Commit to get FIT & LEAN for January!

Morning, quick check in before I get ready for work. The kiddo's are on the bus so i can finally sit down before heading out the door...

I decided to take a rest day yesterday. This morning I finish out week #1 of my 90 day rotation w/All Out premix #1. 50mins flew by with this workout. I really ((Heart)) this series :)

Burn Sets :Chest Back & Shoulders on tabs for tomorrow. I can't wait to try this one. I'm ready to get some heavier lifting in ;)

ok. Im off tomorrow and hopefully Wednesday ( I requested it off) so I can caught up with personals then:) Have a great Monday everyone

Morning all.

This week is my recovery week. I will try to go for a short walk and do some stretching. I also have to clean my floors. Last night I took all the xmas decorations + tree down.

Debbie - I love using the elliptical. Yesterday my foot wasn't hurting like the last time....I did kept the workout short. The base is a 25-30 min away. Not to bad. I can't wait to use the TM in the gym. Like I said after the gym we go to the commisssary. LOL! Not sure if I want/need to buy an elliptical/TM as long as we use the gym? What are your returning? I am on a no buying kick....let's see how long that last, lol.

Cookie - thanks I will check out the King Arthur website.

Phatgyrl2 - good job on the yoga and Hitt.

Kirstin - I had no problems on the elliptical yesterday, I think I will stick with the elliptical for awhile. I am not 100% sure if those workouts cloth Lulu? They do have the Kirkland lable and the Lulu logo on it? I don't care if the Lulu or Kirkland...those workout cloth are cute. A lot of time Kirkland buys/puts their logo on Name brands ideams.

Amelia - have fun with " All out" today.

I shall return. Have a wonderful Monday.

Good Morning:)

We have a busy day a head of us. We have to get the kids sorted out for school this morning and after lunch we meet with the real estate agent. The more I think about it, the more I'd like to build something. That would give us time to sell our own house and for me to find a job.

I thought yesterday's workout was gonna be a bust b/c I didn't get to workout till later. We did a few things yesterday evening and didn't get home till 5...I ended up working out while dinner was cooking. I did 10 mins on the TM, 20 min tabata spin and GS legs standing work. I went heavy with the legs but I'm not sure if I'm sore yet...time will tell.

Belinda** the movie is a new one. I don't know much about movies any ore cause I don't watch enough tv to see previews. If your pants are really from lulu, they will hold up for a long time. Nice workout yesterday.

Kristin** drinking again, hey? No worse then me being half cut last week when my annoying dinner guest showed up. It's probably a good thing I was....she may have annoyed me more if I wasn't. Yeah, the movie is the Disney one. It was nice but not as touching as I thought it was going to be. It was more like a documentary. Are you back to work today?

Cookie** late night for you:eek:. Last night we were up until almost 1! DH wanted me to stay up and I told him he would be rolling over when I have to get up with the baby at 6 and he disagreed. Guess what happened!???

I'll bbl!

Lori:)

Morning all!! My computer at work has crashed so I figured I catch up with you guys.

To answer your question am I feeling the after of effects of Xtrain. Heck yeah! It hurts to sit down!

I have a question this is my first serious weight training program. Did any of you experience an initial bulking period? I feel huge and my pants are little snugger in the thighs. I've heard that this is normal. How did you deal with this phase?

Morning ladies. I tried to get on last night to report my workout and get into the workout manager, but I guess the site was down because it would not load on my browser. Anyway. .. I did Cardio Leg Blast and loved every minute of it. It is a fantastic workout, a real sweatfest. My legs are singing to me this morning, lol. The only thing I did was lower my step height for the step cardio blasts. They do them on 10 inches, and I was afraid :(. After completing the workout, I think I can definitely do the 9th and 10th step blasts on 10 inches (box jumps, and straddle jumps). However, fast feel shuffle is not happening on 10 inches anytime soon, lol. Oh. . . and I broke my green firewalker. I was doing those frog jumps with the band on, and it just snapped off and was broken :(

phatgyrl- "bulking" at first is quite normal. Your muscles swell abit, plus they hold on to more water. Keep drinkiing water, eating clean and working the program. You'll love how you feel and look in no time. Cathe writes about this in the Xtrain guide. Do you have it? On page 8 it is under the subheading "Why the scale sometimes goes up when you first start to lift weights."

Lori- Drinking again, I know, lol. It was a good drink though, and it catches up to you so fast, lol. I did go back to work yesterday, and I felt sluggish from staying out late Saturday night. I'm not as young as I used to be, lol. Building something sounds great. I wish we could do that. Then your house can have all your must-have features and it can be move-in ready. I say go for it ;)

Belinda- I know what you mean about Kirkland. It is the same company, but Costco works out a deal and gets the designer to create for the brand I think. I saw it on CNBC on a business program. Glad the elliptical works for you at this point. You an get your workouts in without the damage!

