I am so tired this morning, can't get moving. We went to our neighbor's house. Lot's of fun! Didn't get home until 3 a.m. Got to know a lot of nice people.

Cookie- my foot still hurt after the elliptical? I don't get it? At least I got a great workout in, lol. I can't wait to do Hard Strike. Glad you enjoy the new workouts.

Off to read get some more coffee. BBL! I think my workout has to wait until later tonight, lol.
 
Good Morning and Happy New Years!:)

Anyone have any nye's resolution's? We didn't do anything last night. We don't know anyone...so what could we have done? Lol I didn't have a problem with this anyway. To me ny is over rated. I don't care to get all dressed up. The last few years we've spent it with dh's family so it's been pretty lameo!:eek:

Yesterday's workout was 4 miles and GS shoulders. It's suppose to be a bit warmer he today so I may attempt a run outside. It's not the cold that bothers me as much as the fact that they don't seem to clear away the sides of the roads here. A few days after a snow fall at home, the snow would be melted enough to run outside and most of the st's were pretty wide. I don't ever think it gets warm enough here for the snow to melt! I'm also debating running another marathon this year. I use to complain that I had to travel so far to run...where here I am! So now what's stopping me?;)

Belinda** sounds like you had a good time last night! We were in bed shortly after the new year rang in. I even had a nap before that! Lol

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! :D I cannot believe it is 2013!!!! I barely made it to 12 o'clock last night. I was closing my eyes right before the ball dropped, lol. My older DS made it though. He was determined to stay up. This morning I read through the Xtrain guide again, and I did ALL Out, I loved it! I love Hiit workouts, but I don't like all the impact. All Out is perfect in my opinion. My heart was racing, but I wasn't jumping every second. Just loved it. I also did the 100 rep challenge on that one, the scarecrows for the shoulders. OUchy! I am going to feel it. I also did 1 RM testing for my chest, biceps and triceps. I thought I would need to update these because I did my 1RM testing way back in January 2010! I have made some gains. The only thing I am nervous about is if I exceed 20# on chest flies or presses, I start to feel pains in my shoulder and sometimes my upper back too. I am not sure if it is that my form gives way to lift that heavy or what. I will try my best, and if I feel it hurts in a bad way, I am lowering the weight. Today we are going to my borther's fiancee's parents house. Should be fun. Then back to work tomorrow. It kind of sitnks that I was basically sick during my entire winter break, but at least I didn't have to take the time off, right?

Lori- My resolution is really our whole family's respolution. . . to save money to get into a bigger house. I am hoping we stick to it. I also want to keep my positive thinking (started that in the beginning of the school year, and it has worked really well for me as far as reducing stress).

Belinda- I have Hard Strikes on tap for tomorrow ;). Loving the new series. I am starting the 90 day rotation on Monday!! Well hopefully, if they have the rotation and workout cards set up by then.

Hey girls, Happy New Year!

My DH and I both ended up passing out around 9:30 last night. We watched a little bit of Dick Clark's special and that was it:confused: We are such party animals:rolleyes:

I started Xtrain's 90 day undulating rotation this morning with Chest, back and shoulders. I couldn't finish the entire thing so I did rounds 1-4. Really had a good workout. Next time I will have to increase my weights though...I never reached failure:eek: Perhaps I should do those 1rep max test?

Monday was 30mins of Afterburn and Sunday was a power walk.

Belinda-Glad to hear you had a nice night at your neighbors. Sorry to hear you foot is still bothering you. I'm icing mine as I type this :rolleyes: the pain is constant:( such a PITA;)

Kristin-I can't wait to try All Out! Glad you enjoyed it and nice workout. Im not sure what a scarecrow is but it sounds pretty intense. I also try to practice positive thinking, it really does make the day more pleasant. Love the new years resolution.

Lori-Nice workout girl. A marathon sounds great! Did you decide on a run outside today?

Cookie-Hard Strikes is another one I can't wait to try. Did you have the pink boxing gloves on? I wish I could order them...maybe I will sneak them in the mail in a few weeks. ;)

Deb-How was your New Years? Did you get your DVD's?

Im so glad the holidays are over. sigh...now we just have to wait on Spring to get here:cool:

D34 is done! I am super tired today, go figure. LOL! We had a blast last night.

