Getting Our Licks In!

Monday was Step Moves, the last workout in Cathe's October rotation. Tuesday was a rest day and this morning I did Jillian Michael's Killer Abs level one. Going to do some JM workouts for the next week or so just to switch things up.

Cindy: thanks for posting the Halloween picture of your children. So sweet. All 5 Tabatas in Tabatacize is serious business. One day of a little sugar isn't going to do you in--you are not making it a habit just a one day splurge. Welcome back to the work world today. Hope you enjoyed your day off.

Janie: Cardio Fusion is an oldie but a goodie. Love it!

Monday night I did PiYo Upper and Lower, not bad but not my favorite. Tuesday I did Pilates and it was an equipment class, ouch on a few things and man do I need to work on some areas! The rest of my day was filled with fun and shopping. I got a new pair of shoes and did some Christmas shopping at REI. My massage felt great and she really got in deep on my neck and upper back, I hold my stress there. Back to the grind today and tonight I'll probably do P90X3 with Dave, he's been following that the past 2 weeks since he still needs to avoid running for a bit.

Michelle - Enjoy the change up, the JM workouts I've done have been hard work!

Yesterday was clam digging and today as well. I feel these are justifiable workouts. LOL!

Cindy, Great job on PiYo Upper and lower, Tues. for Pilates along with fun and shopping. Love to shop and I only had one message in my life time and it was heaven.

Saturday: BB Build chest/tris
Sunday: Cathe's Lean Legs & Abs (didn't feel like doing BB)
Monday: BB Build back/bis
Tuesday: Rapid Fire #4 Sweat (Boxing & Abs premix)
Wednesday: BB Build Shoulders

Janie Sis: Saw the pictures of the beach & I feel terrible for those poor people. I hope they have some place to go. Reminds me of Sandy. Good job on your workouts. More clams! Have you & Joey eaten up all 100 of them already! LOL

Cindy: The Halloween pictures of your kids are ADORABLE! I love the costumes. My DS went as Duff from The Simpsons. He went to a friend's party. I was sitting in my dining room on my laptop when this kid comes up to the living room window (I had the shades up & living room & dining room are one great room) at night & Booed me! LOL It was so funny! He actually thought he could scare me. Glad you enjoyed the party even though the food wasn't pristine. How did you do on Tabbatas 1-5? I've only done 1-4. Sounds like you had a fun day of pilates, shopping & massage. I've only had 2 in my lifetime & they were wonderful.

Michelle: Great job as always on your workouts. Its good to change things up. I always do.

Last night I did Hiit Pyramid, it is a killer to me and since I dread it I figure I should probably do it more often! Tonight I'm doing upper body, probably Athletic Training Upper. We have the well check at work today so I'll get my flu shot and I'm going to have my blood work ran again (it's free and doesn't hurt anything) but I'm also going to have my thyroid and hormones checked. No reason just to see I guess. I also have the kids' parent/teacher conferences tonight so it's a busy day.

Kathy - That's hilarious he thought he could scare you! Duff would be a great costume, my husband is a big Simpsons fan so I've seen plenty of Duff! I find after Tabata 1-2 3 and 4 seem like a little break but 5 has me ready to drop. I have to stay focused and keep pushing through to make it all the way through. I love massages and need to get back to getting them every 2-3 months.

Janie - Keep at the clam digging! Good physically and healthy to eat :) My masseuse really gets into the muscles and works me hard (to the point where tears will come out but that's what I ask for) but it feels so fantastic afterwards. I think it's a great treat for the body.

Packing for the move tomorrow to Shelton, and visiting friends and saying goodby to others. Bitter sweet. I almost feel like I'm abandoning them, it's so sad.

Have to show you what is happening in my neck of the woods. We are safe and almost a mile away from this:






Please bring on good vibes, prayers...much needed for our neighbors and dear friends to help soften their pain of such loss and tragedy.

Last night in keeping Cindy in mind I did Tabatacise 1-2 + Core #2 premix. Didn't cough at all. Its a miracle! LOL Today's a rest day. Ahhh! I've been doing very well on the Mega Energy Plan. Made several of the recipes & my DH & DS love them which is a miracle too. I have no sugar cravings at all which a HUGE plus for this program.

Cindy: You did great w/Pyramid. I happen to love that one. I guess you know who Duff is. Too funny. You always have packed busy days it always amazes me you can do tough workouts too. Enjoy your upper body workout. Hope your blood work results are good.

Janie Sis: I feel for this poor couple. They will certainly be in my prayers. Mother nature is not kind to any of us in the nation. The weather bureau is saying on the news that a terrible storm is hitting us all across the nation. I hope all of us are safe.

I didn't get my planned workout in since we had a cord of wood sitting in the front yard needing to be loaded into the wood racks so I did get a workout carrying armloads of wood and my arms were a bit tired by the end. Tonight I really need to rake so my plan is to do that and tomorrow I'm going to Pilates with a friend. Sunday I'll do what calls me for the day :)

Janie - That's so hard to see, prayers going out to your neighbors and friends!