Amelia- did you get tomorrow off? Congrats on finishing week 1. I loved CLB last night. I think it is my favorite of the series. Although, I have been saying that about each workout after I finish it the first time. I have Hard STrikes on tap for today, but I think I will do the workout in its entirety if I feel up to it. My upper body is not too sore. I am also adding on a 100 rep challenge :).

Cookie- I hear you on the bowling. I am normally a very give-it-all-you -got and win type of person. In bowling, not so much, lol. I give up quickly. Did I tell you, we lost our mid-winter break because of Hurricane Sandy? I already have students telling me they will be away that week. It will be a ghost town I think.

Deb- start the rotation yet? I think you'll love CArdio Leg Blast. It is kind of similar to plyo legs, but broken down into rounds, and somehow or other, it made the workout feel "faster." It was a lot of fun. I'm a little upset about my firewalker badn though :(

Okay, off to work I go :)

Kristin

Morning girls.

I couldn't log on Cathe;s website yesterday, maybe they did an update...

Anyway I walked the dogs yesterday and cleaned my house.

Today I will do some yoga and abs.

Kirstin - I read that about Costco too. I love those workout pants. Like I said I don;t care if they Lulu or not, they are so cute. I can;t wait to start Xtrain next week.

Phatgyrl - ditto what Kirstin said. Don't worry:)

Lori - do you live close to a Costco? If so, you can check out those workout cloth. How did the first day of school go yesterday? We are building our next house, that;s for sure. Their is always something you don't like about a house, when you build you get excatly what you want.

Waving Hallo to everyone that follows.

Thanks ladies. I was freaking out for a second but my body seems to be beggining to adjust slowly. Maybe it was yesterdays run. I am going to try out supercuts tonight! Eating is going well and the water consumption is getting better!

'Evening!
Belinda, I can spend hours on the King Arthur site! Well, when my internet connection allows. Peter Reinhart writes really good books on bread baking. Can you tell what I spend some time on? Glad your foot is doing better.
Amelia, hope you got tomorrow off. It's hard to get everything done with a family and work. This is my favorite series.
Lori, think I stayed up too late on the night before so then Sunday til 11 - I was fried when had to wake up at 3:15! can't do it any longer. My dh and I could never build - there are too many decisions to make!
Kristin, yeah I think it will be a ghost town in your school. We lost ours about 10 years ago due to an ice storm in October. Not fun at all. Actually think it was more like 20 years.
Phatgyrl, drink more - oh, I mean drink more water. It's pretty common and happens to most of us. Great job with sticking with the workouts.
Deb, from dog sitting, did you get tempted to get a puppy? Ours has brought the other dogs to life. The littlest one, who is not friendly, is not playing hide and seek with her, and the old geezer thinks he's a teenager. they make me tired watching them.
Hard Strikes this morning. Wore my weighted gloves and did part of it on the rebounder but had a great workout. Also did 100 scarecrows. Loving those 100 rep challenges!
Cookie

Hey everyone! I just finished Hard Strikes. I love that workout. The rotation called for the premix without the conditioning, but I did the conditioning too. I love the ab work on this one. The five sit ups and five push ups combo at the end is awesome. My core was on fire. I had to alternate, one round push ups on my toes, the next round on my knees. One day I'll do them all on my toes ;)

Cookie- today we were told officially not to teach anything new that week. They want us to do. . . wait for it. . . wait for it. . . TEST PREP!!! Ugh! I long for the day when the tests are gone and all these jackass reformers like Rhee are out of the picture. I'd love to get to teach without thinking what is on the stupid freakin' test.

Belinda- this website is having problems. I can log into workout manager, but I cannot log in my workout. I wonder if it has to do with them adding the workout cards for Xtrain. Did the website experience problems when they added STS to it? I don't think I was around for that. If I was, I wasn't using the workout manager yet. Enjoy your rest week. I am loving this series!!!

Phatgyrl- was this your first time doing super cuts? This series is just awesome!

Waving hello to the rest of you lovely ladies!

Good night!
Kristin

Hi,

I had problems with the website too . . . thought maybe their was a big annoucement:eek: Yesterday I did Burn sets chest, back & shoulders I really liked it and felt I pushed myself to go heavier. Today I got the last bike in spin also did 4 cycles of Cardio Supersets (which is on the rotation). Didn't realize how much endurance I lost from not workout out but I am so tired & hungry:)

Belinda - Now you have me wanting to check out the w/o pants in Costco. So your not going to buy but get the rest of us to;) The gym isn't too far and if you combine it with errands it could work and you'll save money on an elliptical.

