Damage Control November!!!

HI Ladies,

I ended up with the illness that's been going around my house. No workout yesterday and probably not today either. I'm debating on whether or not to do week 3 of the cleanse. I don't feel as prepared as I normally. I'm going to look through the grocery list. I also feel the need for more protein with the heavy lifting of STS.

Beth-When do you start PT. The therapist will show you the proper way to roll your IT band and probably the glutes, hammies and quads too. Yes, it is very painful on the tight side. Did you try rolling the non-tight side? I could roll the good side, but the one that needed it - I had to work my way up slowly to being able to roll like the other side.

Hi to LL and Tina!

Hi all,

Hi, all

I've been keeping it pretty simple around here-smoothie for breakfast, veggies and tea for snacks, salad for lunch, and either salad or a soup (made with veggies of course!) for dinner. My appetite has decreased, Diana, so I'm not as hungry and can do the cleanse. I'm so glad I tried greens in my smoothies-I didn't think my blender would grind them enough, but it does! If you are lifting heavy, you must need more protein. Listen to your body! Workout wise I'm just walking and getting over 10,000 steps a day. Between my left shoulder (icing that) and stretching the right IT I don't dare do any formal exercises. I start PT today at 11 so will get a more formal program to do.

Diana, sorry to hear you got sick. Take care of yourself.

Hi to LL and Tina! What have you guys been up to?

Beth

Hi!

Hi!

I got great news from PT. The problem is the sacro illio joint was "jammed". It's basically the joint between the hip and the sacrum. PT said I probably injured it last spring-when I first noticed trouble driving. He released the joint and now I have flexibility exercises to do to see if it stays unlocked. I go back Thursday to find out. PT said this is totally fixable and I'll be able to do regular workouts again-maybe in a month. Happy day!

Hi Ladies,

I'm so stuffed up, can't wait for this to go away. I did BR Day 24 with the 10lb vest (struggled through) at lunch and finally got back to STS-disc 19 CST. Yesterday I walked outside between meetings. My work schedule is overwhelming. I worked until 8pm to get my work done. I'm in meetings all day and cant

I'm just going to use the food I already have at home. I will loosely be following week 3 but adding in protein. Heavy lifting makes me hungry.

Beth-that is great news!!! I'm so glad the therapist was able to fix your problem. I've been adding greens to my protein shakes for a long time. I'm missing my post workout protein shakes.

Hi to LL and Tina

Hi ladies,

Yesterday was STS disc 20-legs and today was BR Day 26. I'm feeling pretty awful right now though. I think everyone in my house is sick. I hope this bug moves out soon.

bbl to see what everyone is up to.

Hi all,

Hi all,

Walking continues. My joint locked up again on Wed. Went to PT on Thursday and got it unlocked, stretched, and put heat on my back. Friday I went for a cortisone shot in my left shoulder-doctor thinks I have tendinitis in my shoulder. Just doing lower body stretches and walking now. We talked about how stressful nursing can be on nurses' bodies. PT did say that this joint problem is totally fixable so that gives me some hope. DS1 starts his job, Monday! DS2 will be home next week for Thanksgiving.

Diana, hope your bug leaves asap! Last year DS2 brought strep throat home to me. I've been able to maintain my goal weight through Nov. so far. I was just thinking this morning that I haven't had cereal for breakfast since last May! I don't really miss it anymore. Eating fresh feels so much better. I do think the colleges helps since it's extra protein.

Off to watch soccer!

Beth

Hi all!

I've been on an XTrain kick lately. Yesterday was burn sets bis and tris. Today was going to be super cuts but I just couldn't get up this morning! Thursday was the barre portion of Legs. Wednesday was the barre section of Legs. Tuesday was tabatacise 1 with core. Monday was burn sets CBS. Last Saturday was clb premix 1-6 or something like that.

This weekend Hubby, JTrain and B are on a retreat in the Poconos with church Fall Fling for 4th and 5th graders. JTrain is a jr counselor.

I'm trying to get motivated to clean and then make my annual many loaves of pumpkin bread and then go to a friend's to help them clean their house (renovating before moving in). And I'd like to make some lip balm and body butter with essential oils. I better put some peppermint on the roof of my mouth for energy.

And not to mention going thru outer clothes for the boys and try to sell stuff on my local FB yard sale pages. Too much to do and I'm tired and not motivated!!

Diana, feel better soon!

Beth, sorry about the shoulder issues. I've been having pain here and there. But I'm hoping it won't turn into anything serious.

