Damage Control July :)

Missing Everyone and my workouts !

Hello ladies !

Blast from the past who definitely needs to get back on a workout regimen. and chatting with you ladies!

Age and stress with work have totally kept me a good 10 lbs overweight with ugly fluff all over.

I've had a few good months here and there with at least a few w/o's per week but not nearly enough. ITA with Laura that as we age, cardio only helps me for a week or two and then I need the weights or I hit a plateau. And no simple carbs - lots of protein.

I only hope I can get some of the tone back so the skin won't sag so much !

Have read up a little and see Diana you have a new job! Woo Hoo! Are you excited for the new venture? When I saw your post the other day it reminds me of my work schedule & commute. I have been tired in the AMs but awake early enough to still leave by 7 and get to work before 8. All in all 11 to 12 hours away from the house doesn't leave much time for anything else. Your post egged me on to get up today and workout. before work. I started Hip Hop Abs to try to get my jelly belly less jiggly but think I will have to add weights, probably starting next week. Been off for too long ! Nice job on your rides/runs/races, etc.

Wendy - sounds like you are FT into training now? Way to go ! And you are loving it I am guessing?

Lori - Congrats ! You totally look amazing ! Are you working now?

Laura - It has been fun seeing your FB pics ! Cool you could get in so much fishing and catch a ton !

Hello to LL and Tina. Guess I will "get to know" after a while. Sure hoping to get back here at least a few times a week.

Until later . . .

Hey Ladies...

I am sore from the hill sprints y'day! Knew that I would be!

Here is a link to the work out I have to do today! I'm askeered!

Day 3 - S-CKT - Super Level « Workout of the Day

Jacque!!!! You've come back!!!! YAY!!!!:):D:) So yeah, I quit my full time office job in May and have been working as a trainer in 4 different places! Still don't have enough hours (believe it or not!) but it's slowly building. Have to tighten the financial belt for a while to offset the smaller paychecks right now but in the long run it should be worth it!:)

Laura:: I saw your fishing trip pics on FB! WOW - one of those fish was HUGE! Holy crap! Glad you had fun!:)

Di:: I don't mind snakes but wouldn't want to come in contact with a wild one. Sounds like an experience that you won't soon forget.

Tina:: Sacagawea is DH's name or means DH in another language or...??? 20 miles is a long time to be lost on a bike!

BBL!

Hi Ladies,

I didn't workout yesterday. I woke up late and just wasn't feeling it. I kind of want to run this morning...we'll see after if finish my coffee.

A gal from work took me to lunch, I tried to get out of it. I've felt awful ever since. It was just Olive Garden and I had minestrone soup and salad. I'm guessing it's from the pasta in the soup.

My work team is taking me to lunch today. I really didn't want a lunch, but I'm sure it will be fine. I'm trying to stick with salads to stay within my WW points, but I haven't been tracking consistently. I've plateaued and need to buckle down if I want to get the last 10#'s off.

Wendy-those are some tough w/o's, they sound like my bootcamp classes! I didn't sign up for June or July bootcamp though due to tri training and swimming class.

Jacque-so glad you popped in! Yes, I'm finally leaving my company after 24 years. The time was right with Jerod graduating HS. I'm not sure yet how this will impact my workouts. I may have to switch to evening w/o's which may be tough. I'm going on the Daytona RT this year in October!

LL-you definitely are not getting enough protein. A banana with PB is good for a snack, but not substantial enough for your breakfast meal. If you're to have a smoothie for lunch add some protein powder. It shouldn't be grainy with all the fruits/veggies you have in it. You can modify the meal plan to fit your needs. I usually have 1 whole egg and 2 egg whites with diced bell peppers over 1 C of wilted spinach, topped off with half a tomato (diced).

Laura-I too saw your pics on FB. Do you have to process and freeze all the fish? Do you cook it all first and then freeze it. That was a ton of fish. I bet DN is super happy with his BD gift, he's one of the big guys now!

Tina-what are you up to...hope your not lost on your bikes.:p

TUE

having RUFF morning .. and had RUFF night ... did nothing but have nightmares all night ..:mad::confused::( ... pray for my sanity .. and my blood pressure and my marriage .. .. surgery tmrw .. pray that I make it thru w/o any problems!!

