Today I did M1 D3 Legs. Not much going on just trying to stay warm:)

Belinda - I'm going to try and mix the new workouts w/STS we'll see;) Have fun with DH.

Kristin - TGIF catch up on sleep.

Cookie - are you still doing SBF?

Kirsten - what didn't you like about HiiT yesterday. Yeah, on the sleep.

Debbie - I'll bet you gonna see some great results :)

Belinda, blondes have it easier with going grey; you're lucky. Did dbf on Thursday and going down to do it again in a few. Actually am debating getting the online for a year.
Amelia, hope all is well. How's your brother?
Kristin, I'm mentoring a middle school teacher in the NB process, and I always think of you. Have you read the book, Read Write Lead? Think you would like it. Agree this series from Cathe is really good. Some of the plyo - one-arm pushups are way beyond me.
Wendy, hope all are healthy in your house. I have no idea how Cathe can use those wts! I was shocked that I had to go down so much.
Deb, I don't use the Vitamix for bread but do for salad dressings, soups, smoothies, and other things. I usually hand-knead for bread - good arm workout. My mixer and food processor can handle bread, but I prefer to do it by hand. Hope you did something fun on your days off. Thanks re my brother.
Hockey game last night - won for a change. Hoping for a repeat tonight, esp since it is against one of my son's alma mater, and I don't want him to have bragging rights. Going to go do sbf workout intermediate seat work and a quick hiit. Probably will do something on rebounder since need to get my minimum 10K, and it is only 9 degrees out.

I'm back to report my workouts. I felt like adding some cardio today, so I started with CF, triple tabata premix. then I did the RWH LIHI Back, shoulders and biceps. I am seeing some really good shoulder definition from this series. Maybe because we hit the shoulders in both upper body workouts? I don't know. I'm also pushing myself to lift heavier, so that could be it too, lol.

DS did a great job in his basketball game last night. He scored, rebounded 15 times, and the first player that covered him didn't want to cover him in the second half, lol. It was fun to watch. My younger DS stayed with my parents and when it was time to pick him up he started crying that he wanted to stay, so my dad said that both boys could sleep over next Friday! :p:D DATE NIGHT!!!! I am so excited for Friday to get here now, lol.

Cookie- I will have to read that book. I haven't read anything since this summer, which is awful. I just haven't had time. By the time I finish my work, the boys' homework, dinner and workout, I am too tired to do anything but watch junky reality tv and fall asleep. I have brand new books on my dresser waiting for me to pick them up. The one-arm burpees I haven't even attempted yet. I do double arm and I'm sucking air, so it is all good, lol.

Deb- there is a rotation in the user guide that mixes the new workouts with STS.

Belinda- Nice job on the workouts!

Belinda, I think I'm going to do sbf. I'd seen that link before so it has been lingering in my mind. Unfortunately, sometimes I think too much about things! It just seems strange to me to be posting on Cathe if I'm doing sbf. I'm getting a lot more walking in than when I did BB, which at that time did not encourage extra cardio, so I'm really curious to see what kind of results I'll get from doing barre for a rotation. However, I am hearing my other dads downstairs calling my name as I'm typing this.
Kristin, I hear you on not having time to read. It is really hard to grab those random times during the day to get some squeezed in. Glad the boys are enjoying basketball so much, and the older one is doing well with it. So what will you do on date night? Lucky you.
Well, we have the bragging rights! TG. That one son would have been brutal if his team won. Today is grocery shopping, housework, office work, and other fun activities. We had a beautiful sunrise but now it is already raining. Temps are at 32 so hoping it will be warming up quickly.

Good morning,

Today I will do a nice stretch and walk my dogs.

Cookie - if you stop posting because you feel bed doing other workouts, this forum will disappear eventually. I noticed how small Cathe forum is getting. Heck, Cathe hardly post anymore. If you read through all the other check ins, you see we are not the only ones doing other instructors workouts. Mixing things up, you shake things up. Plus, for the most part we are doing Cathe's workouts. Sometimes you just need a break from all that high intensity/impact. After 6 weeks or so I really saw a change in my body doing SBF. Give it some time, ok! Are you doing SBF current rotation? I been following it for month, seeing nice changes in my body. I haven't seen that much changes in my body when I did STS and I did almost 5 rounds:( I had to change something, I didn't see the results I was looking for after all that hard work I put into my workouts.