Kathy - I think it's interesting that everyone's body tends to like different workouts, I think it's the tuck jumps that I hate :) Great job with Tabata 1-2 + core :)

I think I've been missing since Wednesday. Thursday was JM Killer Abs, level 1, again. Friday I took another break day. Today (Saturday), I did JM Killer Abs, level 2, and Cathe's Burn Sets Chest. Feel like I need some challenging weight work and JM doesn't really do heavy lifting in her workouts so I'm adding Burn Sets, one muscle group each day, this week.

Kathy: I think we should deem you officially "not sick." If you can get through a couple of tabatas without coughing, I think you have finally kicked the germs. Everyone seems to be trying to "clean up" their eating right now. Never a bad thing; but needed more this time of year. How are folks up your way after Sandy? It's been two years, yes? Sometimes there is a little blurb on the news about the recovery but those reports are few and far between.

Cindy: I have to get some blood work done the next week or so. It's been a while since I've had my cholesterol level checked. It was super good last time but that was like 6 or 7 years ago. DH and I also need to get our flu shots. I kind of like DWP, probably because it goes by so fast.

Janie: safe travels home, my friend.

Time to motivate to do the Saturday errands.

Day two of Jillian Michael's Killer Abs, level 2, and Cathe's XTRAIN burn sets back. I'm enjoying the combination of workouts with these two women. Quite a dynamic duo. Then I raked leaves. Didn't take too long because I don't have alot of leaves but they need to be raked and removed. I'll probably be doing this for the next 4 or 5 weekends. It's okay. It is nice to be outside in the fresh air moving around. After I was done raking and picking up leaves, I visited with my favorite neighborhood family, took some treats to their labs, then walked around the Circle and chatted with some of my other neighbors. This was my daily routine and will be again next year in the summer when we get our new puppy.

Not a restful weekend for me. Busy w/errands & cleaning. Our upstairs toilet had overflowed something was clogged. Roto-Rooter came by to fix & told us we need a new one. After the holidays DH will deal w/it.

Saturday it was a miracle I managed to do BB Bulk Chest. That's a brutal workout. I was spent afterwards. Sunday was BB Build Legs. Another brutal workout. Had to prep some things from the Mega Energy Plan. DH & I went to the mall b/c Macy's was having a huge sale. Everything was 40-50% off. Took advantage of it. :)

Tonight will be BB Bulk Shoulders + Michelle Dozois' Cardio Interval Burn combos 1-2. Michelle has this chaptered that your able to go back to the screen & pick & choose which interval you want to do.

Michelle: Good workouts & its nice to catch up w/the neighbors. Glad you don't have to rake too many leaves. We have our landscaper do it as we have trees from every direction. People are still w/the dumpsters in front of their properties. Not a lot just a few but its still sad. My own boss still has to reline his built-in pool.

Cindy: How was Pilates? Its always nice attending a class w/a friend.

I had an active weekend, Friday was raking most of the yard, Saturday was Pilates (she really got into our upper abs and it was brutal), finishing raking, and a nice walk with the kids. Sunday I organized and cleaned the basement and garage and went through shoes and snow boots (had to do a run to REI to get Lily a pair of boots!). I feel like I'm still tired from the time change, ugh! We went from 60's on Saturday to 2-3 inches of snow this morning and 13 degrees out. The kids were beyond excited for the snow :)

Tonight I'll do a full body workout with weights and tomorrow I have off for Veteran's Day so I'll start off with a workout and then do some Christmas shopping to fill my day.

Kathy - So sorry about the toilet overflowing, that's such a nightmare to deal with! Nice to get errands and cleaning done!

Michelle - Great job hitting it so hard! Glad you got some raking done (I think I'm officially done with that at this point) and some chatting with the neighbors.

Took a break from weight work today, just did Jillian's Killer Abs Level 3--she definitely incorporates some challenging moves in the level 3 workout--many involve alot of balance which of course is all core. Stopped by Quantico this morning to see my girlfriend's new black lab puppy. The Marines had a four-day weekend due to today being the Marine Corps' Birthday and tomorrow is Veterans' Day, so not alot of people in the offices. Right now the puppy does not have a name, so we are calling her Miss No Name Pup-Pup. I played with her for about 30 minutes (until she fell over for a puppy nap) and then I headed up the road to work.

Cindy: glad you got the raking done before the snow. You guys in Montana are used to this type of weather (aren't you?), although going from 60 to 13 degrees is a bit of a change. You were like the energizer bunny this weekend. I need to hit my basement hard and get rid of stuff. I've been taking a more gradual approach to cleaning it out lately, which is better than nothing but maybe next weekend I'll tackle a section and see what I can get done.

Kathy: bummer on the toilet. That had to be a "no fun" event. At least it's temporarily back in service. Shopping at Macy's sounds like fun. I love going to the Macy's in the city. It is such a HUGE store. Well, you should be in the home stretch on BB, yes? Are you sure one of the Bs doesn't stand for brutal? LOL!