Amelia - have fun with the 90 day rotation. Can you go up in weight, maybe 2-5 lb?? See how that feels? How do you do cardio with having pain in your foot? No matter what I do, I am hurting really bad? Just don't get it?:confused:

Kirstin - glad you like ALL Out. If you have pain doing chest flies or presses, maybe lower your weight. You shoudn't have pain in your shoulders? Train safe! I read some reviews on Hard Strikes today, lots of high impact. I really wanted to do that one. Arrr...

Lori - good job keeping up with your workouts. I never stick to new years resolution's, lol.:p

Cookie and Debbie - how are you feeling today? LOL!

Belinda, do you have a rebounder? I did some of the moves on it for Hard Strikes and it wasn't bad. Maybe i'm just getting used to have a sore foot. Glad you had fun last night.
Amelia, you sound like me normally! We did make it til about 1:30 surprisingly. I don't have the pink gloves, red everlast ones that came w/the bag.
Kristin, I have to be careful of my form and wts w/shoulders. I'm feeling doms from the burn sets today. Like the positive thinking resolution and it helps reduce stress.
Deb, are you recovering from celebrating last night?
Lori, bet there is a running group and that would be a way for you to meet some people, if they can keep up with you.
Did burn sets - chest, shoulder, back and am feeling it! Saw Les Miz today and am in love w/Hugh Jackman! Had friends over last night for Chinese food, laughs, and Trivia Pursuit.

I'm in! I just got Xtrain! And a spin bike! I hurt my knee in Oct had to be off of it all Nov and the holidays derailed me. So I am back at it!
 
Hi,

We had a lot of fun and laughs at my in-laws. I did overindulge and paid the price last night of course getting sick & a bad headache. I barely recovered before we went back to my in-laws today for the rest of the relatives to visit
by but it was catered some work but not as much as last night.

So yesterday as I was leaving to go to my in-laws X-train showed up I brought it with me so I could open it:eek: I love the packaging, & am dying to get a workout in, tomorrow may be too busy but I will be reading the book on my commute to NYC:)

Belinda - It doesn't seem like your resting your foot;) Happy you had fun!

Lori - Staying home can have it's perks too;) this morning I was wishing I had! A marathon sounds like a great goal for you. How will you get the new workouts since you moved?

Kristin - I like your New's Year's resolutions! Enjoying your reviews of the workouts.

Amelia - Kudos on starting the rotation already:)

Cookie - Your dog really chewed a lot of things too funny about an avocado, is he trying to eat healthy;) I'm dying to see Les Miz, saw the play when I was 8 mo. pregnant and was so uncomfortable.

Cardio Leg Blast done this morning, I had to modify some of the higher impact moves due to my foot but I still got a very intense workout. It was a blast;)

Deb-Yay on getting your dvd's. Sounds like you had a lovely New Years.

Cookie-Nice workout. Glad you enjoyed your movie and Hugh Jackman:p

Belinda-I keep ice on my foot as soon as I walk in the door im rolling it with a frozen water bottle, and taking ibuprofen. Its still not better, I have a weeks vacation coming up from work at the end of February so I plan on taking it easy that whole week to see if I can get rid of this PF.

Cookie - I don't have a repounder. I will not buy anymore exercise equitments, maybe an elliptical:eek: Still not sure if I really need one? I will try to use the gym on base first and see how that works out? Eventually I would like to downsize. I have way to many workout dvds/exersice equitment. I should be a size 0, but I am not:rolleyes: Since you been doing the new workouts, how are they different than Cathe's older ones? Besides the high impact one some, heard they great workouts. Can't wait to give them a try once I am done with STS.

I took the dogs for a nice walk today. I already took 9608 steps (93%)today (according to my fitbit;)). I am all good for today. Time to ice my right foot.

Hey everyone! Just finished Hard Strikes. I loved it! Those 5 sit-ups, 5 push-ups at the end are killer. This series is just phenomenal! I have Tabatacise on tap for tomorrow! I did the first two pages of 1 RM testing yesterday and today my upper body was sore, lol.

It was very, very hard to get up at 5:15 this morning. I hate getting up when the sun is still nowhere to be seen and it is cold :(. I hate winter after the holidays. I will it could winter for Christmas and then spring comes in, lol. I guess it is like that for those of you who live down South.

