Commit to get Fit & Lean for December 2014

Morning!
Belinda, do you already have your gifts wrapped? That's something I really procrastinate on. You must sleep well with all your workouts. How's your back?
Waving hi to Amelia!
Kristin, I can't believe 2014 is almost over. Do you make resolutions for the new year?
Wendy, you must be a really patient person. I wouldn't notice errors after reading it so many times. What is your author name again? My mom says I was born worrying!
Deb, I didn't know about cooking arugula! I'm going to try that. Once I said I was surprised some folks left Christmas lights up to spring, and the woman replied, she left hers up all year. That it was more efficient.
My sinuses are all stuffed up, and my left hip flexor is sore. Going to do a JS walking wo, but may come back up and just drink more coffee! Carpeting came and was installed yesterday. I'm so relieved b/c I was beginning to wonder how to juggle the furniture and sleeping arrangements if it didn't come soon. Ordered a new stove and that's coming tomorrow. Credit card company called to verify b/c we've bought so much this month, and normally we don't! That may be part of the reason I wasn't sleeping well last night.
Take care,
Cookie

Hi everyone! I had such a day yesterday, but I did manage to get in my workout. I did RWH LI 2. This one is my new favorite of the hiits so far. It was fun, hard and went by really fast. There were new moves and then a few oldies, but the pace, music and moves were great.

I will be back after work to catch up with personals. Have a lot to do today, but then I am off!

Good morning,

Today I will do XT Triceps + Biceps. SBF Tabata = 40 min + Christmas Stretch 2 = 10 min. I also will do JS D#18 Butt Lift = 12 min.

Cookie - no, I haven't wrapped anything yet! My kids wanted to know what I want for xmas? It's hard to pick something that isn't exercise related:p They said, I had enough, Dah? LOL! I wake up a lot according to my Fitbit? How about you? Enjoy your new carpet and oven. Those are things you need. Sorry about your sleep.

Wendy - I read on VF a lot of people complaint about the mat slipping w/ RWH Low Impact Hiit . I never use a mat as a marker, if that makes sense? I also never use dixie cups/weights as makers, lol!

Debbie - I cooked spinach before but never argula, I usually eat it raw. Hope the stretch helped.

Kirstin - fantastic job on RWH LI 2! Hope your day at work goes by fast today.

Amelia - where are you?

I will be back later. Have a great day and workout everyone.

Hi Ladies!

Last night was Kelly's Muscle Up #1. Tonight I'm meeting some friends for a glass of wine so probably no workout tonight. :)

Belinda-I don't use Dixie cups either! Good to know others are having the same problem with the mat. I'll just go without next time!!

Kristin-I still need to preview RHW Low Impact Hiit #2 but you make me want to do it!

Cookie-My pen name is Aven Ellis. I've enclosed a pic of the cover for my upcoming release. :) And I had four people proofread behind me. You have to because once you've read it multiple times, you can't see mistakes!!

:) Wendy

Hi,

I took a yoga class & it was fun. It was a bit tough and had to stay focused because it's been a while since I took a class. I'm looking forward to the weekend my nephew is here from Tennessee it's my FIL 75th birthday & we are celebrating on Sunday. I just need some extra hours in each day;)

Belinda - When an occasion is here could never think of something I want but throughout the year can think of lots of thingso_O Does the Chrismtas stretch play Christmas music?

Kristin - It must help knowing you will have a winter break to look forward too!

Wendy - Great cover! Have fun with your friends.

Cookie - When I cook argula it brings out the peppery flavor but I do prefer it raw. I thought about you in yoga my wrists started to bother me but improved once the class went on. You don't want to be without a stove for the holiday:)

Amelia - Are the kids excited about Christmas?

Goodnight:)

Hi Ladies!

Today I did RWH Back, Shoulders and Biceps. MAN! These weights are HARD! I couldn't do all the reps and I was WAY lighter in weight!! But good hard, you know?

Debbie/Belinda-Thank you! I really love this cover. :)

Debbie-I NEED MORE HOURS TOO!!

