Damage Control July :)

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday I mustered a 3 mile run...it was ugly...and then did GS BSB. This morning I rode 15 miles. My legs are tired and I'm not sure exactly why. It could be from leg day several days ago or just adjusting to running more regularly. I was hoping to open water swim this morning and try out my new wetsuit, but my legs were too tired to swim.

I wish my bike ride counted to toward my 10K steps.:p

Wendy-awesome job on BURPEE HELL!:D

LL-40/20 is my least favorite of the HIIT's. I'm always afraid I'm going to trip when doing this w/o in the morning. I tend to use DWP much more frequently. Great Job!

Tina-yep, definitely enjoying this time off! My new job starts on Monday and I'm planning a rest day. The first day at any new job is stressful enough. I don't want to add more stress by worrying about getting to work on time etc. My legs are feeling fried too. Hope DD is recovering well from her oral surgery.

Jacque-I here you on the sore legs...sounds like we all got it going on! Nice job getting it in early!

Hey Ladies.

Yesterday was 60 minutes of Combat Kickboxing.
Today is a rest day.
I worked this morning and this afternoon, signed a contract with a real estate agent to put our house up for sale a couple hours ago :D and soon we are going out for a belated B'day dinner for DH tonight with his family.

Busy day so BBL!

Hi all! Just a quick check in, I did CF low impact tabata, XTrain Bis and Tris yesterday and today I did AOLIH with core (modified because my side still hurts from June 7th's street hockey injury, I had to do full sit ups 3 times a slow...) and I did the 100 hip thrust challenge!

Hope you all are having a great weekend! Back to my belated anniversary date with Hubby!

Tomorrow we are in Philly most of the day for the last day of my son's missions trip so I'm not sure if I'll get any exercise in. We leave at 9 and won't be back before 4.

Here's the blog if anyone is interested. :)

Hello ladies,

Not a good weekend for me - UGH! Sinus headache y'day and today so no workouts. In addition it is hot and muggy so not motivated to see if I could workout with a headache.

Oh well, hoping to get back to it tomorrow!

Wendy - sounds like you aren't looking forward to your workout . . . sorry about that. Good luck with the house. Just getting a bigger one or changing areas? HB to DH.

Diana - such a bummer when you go for a run and your legs are *dead*. At least you got a nice bike ride in. Hope tomorrow goes well for you!

LL - Nice wo yesterday. Are you sore from the hip thrust challenge? I haven't done any of those yet. Almost did the biceps challenge but changed to PUB instead last week.

Tina - what a long bike riding day you had on Friday. Did your legs survive this weekend? I like the sound of your rotating Cathe weight workouts on a weekly basis with the circuit follow up week. Interesting . . .

Until tomorrow . . .

Hi Ladies,

Well I finally got up and did Days 7 & 5 of the BR 30 Day challenge. Day 5 is abs, an easier w/o so I did the next w/o which was Day 7. It was about 85 minutes in total and I'm much more beat than I expected to be. I still have to mow the lawn.

I'm excited and nervous to start my new job tomorrow. I'm sure it will be just fine.

Wendy-Hope you find the house of your dreams! DH and I looked on line at some houses this morning. He wants to move from our 2 story to a ranch, and closer to my new job. Hill Sprints-OH MY:p You can do it! Happy Birthday to Sal! Enjoy your family dinner.

Jacque-sorry about the sinus headache disrupting your weekend plans.

LL-sounds like you are on a roll with your w/o's! I read some of the blog. It's nice for the younger kids to see what an impact they can have. We have a lot of volunteer opportunities through my job and it's such a nice feeling to help those in need.

Tina-how is DD doing? How are your legs feeling?

Today's work out plan but it won't happen until later on this afternoon...

Day 11 - S-POWER - Super Level « Workout of the Day

Apparently the work outs repeat themselves which means the dreaded hill sprints are coming up again soon too.

BBL!

So I took the work out above and re-created it into my own 3 timed mini circuit routine as follows...

9@40/20 of Broad Jumps, KB Deadlifts, Push Ups.
9@40/20 of KB 2 arm Swings (subbed in for hip thrusters), Plank to Push Ups, Sand Bag Walking Lunges (subbed in for farmers carry).
6@40/20 of Burpees and Manmakers.

Today was a quick bike loop. I had to take my back up bike, my good bike is having mechanical issues. I was .1 mph slower than last time I did this loop. I'm going to finish off with M2W3 C,S,T and some abs. DD is still really not feeling back to herself yet, so we shortened our weekend miles. She looks like a puffer fish. :(

Diana, good luck today! I hope you love this new job. It's so stressful to learn a new routine, I hope it goes smoothly. :)

Jacque, I hope you're feeling better. :)

Wendy, what is a Manmaker?

