Foxy Fusionistas - March :)

Katie:: Thank re: TA. Luckily for me, the cardio in Meta doesn't ever change unless I CHANGE IT by doing something outside of the set rotation. The only thing I would ever do that would be anywhere as brutal on my calves as her cardio is jump rope and I did that the other day and was no worse for the wear so as long as I keep one or both of those two things in my rotation I'll be good to go calf-wise! Good for you playing it smart and taking it easy on your back. When you suffer a side-lining injury you suddenly become much more careful, ey? LOL I have never been so careful with my shoulders as I am now!

Wiggie:: What's the Challenge?

Hey Ladies. :)

This morning I did the Insanity warm up followed by Hipcentric 11-20 muscular work for the 2nd time and then another round of the Insanity warm up. Awesome work out!

BBL!

Happy Friday!! :)

My doctor cleared me to return to CrossFit yesterday provided I not push it too hard too fast. Of course yesterday turned out to be deadlift day at CF, which wasn't ideal but I made it work. After the warm-up I did 2x3 deadlifts (95#) and a 21/15/9 of deadlifts (95#), hand-release pushups, and rowing for calories (so you had to row until you burned 21 calories, then 15 calories, then 9 calories). After CrossFit I went on a 2 mile run.

I'm going to CrossFit again today after work. Here's the workout:

Warm-Up 3 rounds of: tip-toe walk; 20 high knees; 20 butt kicks; 10 leg swings; 10 pass throughs; and 10 supermans.

Skill: 3x10 back squat (I will probably stay light to protect my back).

WOD: 200 jump ropes then 10 rounds of: 10 wall balls; 5 burpees; and 200 jump ropes.

It is going to be fun!! :D

Wendy: Look at you stocking up on TA DVDs!! Actually, I don't blame you at all. If you can get them at a good price, might as well get them now! You can always sell them later and probably get your money back. I browsed the Collage Video website but most of the DVDs I wanted were only discounted a few dollars or were already sold out. I'm saving up to get a Garmin Forerunner 10 (GPS Running Watch | Forerunner 10) so I decided not to buy anything. I think injuries just make me paranoid! :p:rolleyes::eek:

Good morning Ladies!!

Thanks for the heads up re Collage. I bought several of instructors that I have wanted to try. I bought a Paul Katami, TA, Leslie Sansone(for a friend that wanted me to help her lose weight), & Amy Dixon. I think that's all. Tuesday's workout was The Warrior & Yoga X3. I did the Crow for the first time, Yay!! The hardest part of that move for me was getting my knees in the correct position. That completed week 2. Wednesday's was Total Synergistics & Agility X. Thursday's was The Challenge.

Wendy: The Challenge is from X3, it's alternating different variations of pull ups & pushups for eight rounds.

Katie: Congrats on getting cleared!! Smart to go slow, we don't want a relapse. I should not have done 4 miles, my right hamstring hurt the next day, but after that it was fine.

Hello! :)

Good news on the adoption front. We finally received our USCIS approval. I spent Friday afternoon and yesterday morning finalizing documents. I am happy to report that our dossier is officially complete and on its way to Ukraine. Yippee!! We hope to submit our dossier next Thursday (Ukraine only accepts submissions for our age group on Thursdays). After that, Ukraine has 20 working days to accept/approve/disapprove our dossier. If everything goes as planned, we hope to know our travel date in the next 6-8 weeks and actually travel in the next 10-12 weeks, so probably the beginning of or mid June.

Saturday was a CrossFit workout that consisted of 7 rounds of: 200 meter run, 12 kettlebell snatches; and 20 sit-ups. It was on the easier side, which was good. After Friday's craziness I needed an easier workout.

Sunday I went on a 6 mile run. My farthest distance to date. :)

Yesterday I participated in a St. Patty's Day 3K race that benefitted one of the local Frankfort schools. It was fun. I think my time was just over 17:00 minutes, which makes me happy.

Wiggie: Which Amy Dixon workout did you get? I almost got one of her breathless body workouts, but I waited too long and they all sold out. Smart to stock up while the DVDs were on sale. Congrats on nailing the crow pose! That's a tough one for sure. I think once I was able to hold it for about 2 seconds before I toppled over.:p When is your next race? Don't you have an 8k coming up? or maybe i'm just making that up, lol!:p

Wendy: I hope you had a great weekend!!

Hey Ladies. :)

Sorry I went MIA. I was in AC this past weekend and I also just got lazy with posting but not with my work outs! Still going strong on the TA META bandwagon and still throwing in weighted circuits and all kinds of cardio as well. I've strayed off the official rotation path with META though and spent the last few days trying them all. :D Now that I've done that I need to figure out what I will do as far as a rotation goes..... I want to do them ALL!

Katie:: Congrats on moving forward with the adoption process! How exciting! I hope everything goes as planned and you have a baby by summer's end! :D:D:D

Wiggie:: Which TA did you buy??? :D

Hi gals!