:) Wendy

'Morning!
Belinda, maybe I should be concerned that my kids never ask me what I want! They always tell me I have enough fitness things too. Two years ago, one ds did get us a spin bike, but then we did loan it to another ds. I need to ask for it back, but, boy, that was a tough machine to like. I real procrastinate on wrapping gifts and often end up doing it Christmas Eve.
Amelia, how's everything?
Jessica, bet you enjoyed the boys' performances yesterday. Hope you had at least a few minutes to yourself.
Wendy, thanks for the reminder on your pen name. Love the cover. How much input into its design do you get as an author?
I had a glass of wine last night, and it definitely tasted great. I used much lighter wts than Cathe in that wo also.
Deb, is that the nephew who was married last year? Super that so many can come for fill's celebration. 75 is something to definitely do so. I'm so excited the new stove came yesterday, and it will be formally "christened" as soon as I'm done posting. Have lots of baking planned. Like you, when someone asks what I want, I can't think of something either.
Going to bake this morning. My new 0-60 should arrive today, and if so will do it this afternoon. Then visit eldest ds a bit before heading out to friends' Christmas get together. They graduated from Cordon Bleu, and the food is always fantastic. Plus, I enjoy seeing so many people that I often only see once a year.
Cookie

Good morning,

Sorry for not checking it yesterday. DH and I met up with Aleisa in Bethesda (Navel Exchange), MD to do some last minute xmas shopping. I still did my workouts!

Today I will do XT Legs premix 2 = 67 min + SBF Barre Fire 3 = 30 min and JS D20 Amazing abs.

Cookie - it was hard not to pick something that wasn't fitness related:) I have to be honest, I do have enough:p LOL, that's us too wrapping gifts on Christmas Eve:p My plan is to wrap everything this weekend?? Enjoy your new oven. What are you backing today?

Wendy - I downloaded your books from Amazon. Maybe after the holiday's I can start reading them.

Debbie -the Chrismtas stretch play's Christmas music :) I will see if I can post the workout there later today or tomorrow?

I'll better get moving. Have a great Saturday and workout. I'll will be back later.

Hey girls,

I ended up doing LM CXWORX (FB wo) = 50 min. Really liked it. I also did P57 Thigh Seat Buster = 30 min. I will get a nice stretch in later today.

Have a wonderful day and workout, everyone.

I will be back tomorrow.

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been on here in a few days. Thursday and Friday ended up being unexpected rest days as I did not have the time or the energy to do a workout. Thursday I got my hair cut and colored (had to cover those ridiculous gray hairs), by the time I got home ate dinner and got the kiddos read for bed, I was wiped out. Plus, I walked Baxter. Then Friday I had DS's play in the morning, my other DS's Christmas party in the afternoon. In between I went to Target to get last minute items and then after the afternoon party, I took my younger DS to the mall. We had dinner just the two of us, which was sweet and then I picked up my parents' present. We had a photo taken of them when we had family photos taken. It was a moment when my parents were about to kiss, and then my younger DS jumped in and hugged them both. They were all laughing. IT is a beautiful picture. Anyway, at the mall, there is a booth that takes the photo and etches it in a glass diamond, with an LED light. The picture is a 3D pic, so you see it from all angles and it rotates. It came out truly beautiful. I know my parents will love it. I had the guy etch the word Love into it too. I also got my dad a few items of clothing and my mom some fashion scarves because she is always commenting on mine. By the time I got home last night, from all the running around I did, I was exhausted and we just watched Elf , while I had a glass of Skinnygirl MArgarita.

Today, I did RWH UBC. I added bonus abs one. Have you guys done that bonus abs yet? It is awesome. I love the standing ab work.

Belinda- great job on your workouts. You are killing it lately, ;).

Cookie- I think you meant me, when you were writing to Jessica, lol. The boys were so cute yesterday. My younger DS was so happy to have me there. I am glad I took a sick day for it. He was adorable. My older DS was happy too, but he didn't want to show it in front of his friends, lol. He is getting older now, lol.

Deb- You have some weekend planned! Nice job with the yoga. I still need to look into getting into a class somewhere. It is a relief to finally be on break. Although. . . I still woke up at 5 this morning, ugh!

Wendy- you are one busy lady! I love the cover of the book.

Okay, off to do laundry. Fun, fun, fun.

Kristin

Wendy-

Hi Ladies!

Today was Kelly's Quick Fix Cardio #2. I HAVE DOMS FROM RWH in my biceps. WOWZA.

Surviving the Rachel is live today, and Connectivity is .99 cents, so big day on the publishing front for me (ie most of the day spent marketing via social media and book blogs, etc.) I do need to run some errands at some point.

Belinda-Oh, thank you so much, that's so sweet! My books are designed to be "easy reading." Fast and nothing you have to really concentrate on, LOL. xo

Kristin-OMG I'm exhausted reading your first paragraph!!

Cookie-I get a lot of input on the cover. First, I fill out a form with details of my book, what I envision, complete descriptions of the characters, vibe of the book, etc. I have had the same artist do all my covers and we have a "look" for the Aven Ellis brand which she totally gets. I like to leave the couple as silhouettes so you can envision what they look like, and now it's kind of what my covers are known for. But at some houses you get ZERO input-or don't see your cover until release day. GAH!!! I would die.

