Damage Control July :)

Hi Ladies,

Nothing to report for yesterday. The day just got away from me. I did mow the lawn and do laundry.:p

Today I plan on doing legs and the next BR w/o. I also need to pull up my tri training schedule and get going on that. I'm going to hang on the refrigerator!

bbl to see what everyone else is up to!

Great weekend with family we hadn't seen in 25 years. Eating was NOT GOOD, but had a blast. Sunday we managed a 59 mile ride and some sunset kayaking. Today was STS and yoga abs. I goofed on Saturday and did the wrong STS disc for back and biceps. I'll just reverse them this week.

I've planned a 20 mile bike loop that I'll practice the next few days and do some drill work. I want to do some time improvements and this way I can compare each five mile sections. Loving my Garmin read outs. :)

Off to purchase the preorder, I don't want to miss out on that! :)

Good evening ladies,

Very tired this AM so ended up working out when I got home. By the time the animals were fed and played with it was getting late. Legs still sore so opted for PUB up only. That 25 minutes left me a sweaty mess. Went pretty heavy for me and on a couple exercises could not quite finish the last short set so guess they were the right weights selected. Hoping for sore biceps as they haven't been sore in a looooonnnngggg time.

Diana - yard work is much better than sitting around. I was pleasantly surprised the one or two times I kept my HR monitor on and saw the calorie burn. Hope your workout went well today.

Tina - glad to hear you enjoyed your family time. That is one of my favorite things to do. Have had two nephews come down to CA from Idaho the past few months and DD was here for a few days with her SO. Has been much fun! Sounds like you got some good calorie burn in on Sunday to make up for the eating!

Hello to everyone else. Happy beginning of the week and it just gets closer to Friday every day! :p

Hey Ladies. :)

Finally got back on track with Spartan Training y'day and it was a doozy! I am pretty sore from it and today's work out looks even worse! I'm gonna love it! ;):p

Here's what I did y'day:: Day 5 - S-STRENGTH - Super Level « Workout of the Day (I subbed in burpees for the rowing and skipped the run at the end. I was admittedly out of gas!)

And here's today's torture session:: Day 6 - M-CKT - Super Level « Workout of the Day (I will again sub in burpees for the rowing and not run because I am not doing this work out outside in this putrid humidity if I don't have to!)

Gotta get my arse movin' so I'm not late for work! BBL with personals!

Just finished my splits ride. It ended up being 22 miles and took me 1:22 to complete. Average speed was 17.2 and elevation gain was 1142. Not too bad for the first run. The weather today is really muggy and spots of rain. I can't wait to try it again. May not be until Thursday, we're in a flood watch. :(

I'm so excited for Cathe's Hiit program! Timing should be perfect for this fall, cycle season over and STS complete. :)

Wendy, your training program looks awesome. My neighbor and my cousin are both doing Spartan races this August. My hats off to all of you. :)

Diana, I hope you're enjoying your time off. You must be getting nervous for the start of your new job. Sound like a great excuse to do some clothes shopping. ;)

Laura, I hope you're feeling okay. Let us know how you're doing.

Hi to everyone else. BBL.

Hi Ladies,

I met up with a gal I met on the Daytona Trip thread who lives in the same city! I ran to the park where we were meeting and then we walked for 3.5 miles and then I ran home. It's so nice to meet other Cathletes in person!

Today will be full of phone calls to check on all my benefits stuff, roll over 401k requirements, cobra (insurance) etc. I'm also taking the car in for an oil change and cleaning out the filing cabinet/shredding. Shredding may have to be done tomorrow while DH is gone. If we had an office it wouldn't be an issue, but the shredder is in the kitchen.:p

Wendy-you are rockin' the Spartan w/o's! Those are perfect for the football field by my house!

Tina-Nice ride! I'm looking forward to having some bike tools so I can have a baseline and work on improving it. For now I just push hard when I can, and I push myself much harder when riding on my own than with my training partner. I've gone clothes shopping a couple times, nothing ever fits. (tight in butt & thighs/gaps in the waist) I hate shopping. I do need some clothes that aren't falling off me though.

Jacque-sounds like you are back in the w/o state of mind. :D

Laura-how are doing? Are you back at work? What kind of restrictions do you have? Hope all is well.

Waving Hi to LL.....

OMG Day 6 of the Spartan Training Program was CRAZY (I got 14 walking lunges into round 7 when the 40 mins was up and I did 90 secs of burpees in place of the running/rowing) and Day 7 looks even worse!!!!:eek::eek:

Day 7 - HiLo75 - Super Level « Workout of the Day

I will run tmrw but IDK if 60 mins is going to happen! Maybe I should take this one to the gym and use the treadmill in the a/c! Hmmmm.....YES!I think that will be the plan! ;)

Ok so I'm thinking about getting the new DVDs but was wondering if I decide I want to get cathe on demand, will I be able to get my money back if I cancel the DVD order? Does anyone know?

