--too cold outside), did IMAX3 step interval only premix, then after getting cleaned up and having lunch with my DH, I drove into town to do a little Christmas shopping. And I did VERY little shopping. Got a baby present for one of my young colleagues who is 3 weeks from her due date and one present for my little second cousin, EmyLou.

Hope everyone has had an enjoyable Saturday.
Michelle

Saturday I started the STS M3Wk1 workout (chest/back). For the chest presses I used my 50# bb but could've gone up to 55. After the entire workout my shoulder was hurting a bit. Glad I only used 50#'s. Sunday did M3Wk1 Legs & used 60# bb but in all honesty could've went up to 75. Shoulder didn't hurt at all w/all this weight on my back. After this workout I went & did Great Glutes floor work only section. OMGoodness! My right glute was killing me! Guess it was from all those pizza presses. LOL Tonight's cardio. Will do ROKO the 1st premix.

I definitely went up in weight from using BB. Sagi is the man! LOL

Janie Sis: You accomplished quite a bit its no wonder you were pooped! Not to mention 65 min. of yoga!!! I can't get past 30 min. How was the dancing?

Michelle: Welcome back! You were missed. That sounds like quite a bit of work you have to do. I haven't done an IMAX workout in a long time. Kudos for doing all those intervals from #3. At least you started your Xmas shopping. Sounds like you had a nice time w/DH. I'm officially done w/BB rotation & I must say I gained more muscle as well as getting leaner thx to the Nourishing Gurus. I'm slowly getting back to where I was before my shoulder injury.

Are all you ladies getting excited to receive Ripped w/Hiit? I keep looking at the clips & the UB Circuit one is phenomenal isn't it? My GF & I will be doing one of Cathe's rotations when we receive the package. All of us here should do it together. Can't wait.

Take care everyone,
Kathy

X-10 workout week plus 21-day fit 10 minute abs. This morning was x-10 low impact plus 10 minute abs. Not sure which X10 I will do tomorrow.

Kathy: it's great that you are making real strides with your weight lifting numbers. You struggled with the shoulder injury for so long--or at least it seemed that way. I'm looking forward to the new Ripped with HIIT workouts too. I feel like I need something to give me a kick in my workouts--maybe some new Cathes will do the trick.

Michelle

Last night was ROKO Timesaver #1 premix. I really like this workout. One of Cathe's best kickboxing.

Tonight's STS M3Wk1 (shoulders/bis/tris). After doing BB I'm not used to coupling 3 bodyparts together into one workout. I believe Cathe shifts from shoulders/bis/tris one exercise after another instead of staying w/the same muscle. It'll be interesting to see how much weight I'll lift.

Michelle: I'm not a fan of the X10 workouts due to the metabolic conditioning being included. It would've been better if it was just cardio. You did great w/both workouts. My shoulder injury lasted one year so I give myself a HUGE pat on the back for coming back strong. It was due to Sagi & his many different ways to lift that did it. Perhaps all of us on this checkin will do one of the rotations of Cathe's new RWH together. Wouldn't that be cool! Did Renee purchase it?

Waves to Janie, Cindy & Renee!
Kathy

Sorry I've been quiet, I've been reading though :) Had to leave work early since Lucas got sick at day care, he was a bit miserable with a tummy bug all weekend and then Dave got it and Lily had it mildly. Brodie and I somehow made it out without issue! Other than that I did a lot of laundry, cleaned the house finally, wrapped up Christmas shopping, and organized my stocking stuffers. I now need to get my head into Thanksgiving and what I need to prepare for that!

I joined my day care provider at her workout class on Monday morning and I am feeling my arms. Tonight I'll focus on legs since they aren't talking to me right now.

Kathy - I'm so excited for Cathe's Ripped w/ Hiit workouts, I can't wait and will be doing the rotation she has for it with you :) What a great way to stay in check over the holiday's! I love when muscles let me know the work I did worked!

Janie - What a busy day with walking, more walking and yoga!

Michelle - Early days with those Marines :) an X10 week sounds like fun.

Cindy

Am I bad or what? MIA sucks. I've been walking the beach with Rolly since the weather here has been fantastic. Cold but sunny. And no rotation just more Yoga. I really need to stick with yoga until the new DVD's come. It's working for me. Stretching, body strength...cardio. Been working on stuff to sell at the Gallery. They will

Cindy, Ug, I know when the family gets sick, it's miserable, glad you and Brodie made it through OK. Holidays are upon us. Just seems like all of a sudden. Great job on the workout class on Monday and for your wonderful DOM's.

Kathy Sis, Great job on ROKO timesave 1 prem. It is a really good workout, have to agree. Also for tonight's STS M3 Wk1 shoulders, bis and tris. I bet you will lift much more than you think. Confusing the body like you are and eating protein, I'm sure you will see more gains.

