Cross Fire - To the Max which is "easier"

Just did Cross Fire and that was NOT easy...it was awesome! Yes the band stuff is hard. I loved it though. It flew by and I was a sweaty mess. Can't wait to do To The Max
Thanks Cathe!

So if you had to say which one of these is easier??

Very hard to say...AS much as I feel these both have a similar metabolic effect, they are set up a bit differently. Crossfire has 2 tabatas inserted between cardio blasts. The blasts are hard, but the tabatas (especially the fire walker band one) are really what pushes you over your anaerobic phase. I really enjoyed To the MAx, especially the step portion that got your heart pumping, but prepared you for the next segment... which was tabata, but then you had 30/20 hiit, which really kept the heart pumping. And then the leg compound segment was a leg burner.

So, as you see, hard to say....both set up differently, but they both give you the same metabolic effect. If you find that you can't complete either of these in it's entirety, I recommend doing the premixes first and adding on segments. The premixes, in the themselves, are great for metabolic conditioning.

I was a wee bit sore after Cross Fire but nothing like what you get from a weight workout. These are very cardio...you are "huffing and puffing" to quote Cathe.

I did To The Max today and i added in the lower impact disk tabata bonus and I loved it!!!

For me I found TTM a little easier than Cross Fire but I'm not sure why.

I love them both!
Thanks again Cathe...can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve next!!

Both CF and TTM will kick your butt!

These workouts are both so much fun!!! Never thought getting your butt kicked could be so enjoyable. I loved the variety, the music, the inspiring crew... WOW! Even though the workouts are the same length without premixes, Cross Fire seemed a little more difficult, because all of the work was standing (when you are not in the air!), and the last segment of TTM was floor work with abs.
Cathe's instruction is spot on with both, as usual, which is very helpful for being preopared for the timing of each of the segments (with tiny rest periods!). Loved the comments too: "I know the tiptoe looks silly, but I don't care!"
Thanks so much for two more winners!

I'm going to switch them this week for that reason and do Crossfire first, Tuesday- To the Max, second Friday. This week Crossfire = hardest (by far) I thinks my legs were just cooked by that point. :p

I'm doing them on the wood floor this week. (EdIt - with the right shoes) Cement's a killer.

Well, I've only done each one once so far but TTM was tougher for me. Don't know if it was the step that did it but I had to take a 1min break in the Hiit section but could get through CrossFire. CRF felt tough but doable, TTM is going to be a challenge.

I thought Crossfire was slightly harder than TTM cardiovascular-wise. But I love both workouts equally. I was pretty sore in the lower inner thigh after those walking plie's in Crossfire. I don't think I've ever felt that muscle get sore before. Leave it to Cathe to help us discover DOMS where we've never felt DOMS before! LOL

I'm going to say TTM was more difficult then CF. I found with TTM I had to take longer breaks between the rounds to catch my breath and lower my heart rate. I was able to go through CF and keep up with the gang, though trust me, it's still a killer workout!

Y'all are scaring me here!!! TTM is on tap for today, for the first time. I have to say that I did CF yesterday and loved loved loved it. And the music was excellent, exactly what I was hoping for. If I know a song, it motivates me to keep working hard. I previewed TTM this morning and the music was in the same genre, so I'm psyched.

Oh my!!!

Okay, I just did TTM and it almost killed me!!!! I sweated even more than I did with CF, if that's even possible. For those of you who have a "little hitch in your giddyup," as they said on an old Lucy show, the workout is plenty challenging without ever going up to 3 risers on each side. And don't miss the fact that you start with TWO risers on each side. I didn't realize that, and actually fell on the first jump. But like a typical Catheite, I iced my knee for a minute and jumped back into the workout ;-)

For me both were very challenging. But in "CrossFire", you can make the workout harder or easier and "To The Max", most exercises had to be done that you couldn't make any easier. If that makes any since.