I did yogamax last night and LIS Trisets, lower body. Wow that was way tougher than I thought it was going to be!! The sweat was pouring off of my and and I was huffing and puffing! That was a lot more cardio than I expected. So that said, what cardio am I going to do tomorrow? I was thinking about LIS Athletic Training or after burn for a tough one or slide and glide for a lighter one, or maybe a couple of x10s. Not sure yet. But I really have liked NOT following a rotation. I've just been alternating heavy wts and cardio (mainly diff. HiiTs) and throwing in a yoga when I feel like I need a break or rushed or tired. That way I don't feel behind!

Fit mommy, those spartan workouts look tough! I looked at the link you sent. How long does it take you on average?

Rmrmr, they really had a great week! JTrain is super tired so he went to bed early and was still sleeping when I left.

Fem bot, I need to get back on my bike, it's a nice change of pace. I just discovered that there is a 11 flat trail near me. I would have to drive 5-10 min to get there but there is a wegmans halfway to stop and have a break.

Sunshine, I was sore the next day from tho hip thrusts! You should try them!

Tina:: Here's a link to the manmaker exercise: Spartan WOD: Manmaker - YouTube

LL:: The work outs seem to average 45 minutes. I've cut back the ones that run longer then an hour so far though....I'm just not THAT into it!:p:rolleyes:

Diana:: So you start your new job today right?? How exciting!!! You must report back and let us know how it goes! :D

Evening ladies !

Woo Hoo - woke without a headache so up and at 'em early for my workout: PUB sans ab work. Last week was just PUB up only so felt good to go all the way through the UB work. Stuck with Cathe's weights so felt happy since it is only my second week of weight work! :p Tomorrow will be cardio.

Diana - nice job on the long workout BEFORE mowing the lawn. Bet that made for a very tired day! Do tell how your first day went when you have a chance. Cool DH wants to move closer to your work! Wish I could say that!

Wendy - I am so confused  with "9@40/20" . . . exactly what does that mean? Regardless, it sounds extremely tiring. :p What is the story for selling your home? Curious minds want to know . . . :D well at least mine.

Tina - bummer about your bike but great job on keeping your time so close! Sorry DD is not feeling well - sounds a bit painful . . .

LL - Wow what a great workout you had yesterday. Interested to hear what your cardio day was like today. LOL at Wegemans half way on the 11 mile ride! :p You sound like me !

To all: I IM'd Laura to ask how she was and she said she is taking it one day at a time. Didn't go into any detail . . . Sure hope she gets back to her self soon!

Until tomorrow . . .

TUE

Hello - yes I am alive - sorry I have been MIA - too much stress - too much BS - too much everything- surgery went well - recovery was not as bad as my last surgery - think I went back to work too soon tho - I should have taken so more time - DH worried about me - no appetite - weight loss - SO TIRED - nerves shot - freezing one minute burning up the next - tummy still not cooperating - it is all STRESS related - he wants me to check in with the DR - I may if I dont see improvement soon. :(

I got the ok to start back to exercising SLOWLY - so I tried - pi-Yo UB - WOW I was REALLY weak - I am not used to that - my arms were shaking - of course my core was weak and had to be careful not to pull/tug/strain that area - I had to MODIFY    some of the moves - I may not have time for anything today - I have a hair apt this afternoon (maby that will lift my spirits_)

Jacque - thanks for checking on me - it has been a bit tuff to say the least!! I will be so glad to get my life and health back!

Di - how is the new job??? I hope you are loving it and settling in nicely!

Wendy - tearing up the workouts as usual - sooooo where are ya'll moving to??

Hello to all that follow - I will try to be better checkin in ... ;).. have a great one!

Popping in before my dentist appointment to say LIC premix #2 done !

Speaking of weak (Poochy ), my legs are not used to step at all. Definitely need to work on that before the RT ! I can, however, feel them tightening up a bit compared to last few weeks - YAY !

Laura - sorry to hear about the stress. Anything you can do to alleviate it? Sometimes it just is not worth it, right Diana ! ;)

BBL to check on everyone !

Hi Ladies.

No work outs for me the past two days. I've been de-cluttering/cleaning like a mad woman!

Laura:: Moving one town over either to the left or to the right of (north or south :p). If we are 10 minutes from our current home after we move it will likely be a lot. LOL.

Jacque:: We are moving because the town is crap and we want to give our son a better place to grow up. We also have outgrown our tiny home. NEED.MORE.SPACE.!!!!

Diana:: So??? How's your first week on the new job going, missy??? :D

BBL!

