Commit to get Fit & Lean for January 2015

'Morning!
Sorry for not checking in but have been really busy w/things. My brother definitely is on his third bout of cancer. Today he has an mri and more biopsies tomorrow. Work is just swamping me also, so between home and school, it's been really hard getting things in. Haven't even gotten my 10K the past two days!
Belinda, glad you didn't get walloped like Kristin! How fantastic for you to have a workout partner right across the street! Does she like the same type of workouts you do?
Kristin, glad you had your snow days. You're so brave driving in that. It's not nice to say, but better you than me! We have never ever closed early, and the supt has stated that will continue. Where I live it was icy but once I get about 20 mins into my commute, it's generally good. Sorry is my favorite board game. We play Phase 10 a lot when on family vacations.
Amelia, congrats on te 7 lbs! Amazing. Please don't be so hard on yourself. You'll get there. It is worth the time. How is your brother doing?
Wendy, how's everything in the great state of Texas and with you?
Deb, glad you're over the flu but what's this with leg pains? I get some when I haven't been taking vitamins. Hope you're already feeling better with them. Did they find the child with the Amber alert?
As you can see, I didn't sleep well again last night and have been awake since 2. Finally got out of bed and been reading, but wanted to post before going to do a workout. Think it is going to be a JS one. Don't think I can register for the rt this year. I have to deliver professional dev all day on Friday and am scheduled to be leading the group at 1. So far haven't been able to get a short break scheduled at that time. Any one signing up?

Hey guys. Workout today was Plyo Hiit 2 and then Low Impact Hiit 1. I have one more workout for the first month of the 2 month rotation. feeling good. A little tired this week, but it could just be the lousy weather. They are saying we are getting another 6-8 inches possibly Sunday into Monday. I wouldn't mind a snow day the day after the Super Bowl. We shall see. . .

So my younger DS is in first grade and he is really struggling with Common Core math and quite frankly, I am getting very frustrated. Right now he is in topic 8. They are learning different ways to make the same number with tens and ones. To give you an idea, 47 would be 4 tens and 7 ones, or 3 tens and 17 ones, or 2 tens and 27 ones, or 1 tens and 37 ones, or 0 tens and 47 ones. They have to fill in this whole chart and DS just didn't get it. I studied with him for over an hour tonight and used the dry erase board to give him different numbers, plus I showed him the pattern to it. he memorized the pattern and I am praying to God he does well tomorrow. I don't know why they cannot learn simple addition such as 10 + 37 = 40, before all this crap. It is so tedious. . . and he is only 6! The numbers they use too, 77, 65, there's a whole lots of ways to break up 67 and kids who don't see the point to this start going through it quickly to get it done and mess up, aka, my wise guy son. Ugh! Okay, I'm done vent.

cookie- There you are! sorry to hear about your brother. That is awful news. Cancer just plain sucks. I am going to try to sign up for the Road Trip. hoping I get it!

Hi,

Today I took a yoga class. I went to 2 malls so I can take tomorrow off. I need to start thinking Super Bowl food tomorrow;)

Belinda - Did you introduce your neighbor to home workouts? It's rare that I meet people that do home workouts except on Cathe.

Kristin - I'm trying tomorrow. I think even if you get on the wait list you will be called because their were a lot of people that ended up going last year who were wait listed. I could never figure out why they try and do Math so many different ways. I wonder if a study exists that shows the benefits of learning that way vs. the basic way.

Cookie - Let me know if you want me to try and sign you up for the RT. I will check back here tomorrow before signing up to see if you want me to.

Cookie - I am so sorry about your brother, that's awful! I hate cancer :( so many people are affected with this disease. I will keep your brother in my thoughts and prayers. My friend is still new to home workouts, I have to point her in the right direction. She want go to the gym :D

Kirstin - sorry your son is struggling with math. They are really asking a lot these day's from kids:( Crossing my fingers you get in today:D

Debbie - yes, I did:p like I said…she is still new to home workouts. She wants me to workout with her a few times a week:eek:, I can't. I like to workout by myself, I push harder.

I did M3 D26 Plyo legs today, it kicked my butt! I made it into the NJ roadtrip, by 1:01 I was in, I must have been one of the 1st ones in. I saw on fb that Kristin made it in to. I'm so excited wish all of you could have come . . . some day!

Belinda - I agree with you when you workout at home you want to do it on your schedule + wear whatever you want LOL. Also I'm not so sure your neighbor would be able to keep up with your energy level;) but it is good too talk to her about workouts.

Kristin - I see that you made it!!!

I need to jump in the shower we are going for a bite to eat.

Today I will do Super Cuts.

I am so happy for Kirstin and Debbie :) You guys gonna have so much fun. I will try to go next year, if not…we need to try to take at least one class with Cathe??

Debbie - that's how I feel :) I don't wear make up. I have not set time I workout. And no, she can't keep up with me :p Nice job on D26.

Kirstin - glad you made it in. We all need to go to Cathe's gym for a class this year? I will be on the beach relaxing while you all sweating it out with Cathe :)

Hey everyone. Just finished my workout. I did X10 Low Impact (added that in addition to my scheduled workout) and RWH Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. I find it so hard to stick to heavy weights with that one. After the second round of chest presses, I go from 25#s to 20#s. Then the incline chest flies I use 15#s and my arms are still shaking. With the shoulders, I am able to maintain my selected wieghts, but the burn is so intense that when I get to the finishers I do not do all the reps. Triceps. . . I am able to to the overhead extensions with 20# DB, but the for barbell extensions, I keep lowering the weight. I actually dropped to 8# DBs to complete the set. Even though I am lowering the weight, my arms are fried, so I think it is not that big of a deal. I will be feeling DOMS again. The second month rotation starts for me tomorrow. At the end of the first week I did RWH Upper Body Circuit, then the next day Chest, shoulders and triceps. . . that will be interesting.

So glad I made it into the road trip. Deb, I got in at 1:01 too, lol. My school internet won't let me go on Cathe's site, so I brought my new Mac book and went on the cable wi-fi. I set it up before my 6th period class. Then my class ended at 12:58, and I ran to my computer with my credit card in hand and was so nervous I couldn't immediately find the link, but I got in, obviously, lol. I am so glad you will be going. I am so excited to be doing this again. Every year I do not go, I regret it when the pics are all posted and the videos are uploaded.

Belinda- I would totally do a one day trip to take a class with Cathe and all of you. It would be fun! Maybe after I can take you to Manhattan where you can experience NY pizza, lol.

Deb- so excited for the RT. Plus, we are getting more snow it looks like for Monday. I won't mind if it means a snow day because then I won't have to worry about having a few drinks Super Bowl Sunday! It would be great!

Cookie- were you able to get in on the RT?

Amelia- how are things going? How's your progress this week?

Wendy- how are you feeling these days?

Hi,

I took a rest day today. I ate & drank too much last night so just needed to catch up on sleep. I went to a couple of food stores today & they were packed between the Superbowl & Snow! Tomorrow just need to get italian bread for sandwiches so I can be in and out.

Belinda - If you come to NJ to take a Cathe class I would love to meet you. I like Kristin's pizza suggestion;)

Kristin - I knew I would regret it if I didn't sign up too! I figure as long as I'm living in NJ I should try because it could be harder if we move to FL. Wow, talk about perfect timing and TG you had access to wi-fi.

Cookie - Were you able to get in the RT?
