Fitnessfreak - private rotation?

MAYNARDSMOM

Cathlete
I don't know if you do "private" rotations or not. Thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. all you can do is say "no" right?

I am looking for a leg rotation with NO upper body work at all. I have a shoulder that needs rest & I have made the tough decision to take an entiremonth off of uuper body. I have looked at your recent leg blast rotations but saw upper body work in them.

I do have the majority of Cathe's wo's so that's not an issue.

Thanks for your help :)

I am going through the same thing right now (problem w/ left shoulder) and have been trying to come up with a rotation myself for the next month. I have been trying to come up with a cardio & leg rotation with no weight and no upper body.

I'll be curious to see if Debbie has any ideas. I did her Dec. rotation and LOVED it. But I like lifting heavy.

Sally

WOW, yeah, what Tami said!!!!!! (I don't know how to do the big lettering here).

Thanks again sooooooooo much,

Sally

Just wanted to chime in here - I would love to see such a workout also. I have been dealing with a right elbow issue for a while now, so am in a similar boat. Happy New Year and thanks in advance for any ideas!

Hello, Debbie!
Re your question, I am not sure if I should answer this - or leave it to the original poster - but I guess it won't hurt to chime in. I can do cardio for sure, just have to be careful with kickboxing punches with the right elbow not to punch too "hard" or too fast. I am currently doing what was suggested in another thread about recovering from biceps/triceps injuries - that is I am doing biceps and triceps work with only a 2 pound dumbell (started with 1 lb!). I can do things like chest presses ok but I am very cautious with all upper body and using very light weights, 2-3, because just the act of picking up a weight can irritate my elbow/low triceps area. I am improving slowly but it seems to be very, very slow. If you have any suggestions on recovery I would be thrilled to hear them. My doctor thinks I pulled something in the triceps group.

Feel free to chime in Ann. I'm amazed at how many people have the same issue going on.

As far as my answer to any upper body work I am thinking none for right now & I will ease into it. I had this issue about 1 1/2 yrs ago & I did NO upper body for I believe 4 weeks then eased back in using ridiculously low weights.

Bring on the cardio, but I'm thinking no Kickbox for several weeks, the punching not good.

It started bothering me about 2 weeks before Christmas & thought I was taking it easy on it. Mon (12/29) I did CardioMax & just that upper body had it hurting Tues.

I HATE INJURIES!!!! :mad::mad:

Thanks for you help.

Hi Debbie,

I saw this post last night and decided to see how my shoulder felt today after doing kickbox yesterday. Um, it's sore this morning dangit, so I guess no upper work for me right now. I'm trying to get all better for STS.

You are so sweet for doing this. I tried to throw something together myself and it's not easy. I came up with lower body no weight(can't lift the weight over my head) alternated with cardio. I tried to make the cardio more leg focused though. If you want I can post it here to see what you think.

Thank you!!

Sally

hanging in there

"I HATE INJURIES!!!! :mad::mad:"

Tami, I agree TOTALLY! Injuries stink. I feel so frustrated! At least we can commiserate with each other while we recover. I have been feeling really crummy 'cause I know STS should be coming soon, and I won't be able to even start it for a while. It looks like I am not the only one in that boat!

Hang in there :)

Tami & Ann,

I agree with both of you also, injuries are NOT fun. I went through PT in April for impingement of my right shoulder. This is not the same thing on my left one though. It stinks nonetheless:(. Hopefully we'll all be healthy soon.

Take care,

Sally

Sally & Ann,

Would you two be interested in doing a check in together through our recovery? We could be "NUB" - No Upper Body.
I do one with two other girls from the forum via e-mail & I just love chatting & getting to know them. Ours started from the 100 push up challenge & now we just check in & give one anotehr support. Obvioulsy not doing the push ups anymore.

I do have another ? for you two. How do you sleep. Mine is my left shoulder & I find myself sometimes laying on that side & I wonder if that effects it.

I have come up with some combos of wo's to do but still would like Debbies input. Wed B&G premis leg blast
Thurs Step Blast
Fri Step works & Abs
Sat lowmax premix of just step no balst & KM leg drills.

For me I don't mind still using heavy weights for legs I'll just be careful.

Another note I wound up caceling my STS because of this. Not worth the risk of tearing or doing more damage right now. Look forward to the ab work though.

Ok, I'll do up a rotation including leg work and cardio only. I can sympathize on the shoulder pain, I'm having some myself in my right shoulder. It's hurting right now after I did my shoulder work this morning. I need to figure out what to do. Not working out isn't really an option for me right now. I just hope it doesn't get worse. I guess I'll have to swallow my pride and go lower with weights for shoulder work for a while.

Give me some time and I"ll get something together. I've been quite busy since New Years Eve. Sorry for the delay!

Debbie, I can't wait to see what you come up with. I sprained my elbow two months ago or so, and ever since then I have to be really careful when I do any upper body work. Plus, my lower body is really where I need the work.

Take your time, I understand about being busy. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

When you say working out isn't an option for you what do you do? Just work thorugh it? Or go lighter & still work thorugh it? I can say this now for me isn't near as bad as when I originally hurt it 2 yrs ago, so that's good....I think :(

Debbie,

Sorry to hear you are having issues right now with your shoulder also. What a PIA, right? No worry about the delay, I can wait. We have had our 6 yr. old grandson staying with us so I have been keeping busy, lol.

Tami,

I will do a check in with you. I don't tend to be very consistent with them, but I'll do my best. As far as sleeping, what's that(lol)? I don't know that it hurts to lay on it, turning over is another issue though. It seems to wake me up when I do.

check in, sleep, humility etc

Hi Tami and everyone,

I have never done a check-in - would like to try it but not sure what it entails - I am afraid that I would not be a "reliable" poster - some days I don't get to it, depending on what's going on at work mainly.

Re sleep, I hurt my elbow 3 months ago. For a while it was interfering with sleep a lot, but thank goodness it has improved since the original injury, and now I can sleep ok. I generally have to lay with that arm out straight, as it's most comfortable that way.

Speaking of swallowing pride, I just got done with yet another work out doing triceps and biceps with 1 pound dumbells. When I progress to 2 pounds I will have to throw a party :) In the beginning I could not even use the 1 pounders so must be grateful at least for that.

I am just hoping, praying, crossing fingers et al that ALL of us can recover from these various problems soon.

Debbie thank you again!

OK Sally & ann I'll try & remember to start the check in on Monday (Check ins & Challenges) under NUB ladies.
Mine has actually been feeling better, still occassional pain but not like before. Now the tough part is to still give it those several weeks of rest once the pain is gone.
I know what you mena about using the 1 pounders. GEEZ!!! Last time I remember doing increasing weight exercoses & starting with 0 & my highest was like 5 lbs. Better to take it slow & easy than make it worse! I'll keep telling myself that.

Today I did LowMax premis with no blasts although I did add in blast #6 KickMax leg drills - love those then BM2 abs & stretch.

Do either of you know - it's good to stretch the injured area gently right?

Talk with you two Monday.

Yes, so far I just work through it. I've lowered my weights a lot with my shoulder work. I just can't stand the thought of stopping my workouts but I guess if it gets worse I'll have too. :(