Michelle, Great job on those abs. YaHoo!

Kathy Sis, Great job on Sat. STS M3 Wk1 chest and back. I'm impressed with your weight barbell presses, but glad you only used the 50 # BB. I suggest to lay off big time for awhile. You don't want to re-injure, your body is trying to tell something. I know, that is what my body was doing too, only I didn't listen. Be careful, I know you know what your body can handle. Great job on Sun. M3Wk1 legs and also doing Great Glutes floor work only section. Sounds like Sagi helped you a great deal. YaHoo! Dancing was good, had a great time. So excited to get the new DVD's! Yes all of us should do a rotation together. I'm game.

Michelle, Aw, wished you could have slept in. Great job on IMAX3 step interval only prem. and cleanmax and a little Christmas shopping. I love the name EmyLou. How sweet.

Take care everyone,

Janie

I did Hiit 40/20 last night and boy it kicked my butt! I was sweat, huffing, puffing, and struggling to keep up :) Felt great! My arms are even more sore today so I'm switching around my workout plan for the week and will do Tabatacise. My family is all feeling well best part is Lucas slept all night - which means I didn't get out of bed once!

Off to Service Excellence training this morning, that may be a rough 3 hours!

Janie - Glad the weather is sunny for you. Even if it's bitter cold outside as long as the sun is shining it's not so bad! We've gotten into the low 20's a couple days and crazy kids around here are running around in shorts and t-shirts. It's funny how we acclimate so quickly.

Cindy

Last night was STS M3Wk1 (shoulders/bis/tris). I only used a 35#bb for the shoulder presses & bicep curls. Before my injury I was 45#bb for shoulders & 40#bb for bicep curls. Didn't want to chance another injury. Felt good though for the 4 sets. I even used 15#dbs for tricep extensions which I haven't done in a long time. Felt pretty good.

Tonight will be KCM's Cardio Blast. Not sure which workout though #1 or #2. I'll decide tonight.

Cindy: Glad to hear everyone in the house is healthy again. You sure did quite a bit when you were home w/Lucas. You got a lot accomplished. the 40/20 workout is not a favorite of mine. I too am huffing & puffing through that one. Great job. Can't say I envy you on the Service Excellence training.

Janie Sis: Enjoy your yoga & walks on the beach. I envy your retirement. I'll be doing PiYo for the next 2 weeks. Need to change things up from all this strength training. Glad your having good weather. Ours today is 23 but by Monday 66!!! How crazy is that?

Take care everyone,
Kathy

PS: Happy that all of us will be picking one of Cathe's rotations & doing it together!!!

Yoga again today then a short walk 30 min. walk on the beach with Rolly.

Kathy Sis, Great job on STS M3 Wk1 shoulder, bis and tris. Smart on using a lesser weight until you are sure your shoulder can handle it. Bedsides 35 #'s is amazing for shoulders and biceps. 15 3's for triceps is also amazing. You go girl! That is some crazy weather you have. LOL Enjoy the PiYos this coming week. Yeah, I really do like being retired.

Cindy, Great job on Hiit 40/20 and for it kicking your butt. LOL Good job! Ah, nice you are catching up on your sleep. What is Service Excellence training? Seems like everyone is getting some crazy weather. LOL Can't believe the short on kids when it's cold outside. I see that here as well.

Take care,

Janie

It has been another busy week. My study team is back down in North Carolina but I'm at home getting ready to take my DH for cataract surgery today. Sticking with the X10 this week and 21-day fit 10 minute abs this week. I did x10 Hi/Lo on Tuesday and X10 cardio blast today. Somebody tell me how 12 minutes of cardio can be so INTENSE--wow. I still don't know how anyone gets through all 5 in one workout.

Kathy: sister ordered Ripped with HIIT too. I guess we are all waiting for the new workouts. I'm really impressed with your weight-lifting. Making me wonder if I should check out Sagi.

Cindy: it's hard to keep everyone healthy when you have children. You were lucky not to get sick. Hope everyone can stay healthy now through the holidays. Ya'll have been getting some super cold weather. It is cold here but not as cold as ya'll have had.

Janie: stay strong with the yoga. I'm feeling like I could use a week of stretching and yoga.

Okay--this is short but I've got to pull together my stuff and get ready to roll to the surgery center. I'll try to get back later today.
Michelle

I did Tabatacise 1-2 last night, the night went quickly so I was short on time. Brodie is testing for his yellow belt tonight so I'll be watching him and won't be exercising. I did get up this morning and did PiYo Strength Intervals so I got a decent sweat going.

Service Excellence training was to improve our customer service, nothing new was given to us and I'd like for them to suggest how we provide excellent service to those that are never happy and/or those that come in yelling when we haven't even done anything wrong!

Michelle - I hope the surgery goes well, take good care of your patient!