No wo in today, wasted time on the computer when I should have been working out. Yesterday I did do TTM all the way through. Love that on!

Hi to all that follow! Going to try to post my question in other forums and hope to get an answer before midnight!

Hi Girls.

Ok so not sure if I will be able to work out today or not. :( I have work, food shopping and a trip to see "Earth to Echo" in the movies with my son because I promised him all before I'll have any chance at all to exercise so we'll see....My legs, btw are SORE from y'day's workout! OMG!

LL:: Yes you will get a full refund on your pre-order as long as you cancel prior to shipping. I know. I've done it couple of times. No worries. :)

Diana:: Wow you must be getting so excited for your new job! Have you gone out to buy a new outfit for your first day yet? :)

Tina:: Where are the Spartans that your cousin and friend are participating in? Do you know if they are Sprints, Supers or Beasts?

Jacque:: So did you get your wish for sore biceps after your workout?

Laura:: How are things at the asylum?

BBL!

thanks, fit_mommy, I didn't do anything last night, but I can't see where the price has changed yet. I'm stilling trying to justify the purchase!! Hubby doesn't get why I want to get it!

Hi Ladies,

I ended up with a blister from running the last 2 days, no running today. I could feel it after the first run and intended on running in different shoes on the second day. It rained and I was afraid the trail could be muddy and I didn't want to get my new shoes dirty...UGH.

Today I did BR Day 4, and PP lower body premix. I haven't done legs in a long time and my legs were shaking on the 3rd round....and I was only using a 50#bb. I used to do this w/o with 65#'s. I'll get back to weight training in the fall.

Wendy-enjoy your 60 minute run! I remember the day you ran 18 miles! Those Spartan w/o's are kick a$$ for sure! I did shop yesterday....did I mention I hate shopping....why can't anything fit???? Of course I went to Kohl's again....I think I will try Penney's although I think they may carry the same brands.

LL-I preordered and am so looking forward to them. My DH doesn't mind since I use my w/o's almost every single day and have for over 20 years. If they were sitting on a shelf getting dusty it would be a different story. Let him know how convenient it is for you to be able to workout at home. Good luck.:D

Waving Hi to Tina....Hope all is well with you Laura.

bbl....off to get a dermabrasion and facial!:D

Hiya ladies !

Yesterday went by so fast I never made it here. Did do TTM sans compound exercises since I was already sore from the days prior. Sure made me realize how out of shape I was for a cardio session! Today was out of the house before 6 AM so no w/o and such a long day I am taking a day off.

Wendy - sure sounds like you are hitting some really serious workouts there! Someday when I am looking to watch TV rather than a wo DVD perhaps I'll pull one up on my laptop and try it out. They remind me of Cross Fit workouts. How was the movie?

Diana - So cool you found a Cathlete in town! I dislike clothes shopping also and pretty much just pick up things where I grocery shop - Costco, Walmart, sometimes Target. Did some Kohl's online shopping a couple weeks ago with my 30% off coupon. All from the Clearance section so tons of deals! :p Am really trying to keep to 6 w/o's a week with cardio and weights. Only 30 - 45 mins per session but hopefully I can gain stamina and find time to lengthen them in the next couple of weeks to be ready for Daytona! I am so excited and had my PTO approved today. Woot Woot!

LL - Thanks for the reminder about TTM - it was fun to do it the other day. LOL about spending w/o time on the computer. I have to be very careful or the time just flies by! I happened to check on the Cathe forums just in time to make the pre-sale. Haven't been here for months and months - glad I did cuz that's when I saw Diana was going to Daytona and figured it was just karma for me! I figure a couple of sets here and there is less than a gym membership and for me, DH plays hockey at $10/wk plus his gear which is crazy expensive and I am the one saving $ in this household. :D

Tina - sounds like a great bike ride the other day. We have had the muggy too and I can't stand it. Hope you had a chance to try again and beat your time!

Laura - hoping all is going well with you.

Time for dinner and bed for me!

Yesterday was M2W2 Legs and the bonus legs from M1W2. I added in LL&A premix of chair, band and barre. I had DOMS by bedtime last night. This morning I went out on my splits run, but forgot to hit start on my bike computer until I was 1/4 mile down the road. I'd say my timing was just about the same, which I'll take, because my legs are so sore today. It hurts to cross my legs.

Diana, I hope your blisters are all healed. Your skin must be glowing today. :)

Jacque, I was just thinking about how I need to purchase TTM soon. I think I'd really like that one. Enjoy your rest day. :)

Hi to all. :)

Hi Ladies,

Well I covered my blister and wore my new running shoes...5.3 beautiful miles this morning! I'm heading down for GS C&T, and some ab work. I missed my weigh in yesterday so will have to do it tomorrow. Today I was down 1# from yesterday...weird.