Yesterday's CrossFit workout was a doozie...I secretly enjoyed it. :D After a thorough warm-up we did a WOD called "Deck of Cards." I'm sure you've heard/seen something similar before. A full deck of cards was placed in the middle of the room. One card was flipped over at a time. The first person finished with the designated exercise flipped the next card, so you had to be careful not to get too far behind. The suit represented the exercise: Hearts = Burpees; Diamonds = Situps; Spades = Kettlebell swings (26#); and Clubs = Air Squats. The number on the card represented the number of reps. All face cards were 10 reps, and aces were 20 reps. There were also 2 jokers thrown in that represented a 400 meter run. It took about 25 minutes to finish the WOD. I thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest. :)

I'm taking a rest day today. My lower back is a little sore. Nothing serious. Just normal muscle soreness. But I don't want to risk injury, so i'm going to relax today and maybe use my foam roller this evening.

Wendy: We will give you a free pass for not checking in this past weekend. ;):p It's not like Wiggie and I EVER miss a day. :D How was your AC trip? Did you win any big money? I keep waiting for you to say you hit the jackpot and you're heading to the beach to live a life of luxury. Glad to hear you're still enjoying your TA workouts. Whenever I get a new workout system I always do all the DVDs first thing. I just can't help myself.

Hello ladies!!

I have good news & bad news. The good news is I lost 5 pounds this weekend, the bad news is I had nausea & diarrhea to do it. Needless to say rough weekend. We went to an old school concert Saturday, I starved myself all day to make sure I'd be alright. The bands were the Manhattans, the Whispers, Bobby Womack & Frankie Beverly & Maze. DH loves all of them, me not as much, but it was fun. The only workout I did was TA Mat once & that was on Sunday.. I'm still eating very lightly, my stomach still feels a little sensitive.:(

Wendy: I got The Method by TA. All the dvds I bought were 6.99 & under.:) Hope you had a great time in AC, good job on TA!!

Katie:I got Raise Some Bell by Amy. It got good reviews, it was cheap, so I said why not? Taking a rest day, good girl!! So proud of you!! That was some CrossFit, I might try that one at home. My 10K is on April 5th.

Well I finally worked out!:p I felt a lot better today, still eating very lightly.;) This is my transition week on X3. I'll be following the rotation loosely. Today's(Wed.) was JNL's Upper Body Transformer & TA's Mat, I stopped after I finished the arm section.

"See" you tomorrow!!

Good Morning!

I'm so glad I took yesterday off. My back is still a little touchy, but better today. After all these years i'm finally learning to listen to my body, lol. I'm a slow learner.:p

I decided to make today a double day. I indulged in a HUGE plate of onion rings last night and i'm feeling the guilt. Anyway, this morning I did a workout from my FBI Prep Workout app: 14 minute run + 5 minute stretch + 2 rounds of - 4 minute tabata; 10 lunges (per leg); 50 crunches; 1 minute plank; and 1 minute swimmer. It took about 35 minutes to complete. I ran right at or slightly under 1.5 miles in the 14 minutes. Considering I was running the treadmill, I was thrilled!!! :) I'm still going to CrossFit after work today. I already checked the WOD, and it is an easier one.

Wiggie: Awwww. You poor thing. Boo on being sick. :( Sounds like you had a less-than-thrilling weekend. Glad you're on the mend, though!! Make sure not to push yourself too hard too fast with your workouts. I can't believe you went to a concert with an upset stomach. Man, what a trooper! You're such a sweetie to do that for your DH. I'm excited for your 10k!! I've got my 7 mile race in a little over a week (not this Saturday, but next Saturday). I'm so nervous!! It's my first serious race.

Hi Girls. :)

So today's work out was 3 rounds of the following exercises at 10 reps each w/no rest. It took me about 12 mins to complete...

Pull ups
One Arm DB Shoulder Press
One Arm DB Row
Push Ups
Other Arm DB Row
Other Arm DB Shoulder Press

I followed it up with TA Meta Hip! No time for cardio/conditioning but it's probably just as well coz I was FRIED!!!!!:D

Wiggie:: You must let me know how you like TA!!!

Katie:: Onion rings are the best! I don't blame you for indulging! YUM!!!!! My entire weekend in A/C was one huge indulgence but now that I am back on track I don't think I am any worse for the wear! Perhaps I won't see the losses I might have seen if I hadn't gone but ya gotta let go and have fun once in a while or you'll go crazy! :D Moral of the story:: Just jump back on the wagon and don't beat yourself up over it!:)

Good Morning Girls. TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

This morning's weigh in was not the best but it could have been far worse considering what my weekend in AC looked like food-wise! But like I told Katie, I'm not beatin' myself up over it. Just moving ahead and looking forward to better #'s next week! :) It's likely just bloat from eating too much crap anyway!;)

BBL with my work out!

Good morning mi bonitas!!

Thursday's workout was Isometrix(an X3 yoga workout where you hold the poses for 45 secs) chased by PRS#1. It's amazing how hard you work just holding a pose. I started sweating after about the 3rd move. Since I lost 5 pounds the hard way:rolleyes:, I've decided to start watching what I eat a little better so I don't find it again.:p

Katie: Thanks for the well wishes.:) You are gonna rock that race, I know it!! Your distance has increased so much in such a short time, even with an injury!! You're my hero!! I wanna be like you when I grow up!! :p:D:) I love onion rings!! Hey, you need the extra calories the way you're tearing up the road lately, not to mention CrossFit!:)

Wendy: I like the TA workouts I've done so far, but not enough to pay for the Meta system.;) It's very different, who knows it might be what my body needs. If I notice any changes my opinion will change. I did get Teen Meta too, which is supposed to be sort of an intro.