Lori - Did the kids start back to school, how do they like it? Kudos on getting your workouts in with so much going on. I'm sure it helps:)

Kristin - I hope Hard strikes & Cardio leg blast are in my rotation. I think we're all going to be walking around sore the next few weeks . . . Cathe is kicking our butts:)

Amelia - Enjoy your days off. The weather must be really nice by you because it's going to be 52 here tomorrow . . . love when it is nice on a day off.

Cookie - I'm tempted to get a dog, my neighbor's dd (yoga instructor) is getting a puppy in 2 weeks & I'm sure they'll ask us to watch when they vacation:) I'll have to check out that King Arthur site too! Now that I'm not busy checking so many things out!

Phatgyrl - Kristin is right Cathe wrote about muscle swelling in the book now I'm going to be looking for it too LOL.

Goodnight:)

Morning girls.

Never got that yoga in yesterday. Since it's my recovery week, I wasn't sweating it, lol. I will give it anther try today? We shall see.

You girls kicking butt this week, good job!

Debbie - glad the website is working today. Of course, I will buy for everyone. LOL! About the elliptical....it's not about the money! We are not sure if you want to stay in WV. I am tired of moving so much stuff? Summer is coming..I will spent more time outside? We may still buy one?? Who knows?

Kirstin - I can't remember they had problems with the website when they launched STS? Glad it's working again.Good job yesterday.

Phatgyrl - good job yesterday.

Cookie - KA site is awesome. Found a few recipes on youtube. Need to check out Peter Reinhardt.

I will be back after my stretch/yoga? Happy Hump Day, girls!

Hey girls, a 35min power walk done today. I was suppose to do Xtrains Burn Sets : Chest back and shoulders but I decided to do it tomorrow ( third time putting off this workout because my right shoulder isn't feeling too good.) If my shoulder hurts tomorrow I will do Chest, back and biceps instead of shoulders;)

Hello to everyone!

I will bbl.:)

Hi,

I took a yoga class today also supposed to do TS lower body but need to get ready to go meet our DS tonight for dinner so thinking about leaving it for Sunday which is a rest/yoga day anyway.

So I just came back from Costco (Belinda you enabled me) love the w/o clothes but need to try and and see if they fit. The quality is really good.

Belinda - Where would you consider moving?

phatgyrl - Enjoy your rest day:)

Amelia - It's better not to take a chance and rest your shoulders. I realized this morning I didn't do burn sets C,B & S but did just C, B & S the other day . . . I need glasses!

BBL

Hallo ladies,

I did yoga today, no abs:confused:

Debbie - LOL, glad you like the workout clothes. They are cute, hah?:D I bought some last year and they still look brand new. Love wearing them. So what did you buy?

Amelia - take it easy on your shoulder. Maybe resting your shoulder for a few days will do the trick;) I am not sure what I will do next week? My foot is still bordering me, I know I can't do any of Cathe's high impact. I am not evern gonna try:(

phatgyrl - Enjoy your rest day

I will try to be back later, if not I will see you all in the morning.

'Evening!
Belinda, glad you like the KAF website. My family knows I'm a big fan of their stuff, and for Christmas gave me a coffee mug with their name on it - saying its part of the family.
Gee, where would you move to next?
Amelia, be careful with your shoulder. Do you remember injuring it? My right one is messed up from a few car accidents and too much tennis and racquetball. Sometimes I couldn't even drive.
Phatgyrl, enjoy the rest day. I had one too but mine wasn't planned.
Lori, are you off running around?
Kristin, the time is going by so fast. I kept thinking all day it can't be Wednesday already. Did you hear the governor's state of the state address?
Deb, did Belinda enable you? At least you go to a gym to look good, not like me in the basement!
Got in 4 miles walking. We finally ordered the spin bike my son offered to get us months ago. It came today. Hoping it isn't too challenging to put together so I can check it out this Saturday. I'm sure I will be very sore from it.
Cookie

Okay, so I lost my whole freakin' post. I need to make this wuick because I am exhausted. . . I did BI's and Tri's disc 2 of Xtrain. I loved it. My arms have a nice, visible pump in them right now. This whole series is just outstanding. Cathe really outdid herself!

I will be back in the morning for personals.

Kristin

Hi,

I'm back. I tired of running errands tomorrow should be the last of it. So much cleanmax & organizemax to do before I have to go back to work. I may try & do 2 w/o's tomorrow so I can catch up.

I realized the rotation I'm doing doesn't include some of the new workouts but maybe I can sub here and there.

