do you eat frozen foods like smart ones?

Is that considered "clean"? I'm sure not too much since it is processed/frozen. But for a quick lunch sometimes I'll eat one. I actually really like Smartones chicken and cheese quesadilla, the blackbean quesadillas are good too. I eat one with a dollop of low fat sour cream and if I'm still hungry a small bowl of soup on the side. I love campbells tomato parmesan bisque. I split it with my boys and myself. They love it too. so I just get a small bowl. But it is processed but seems not "too" bad right?
Just wondering what thoughts are on foods like that?

I don't eat them because first and foremost, they don't satisfy me. I finish eating something like that and immediately want more to eat. The second reason I don't eat them is because a lot of them are really high in sodium. But, if you like them and want to eat them, I say go for it... it's 100% better than fast food!

I don't know about Smart Ones. Do they have a lot of salt? Processed foods/ingredients? The only frozen food I eat, and love it too, is Amy's. Some of their stuff is too salty for me but it is all organic, I believe and some is vegan. None has more sodium than the average frozen dinner, and probably less. They also use a lot of high fiber foods instead of the average stuff in frozen foods.

Nope, I won't eat them. They are usually very high in sodium. Also, when I read the ingredients and if I don't know what they are/can't pronnounce them...well, I don't want them in my body! LOL!

No. I would not consider them "clean". They're full of sodium and preservatives, and most don't have enough protein to be considered a complete "meal" for my needs.

Same here, I don't eat pre-package foods. Way to high in sodium I keep track of sodium keeping it at 2200 mg or below daily.

I admit, I do like certain Smart Ones (and desserts). I probably eat one once a week for either lunch or dinner. Though they are not clean and are incredibly high in sodium, there's the convenience factor.

I will occasionally eat an Amy's or Kashi meal when I'm pressed for time. I also like Dr. Praeger's veggie burgers. I don't consider these "clean" but they are a better choice than skipping a meal or eating fast food.

The Kashis and the Amy's are generally much lower in sodium with real food ingredients. Some of us don't have the luxury of endless time to prepare meals so as mentioned earlier, these are not bad choices in a pinch. I will caution that the last Kashi I had absolutely disgusting and I will likely never eat one again. The Amy's bowl that has brown rice and black eyed peas is a rather tasty number.

I do eat them at work for lunch sometimes and sometimes for dinner when I have worked late and then worked out and cooking dinner is the very last thing I want to do.
I do not think they are "clean". Way too processed to be considered clean.
But they are convienient.

The Kashi frozen dinners might be a little closer to clean but still processed food

VERY rarely do i eat any of them. i do like healthy choice's selections esp. when i don't like what is served at work(ugh school burgers and sandwiches bleck!) then its a quick meal and i usually pair it with a small side salad for extra veggies.

As someone else mentioned, it's hard to find the time to make meals all the time. I do occasionally have Smart Ones or Lean Cuisines for lunch. Rarely for dinner (kids, DH - so meals homemade usually). But if I'm rushed, they work for me.

I eat Amy's, but that's it.

Last night, I had an Amy's pocket (something-or-other) with a huge salad and a Kombucha. The salad was more of the meal than the pocket something-or-other.

I will also use them for lunch at work when I'm pressed for time (and/or haven't prepared something the day before to take as left-overs). Definitely better than some other options.

As others have mentioned, many frozen foods (even those with healthy-sounding names) have way too much sodium, and are very processed, so you have to be careful of that. Like most processed foods that try to push their health benefits, they emphasize one thing (low calories, low fat, low sodium) but may not be that healthy overall.

I don't eat frozen meals, but I live off of frozen veggies. A bag of brocolli stir fry doesn't take any longer to zap in the microwave, but it's a whole lot cleaner (cheaper too :)). I'll mix them into scrambled eggs and top with salsa and black pepper or just throw some pre-cooked chicken and rice on the side. I also stock up on bags of chopped onion and green peppers and throw those into any and everything that I possibly can.

I don't eat them often, but maybe once a week at work for lunch. Works for a hot lunch when I don't want leftovers and don't want to go out. Not the best food nutrition-wise but I could do a lot worse at a fast food place. Cheaper too. I normally eat it with a piece of fruit. Fills me up til afternoon snack time

oh yes frozen veggies are a staple here esp. during winter months when most of our produce is pricier. i still by produce when making homemade soups b/c nothing can top fresh for fresh soups. but for regular dinner sides i make green beans, stir fry mixes, broccoli, and my favs peas and carrots.

I rarely by anything like these. I don't really consider them clean, and the packaging is a nightmare. There are exceptions of course.

I don't know anything about the quesadilla but I avoid them. The Smart Ones meals that I checked out had between 500 to 900 mg of sodium  so never bothered to look at any more. I usually pre cook and freeze some meals but I like Kashi and Organic Bistro for emergencies.

Organic Bistro's Wild Salmon with broccoli and cranberry pilaf has only 80 mg of sodium. Although I admit that I usually add a little bit of herb salt :D