Have a great weekend!!:)

TGIF!

Yesterday's CrossFit workout went like this: warm-up + 3x10 front squats (75#) + 5 minute plank hold + 5 minutes of rowing + 5 min. AMRAP of: (i) 7 v-sits; (ii) 7 KB thrusters; and (iii) 7 hand-release pushups.

I'm going to CrossFit again today after work so i'll try to stop by tomorrow and report the workout!

My scale told me i'm back down to where I was when we started our weekly weigh-in. I had gone up 1-2 pounds. I'm attributing that to very few workouts for 2 weeks due to my back injury.

Wendy: I love your attitude!!! I wouldn't worry a bit about the scale. You'll knock the pounds back off in no time. You definitely deserved to let loose last weekend. I find if I try to "diet" too long I start to lose it (not weight, mind you) and everything falls apart. Great job with your workout yesterday!! Except for my long runs I've been doing short and sweet workouts lately (like yesterday's 5 min AMRAP).

Wiggie: Oh my goodness holding yoga poses is TORTURE!!! I find it to be so much harder than a flowing yoga routine. Maybe that's why I like Namaste Yoga so much... PRS #1 is such a fun workout though it tends to make me dizzy. Occasionally I have to cut back on the spinning so I don't spin right off my step. ;):p I like your justification for why I need onion rings. I'm going to remember that next time I indulge. :D

Hi. I'm back!:)

Today was a rest day from everything but TA. Since my muscles are fried, I opted for an easy TA workout. I did The Method for Beginners work out #1. Just got it in the mail y'day. Perfect timing. Not difficult at all but fun! It was just what I needed today. Tmrw the brutality begins again!:p

BBL!

Yesterday's work out was this::
5@30/30 of one arm db row R, one arm db row L, push ups, single leg squat curl press R, single leg squat curl press L.
5@15/30 of one arm db row R, one arm db row L, push ups, rev lunge curl press R, rev lunge curl press L.
10@28/28 of heavy one arm swings alternating R and L.

And last but not least META HIP 11-20! :D

Happy Sunday!!

Friday's workout was JNL's Lean Legs, DGD & I visited my Aunt Saturday, she hasn't been well lately, so I never got around to working out. Sunday's was Accelerator(X3), PRS#1 & Dynamix(X3) which is kind of a sports recovery type of workout.

Katie: Congrats re the scale! :) Wow your race is coming up, are you ready? I'm saying it like Cathe would say it. :D PRS#1 does have a lot of spinning. :p

Hi ladies!

I've been running around all morning fixing more adoption paperwork. Just when I think everything is finally done something else comes up. It's driving me crazy. We had hoped to officially submit our dossier this Thursday, but now we are going to be delayed another week. I realize it is not that big of a deal, but after so. many. delays. already one more week feels like a lifetime. I just have to reminding myself it will all be worth it in the end. :)

Now that i'm off THAT soapbox, here's my weekend workout roundup.

Friday - 400 meter run; stretches; dead hang; 14 minute AMRAP of: 60 calorie row; 50 toes-to-bar; 40 wall balls; 30 power cleans; 20 pull-ups and 20 dips.

Saturday - 6.5 mile run. My bum has been sore ever since. :D:rolleyes::)

Sunday - Power Hour (upper body only) + abs + calves (from GS Legs) + foam roller stretch.

I'll be hitting up CrossFit today after work and i'm looking forward to it! I need to let go of a little stress, and exercising always helps with that.

Wendy: Brutal workout on Saturday! Great job!! Just to make sure i'm reading your workout right, you did 5 rounds of each exercise before moving on to the next, right? Gesh, that sounds so hard!! It's nice to through in that easier workout every once in awhile. I'm sure your body appreciated the rest. :p

Wiggie: Bahaha! I could totally hear Cathe's "are you ready" voice. I needed that laugh this morning. :) Yeah, I think i'm ready. I've been adding .5 mile per week, so according to my training schedule I should be running 7 miles this Saturday. Of course I set it up that way. ;) I'm really nervous, though, about the race. I'll try to post pictures on Saturday post-race...if i'm still walking. :D

Hey,

Y'day's work out was 3 rounds of core work (15 mins), 1 round of tabata training (5 mins) and Meta Hip 11-20.

This morning was Meta Hip 21-30 and 15 mins of BBL Bum Bum.

Katie:: I did each exercise once in 5@30/30 and 5@15/30 since there were 5 exercises. So if it read 10 then I would have done each exercise twice and so on.... I don't do the same thing back to back. I go through it circuit style.

Wiggie:: Great work outs! Hope you had a nice visit with your Aunt. :) I saw a used copy of P90X3 on Amazon and did NOT buy it! What is wrong with me!?!?!:p:confused::p