:) Wendy

Hi,

Crazy weekend before Christmas!! I didn't workout but have been pretty active around the house;) I'm slowly getting things done. I also join the club for wrapping on Christmas Eve, would love to do away with that chore & bake more cookies LOL.

Belinda - I remember you used to get great deals in Germany at the exchange. Any plans on going to Germany soon?

Kristin - The photo sounds beautiful it could easily be a hallmark commercial:) You are accomplishing a lot this week.

Wendy - It must feel good to have the book launched & now you can catch up on holiday things.

Cookie - It is the nephew who just married but his wife couldn't come. That sounds like a great party to go to. Ds & gf are working for a catering company for the holidays so they come home with interesting stories!

Amelia - This must be a crazy week for you.

Goodnight:)

'Morning!
Belinda, do you have any special foods you prepare for the holidays? Thinking I might make a reloude, which I haven't done in a very long time. My husband likes spaetzle with it.
Amelia, waving hi.
Kristin, yeah, it was you I was thinking of! I'm definitely loosing it. Mentioned the other day I was worried about early onset Alzheimer's, and my dh told me at my age, it's no longer early onset! I have another friend, Jessica, who you remind me of. The photo must be fabulous. Your parents will absolutely love it. Are you done w/shopping?
Wendy, I did not get a wo in yesterday, and it is all your fault! Went looking for the description of Avery's tech problem, and then got reading Prince Harry. I will not start you new book. I will not start your new book. I will not start your new book until Christmas break. I have to keep repeating that. Feeling a bit like Bart Simpson here.
Deb, I prefer baking to wrapping any day! Christened the new range with popovers, and a variety of cookies. So far, it seems as if the baking time is longer by a couple of minutes with this one. It's wonderful that your nephew was able to come. Do yur ds and his gf bring home any leftovers from the events? I used to help a friend w/her business, and there were always lots of stories to tell after! Some are quite memorable.
Thanks to Wendy, no workout yesterday. Doing 0-60 in a few minutes. Meeting eldest ds for lunch, then grocery shopping, and getting ready for the week.
Cookie

Good morning,

I will do cardio ($), maybe KBoxing? I also need to get a nice stretch in today.

Cookie - traditionally we eat a goose on Xmas. I made one 2 years ago, it was like eating a small chicken. That goose was so expensive had no meat on it:p On Christmas Eve we eat something quick, like real German wieners (they are so yummy) and German potato salad. Can't compare them with the ones you buy here. We open our presents on Christmas Eve. On the 25th is a goose w/ German Kloese! I bought a lamb leg yesterday, not sure if that is what we will eat? Maybe I make a Herbed Pork Tenderloin wrapped in prosciutto w/Apple Chutney? I also have Rouladen in the freezer. I usually make Spaetzle too.

Debbie - we still get great deals at the exchange:D The PX sent me a coupon and I saved $75. It was on of the scratch off ones. I haven't been to Bethesda (Navel Exchange) in a few month, lol. We usually go to Fort Mayer's, it's like 5 min from my kids house. The PX is very nice too. I get my German food at the Commissary, they have a good selection on German Food.

Wendy - you are welcome! I need easy reading:D I don't have time to sit there with a dictionary:p English is my second language. Nice job on your DOMS!

I will be back later. Have a great Sunday, everyone.

Hi everyone. I just did Hiit Circuit Lower Body for the first time. Yowzaa! That is all I can say. This one is by far the toughest for me, although I still have not done Plyo Hiit 1 yet (terrified to try that one, lol). My legs are quivering. A lot of cardio and then weights mixed in. Some new moves too that hit the legs differently, like side lunges with a squat that has one leg bent, you feel it more in the other glute. Also crossback lunges on the step hit the legs differently as well. Great stuff.

I am taking my mom shopping for my dad. When we went last weekend, she only had quarters in her pocketbook and wanted to by him gifts, but no money. I spoke with my dad about this. I told him she must feel bad that she can't buy him anything, so he agreed to give her money and give me a list of things he would like. I know it's not the same as her picking things out for him, but she just isn't capable of it now. It's sad. At least she will have something to give him though. Afterwards, my boys and I are beginning our cookie baking. I hope I don't gain weight this season, but I am eating the cookies, lol.

Cookie- I go through three names before I get to the right one in my house and sometimes in my classroom (which is embarrassing). I think with all the stress we are under sometimes, it is inevitable. I am enjoying being off, but I am still waking up at 5 for no good reason, lol.

