Career has been in research in big pharma, academics and biotech with the latest step being the co-founding a biotech of which I am on the management team.....so my BS is related to what I do.

Wendy, when I see your pics of little Joey, it makes me feel like maybe I missed my calling. Your job now is the most important job of all. I have no doubt that you will be brilliant at it. The world has far too few of people who were raised by mothers like you! You are making a very important contribution to this world, and don't you ever forget it!

Ok, I will chime in too. I have a BA in Biology with an emphasis in research, and no I am not currently using it. I am a stay at mom homeschooling mom to my 3 boys. So all in all my heavy science background will come in handy in the upper grades in teaching those subjects. I also have a AS from a 2 year school. And I was on the 7 year plan in getting my BA because I changed majors and worked my way through school myself ( with the exception of the 1st 2 years). I also attended 5 different colleges in my quest for my degree.
I also was trained as an EMT Intermediate during my lag between getting an associates and a BA! I never worked in the EMS field though.:+