Hi all!!

I think I did XTrain legs barre section only on Saturday and they nothing until today and I did ICE boot camp timesaver upper and core. I like that mix. I will have to see if there is a lower and cardio premix. I tend to do TTM on thanksgiving. Not sure yet tho. I have run out of my protein powder and have not had the energy to workout hard and longer than 30 min. But I have kept my wt down to 171 ish which is good. I would like to lose another 10 at least. But it is slow. I'm thankful that I'm not at 180 anymore!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hi Ladi

My last post didn't save. Oh well. I've been sick for the past week. Last Thursday was my last workout. I spent the day in bed Saturday and missed my great nephews 1st birthday. I'm finally feeling better and did STS disc 21-Back & Biceps. I may be able to tackle a cardio w/o tomorrow morning.

I took a few hours off on Monday to pick up DS1 from the airport for his layover. His Grandma and I took him out to breakfast. DH was able to come early from work and they watched the Bronco/Saints game that was recorded. It was wonderful to have a few hours with him before taking him back to the airport.

LL-you are doing great! I hear you on the slow weight loss. At least you are holding or losing, both are better than the alternative. TTM sounds like a great TG w/o! I have two more workouts to finish the BR 30 day challenge and I'm still getting through STS.

Waving hello to Beth and Tina.

Hi Diana! Sorry you have been sick! I hope you feel better soon!

Today I decided to do CF less impact instead it TTM.

Happy Thanksgiving![emoji884][emoji884][emoji884]

Hi all,

Hi all!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I made a cranberry cheesecake for desert. Good thing since my parents ate most of the pumpkin pie before we all got there! They are to the point where they have pie for breakfast, I guess.

Diana, sorry to hear about your being sick. Glad you got to see DS1 for a bit. DS2 has been home and we're soaking up time with him in between his going out to see his friends and sleeping. Having the dog keeps him on a better schedule though so maybe the dog is a good thing?! Our cat has been relegated to the basement and she is not happy. So, I go down there and hang out, too. Been getting a lot of wash done this way!

LL, glad you're seeing 170's again! Slow and steady weight loss is best for maintaining it! Your are killing the workouts lately with all the Xtrains and TTM-plus running after 4 kids!

I've been doing my 6 stretches and going to PT twice a week to work on the soft tissue around the joint-which is super tight so it makes my back and my piriformis tight. Work, heat, stretch, repeat. Those are my days. I did get to the pool yesterday which made it feel better. One day at a time.

Hi Ladies,

We woke up without heat on Thanksgiving morning. The service folks came and looked at it last night, and we need a new furnace. It's not surprising, the furnace is 22 years old. The new one won't be installed until Wednesday. We are using space heaters until then. It's a whopping $7K. There goes our new shower. This is what happens when we finally feel we are getting ahead. It would have to be done before we could move anyway.

My eating hasn't been the best this past week. I've gone from not eating much due to being sick, to eating all the yummy holiday desserts. I did workout on Thursday-BR RTC Day 29 and the next STS disc. Nothing to report for yesterday. I'm going to give the last day of the BR 30 day program a go today and the next STS disc. I signed up for the ab challenge at the gym. It's nice to have the extra motivation. I missed the holiday holiday hold'em sign up-this is the one where you just have to maintain your weight over the holidays. It costs $35 and if you are within 2lbs of your initial weigh in you get your money back. I'm going to contact my coach and see if I can still get in.

Did anyone do any black Friday shopping? I ordered Ipad air 2's for the girls. I got a great deal on them, ordered online. I'm going to venture out later to Target, either today or tomorrow.

Beth-glad you are finally get some relief. DH is finally on the "let's move" bandwagon with me. We are working on things that need to be done in order to move. Yayyy. The furnace expense is really setting us back though. We did a 6 months same as cash and will probably have to take out a home equity loan to help pay for the remaining expense and to some additional updates.

LL-how was your Thanksgiving?

What is everyone else up to this holiday weekend?

Hi Ladies,

Today I did STS Disc 24 and BM2 Cardio Blast. It was really fun to do a Cathe cardio! My left knee has been bothering me a bit lately. I noticed it hurting when I was carrying the laundry basket upstairs. Hopefully it will just work itself out soon.

DS2 and I went and looked the model house I wanted to see. I really liked the layout online. In person though, the house is much larger than we would need. The we went and looked at the model that I thought was too small. It's actually probably closer to the right size for us. If we finished the basement it would have 4 and possibly 5 bedrooms. It doesn't have a powder room on the main floor. All that means is that guests would have to use a bathroom that is also shared by 2 bedrooms. But if we finish the bedrooms in the basement and put the boys down there, it wouldn't be an issue.

