Evening snack attacks!

Ok, I admit it, I like to eat chips while watching Breaking Bad. I eat well the rest of the day and then 7pm hits and the munchies kick in. I don't eat a whole bag (but more than the recommended serving of 25 chips. Who counts 25 chips and then stops?!). So my question is this, what are your HEALTHY snack alternatives in the evening?
 
Popcorn! Although I admit I eat the microwave kind (Pop Secret Homestyle) and I sprinkle mine with cheddar flavored dust, but you can make a healthy air-popped version.

I love Breaking Bad too - what a nail-biter!

ETA: It sounds like you enjoy snacking on salty foods, but what about some Frosted Mini Wheats or Cracklin' Oat Bran cereal?

Sometimes at night I will do what JulesMT does and eat cereal for the low-fat crunch. However, lately I have been so bad with my snacking!! Arghhh.

Other times, when I am good, I will slice up an apple (for the crunch and sweet) and have a little bit of almond butter on the side for dipping (for salty and nutty)
 
I second air popped popcorn. You can have so much more popcorn for the same about of calories that is in chips. And with Kernel Seasons you can have endless flavor options. My personal favorite is the chili lime (or jalapeno) mixed with nacho cheddar.
 
The popcorn is a good choice. I just cant bring myself to eating fruit at night. I want comfort food! I usually eat some almonds (unsalted).

When I try not eating after 8-9pm, I find myself so hungry at 10ish I dip into the jar of peanut butter for 1-2 tbsp. Am I bad or what?
 
Decaf tea and a slice of whole grain toast (Alvarado bread) with coconut spread/butter substitute. Since I gave up sugar in tea I don't find myself snacking as much p.m. Go figure but my sugar cravings are gone. I don't like popcorn so that doesn't work for me plus I like the comfort of tea.
 
I'm thankful for all the ideas - this is a problem for me, too. I can be "good" all day, & then phlat! Down I go! LOL I always say I'm not going to snack after dinner, but then, it almost becomes a compulsion. I know I wasn't put on this earth to fight with my weight all my adult life! :mad: I need to keep reminding myself that what tastes good & satisfies me in the short-term is not conducive to attaining my long-term goal!

I love popcorn but I'll eat the whole bag!
I go for a medium plate of whole-grain crackers and cheese or baked tostitos and salsa. It's satisfying and fairly nutritious!
 
popcorn

I make my own microwave popcorn. 1/2 cp kernals, some EVOO, salt, brown paper lunch bag, fold over once, 3 staples, 2-2 1/2 min. in the microwave. I look forward to this all day. Sometimes I go through pickle phases too.