I did heavy weights at lunch ystdy - then I did SeanT live (was similar to T25 cardio) - then i did a Zuzka summer ab challenge .. I was thoroughly worked out ... doms: shoulders, lats, and bis .. re: SeanT live - I bet he is getting ready to launch a live series like Cathe .. for a subscription price of course .. prbly testing the waters ... see how the responses are .. I loved it! short and sweaty!

Wendy - I gotta check out your workout - gotta be tuff if YOU are a'skeered!

Hello ladies !

Thought I would come at lunch as I need a break - too many times I am using the wrong names to address people in my emails!

Workout this AM was HHA again. Not as sweaty this week as last week. May start adding on a body part with weights per day or do something after work if I have time. Feeding and playing with animals these days takes a bit of time in additon to watering the garden due to the warm weather lately and my lack of setting up my drip system.

Wendy - yes your workout today sounds grueling . . . burpees are getting tough for me these days - I have a hard time popping back up. Hoping more consistent workouts will help and it isn't just old age creeping up on me! Sounds like you are enjoying your new "job" and I am totally envious as I think I would love doing something similar but need the bennies my job provides my family. And the age thing may make a difference in getting clients. :p

Diana - Hope you feel better soon . . . Wow, Daytona ! I stayed up last night until after 11 perusing the Cathe forums and saw that trip sign up was in May so guessing it is full. Wish I had popped in earlier as I would have joined you in a heartbeat ! I have played with my workout times but don't have the energy very often after work. Weekends are spent doing chores and typically one out of the two days are my "sinus headache" days at this time of the year.

Laura - hope all goes well with your surgery tomorrow . . . anything horrible or just routine? Still tons of stress at work? Ever thought of changing jobs? Mine comes and goes and for me it is the fact that I am a perfectionist (along with not being organized enough with all the balls I keep in the air!). How is hubby doing these days?

Shout out to Tina and LL. Will probably check in later so I can create a habit of checking in again. Hopefully the exercise will follow !:p

Toodles . . .

Today was Bodyfit 360 and a quick 30 min. bike ride. This month I'm going to follow STS as a M/W/F routine and try to increase my bike miles on the alternate days. My goal is to make 800 miles this month. Yesterday I did M2D13 and tacked on the floor work (tri's, push ups, and core) from Turbo Barre, it was a great complement to disc 13, Chest, Shoulder, and Tri. I like the stretch on this disc too.

Hi Jacque, welcome back and nice to meet you. :) Sounds like your falling right back into a great workout strategy.
I'm 47 with two teenagers, 17 & 19 and a house full of pets. I've been married to my DH for 25 years and we keep from killing each other by cycling together and working opposite schedules. ;) Do you have children? What kind of pets do you have?

Wendy, Sacagawea is DH's nickname. He has a habit of getting us lost, always wanting a different route. My MIL swears she can trace their family line back to Pocahontas, so he gets called that as well, usually in the context of "nice going Pocahontas" or "that's the last time I follow Sacagawea". He has other nicknames as well, but they're NSFW.

Laura, good luck with your surgery. I hope you bounce back quickly. :)

Diana, how nice everyone is wanting to take you to lunch, they must really adore you. :) Are your GD's still visiting with you? I hope you're feeling back to your kickbutt self soon.

LL, I'm not a huge fan of protein powder, but use it this time of year with the extra workouts. A juice blender is a must for me, I can't have any lumps or bumps, ick! EAS Whey Protein blends pretty smoothly.

Hi Ladies,

I just got off the phone with my darling girls. They are at their gate at the airport.:( I'm going to miss them so much.

My team took me out to lunch yesterday, bad belly still. On top of that I didn't sleep well. I'm happy to be leaving that place.

I'm thinking Intensity for this morning, but am not sure.

Tina-I don't think my butt/lady parts could handle all those miles. What seat do you have? I need to get a new seat and want one with the cutout in the middle. That would probably help a lot. Do you have one of those?