Good morning Ladies. Today's workout will be STS legs, disc 20 I think. I'm on week three, but due to DH's vacation schedule, I'm going to repeat week three next week and then do week four. I want my rest week to fall on the same week he's home. I've ridden my bike for four days straight, I'm looking forward to a day off. Plus, it is TOO HOT to ride.

Welcome back Laura, happy to hear you're on the mend! :)

Diana, so...how was the first day? It's so hard to move out of a comfort zone and start fresh. I hope all went smoothly. :)

Off to complete my workout. BBL. :D

Ladies !

This morning was PLB and it was a sweaty mess ! We'll see if it brings me some DOMS.

Wendy - I remember saying years ago you wanted a larger home. Bummer the town is not a good one but at least that is just one more reason to get a new place ! You mentioned lots . . . I remember Jen's new home! Would that ever be something you would do? Thinking your de cluttering is exercise too - especially if you are moving for hours at a time ! :p

Tina - Hope STS went well for you this morning. You are better than I am . . . if I needed my break a week later I would probably skip two weeks somewhere! How hot is it where you are?

Shout out to Diana, LL & Laura.

Today was Amy Bento's Body Box. I finally did clean windshield wipers, my hand never touched the floor. :) I'm planning to take a bike ride w/ DH tonight. I only need three more miles to make 2000 for the year.

Jacque, I hope you woke up with DOMS this morning. I love those Pyramid workouts!

Diana, thinking of you, I hope you're not too overwhelmed!

BBL

Hi Ladies,

I'm still alive. The commute is a lot, a minimum of an hour each way. Last night it took me 90 minutes to get home leaving the office at 4:30. When I left at 5, it took me an hour. Leaving at 5:45 also took an hour. I'm going to try leaving at 3:30-3:45 today or tomorrow and see what that's like.

Monday was a planned rest day due to the first day of work. I've done the BR Days 8, 9, 10, Tuesday-Thursday. Getting up at 5:15 and starting my w/o by 5:30. Eventually I will need to back that up even more to something around 4:30-4:45. It will be dark at that time so I'm not sure how I will fit in my HM training which starts next week. I could try to switch the running days to run in the evenings...not sure about that though.

I'm sorely lacking on the swim training for my tri. I didn't sign up for the swim class like I did last summer. I just wasn't sure about the timing with my new job. I did get my wetsuit in the mail last week so I can at least do open water swimming on Saturdays.

Tina-Nice job keeping up with STS and all your riding? How is DD doing?

Jacque-nice job keeping with your w/o's. What time do you exercise in the morning? This getting up over an hour earlier is taking some getting use to. Next week I will try for 5am and start my w/o at 5:15.

Wendy-I'm also working on decluttering, much more over the last couple years. We still have a lot we can get rid of though. It would be easier if DH would help as a lot of it is his stuff...in the garage, the master closet, the basement...etc.

Laura-glad the surgery went well. I had to leave my job of 24 years due to all the stress it was causing me. Now I have a long commute, but the people seem really nice...my stress is driving on the busy highway everyday and working 32 miles from home. My previous commute was 15 minutes. Eventually (after 3 months) I will be able to work from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

LL-Those x10's are no joke. I've done the whole thing twice and my shoulders were super sore....on top of the hardcore cardio!

bbl

I spent 40 mins on the treadmill this morning after teaching my a.m. class. It's my first work out since the weekend! I did hill sprints which was the next Spartan Race Training work out I was due for. Tough stuff!

Evening ladies,

This morning was 3 mi on the TM, a little faster pace than recently so I was happy. :p Legs were not sore from PLB but this afternoon a little tight after sitting for a bit. :D Next week I'll explore a different weight series or perhaps do STS plyo legs and not worry about weights. Those always made me sore !

Tina - nice job on the w/o . . . and can you explain windshield wipers? Way to go on the YTD miles for you! WOW that is like two thirds the way across the US !

Diana - Good to hear you are alive and kickin'. So sorry about your long commute. That is one thing I have to say about mine is 35 miles in 40-45 minutes is not bad at all. Goes very quickly. Good job still getting workouts in. I set my alarm for 4:45 to give me a little time to wake up and, actually, just about that time my puppy climbs up for a little snuggle time so that helps too! ;) Usually start my w/o around 5 or a little after and typically go anywhere from 30 - 45 minutes. That give me enough time to feed animals and get ready for work so I arrive shortly before 8. I used to wake around 4 on my own but have been sleeping all the way to alarm time lately - YAY me!

Wendy - nice job on the TM AFTER class ! Uphill sprints are tough. I remember doing the Cardio Coach w/o's and they were definitely sweat fests.

Laura & LL - hope the week is going well for you.

Happy Friday (very soon). I took the day off since I didn't do squat with my headache this last weekend. Garlic Festival is this weekend and DS2 & GF will be down so need to get stuff done.

Toodles . . .
