CRACY, STRONG AND LOVING IT January 2016 - January 2020

Today I did Cardio Coach 3 and had a great workout. I like this one, always my go to if I want to do a 40 minute run. I also did about 15 minutes of Yoga Stretch by Karen Voight. I'm really trying to do yoga daily and if not daily at least every other day. Last night I did an 18 minute Yoga for Runners workout that I seen on Youtube. It was pretty good but I should have found one that was a half hour. I needed more yoga. Finding the time is the hardest to do, of course. By the time I get done with dinner and clean-up, it's about 7 p.m. I don't really want to worry about stretching and yoga this time of the day since I just want to wind down and sit for a while.

Workout was 40 minutes, ran 2.87 miles, burned 371 calories and went 5764 steps. HR was 151/183.

I looked at the last time I did this workout and my stats are almost identical. Even step count, I had 5765 last time I did this workout. LOL!!!

Roxie - Nice job keeping up with your workouts!! You are doing great!

Nora - great job with your workouts, you always have such high calorie burns, I bet you can eat anything!

Belinda - Great job on your Barre workout. Those have never really been my thing. Glad you like doing them! :)

Debbie - I'll be honest, barre was never my thing either when I started working out with Cathe. Once I tried SBF and Booty barre I was hooked. Plus, I really like the results I get in my lower body/upper body. Change is good. Nice job on your yoga and Cardio Coach today.

Today I did STS Meso 2, Legs and had an ok workout. My right knee was really bothering me today so I had to stop early. Very frustrated as they have not been bothering me lately. Not sure what happened?

Trisets - 3 times through each triset
Wide Stance Squats: 20's/10 reps
One Leg-Elevated Lunges (BSS): 15's/10 reps
Wide Stance Deadlifts: 25's/10 reps

Static Lunges: 15's/10 reps
Plie Squats Alternating Hand: 25#/10 reps
One-Leg Slide Back Lunges: 12#/10 reps (these hurt bad)

Stiff Leg Deadlifts: 55#/10 reps
Side Slide Lunges: 12#/10 reps
Narrow Stance Squats: 20's/10 reps
Only did 2 sets though with this one, had to stop on the third set. Also skipped the calf raises

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 224 calories, HR was 113/143

Jumped on my treadmill for 1 mile, burned another 127 calories, went 2430 steps and HR was 107/126.

I am loving that cookbook I purchased - Run Fast, Cook Fast, Eat Slow. The recipes are awesome, easy and have wonderful taste!!! I love the Mug Cake recipe, great snack at night. Calories a bit high but I am making it work. I love this book!!

Hoping to get some yoga in tonight. Really need it.

Love hearing about this cook book Run Fast Eat Slow. I looked it up on amazon there are two, one was done in 2016, and the other in 2018 and has Shalane Flanagan and her friend and co author Elyse eating pasta. Which one do you have I'm intrigued by the mug cake, LOL!! Please let me know.:):D:D:cool:

My right knee is really bothering me, I did a yoga workout last night and could not do runners pose. When my knee went back and rested on the floor a really bad pain went through it. I've had this happen before and it will go away, but I'm bummed that it's back. I think it started when I went to church last Saturday and knelt down, that really hurt. I keep thinking "I'm too young to sit during the kneeling part of church" but I might just have to start doing that. Putting pressure like that on my knees is not good.

So today I decided to just walk on my treadmill. Even though running does not hurt when I have this type of pain, I didn't want to take any chances. So I walked and then did Yoga Stretch by Karen Voight. Love that stretch.

Workout was 40 minutes, burned 252 calories, went 2.01 miles and did 4346 steps. HR was 111/127.

I haven’t said anything but two and a half months ago I started suffering some wrist pain I can’t even lift the grandkids or hold the baby without pain so it has made lifting difficult so yesterday I went to the doctor and found out I had tendinitis and she gave me a cortisone shot hopefully that will help but I can’t lift heavy for three weeks so just boxing and kickboxing for a while.

Roxie- Sorry to heat about your wrist and tendinitis. I'm glad you went to the doctor and got a cortisone shot another thing that might help is a wrist splint, it velcros on so you can take it off when you want but would hold wrist in place while it heals and gives support for that wrist to help in the mean time. You don't need to wear wrist brace all the time just when it usually bugs you. I wore mine during the day only. Its an option to think about. I understand this will limit what kind of workouts you can do like sticking to walking, running, kickboxing or boxing. Hope your wrist starts to feel better soon. Today I had a really good workout doing STS Meso 2, Back & Biceps, although I think I could have gone heavier with all the exercises. I didn't want to rush it with the heavy lifting just yet as I know it will progress as the weeks go by. Still had a great workout. Had one interruption with our two cats fighting each other because a stray cat was outside. This happens on a frequent basis and it is so scary. They call it "displaced anger" and they fight each other thinking they are fighting the cat outside. There was fur everywhere. I really hate when that happens and I wish we can figure out a way to keep stray cats out of our yard.

Anyways, workout was good:

Wide Grip Chin Ups: 12 reps

Close Grip Chin Ups: 12 reps
One Arm Dumbbell Row: 25# - 12/10/8 reps

I don't usually like doing preacher curls - although they used to be my favorite exercise - because they really hurt my elbow. I didn't hyper-extend and it didn't feel too bad.

Roxie - So sorry to hear about your wrist!! Ouch. Hope the shot helps.

Debbie-my doctor said my job is causing the wrist problem and won’t get better unless I change things up.

Nora- I have been wearing a brace for the entire time mostly at night.

oday started STS Meso 2 week 2 and I worked Chest and Shoulders, I know Triceps is on this workout as well, but I'm doing that Wednesday when I do part of the Leg workout. This one has back off sets, which I really like.