What is everyone else up to this weekend?

Hi all,

Hi Ladies,

Keeping up with physical therapy stretches and walking. Added in clamshells and reverse clamshells at yesterday's appt. Also did side to side with the band around your ankles-I'm picking it all up real fast since I've done it with Cathe! There's a lot more strengthening work at PT and it lasts an hour so I get a little workout in twice a week. PT is really stretching out the tissues-hurts so good. I'm basically doing a Monday/Thursday schedule for it with twice a day stretching in between. I'm also eating 100% whole30, but not drinking 100% (more like 95% since I like a glass of wine just about daily). I'm off on vacation this whole week-cleaning after having the dog here. Plan to decorate, get my hair trimmed, and have a big family dinner planned here Sat. night for my aunts and uncles who are in town for hunting/shopping. Sleeping in as long as I want and feeling good! This morning I searched for menu items and came up with a cheese platter in the shape of a Xmas tree, a trifle and fruit compote for deserts, and decided to make spaghetti (regular and squash) for the main course (with whole30 meatballs/sauce). I sound more organized than I really am. I'm struggling with coming to Cathe's website and reading about everyone's workouts and the new workouts coming soon and it gets me really sad that I can't do any of it. It's hard.

Anyway-I hope your knee stops acting up, Diana! It seems like it's one injury after another around here sometimes-if it's not me it's you. I have to come to terms with not lifting heavy and avoiding injuries and I don't like it one bit. Too bad about the furnace. Our radiators/pipes are going one at a time. Who knows what this winter will bring. We had to have the furnace here fixed already last month. Your new house sounds lovely.

Off to finish my laundry!

Beth

Hi Ladies,

This morning I did the BR ABC Day 2 and OT (overtime), and STS disc 23-legs.

We found out we need some electrical work for the new furnace to pass inspection. Now we are up to $8200. UGH. To make matters worse, DS3's jeep needs new brakes. I said to DH, what's another $500 when are already paying over $8K.

I just found out that DS1, his SO and daughter will be here for part of the Holiday! :) I think they will be here from the 17th to 21st. DS1 will be here longer with the girls. I fly out to get the girls on the 17th. I think I'm going to let all three girls decorate the tree on the 18th.

Beth-great job following whole30! I need to get back to that. I'm working on cleaning up my diet after Thanksgiving. Enjoy your vacation! Glad to hear the PT is helping. Seems I always have some kind of ache or pain. In most cases, my aches/pains don't prevent me from working out. I've been seeing more results with heavy lifting and HIIT w/o's (BR), and would see even better results if I cleaned up my eating. Can you really not do any w/o's? Even a light workout might feel good and have a major impact on how you feel. Have you looked at the Low Impact series? I hope you heal soon. {{HUGS}} Perhaps we can just do a food check-in. What do you think? I know I need to work on that.

Waving hi to LL and Tina.

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday was a BR w/o and STS legs. Today was another BR w/o. I had to work through lunch and work late, so my weight work will have to wait until tomorrow.

bbl to see what everyone else is up to.

*waving hands frantically* I'm still breathing. My days consist of working, working out, walking dogs, dinner, and bed. I haven't even had time to log my workouts into the manager. Just a snap shot of the past two months. Everyone up and quit the barn, which left me and my boss, then my bosses son was murdered, which left me and some awesome volunteers to manage the horses, my DH's awesome grandmother passed away :(, DH injured his leg at work, DH crashed his bike running over a river otter, injuring his hand, and DD broke up with her fiance. This is my first real day off in a long time. We're on the second week of Meso 3, and still managing to bike a few days a week.

I will be back after to read up on what everyone has been up to. I've missed checking in with you.

Omg Tina, I'm so sorry to hear about all this awfulness going on in your life. HUGS I'm keeping up with my workouts, I've doing the long version of STS and am also on the second week of Meso 2. Hang in there.

Anyone get the Strong and Sweaty? I got it last week and have done all o the workouts! Today was total body giant sets and it was awesome, went so fast and it was hard!

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

Hi LL! Yes, my discs arrived a few days ago. I did Cardio Slam with my granddaughters, and Bootcamp yesterday. I'm still finishing up the 6 mos STS rotation so I probably won't do the other S&S discs until I finish. Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas.