Belinda - I bought 2 pants & 2 jackets thought about returning one of them but they are made really nice with quality details so don't think I will. I bought one in short & one in regular so may go back & get both in short & they are still a little too long but I have short legs:p

Lori - I hope your day wasn't too crazy.

Kristin - These workouts are making me so tired too. I love this series and was thinking about it I prefer when she makes series instead of single workouts . . . Cathe does a great job of pulling a series together.

Cookie - My spin bike was pretty easy to put together (came mostly assembled) crossing my fingers your does too. Do you have a TM or walk outside?

Goodnight:)

Good Morning:)

Gonna try and make this quick, I have to get the kids off to school.

Mondays house hunting was a waste of time. She kept showing us homes with not enough rooms or space. I was discouraged by the time we stopped looking. I don't know if we are gonna have to spend a lot more to get the space we need, or if we just need to wait for a house to come up. We are going with her again today at 1 but in my eyes it's a waist of time anyway. We aren't ready until our house sells. I wasn't to fussy on the agent either. She had no personality and they are strange. They only show you their listings...not the businesses listings!

Yesterday's workout was CM and 4DS bic, tris and shoul. Tues workout was 4.5 miles and HR, mon was rest. Today I'm gone get my workout in earlier cause I have a meeting at 11 regarding PT for the gym:D. I'm not sure what it involves but I guess I'll soon find out!

Belinda** there isn't a Costco here. I'm sure there is one close by though. Maybe the next time we will have a look. Although we have to have a membership...not sure if its the same way there. We use to have one but it expired. We never went enough.

Kristin** building might be our only option! Everything else is to big or to small. Obviously everyone is in the same boat if the size of house I want is no where to be found. She said a few houses will be coming up soon b/c the military are getting posted in June. Hopefully we will be ready within the next couple of months to get out of here!

Deb** the kids enjoyed school. DS enjoyed it more then I thought cause he's in full days now. It was just half days before. His teacher says that he is a little challenging...which doesn't surprised me. She said she is going to give him a couple of weeks to settle in and if there are issues then we will have a meeting. I looked up ADD/ADHD last night and he does have a lot of the symptoms. Wouldn't surprise me at all.

Ameila** nice workout!

Cookie** ohhhhhh...I knew spin bike! If it makes you feel better, I put mine together by myself and it hasn't fell apart yet:eek:

Phatgryl** I forgot to read everyone response to your question cause that interest me. I still don't have my workouts yet but I never heard anyone mention that problem on the other check in. AND I still don't have mine!

K...I will bbl to report my workout and let you know how my meeting went!

Lori:)

Hey everyone. I was so not in the mood to workout, but I pushed through it. I did Xtrain Legs disc 5 for the first time. It was wonderful. The rear delt work at the end was fantastic as well. I didn't do the 80 minute premix, mind you. I couldn't commit to 80 minutes on a Thursday night. I did the first premix, which is all the leg work (except barre, which isn't my favorite leg work anyway) and the rear delts.

Anyway, I am so exhausted these last two days. I think Xtrain is kicking my butt. I just got over leg DOMS from CLB and now I have a feeling I won't be able to sit without going, "ow, ow, ow. . ." lol.

Lori- Did your second house searching trip go any better? The house I am in now is obviously my first home, and I don't know what the steps are when you are buying a house and selling a house at the same time. When we first started looking before buying this house that we are in now, we got very disgusted. It was the peak of the market and we had to settle on this house, which we liked, it was just small. Now it feels soooo small. It is harder in the winter because we have to stay inside when it is too cold, or pay to go out somewhere (like a bouncy place or something like that). Summer, it is better because the boys can play outside, we have a little pool. . . it is just easier. Hopefully this year we will get lucky. You first, I have some money to save ;)

Deb- I agree, the last few series are just wonderful. Single workouts, are great too, but something about have a set to work with and play around with. I also think that having the set with a rotation is "shocking" our bodies on a daily basis, as opposed to you do a new workout, and then add them in with workouts you've done for a long time. I am feeling it all over!

Cookie- the governor is not my favorite person, as you may have guessed. I thought he toned down his attacks on teachers. .. the longer school year. . . I would need air conditioning. My room gets in the high 90s when May and June hit, and when it is humid. . . forget about it. Last year I saw spots while teaching a class, it was that stuffy. It doesn't help that my classroom is on the second floor.

Belinda- enjoying your rest week? Speaking of abs, have you tried the two Xtrain bonus ab workouts? They are amazing and tough. COre #2 is a little harder in my opinion. Core #2 gave me the kind of ab DOMS that hurt even more when you laugh, lol. ;)

Amelia- how is your shoulder? Did you get your workout in?

Waves hello to phatgyrl.

Off to bed. Xtrain is kicking my butt.

Kristin