Jacque-the Daytona RT isn't full...so go sign up and we can be roomies again! Cathe Friedrich - 2014 Daytona Beach Road Trip - Columbus Day Weekend I'm flying out Thursday and come back on Sunday. Once I know what hours I will be working then I can determine when to fit in my w/o's. I'm thinking they will have to be earlier in the morning...sometime between 4:30am-6am, starting no later than 5am. I don't think I will have the energy in the evening either...after sitting in traffic for an hour or so.

Laura-hope your surgery goes well. Do lots of deep breathing exercises to help with your BP. {{{HUGS}}}

Wendy-I didn't realize you were doing another Spartan race. Go Wendy!!! The park we have our fireworks at is the same park where we do bootcamp class...I sort of miss the hill running.

LL-what are you up to? Honestly I do not miss the hectic lifestyle I had when my kids were little. It is so much better now. I was a stress mess back then.

Hi all!

Tomorrow I'm looking forward to golfing tomorrow with Hubby, my stepfather and CDawg and then dinner, which I think will be Cheeburger Cheeburger. Do any of you have those where you are? Great burgers and milkshakes. Tons of calories! I was feeling icky a little bit yesterday but not bad, I was able to do everything I needed to. But I didn't get in a workout. But I just finish CF for the first time all the way through! I've always done a premix. It was super tough in some parts, but it seems like when I get to those points and it's often only 15-20 min into a workout. But if I push through, the rest is easier, odd.

We lost power again last night for a few hours. I was already thinking about what non DVD workout I could do, if needed. Thankfully it came back on in the middle of the night.

Poochy - sorry about the nightmares, that's terrible! Hope the surgery goes well! Sounds like you got some great workouts in with SeanT! I actually had a really good lunch at Olive Garden in Jan. I told them I had just come from the doctors and that he said I needed to lose 20 pounds (all true) and so I told the waitress that I wanted fish and veggies with no butter or oil just seasoning and it was sooooo good! I had their salad will olive oil and lemon, I may have passed on the cheese too.

rmrmr- I think my food that day was due to not feeling well. I do try to have a protein at lunch and dinner at least 3oz usually more. Breakfast it just depends, I love eggs, but bread with pb and applesauce or sliced banana is sometimes easier. Right now the week is kinda slow. JTrain is a jr counselor at Construction Camp at our church where B is a camper. I had to drive them on Monday and only B yesterday. But they are staying at my mom's since she lives less than 10 min away while I live 30. Today Little K woke me before 7 and I've been pretty lazy, finished a book, did laundry now I'm making omelets for lunch after doing CF. I'm not sure what this afternoon will look like, my guess just trying to catch up on bills and look at budget stuff and some school classes for next year. Tonight is my WW meeting, hopefully I lost that pound I gained last week! Next week I'll only have Little K for most of the week: JTrain will be in Philly for his missions trip, B will stay at my mom's again for Ambasador Soccer camp at church (but have to come home Mon and Thurs for baseball practice (he made the travel team!), CDawg will be here again, but will have baseball camp 9-1 M-F. So I'm hoping to get a mother's helper for at least 2 of those mornings so I can work on cleaning out the school room and doing school stuff. :)

Fem bot- your DH nicknames are so funny!!

Jacque-Hi! I'm 43 and a stay at home mom, 15 yr anniversary tomorrow!! Hubby and I have 4 boys: Jtrain is 13, CDawg is 10, B will be 8 later this month and Little K is 3.5 and crazy!! I had to get more locks installed because he would go out the front door and climb the tree!! I also homeschool them. I have 20-25 Cathe DVDs and try to eat clean but I struggle with that a lot!

Good Morning Ladies.

S.H.I.T.!;)

My Spartan Training work out from the other day was just as crazy as it looked! Twenty minutes of hell! I loved it though!

Y'day was a rest day from race training so I did 40 minutes of Combat kickboxing. I was also supposed to go to Karate last night but I was running late at work and just didn't wanna.

Today it's back to training with this:: Day 5 - S-STRENGTH - Super Level « Workout of the Day

I am working this morning starting at 8am so I'll get to it this afternoon probably...Wish me luck!

GTG for now. BBL with personals!

Hi Ladies,

I made it to my WW meeting yesterday and am 3lbs from free! I also tracked all my food yesterday. I need to get back to that. My plan is to find a new WW location near my new job so I can continue going at lunch. It looks like there may be one within 5 miles of my new office.