Belinda- Can I eat at your house, lol. It sounds delish! We are having turkey breast Christmas Eve (just DH and the boys and me). Then we have Puerto Rican Pernil (pork) and Spanish rice on Christmas day, along with a ham (I'm not a fan of ham though).

Deb- I have not wrapped a single gift for the boys because they are always here, lol. I need them to get out, lol.

Okay, bb later. Hopefully I can walk later. This workout was intense!

Kristin

'Morning!
Belinda, I've never cooked goose. Is it much different preparation than for other fowl? Like chicken, since I've never cooked duck either. One ds is very adamant we should have lasagne.
Kristin, once I affectionately called one ds Pumpkin but he got upset b/c that used to be one of our cats' name, and he kept saying I was confusing him with an animal. Now that I think about it, he really did behave like one... Hope you can walk today.
Wendy, well, I wasn't good with very good - finished Surviving the Rachel yesterday. Noticed characters from the other books, and am wondering if Emma will be the main character in your next book. How much of yourself is revealed thru your characters?
Deb, did you get much cooking done this weekend? Are you in stores today? It will be crazy.
Waving hi to Amelia!
Visited eldest ds yesterday, and while it started well, it didn't end well. He's very depressed, and it's enough to make everyone else depressed. Finished Wendy's latest to relax.
Work, then coming home to get daughter, then picking up Mom to take her for a bite to eat then watch White Christmas on an restored performance theatre on a big screen. Believe it or not, I've never seen that movie.
Cookie

Good morning,

XT legs and SBF Barre Fire Tabata and stretch is done.

Cookie - cooking a goose isn't any different than other fowl. You cook it on low heat and season it with salt and pepper. The goose dripping makes a wonderful gravy! Mmmm…maybe I make a e lasagne too? Aleisa invited her boy friend over for Christmas Eve:oops:

Kirstin - oh…no!!! I am coming over your house. That sounds amazing what you making. Aleisa's boyfriend is Puerto Rican. I am not a big fan of ham either.

See you all tomorrow. Have a wonderful day and workout, everyone.

Hi all. Just did Lift It Hit it, back, shoulders and biceps. Although there are really no new moves here, the heavy weight (CAthe uses 35s on some sets) and the pattern with the finishers really hit the muscles hard. My arms are tight right now.

So my neighbor is going to watch my boys for a few hours tonight so that DH and I can wrap up the rest of the presents. Other than that, nothing new to report.

Belinda- My favorite thing about a turkey or a pork roast is the gravy, lol. I hate it when I make gravy and it comes out icky. It ruins the meal for me, lol.

Cookie- I've called both my DSs Baxter at one point or another. . . and it wasn't a term of affection, hahaha! They both laughed at me though. My younger DS asked, "Do I look like Baxter to you?" haha.

Waving hello to everyone else! 3 more days to go!

Kristin

Hi Ladies!

Okay no workout yesterday. I was really tired. Just worn out tired. I hope to get in something tonight. I missed work today because DD has a cold: running nose, cough, watery eyes. Poor kiddo. I hated being sick around Christmas as a kid but she's in good spirits. :)

Cookie-YOU TOTALLY MADE MY DAY! I'm so happy you enjoyed Rachel! :) Yes, each female lead has bits of me in her. I love fashion like Avery Andrews and used to work for an airline (Chronicles of a Lincoln Park Fashionista.) I love sweets and hide crap in closets like Kylie (Waiting for Prince Harry.) I work in sports TV like Mary-Kate (Connectivity) and I found where I needed to be after life trials turned me another way like Bree (Surviving the Rachel.) Oh, and I had my heart completely broken like Emma, too. I am playing with the idea of a book for her, depending on how Rachel does. My May release is The Definition Of Icing (Dallas Demons #2, with a new teammate of Harrison's and a heroine who is a confection consultant.) Right now I'm writing Dallas Demons #3. I have plans for Demons #4 and #5, but might write Emma after #3 is finished (this Spring.) Okay this is probably way more than you wanted to know, LOL!!

Belinda- Are you a native of Germany? It's interesting you say that about this not being your native language-I'd never know that from the way you write! I do have a lot of readers from overseas. Like Spain, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, etc. :) The hero in Surviving the Rachel is a German translator-I had an actual German translator read all German parts for accuracy and check the authenticity of his descriptions of Germany. :)

Kristin-OMG I got no where in the range of the weights Cathe used on that one.

Waves to Debbie and Amelia!

:) Wendy