Tina-you must have legs of steel!:D I struggle with lifting...especially legs during tri training because I don't like my legs to feel heavy or like jello when swimming/biking or running. I love treating myself to a facial a few times a year.

Jacque-TTM is a toughie...love it though! Once I get my work schedule/commute time determined, then I can figure out when to get my w/o's in. I'm still leaning towards mornings, even though I may need to get up a couple hours earlier. I just don't think I would do it at the end of the day. That would cut into my evening time with DH & kid(s).

Hi Laura, LL & Wendy!

50 Burpees interval style (a 30 second rest after every 10 burpees) and a 30 minute run....DONE! AROO! :D (and I did the push up on 40 of them and the jump up on all of them too!)

(No, I would not have made it through 100 burpees and a 60 minute run and I am not too proud to admit it!:p)

Hello there !

Well I was lazy this AM so ended up waiting until after work to do my Cross Fire (thanks to reminders from LL!:p). DH has hockey on Thurs nights so I don't need to deal with dinner! I so love my Thursday nights with no one to think about but me (after the animals are fed that is . . .).

Tina - I would love to use my STS again but doing an entire rotation around the long workouts is not my "style" now that I have hit my "older years" so may throw them in here and there and shorten them by a round or two. First I need to get a little strength back in the old muscle fibers since my workouts have been so sporadic for a couple of years! Woo Hoo for sore legs! Tomorrow will be Lower Body Blast for me and I can pretty much guarantee I will have the lovely lower body DOMS this weekend.

Diana - I haven't hit the road for a run for a couple of years and always remember how fun and relaxing it was. The more I see what the rest of you do for your workouts the more I get inspired. (well maybe not Wendy's rough and tumble workouts! since my body is asking for a break these days). I have used the TM quite a bit recently so just need to move it outdoors. As much as I love my AM workouts, sometimes I am just too tired to get up. Doing better and am aiming to try harder as it is easier to get them done and out of the way PLUS it gives me more energy at work for sure. 4:30 comes early when you don't get to sleep until 10 or 11 though . . .

Wendy - Way to go with your pushups and jumping burpees ! Then a 30 minute run . . . you are my hero ! My poor shoulders and back make for v e r y s l o w burpees these days. I can do them but just don't pop up as quickly as I did a couple years ago. I am hoping I can get some of my agility back by working out more regularly. We will see as I attempt to get into better shape before the Daytona RT!

Shout out to LL and Laura . . . sure wish I knew how Laura was doing . . . tried checking her FB page but didn't see anything there . . . anyone else heard?

Happy Friday Eve girls . . .:D

Hi all!

Busy week here with being a chauffeur! But I did XTrain CBS and today I did HiiT 40/20. That on is really hard! I had to modify things... I need to go to sleep but wanted to check in. I hope to do XTrain BT or butt and guts/some leg one. I forgot to mention that I met a fitness competitor while picking up my son from baseball camp and she lives down the hill from me and is a personal trainer and does customized meal plans. She will do the meal plan for $40, macros? Is that counting fat carbs and protein? And $30 per at home training. Would you all think that's worth it? I'm thinking no to the training but maybe for the nutrition? thoughts?

His fit mommy, sunshine, poochy, rmrmr and everyone else!

DH talked me into meeting him on the backside of his bike ride last night. I was really sore from the a.m. ride, but decided to just pedal easy getting to him. I'm twelve miles from the house and my legs are toast and I'm thinking, "why, why, why do you do this to yourself". And then, here comes DH with four other guys from the bike shop. I asked them not to wait up for me, but they're so nice, they wouldn't hear of it. Long story short, I can barely walk this morning.

DD is getting her wisdom teeth removed this morning, so I'll be laying low today, playing mommy nurse. I'm hoping to get some STS in if she sleeps.

LL, the presale only increased by $10, still a great deal! ;)

Wendy, 50 burpees sounds like torture! I'd be passed out.

Diana, way to go on the double workouts. You must be enjoying this time off. :)

Jacque, I've done STS in portions too, I really enjoy mixing it up with other rotation styles. I did a few months alternating weeks between XT, GS, and STS and would take the fourth week to do circuits. Geez, Cathe knows how to spoil us. :D

Laura, we're starting to worry about you. Chime in when you can. :(

Happy Friday Fellow Cathletes!

Popping in to say I got up early and did Lower Body Blast as planned. Holy Cow! Feel like I had less than 12 hours between workouts.

Me thinks I may be using the cruise control on my commute to work this AM. Legs are feeling wobbly.

Off I go. BBL. Enjoy the day.