My mammogram results indicated I need additional testing. Hoping it's nothing. This morning is an ultrasound and if necessary an MRI.

This morning I'm doing one of the BR 30 day challenge w/o's. My belly is not flat like it was when I was doing the challenge. The intervals and all the ab work included really work for me.

Wendy-good luck with the Spartan w/o!!

LL-Happy Anniversary!!!! DH and I will be celebrating 26 years in September. I'm back on track with WW and tracking...need to stick to it.

Laura-hope your surgery went well. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Hi Tina & Jacque!

Yesterday was a 25 mile bike ride and STS Legs. This morning was another 25+ bike ride. We have family from Ireland staying with us for the next two days, so I will be taking two rest days, YAY!! :)

Diana, I'm sorry to hear about your mammo results. I had the same thing happen this past winter and it was pretty stressful. Mine ended up being a cyst, which I'm prone to getting on my ovaries as well. Crossing my fingers everything turns out okay for you and you can avoid the MRI. Sorry to hear your girls are back home, you must be having withdrawals. :( Congrats on the WW weigh in!!
The bike seat I use on both my bikes is a women's Specialized Lithia Comp Gel seat. It fits my sits bones perfectly and has a minor cut out. I think it retails for about $100 at the shop, but you could do better on line. If you have a good bike shop near you, they can also measure the width of your sit bones and suggest the best fit for you.

Off to scrub my house. Hi to all. : )

Good evening ladies,

Yesterday was a total blow out at work and at home so never made it here. Today at work was not any better so before I deal with the work I brought home  I figured I'd head here first so I didn't miss again.

Yday was Ab Sculpt and added XT Bi's & Tri's rounds 1-5. Tri's are sore but not my bi's. :( I lifted as heavy as I could to get the reps in so guess I need to go heavier and go a few less reps to gain some ground.

This morning I didn't have my phone near me and slept too late to w/o - very tired also. With work too busy I'm opting for a rest day so I can get some office work done in hopes tomorrow won't be overwhelming.

Tina & LL: Nice to "meet" you both. I am 56 yrs and used to be an avid exerciser in good shape. Last couple of years not so great and pretty out of shape with lots of added fluff. Want desperately to get back to my "better days" which has gotten harder this decade for sure! Am married the second time around coming up on 14 yrs and have 3 kids: Son #1 is 29, married and has two boys 7 & 5, Son #2 is 27 and Daughter #3 is 25. # 2 lives a half hour away, #1 & GK's are 2 hours away and #3 is 8 hours away :)(). They are all doing pretty well for themselves so am thankful for that! We had a momma cat adopt our backyard for two litters of kittens last year. One from the first litter stuck around, momma came back and then had 5 more. I socialized them as soon as I could and we found homes for 3. 2 little girls stuck around but one has since been scared off so we still have Maddie (taken from "madre"), Pikachu (big sis from first litter) and Tiffany (one of the twin girls from the second litter). They recently received a "little brother" black lab, Colby, who is now 9 1/2 weeks old. Out of 4 birds of all sizes from Macaw down to lovebird, we have only one Amazon lstill iving who is now 25 years old. So a small menagerie at our house. That is definitely enough about me for now . . . :p

Tina - do you and DH ride races or just for fun? Sounds like you definitely go on long journeys. Do you go to far away places or stay pretty close to home? DH and I met playing hockey - he still plays and as you can see by my signature, we are San Jose Sharks hockey fans with season tickets. We thoroughly enjoy going to most of the home games. Are your kids still at home? WOW - 25 miles, STS legs and then 25 miles again? My legs would be rubber with a capital "R". Have fun with your family!

Diana -<positive thoughts> regarding your results. I was checking out flights and see I'd have to get in Thurs evening and wouldn't be able to get out until Monday unless I left at 10 AM on Sunday AM. It seemed to be quite pricey for the round trip - what was it from Denver? I haven't tried too many different ways of getting there more cheaply but did see the boards said to go to Orlando. Would also need to keep payroll in mind as it is due the following Monday. Let me see what I can figure out! Good to hear you are doing well with your eats and back on WW. Is your new job very similar, will it be challenging or more of a lateral move? Good to hear you are happy you made the move. So what is BR challenge?