Janie - Yoga and a walk sounds great, with the soreness of my arms right now (I can't believe they're still sore) yoga would do me some good.

Kathy - Those weights make my arms tired just hearing about them :) 40/20 is rough but I tend to enjoy most of the moves, Pyramid is the one I really don't like. Must be the tuck jumps ;)

Cindy

Yesterday I couldn't get my cardio in due to heavy load of work at the office. It was the last day that my boss would be in before he went on vacation. Also rough commute & got home too late for any workout. Tonight I'll get in the cardio. Thx for the compliments ladies on my weights. I bet all of you lift just as heavy or even heavier than me.

Michelle: I'll be praying for your DH that all goes well w/his surgery. Give him lots of TLC.

Janie Sis: Your body must be wonderful w/all the yoga & walks on the beach w/Rolly.

Cindy: Great job on Tabatacise 1-2. Good luck to Brodie on his yellow belt test. Good job on PiYo.

Did all of you see the clip to the Lower Body + the Plyo Hiit One? These workouts are amazing. I can't stop viewing the clips. LOL

Take care everyone,
Kathy

Quick check-in. Everything went well today with Joe's cataract surgery. No problems--for once a simple procedure went simply. We go back tomorrow to see the surgeon so he can check his work and then back again next week for round two on the other eye. By the time we got back home, had a late lunch, and I did a little work, I was pooped. DH and I both took a nap. It's been a while since I've done that. Did a world of good.

Kathy: you are rocking the shoulder lifts. I can't lift anywhere near that heavy on shoulders. I'm trying to push myself on my weight amounts when I do weight work. Not going up by alot but using my paceweights, inching up 1/2 pound to a pound at a time. I did check out the Plyo HIIT one--looks like a kick-butt workout--should be fun.;)

Cindy: it is funny how we like one workout versus another. I tend to like DWP vice 40/20. They both go by real fast though. How are you liking PiYo? I think that both you and Kathy have that one.

Waves to Janie, sister, and Laura.

Michelle

Did 30/30 today. Sweet and fast.

Michelle, Yeah! So glad Joe's cataract surgery went well. Good job on both your naps. Much needed I'm sure. Continued prayers for the next go around. Predicting It will be good.

Kathy Sis, Very proud of you. No I don't lift that much any longer. For me, not worth the risk being 63 and 64 just around the cornor. My body is better than people who don't work out, but, I'm more careful now and truly don't want to get any more injuries. Takes too long to recover. Before, I wanted to look like a body builder, but reality set in. My goals have changed, I now just want to be in my weight bracket, strong and healthy for my age. I love this goal much better. It's something I think I can maintain for a long time.

Cindy, Great job on Tabatacise 1-2. How did Brodie do testing for his yellow belt? Details please. Great job on tday's PiYi Strength Intervals. Instead of you guys making the customers unhappy, it might be rude customers. Yep, I love yoga, it's working for me.

Michelle, Great job on Tues. X10 cardio blast. I can barely make it through 2 cardios. Yep, I think anyone can benefit from yoga. Truly is a life saver for me.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Tonight I've rounded together some friends to do the Pilates and Wine class with me, for $5 you can't go wrong! I have a few newbies going and some that have gone once before :) Tomorrow I plan to sleep in if possible. I was up a lot last night, Dave was feeling sick all night and up and down for the bathroom and then Lily came in because she had puked, not fun. I need this stomach bug to officially get kicked out of my house! Tomorrow morning I think I'll do Athletic Training and Sunday I'll work whatever part of my body isn't hurting, maybe yoga will be my only option ;)

Brodie was so focused (that says a lot with this boy) at Tae Kwon Do and did such a great job. I was blown away by his running side kick. He's really been paying attention at classes because every question he got called on he knew the answer, I'm sure he'll get it yellow belt. I heard it gets harder once they are trying for the green belt.

Kathy - I don't think I could do your weights you are very impressive! I hate when my plans to exercise get thrown off, it's depressing!

Michelle - I'm so happy his surgery went well :) I like PiYo but not for an everyday thing, it's a good all body core workout and I enjoy supplementing it.

Janie - Nice work on the 30/30!

Cindy

Last night I was just too pooped to do cardio. Will be doing KCM's Cardio Blast tonight. Tomorrow I'll be doing PiYo UB workout. Not sure. I'll check the rotation.

Michelle: So happy to hear about DH's eye surgery. My weak muscle is the bicep. I too have 4 platemates that are 1 1/4#s each. Sometimes that 5# jump in dbs is just too much for me. I'm sure you go heavier on biceps than I do.

Janie sis: Great job on 30/30. Are you strictly doing yoga & cardio? Did you purchase RWH? Can't remember.

Cindy: I sure hope that stomach bug leaves your house soon!! That's awful. I'm sure Brodie received his yellow belt. Have fun at the pilates & wine class.

Have a good weekend everyone!
Kathy