Belinda- good job with the walking. That's a lot of steps with half the day left! I think Hard Strikes is different from other boxing/kickboxing dvds in that there aren't a lot of combo repetitions. It was very face paced. You would do a punching combo then some other drills, then another combo. . . but not so long that you were wondering when the combo would end. It was higher impact, but still not as high as say KPC. I liked the conditioning drills for upper body and abs at the end too. The music is so much fun too, IMO.

Deb- how are you today? I hate hangovers. I was kind of glad we didn't go anywhere because after being sick all week, I didn't want to have a hangover right after getting better. Sometimes I'll have two or three glasses of wine and wake up with a bad headache even though I didn't really get "drunk". Did you try any of the new workouts yet? Super Cuts?

Amelia- I am doing the 1 RM testing. I want to amke sure I am lifting as heavy as I should. I want to push myself to get more definition for "tank top" season ;). I cannot wait to start the rotation next week. The Cardio Leg Blast. . . is it like STS plyo legs? Have you done any of the 100 rep challenges yet? My shoulders are so sore today :)

Cookie- so I see you've done burn sets. . . have you done any other XTrain workouts yet? I am doing the cardios this week with my 1 RM testing. I want to start the rotation on Sunday. Positive thinking has kept me a lot happier this year, despite all the craziness going on!

Lori- hope all is well! Happy New Year!

Phatgyrl- Are you starting a rotation soon?

Hi,

I read the book to & from NY. I see myself using that book alot. I wondering if with the downloads if there is an e-book? I decided to do the 90 day X-train & LIS since it feels like I haven't worked out in forever and think it would work better for me. I'm going to start on Monday.

I'm home tomorrow helping my boss approve service reports. It's going to be weird seeing other people's pictures & reports but it's a nice change & I can workout:):D:)

Belinda - I agree I need to get some healthy food in so I can eat better. It's so much easier in the summer months. Great job with your steps!

Lori - What have you been up to?

Kristin - I could just imagine how hard it was to get up today & it is too cold thought we would luck out like last year. I like your idea of going from Christmas to Spring:) I think I'll do the 1 RM's tomorrow, you must have the right weights if you are sore.

Amelia - It seems with Cathe even if you modify you still get a great workout. Kudos on packing your meals.

Good Morning:)

I've went for two runs outside now:). I asked for some new running pants for Christmas and they are awesome. It wasn't to cold here but these pants were perfect for the temp I went in. They are fleece lined. I read that some people got them on sale:mad: Thursdays are sake days at lulu , I figured I'd check today but nope....still normal price. I will have to keep looking cause they will eventually go on sale.

DH invited a co worker and his gf over for dinner on NY's day. I was hoping I may have found a friend but she ain't it!:confused: she was o.k...I wouldn't cringe if I had to hang out with her but there certainly wasn't much of a connection. She went on and on about running...as if she was pro or something. She was saying that her bf doesn't like to run with her and that maybe she should slow down. Then she said one of his coworkers asked if they could go running together sometime. Anyway, I got tired of hearing about it. So I had to ask about her races...she did none...furthest she's ever ran is 10 km. I'm thinking "are you kidding me"? I know 10k is no small task for most people and its a good distance. But don't sit there and act like your this experienced runner who can take on the world when the most you've ever done is 10 k. People like that don't sit we'll with me. I don't like braggers....esp when they have nothing to brag about. I'm trying to remember if it was after I told her about the marathons that she shunned me when I asked her something. She totally shrugged her shoulders and looked away from me:mad: I won't be calling er anytime soon...lets put it that way.

I'm thinking I will do weights when the baby goes for a nap this morning and another run when dh wakes (he worked last night)

Belinda** I never kept resolutions either...that's why I don't make them anymore. I think most times they use to be diet related! Lol. That wasn't yesterday though. That was before I had DS. Who will be 6 tomorrow!!! I did say I was going to start doing one thing and that's saying "I don't care". I'm very indecisive. For one thing I really don't care. So when someone is hanging a picture for me or asking me what I want picked up to eat..,I'm going to give the, a straight answer! Lol

Ameila** how are you liking the new workouts so far!?

Kristin** I think we are going to list our house mls to get rid of it which is going to kill me to have to pay a realtor that much. But I'm betting it will go a lot fire b/c they will all want to sell it and they may become a little more pushy. Once we sell the house and I get a job.,,then we can start looking! I can't wait! The guy in the basement wants to come with us....lol. Can you imagine just inheriting a immigrant?