LL - how was golfing today? I golfed quite a bit when I was a SAHM and my oldest was interested. It was so nice to get out and walk around a beautiful peaceful course. CF meaning Cardio Fusion? Great job getting all the way through. Sounds like you have quite a busy household. My brother has 5 boys and my SIL homeschooled them also. That is definitely dedication and I have to say, all 5 nephews were always quite a bit ahead of my kids in school and have done very well for themselves. Kudos to you!

Wendy - so was that an acronym or just a polite way of spelling? What race are you training for? Hope your day turned out well . . .

Shout out to Laura with <recovery vibes> and Lori with her new trophy! :p

Hi Girls. TGIF! :)

Yesterday ended up being a rest day. Had to go food shopping and that left no time for a work out. :(

Today is another busy day but I will try to get something done... I am working from 8-10 this morning and then I have an appointment somewhere else at 11:00am. After that I am picking up DS and MIL and heading to my mom's for an afternoon by the pool. Tonight we are going to a friend's house for drinks but I should have time late this afternoon to work out.

Di:: Sending good vibes your way for "clean" ultrasound/mri results! (((HUGS)))

Jacque:: S.H.I.T. is an acronym for "so happy it's Thursday!". :)

Tina:: Thanks for the DH nickname explanation! That's funny. :D

Hi LL!:)

Hi Ladies,

Today is my last day at work, and my exit interview is at 1pm. After that I'm done. I'm a little sad, but it is the right move for me.

My results are inconclusive. Possibly 2 small cysts pushed together. They aren't sure so they want to come back in 3 mos and have another mammo and ultrasound. This makes me nervous because my SIL had a clean mammo and 1 month later was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. I would prefer they do a biopsy and remove the cysts, or at least have visibility in to what is there. UGH

Jacque-BR is bodyrock.tv. Wendy actually turned me on to these types of w/o's years ago. Back then my preference was to either do hardcore cardio or weights, but not really into circuits. I've had the best results with their 30 Day Real Time Challenge. I'm flying into Orlando on Thursday and home on Sunday night. I had to do a lot of searching to get a decent airfare. I think I have your email still and can send you my itinerary. You might want to try Travelocity. How long is your commute? My will be at least an hour each way. I hope to stick to my morning w/o's and just start them earlier.

Wendy-you have a busy day planned! I do like your schedule though....having time to hang out the pool with you mom sounds lovely. There is a happy hour for my going away....I'm having DS drop me off and DH is meeting me there...he will be the DD tonight! He laughed cuz he knows I never have more than 2 drinks.:p

Tina-thanks for the Info on the bike seat. I'm going to ask for a new bike seat, bike computer and cadence sensor for my bday in September. I don't need an expensive computer or cadence sensor, just the basics will work for me.

LL-hope you and DH had a wonderful anniversary!

Laura-hope your surgery went well and you are resting comfortably at home.

Hi all,

Was tired and got up a little late this AM but boss-man was out on vacation today so got to work a few minutes later than usual. That being said, still did my HHA Total Body workout. A little more sweat than the others and think I may feel some soreness tomorrow since I am so out of shape!:D

Wendy - Busy busy but sounds like some fun in between. LOL at your acronym . . . I like "Friday eve" myself cuz my favorite day of the week is Friday. Just ask everyone at work how I answer my phone on Friday's !:p Food shopping over workouts always wins in my house. LOL! You always seem to make up for missed workouts or don't need them anyway.

Diana - hope the day went well. As much as it is bittersweet, I know how long you have been disappointed in your position and the way you have been treated. Remember last road trip years ago? Change is not always comfortable but I bet will be rewarding in the end. My commute is 35 miles, no traffic, not bad scenery through some rolling green hills and takes me 40 to 45 minutes. I don't mind the drive as I organize my day on the way and recap on the way home. It goes fast, but I don't think I will ever get used to the added 8 to 10 hours my workweek has been extended. Somewhere you have to make up for that time . . . And we are so far from anything that we cannot hardly go buy lunch or run errands. Only good thing is it forces me to bring food and so I can eat much more healthy during the week as there is no junk for me to forage.:p I found some decent flights for not too much. Need to check with hubby and boss man. I have payroll to do on Monday and last vacation got stranded. Then I had my laptop but wouldn't take it to Daytona. I'll text you a bit later if you haven't changed phone #s since last time?

