Wrong, I am glad we finally get a differing right wing opinion around here. The bashing gets a bit old by the left.

And even though Carol's opinions are not my own, they are not set out to bash, so therefore I read them with interest.

I agree. Whenever things get REALLY ugly just look at how many posts have been made by that member (and there have been others) when the vitriol starts and it's almost always a low number from a newer member (who probably found this board after Googling "Politics"). I thought from the start there's a lot of instigation going on. On the other hand, this is Carola's home. After the election has been a done deal for a month or so and we're all struggling and/or having fun with STS I believe everyone will re-focus their attention and things will calm down. The instigators will get bored when all we want to talk about is the chin-ups in Mesocycle Whatever and they'll eventually give up and search elsewhere for amusement. It's a presidential election year and things are ugly so I think this is to be expected, for now.

BUT please, lets take out the PERSONAL attacks by both sides. As a Moderate Democrat I'm concerned when nobody's allowed to disagree at all and a few people feel attacked. Let's not turn this into THE VIEW. Deep breath everyone.

There are finally some right wing opinions around here and I am glad! Makes me feel not so out of place here.
And I find nothing offensive about Baylian's signature line - I like it.
 
I'm just sorry that children singing about hope and peace, be it for a religious or political cause are considered creepy. What a sad world we live in.

the bottom line here is that just because you were emailed link to a youtube video that you somehow found disturbing, doesn't mean you are required to forward it on.

comparing children singing about peace in this world to hitler's youth who were being trained to exterminate races of people is a pretty twisted view. or course you have a right to your opinion, but dont be suprised with the type of responses you get for it.

the signature line sounds like an opinion founded out of ignorance, and, of course, that is just MY opinion. ;)
 
I think it's sad that people think children should be left out of politics. I think they should learn about politics at an early age.

I've already pointed out Obama to my 5 year old and told her "he's going to be our next president" (fingers crossed).

I have viewed the utube videos but I am not commenting on them at this time because of something else in this thread that has come up.

I do not belong to any other board than this and I read the threads in all of the different forums everyday. I have posted a few questions and have gotten great feedback, empathy, compassion and wonderful support from those that posted a reply.

I own just about all of Cathe's workouts, went on the July Road Trip (met lots of great people, by the way!) - so I am a bonafide Cathe-freak. However, am I to understand by those that have a higher number of posts that I am not welcome here if I post something unpopular?
 
Ahhh - so it seems . . . something also about being a newbie - I guess you are supposed to "ride the pine" as we say in athletics.

Well, that's certainly not my position & I sincerely hope no one thinks that of me. Where is that coming from anyway? Just curious--I haven't seen anyone post that & I hope my comments, directed at a single poster of whose post count I am unaware, are being interpreted that way.

Once again, let me repeat since it clearly did not sink in the first 10 times: you have done virtually nothing on this forum other than post nasty, inflammatory, rude messages. Well, up until today anyway, since I pointed it out you seem to be much more active on non-political threads.

But I'm sure that wasn't intentional or anything. :D

Hey Debbie - Unfortunately, there are a few posters who occasionally call out newer members as "trolls" if they post something that goes against the grain.