Deb** I can't wait to get my new workouts!! Although the guy who owns the house still has the key for the mailbox. I'm going to get dh to call him when he wakes up.

Cookie**. I thought about finding the running club. I may have to do something like that. I'm more of a loner when it comes to running but if it means making friends with the same interest, then I'll do it.

Hard Strikes done this morning. I did all of it but I just looked over my rotation for tomorrow and I was only suppose to do 34 minutes? Oops. oh well, The part I was suppose to skip was the upper body conditioning. And tomorrows workout is Bi's and Tri's :confused: Im not tooo worried about it though because I used really light weight.

Lori-Wow on the GF, I think I would have to change the conversation after a few minutes of that:confused: I don't like braggers either. I have a co-worker at work that works in another department and all she talks about is her DH and herself - I can't get a word in with this women. And its like when I do talk she isn't listening - just thinking of what she's going to say next. Its exhausting trying to 'politely' get away from her:eek::eek: Nice job on your runs - did you go to lulu.com today?

Deb-Hope you had a good day today, what workout did you do? I thought about that XT + LIS rotation too. Im sure its a good one.

Kristin-How was Tabatacise? I just skimmed my rotation and Tabatacise isn't scheduled until week 5?:confused: I think I will move it up a little LOL. I agree with your review on Hard Strikes , I loved it and the music was so motivating and perfectly paced. Lots of fun. I didn't make it through all 6 sets of those sit ups / push ups...I did 5:eek: . I too love all the workouts from Xtrain so far. :)

ok, have a good night. I just packed my lunch for tomorrow and cooked a meal to put in the freezer . So far we have turkey chili, chicken pot pie soup and chicken with tomato, garlic & basil over ww noodles in the freezer. :D I don't have to cook for the rest of the week, DH can on monday when he's off ;)

Evening all. I just finished Tabatacise, I only did premix 2, the first two tabatas plus core #2, plus I did more 1 RM testing. The tabatas are tough. I was barely breathing. Then for the "recovery" she has you do 15 power ups on the step, 2X per side.. . that's the RECOVERY!?!!?! I am hoping to make my way up to doing all five one day, but I am not sure I will ever make it, lol.

I was hoping to have the workout cards printed for when I start on Sunday, but I am thinking they won't have it all up and running on the site. I think if I have to start without the cards, I will gage what to lift based on what Cathe is lifting. I would prefer to have the numbers for myself right there though.

Deb- It was even harder getting up today. Wish school would start I don't have one of those automatic car starters. This morning I ran out to warm up my car, and it was a good thing I did because there was a thick layer of icy frost on it. The way this school year has been going though, spring and summer will be here before we know it. How far did you get with the 1RM today? I am almost done with the third page. I am hoping to finish tomorrow on my "rest" day.

Belinda- I see what you mean about the jacks. Maybe you can take the discs out and do the disc jacks? Are you done with STS yet?

Lori- We were talking about how much the realtor would take from the sale. Is it 4% or 6%? I am hoping it is less than 4, lol. I know how you feel about meeting someone, hoping to make a friend, only really not liking the person enough to want to bother. I've had that experience before. Once you settle in though, and you start getting out to school events and what not, you'll find new friends. DH and I have made so many friends through baseball. We used to be hermits and now we have plans every weekend. It is great.

Hi,

I did B&G but could not do any 1RM's. My deadline was moved up to help my boss with computer work. I'm happy to get it done but tired from sitting at the computer all day. I looked at too many pictures of wallets today!

I have one last day tomorrow in NYC, actually looking forward to moving around:)

Belinda - I'm so happy Cathe included an e-book. Have you been back to the Dr.?

Lori - It's still early and between all your interests, kids, new house & job it will happen before you know it and you won't have to settle. They finally have a Lulu store in one of the malls I work at. It just opened so there wasn't any sales or clearance racks but hoping the next time I go there is. Your pants sound awesome love fleece.

Krisitin - I so nervous to do tabatacise, I hope it's further down in the rotation;) Some of the new cars come with the automatic starter . . . not mine either . . . wondering if they use it in the warmer states:)

Amelia - Your dinners sound yummy! Do you find the new workouts work better with your schedule?

Cookie - Is DD still around, seems like some college students are going back early this year?

Legs and today was bia and tris. I am really liking x train. I am just doing the time savers now because I just came off a knee injury and I am still a Cathe novice but I am hanging in there. I would like to lose 5 lbs this month.