Hey to the remaining DC'ers. Hope you have a great weekend!

Just a quick hello here- I tried to do ZWOW 2 Instructions for ZWOD #2 1-26-2012 | litealloy.com

And I literally got 6 min in with a major struggle. Granted I wasn't wearing any shoes... but I couldn't do the competition sit ups because it bothered my side too much...I wonder if that will ever heal... it's been since June 7...

Sunshine (I know Jacque is your real name, but I really like Sunshine as it makes me just smile!) we had a great time golfing! I don't have Cardio Fusion, I was talking about Crossfire. :)

Not sure what I'm going to get in tomorrow. I was planning on STS total Body I even printed out the sheet, but since I missed a couple of days, I may want to do some cardio too. But if rmrmr says wt training is almost more important than cardio...maybe I'll stick with my that STS TB.

Busy day sort of tomorrow: get my 13 yr packed for his 9 day mission trip in Philly and any shopping that needs to be done to get him to our church by 1:30 and then we have friends coming over for pool, dinner, out for ice cream and then back for fireworks. But my morning will be swamped with trying to get a workout in before breakfast and whatever shopping needs to happen...

Hi to all that follow!

Hi Ladies,

Woo Hoo, 9 days off until I start my new job!!!! I have a lot to do around the house this next week, but it will be nice to get it done.

I was planning on going on a bike ride today, but DH has gout and I need to be here until the kids wake up.....afternoonish...seriously. At least I can go downstairs and w/o. I'm planning on doing the next BR w/o and perhaps a weight w/o too.

LL-I would definitely suggest always wearing shoes when working out. Also, don't be afraid to modify to an exercise that works for you. These are short but tough workouts, just modify when needed. I do it all the time due to a shoulder injury, some exercises are just not doable for me. It was Laura that mentioned the weight training...I'm also looking forward to seeing those articles.:)

Jacque-I stuck it out at work to get my youngest son through school. Having a flexible schedule and being close to all his activities was important to us. I'm happy to be outta there. Got your text and emailed you my itinerary.

Laura-hope you are home and recovering...being pampered by DH.

Hi Wendy & Tina-hope you are having a great day.

Good afternoon ladies,

Late getting around but did do STS Total Body premix combo only. Sweat fest and tiring for me but felt good.

LL - LOL - Sunshine is the nickname DH gave me back when we first met. I laugh and smile a lot. Another co worker called me that too and she didn't even know it was my nickname. Hope your busy day today allows you a workout!

Diana - so great you have time off to get stuff done around the house. I am totally contemplating taking a few days surrounding a weekend to tackle projects around here too. Haven't even finished my yard yet and it is mid summer! Not much happening this weekend so hoping to finish most of my gardening "to do's" today.

Shout out to Tina, Wendy and Laura. Lori your pics on FB are Rockin' to say the least. They came out so nice . . .

Enjoy the day . . .

Good Morning Ladies...

Thursday and Friday were both a bust for workouts. :(

Last night I forced myself to squeeze in a quickie after a long day just so I wouldn't lose my mind.

10@30/30 of reverse lunges, 10@15/30 of band lateral walks, 10@15/25 of one arm KB swings.

Today I SHOULD have time to do a regular work out. I hope I didn't just JINX myself!

Di:: OMG, your last day at work came so quickly! YAY!!!!! Soooo excited for you, girl!!!!:D:D:D

LL:: So you tried your first Z-gym work out I see! :) It's been a while since I did her work outs. They always worked for me though!

Jacque:: Don't ya just love it when the boss is on vaca!? ;)

Hi Tina!:)

Hiya ladies !

Popping in quick to say I did quite a few hours of gardening and then a 30 TM interval walk/jog/run w/inclines. Legs are a little sore from yesterday so thought that might help work the lactic acid through a little quicker.

Wendy - at least you did something yesterday even if it wasn't as planned.
Hope you got your "planned" workout in today but if not, oh well. Tomorrow is another day, right?

Hope the weekend has gone well for everyone. Until tomorrow . . .
