Favorite movie heroine???

Was up late last night watching "Aliens" while everyone else was snoozing... and thought Riply has got to be the best movie heroine! She's tough, honest, brave, nurturing... all in one. Trying to think of some more recent movie heroines, and I keep coming up blank. So Riply is my vote for fave... what's yours??

Princess Leia. She got the gun and the hot guy!

Also love Ripley and Trinity from Matrix. Starbuck too, but she's TV.

Fun thread!

Ripley, first last and always. Funny you should bring this up: DH rents "Aliens" for me at least once a year because I love how Ripley kicks @$$, AND The Colonial Marines, especially Vazquez the chin-up girl, and we saw it about three weeks ago.

Scarlett O'Hara. She never let anything drag her down, she had backbone, she always got what she wanted, & she never took any crap from anyone.

Well, not unless it'd get her something she wanted.

Linda O'Conner from the Terminator movies. Tough chick, would fight to the death for her family, & had awesome delts.

Not Princess Leia! My goodness that woman is always in need of a man to rescue her! From the begining in Star Wars to her slave outfit in Jedi. Yes she could handle a gun and wasn't afraid of Vader but she did need a man.

Grace Kelly in Rear Window. The first time I saw that movie it gave me chills esp the daringness of 'Lisa' the charector she plays.

OK OK I would agree about Leia, but as a little girl, she was just IT for me :D

I'd disagree about Scarlett though. She believed Ashley loved her. And, at least in the book, she does what she does for survival, not a man. What a story. One of my favorite books.

I second the Katherine Hepburn nomination! She was always her own person - in real life and on the screen.

Susan "One Half" L.G.

Louise from "Thelma and Louise": she kicked ass and was not taken down.

Go Ridley Scott.

I am sure there are many more, just let me think......

Okay, this may not be a movie heroine, but just wait she probably will be--the bionic woman! na na na na na na na, shoop(that's her jumping).

Oh, I have to second Linda Hamilton as Sarah Conner in the Terminator flicks. Now that is one tough cookie }( !

Oh, me too! She is also smart, leader of the Rebellion, ballsy and you have to admire a woman who can reform a bad boy! :p

I also love Selene from Underworld - she is a total harda$$ and kicks some major lycan - then vampire - booty! She totally rebuffs the hot head vampire who is in love with her and can be a bit of a rebel... I love to watch Underworld when I run, it gives me a total adreneline rush and a feeling of empowerment watching her! :D

Another Hepburn fan.... Anything she did is just classy and her strength of characters was well ahead of her time!

My all-time fav is a trio: Diane Keaton, Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn in First Wive's Club, who really show those dirtbag ex-husbands who have cast them aside what they're made of. LOVE those ladies! :D
