Did horizontal conditioning Vol. 2 and had to laugh...

I wouldn't call HC fun, but it's challenging. I love challenging workouts. I like to challenge myself, that's where HC comes in. There are people out there that do get a dread factor with it, though. Most people like to do "fun" workouts. I like to do "fun" workouts, too, but I also like the more challenging ones. I don't know why they wear hats, either I couldn't wear a hat either. It would really bug me.

Cheryl

When I previewed the clips, I thought there would be a huge dread factor for me. Now that I have done them, I cannot wait to do them again. Time flies by and they are a challenge for me.

One person's "dread" is another person's "fun." I might be a weirdo, but I find that really challenging workouts are "fun" for me. Some people might see Cathe's Hiit (esp. 40/20) or Tabatacise as having a certain dread factor while for me, I consider them to be fun workouts. HoCo is also like that for me. I find them fun and, like you, they seem to go by quickly for me.

I would just like to clarify that I never said I didn't like challenging workouts. I'm a cathelete after all. Some workouts do have major dread factor for me though regardless if they're challenging or not. Like Hard Strikes for instance. Not a hard workout, but I don't like it and have recently started subbing other workouts when it comes up in a rotation. From the clips, it just looks like a workout I would prefer not to do. To each their own. :)

Didn't even consider these, for the most awful reason, can't stand one of the background people. I know that's awful. I think I only have one tape that has that problem, the only reason I kept it is that there's a Janis Saffel workout on it too.

Sometimes - you just have to look away. Sorry, for those of you who like it. For me it was like, no way.

Finished the first week of my horizontal conditioning rotation!
This week was
Cathe's HITT 40/20
Vol2
Cathe's CardioSupersets
Vol2
Cathe's TurboBarre(no abs)
Horiz. Cond. Bootcamp

I may be too optimistic but I think I see some improvement in my lower abs already.

The bootcamp workout is hard!! But Vol.2 was almost doable:rolleyes::roll eyes: Definitely couldn't do all the reps.

Right now the novelty factor of something new is overruling any dread factor but maybe with time there will be. This week the time just seem to fly by! DH did the workouts with me so that helps with motivation! I'm really committed to doing 6 weeks to see what my results are.

I also wonder what is up with the hats??

Would love to know what rotations others are doing with these workouts.

LOL! To all those who couldn't consider these workouts because of the hats. I hear you. Wearing a hat while working out would drive me berserk.

I feel the same way about P90X. I've watched that infomercial and thought...no, no thank you, but thanks, no.

I'm personally grateful for the poster who explained that the production values were nothing like Cathe's...we are truly spoiled in that regard...

I kept my expectation of that low and hoped that the workouts would challenge me and be different enough that I would actually use them instead of consistently blowing off core work.

They've lived up to that expectation for me so far. I do love the depth and variety of core DOMS I'm experiencing..;)

I have had incredible lat DOM after at times! Especially after volume 3.

And to those with the hat/production value complaints - I totally agree. However, after doing them for months I've found I spend so much time horizontal these things don't even bother me! If it were something like Cathe's HiiT or weights it would probably bother me more but honestly I don't even see the screen much!! :) And she's so sweet and southern and I call her nasty names ;)

I've had Vol 1 for awhile now but finally just did it. There was a little dread factor keeping me from trying it because I had such a hard time with her beginning Get Rolling workouts with a stability ball. Those 2 workouts are only 20 min but the 2nd one especially was just so hard for me.

Vol 1 is a great workout :) So glad I took advice from other Cathelites here to just try out the different volumes. I was able to modify where I needed too and I actually completed the whole workout (with a break or 2)! Yea  I did not have a body bar so I used my barbell bar plus 2 really small plates (making it around 6.5lbs).

I think the next one I try will be either Vol 2 or 3. Not going to attempt 4 for quite awhile because it uses the stability ball.

You ladies got me interested so I looked at clips and started checking out her sttie. I just found out she teaches classes at the YMCA about 30 min from my home. I am gonna call about trying a class. I've already order about $160.00 dollars worth of video for the year LOL. I need to stop spending ....

I'm a fitness addict;)

Jealous! You'll have to say HI to Sandra from all of us on the forum ;).

I also finally just caved and joined her monthly club so I'll be getting all of the Year 2 workouts and the current Year 3 ones. Can't wait! :D

I have volumes 2 and 3, want to get 1 and 4. Bootcamp looks ridiculous. But I am looking for a new challenge since running is kind of off the list now (torn disc). How long is bootcamp? I may do that or P90x.