Kirstin - wtg, on your workouts. Glad your boy's like baseball. When are you gonna sign up for a year streaming?

Hi everyone. Just finished Yoga Max. My body needed a good stretch. My legs were firing up with the warrior poses though, lol. Last night we had our family game night and I was the winner this time, lol. My son gave me one of his WWE belts because I was the champion. So glad we are off tomorrow. The weather is lousy. It's one of those relax and do nothing kind of days.

Did you guys see the RT was announced?!?!? Who's in. I am 90% sure I am going. Just need to think it over a little tiny bit more. Every year I don't go I regret it. Not even sure if I can get in at my job's internet. They have blocked so many sites.

Belinda- I've been thinking about paying for Cathe Live, just don't want another bill at this point. I'll cave eventually. I notice the forums are not as active as they once were. It makes me sad. This "place" is a big part of what motivates me to keep going, especially all of you in the check in.

Cookie- Date night will probably be a late dinner, as DS has basketball at 7:15, and then maybe just uninterrupted time at home ;).

Went for a nice long walk with the dogs this afternoon and I just finished doing 30 min yoga.

Kirstin - I saw the RT was announced :D I also have to think about it, since it's in July? DH just said, he would go with me if I want to go? LOL! I kinda think it's said too about the forum, I miss all the conversations that went on years ago. Once Cathe posted on her own forum, she post on FB? Don't get it? Maybe she is trying to reach the masses? Everyone else followed her on FB and left the forum. I also see people using FB as a forum/check in and posting every single workout they do over their, LOL!

Belinda, guess Facebook is good for reaching a larger audience, and it is interesting to see how social media is changing everything. I'm more private so Facebook is not for me. However, most of my family (siblings and cousins) communicate w/photos and frequent postings on it, so it is a great way for staying in touch. It makes me laugh that my mom finds out what they're all up to by following them on Facebook. Did you know your sister bought a car? How come ___ didn't go to work today?
Kristin, enjoy today. I've procrastinated so much, I have a ton of work to get done. However, by procrastinating, one of my colleagues changed her mind on what she wanted help w/so at least if I had gone with what she first wanted, time wasn't wasted. I think upper body circuit on rwh is pure genius. There are new moves and the way they are put together w/compound exercises is very clever.
Wendy and Amelia, what's going on? Hope all is well.
Deb, I haven't seen gas for under $2 here, plus we have to pump our own gas here in NYS. That is one of my very favorite things about NJ! Was this your dog visiting weekend?
I have to check the rt dates, b/c I have a few commitments around the time it usually occurs. Having oral surgery today, visiting/driving eldest ds to a couple of appts and lots of office work. Didn't sleep well and woke up like I was having a bad dream, but now can't even remember it. Managed to read rest of NYTimes from yesterday while pacing, so I got some steps. Going downstairs to do a sbf workout or rwh lower body hiit one. Not sure yet which.

Today I am starting week 8 of the XTrain rotation.
I will do Burn Sets Bic's & Triceps. I also will do some core work? I am getting a little tired of doing the same core workout in XT.

Cookie - social media sure is changing everything. Not sure if it's a good thing or bad thing? I'm more private so Facebook is not for me. Some people post everything on FB, even where they go, what they do at the minute? WTH? Personally I don't give a crap what people do, those post I skp and laugh about:p People are dumb these day's. Too much information:p:D Good luck with your surgery today. Hope you recover quickly (((HUGS)))

i girls,

XT Burn Sets : Biceps & Triceps are done. I also did SBF LB Barre3. I was suppose to do the abs in XT too, but getting a little bored doing the same ab week after week. DH and I Prevention Fit AB Advantage: Core Training = 12 min + Classic Abs = 12 min. DH thought Core training was to easy for his abs so we added another core workout. That one was super hard:D

Hey everyone. Just finished Plyo hiit 1 plus abs one. That workout was extremely tough today, but I pushed through it. I am seeing a difference in my stomach and arms. I have lost four pounds, but my body is looking and feeling much different. I guess doing Hiit consistently is the trick after all. When I am done with this 2 month rotation, I think I will do an Xtrain/new workouts without name (Flex Train, PRS 2, Legs, X10/CF and TTM for one month and then go to another RWH rotation. I am thinking of doing the RWH LIS rotation, only adding plyo hiit instead of LI Hiit when it calls for it (LIS/RWH seems to be all LI for the most part).