Please forgive me for being MIA. I was trying to catch up last night but my computer just went black. I'll try again tonight, but in the mean time I have to watch my shows. LOL You know how that goes. I'll be back...

Been walking the beach with Rolly and practicing my guitar. Made a video of myself singing Lovesong by Adele. I really thought I sounded pretty good until I heard myself. Maybe it's time to learn picking on the guitar. LOL Then there's the problem of wrinkles. LOL. Well being old truly isn't for the faint of heart. Been wanting to draw a person with wrinkles. Maybe I should do a self portrait and capture them and add some more. Seriously! Could do it holding a guitar. LOL It's OK, that's life. At least I have someone to grow old with. That's the best part. My Joey.

OK I'm back. Did soap felting tonight. So much fun and will do it again tomorrow. Decided to stay at the beach house. Will leave for a bone density test on Fri. and will come right back on Sat. All my friends are here at the BH, I can't for the life of me see me going back to Shelton when here is the best place. I don't have any friends there (Shelton). We may go back in Jan. I don't know yet. We use Shelton address for mail, appt. visitors and just if we want to be alone for a couple of days. It is a very pretty place and so much bigger than our very small place here at the beach, but we are so happy here. I just don't know, we'll see how things go.

Michelle, Great job on Jillian's Killer abs level 3. Puppies are so cute and cuddly and their breaths smell like oatmeal. I love that!

Cindy, Great job on raking and Pilates and a walk with the kids. And all the cleaning and organizing. Can't believe the weird weather you are experiencing.

Kathy Sis, Aw, I'm sorry you didn't get a restful weekend. Great job on BB Build Legs. Bet you guys got a lot of stuff at Macy's sale.

Michelle, Great job on JM Killer abs, level 2 and Xtrain burn sets back. Those are a pair of instructors to have a rotation with. Brilliant idea! Nice to keep in touch and catch up with neighbors and friends. It's always so nice. Your new puppy will enjoy doing that as well this Summer.

Monday night I did Total Synergistics with Dave and yesterday I did some Christmas shopping and it exhausted me so I opted for bed at 9:30 and didn't workout. I also didn't sleep all that great, I think Lucas was a little cold and kept waking. Woke up to -13 this morning so it's bundle up time but the sun still feels great. Tonight I'll probably do P90X3 with Dave and then tomorrow morning I'll get my workout in early, probably a PiYo.

Janie - Stay where you're happiest and embrace your wrinkles, they just mean you've had the luxury of living :) I don't like the sound of myself on recordings so it could be that's what you didn't like.

Michelle - Yeah for the puppy time, they are so enjoyable!

Tuesday was BB Bulk Back + Core #2. I'm officially on my last & final week of BB!!! Thank goodness b/c I'm so ready for PiYo. :) Tonight will be Amy Bento Ross's Body Box the entire workout.

Michelle: Great workouts & yes one of the B's should be Brutal! LOL Glad you enjoyed your puppy time w/your GF.

Cindy: I just can't wrap my head around these temperature changes. Its so drastic going from 60 to 13 & now to -13. Today (Wed.) we have 58 but not for long. We're expected a little bit of snow on Sunday. Glad you finished up all your raking before the snow came down. I hope Lucas isn't coming down with a cold.

Janie Sis: Like Cindy said stay where your happiest. Did you get that well finished for your water? I never did any soap felting. Will have to Google it to find out how you do it. I don't sound good on recordings either. We have to embrace our wrinkles don't we? Sometimes I look at myself in the mirror & wonder who that gal is. LOL

Decided I didn't need my face showing, but you can hear me playing my guitar and my attempt to sing a different song, if you dare, LOL. It's called "Mad World" LOL! Been playing guitar now for 6 months. Hopefully 6 months from now I can compare and see improvements in playing and singing.

Walked a couple of dogs from a person who is an animal hoarder. They sure needed it, poor things. And I do feel for this person. She seems like such a nice person.

Kathy Sis, Great job on BB Bulk Back and Core #2. Jjoey finished fixing the well, and we now have our own water! YEA!

Cindy, I will embrace my wrinkles now. I worked hard for them! LOL! Great job on Mon. doing Total Synergistics with Dave and for yesterday doing Christmas shopping. Good time to take a rest day. Wow 13 degrees! Yikes! Winter is here.

Last night was Amy's Body Box the All Cardio only premix. Had a blast w/Amy! Tonight will be BB Bulk Arms. I'm into the home stretch now w/BB. I'm tired of all this strength training. Next week I'm going to do STS Meso 3 to see if I can do chest presses with the heavy barbell again.

Janie Sis: I'll have to view the clip at home in order to hear you sing & play. We're blocked here at work. That's so sweet of you to walk some of the dogs. Your right I'm sure they needed the fresh air & exercise. How many does she have?