Like Cookie, I procrastinated, so I have paperwork and lesson planning/reviewing to do. It's all good though. Nothing I cannot get through for today. So thankful for a four day work week this week, lol.

Belinda- I think you are right about Facebook and Cathe. I think she was trying to reach a larger audience. I feel they should keep the forum going too though. I mean, they redid the format and everything, with the ability to post videos and pics, why not bring the forum back alive with your presence?

Cookie- Procrastination pays off sometimes. Less aggravation, lol. I love the whole series. I think it is brilliant, and like I said, I am already seeing results. I am starting week three of the 2 month rotation, but I had done the workouts for two weeks before starting the rotation itself. I am seeing a difference, and the exact kind of changes I wanted to see too! Upper Body Circuit is awesome. It isn't in the first month of this rotation, but appears a few times in the second month. I cannot wait to do that one again!

I only did part of Slide & Glide today , yesterday was kickbox not feeling well today:( I made a sauce today & it took me even longer because I just wasn't up to it.

I also saw the RT announcement I will try too!

Hi Everyone,

So the above post was from last night came to this thread and it was here waiting for me to press post reply (oops:oops:).

So today I took off felt terrible, took a yoga class but barely made it thru it. My highlight today was making chicken soup;) happy I have enough to last a couple of days.

I saw on fb a post to do STS backwards starting with Meso 3 and ending with Meso 1. I like that idea because I feel Meso 1 is cardio based and like the poster said felt it may be a good idea. I will start when I feel better.

Belinda - I agree I like to switch up abs not my favorite to do so variety is key. Your right the forums are getting quiet I prefer them over fb.

Kristin - I saw the rotation w/STS & new workouts it looks good. I think I will mix my favorite Cathe series & yoga with STS this time. Date night this weekend sounds good!

Cookie - Good luck with your oral surgery today. I will probably have the dog visit this week or weekend. I get nervous when I have to pump my own gas so happy we don't, I'm sure I would spill it:eek:

Last night DH and I went for a nice long walk.

Today is XT Legs and SBF. Aleisa and boyfriend visit us yesterday. She helped me to go through my closet. I have a hard time letting go of cloth. Not sure why? I had cloth they haven't fit me in over 2 years, why do I hold on to those things? LOL! I also had a lot of business dresses, I know I never gonna wear again. I want to simplify my life.

Cookie - how are you feeling after your surgery?

Debbie - I hope the soup is helping you feel better. Hope you feel better soon. Try to relax and don't push it, ok. I just sent Aleisa the announcement?

Kirstin - said but true about FB:( The only time you see a post from Cathe is if she has an announcement or want to sell something:( She used to be active on her the forum, she is very active on FB. Congrats on your weight loss, that is fantastic! They say, HiiT workouts are better than reg. cardio.

I have the flu, everthing hurts from the top of my head to my toes. I spent the day sleeping but my fever isn't breaking. I'm off to bed again:)

Workout done. I did RWH LIHI Legs, plus abs 2. My older DS had indoor baseball practice, so my younger DS decided to join me. He was so cute squatting with 3 # DBs, saying "I'm sweating already, Mommy. This is hard!" He cracks me up. Halfway through he decided he would rather just watch me, lol.

Deb- Oh no1 I'm so sorry to hear you have the flu! Lots of fluids and rest. As if you can do anything else, right? Can you get tamiflu? It worked for my cousin within two days.

Belinda- Unless I detest the garment, I have a hard time letting go of my old clothes. I have dresses from over 7 years ago, that are way too big for me still hanging up in there, lol. I don't know why I'm like that either.

Cookie- a teacher (and union president from Port Jefferson) is refusing to administer/proctor the state tests and she is encouraging other teachers to join with her. . . it will be interesting to see if that catches on. I wonder what I would do. . . I don't want to lose my job, obviously, but I feel the tests are child abuse at this point. I have at least 10 out of my 12 inclusion special education students that will not be able to do it without the kinds of assistance we provide them in the classroom. Not to mention how worthless I think the tests are now that the students know they can opt out or fail and nothing happens to them . . . why doesn't the State Ed. Dept. realize that fact?
