Commit to get Fit and Lean in December

Hi guys. Tonight's workout was MM upper body premix, plus I walked Baxter this morning for 25 minutes before it started raining again. I spent the majority of the day cleaning and then baking cookies. Now I have to clean the kitchen and I don't want to, but I don't want to wake up to a dirty kitchen either. I am so excited for tomorrow! Christmas Eve!

Melissa- I didn't see your post yesterday. I am so happy to see you back on here. I have been slacking the last few months, but I am determined to stay on track while I am home these two weeks. Then maybe I can keep the momentum going, lol. This best friend was the one you told him you had feelings for him, but you guys didn't act on it, right? It is normal to be nervous, I think. See what happens ;)

Belinda- lol about the engagement ring and American tradition, lol, lol, lol. I guess it is somewhat of a tradition, but not in my family. If you want to marry a girl in my family, you better buy a ring, lol.

Cookie- I guess I should count the walks as something, but when you work out as intensely as we all do with Cathe, it doesn't seem like it is on the same level at all. I have been adding them to the workout manager this week, and according to the WM, I burn an average of 200 calories per 45 minutes of walking, not bad, but not the same as IMAX 3, lol.

Deb- Hope the stores were not crowded. Are you off tomorrow?

Amelia- nice job on the workout today. I've decided to do whatever workout I feel like so long as I workout for the day. No rotation for this month, lol.

Off the clean the kitchen, ugh!

Kristin

Hi,

I didn't think this year was so bad but after today I am ready to crash. I'm covering for the girl in NYC but since she has a bf she won't be leaving until Christmas to see her family. I won't get to see Santa but I get to have tomorrow off so I'm happy;)

I had a really nice day with older ds so it made the day go by so quick.

Belinda - It is/was an american tradition but I think with so many divorces you don't here about the tradition too much. Your ring does have special meaning so it sounds perfect & it's only on loan:)

Kristin - The stores were pretty bad but lucked out finding parking. Did the boys eat more cookies than they made :p must be so tempting for them. I'm getting motivated seeing you girls are getting your workouts in.

Amelia - 5 is a fun age:) I'm the same way always want to skip ahead in the book.

Melissa - You were lucky that the bank gave you the money but it's great that you caught it right away. Have fun with all your Christmas guests tomorrow!

Cookie - I hope you are destressing after ds's accident:( not the best time for it to happen. Are most of your kids coming home for the holidays?

Goodnight:)

Merry Christmas Eve!
Belinda, how exciting! You'll be gaining another daughter soon. Hate to be a downer, but I recommend you think about the ring, sorry. If it is a gift, she has no legal obligation to return it. And no, my boys aren't getting mine!
Melissa, maybe the year gave him an opportunity to think things over. Enjoy the celebration tonight.
Amelia, the years do go by so quickly. What is the difference between this newer version of BFFM and the e-one?
Kristin, 200 calories is more than a cookie! I also hate waking up to a dirty kitchen. Just seems to make my day seem so much harder.
Deb, you are so generous to help your colleagues out so much. Wonderful to have had a good day with your son. Due to DS 1's drama, the other boys have decided not to come. He drives us all crazy. We were going to Vegas to meet up w/younger two boys and see Grand Canyon (taking dd along) but have decided we should stay home to be sure everything is okay. Plus, I sure don't want him driving my car, which he would do if I'm not around.
Yesterday was yoga, but was feeling FlexTrain from Sunday. Today was AOLHiiT.
Enjoy the holiday and take care,
Cookie

Hey guys! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I cannot believe Christmas Eve is finally here. I woke up early this morning, straightened up a bit and then had breakfast, walked the dogs with my boys and then did IMAX 3. I did it in its entirety. That ought to take care of the Christmas cookies, lol. Last night I made the last batch of cookies, Hershey's Chocolate crinkle cookies. OMG! I've never made them or had them before and they are now my favorite. They are so moist, so chocolately. . . I had two already today and three last night and I know I am having more, hahaha.

Deb- I think I am the cookie monster this year, lol. Although we all had two for breakfast, haha. Maybe that is why they are so freakin' hyper. . . or is it that Santa is coming?

Cookie- I am sorry to hear about your son wrecking the holiday plans. That stinks. My dad invited my aunt over for Christmas at the last minute and my sister is making a big deal about it. Why, I don't know. . . family is family. She always has to bring the drama. That is what alcohol is for. . . ;) My aunt is 72 years old and has been married for over 50 years. She may be a bit set in her ways but she is full of love for us. . . not sure what my sister's problem is other than having to create a problem when there is none. Ugh! I won't let her ruin my Christmas though. . .

Waving hello to Belinda, Melissa and Amelia.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night :)

Kristin

Hey girls, Merry Christmas!!

The kids opened their gifts earlier. My DD made me a "25 things I love about you" book. It was so sweet and just touched my heart so much - I loved it. :)

Kristin-Awesome job on your workout!! those cookies sounds amazing. I made an Almond Joy Cake and it tasted just like the candy bar. But it didn't look like the picture - . Im going to try and give as much of it away as I can today LOL.

Cookie-awesome job on your workouts, your rockin them!! ^5's. I read BFFM a few years ago but the book I got this time was The Body Fat Solution. Its the same author though :) Its more for the emotional / food addict type of person. (uh um, me )

Belinda-So how did your soon-to-be daughter in law like the engagement ring? Hope your feeling better today.

Melissa-Hope you have a great time with your family!! Great job with your workouts too.

Deb- hope you made it home ok. I can't imagine working in the malls at this time of year, must be very overwhelming.

All out low impact standing + step premix + core #1 done. :) This is my 2nd workout this week...im on a roll ladies ;)

Hey girls!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! I hope you all had an amazing holiday! Yesterday, I wound up doing the bootcamp premix from BM2 and today I did To the Max 30/20 HIIT premix plus the circuit premix from Crossfire. What a fun combo!! I need some damage control after all the wine I drank last night  our Christmas Eve party was fun; there were soooo many people here, it was crazy! It was great seeing everyone all in one place. I met my cousin's fiancée for the first time and she is awesome! After I introduced her to BFF she was like "Wait, I thought you introduced him as your friend" and I said "yeah I did" and she goes "oh so you're not boyfriend & girlfriend?" And I said "nope!" Then she's like "wait I'm confused." I go "Girl, join the club cuz so am I!!!" She said the way we interact looks like we are way more than friends and we have that "look" we give each other. I dunno, I dont even know what I thought was gonna happen but after he left I wound up crying like a little baby. Ugh!!

Belinda, wow 2 engagement rings?! LOL!! I agree, it's a great idea to keep the ring in the family. I bet your son will be so happy to give his future fiancée that ring, it would probably mean so much to them! I'm happy for you guys :)

Kristin, awesome job on your workouts! Yup, this was the same guy I had a talk with and we both spilled our guts, but he has a problem with the distance so I'm thinking well why am I gonna be with someone who will just dismiss everything before even trying? But then again I can't get over it lol. How was your Christmas Eve? OMG I keel hearing about those crinkle cookies; I want to try them soooo badly!! Maybe next year.

Deb, glad to hear you had such a great day with your DS! How was your day off?

Cookie, I'm sorry to hear your Vegas plans had to change :(. That stinks. Great job on your workouts, hope they are helping with the stress!

Amelia, great job on your workout streak!! That book your DD made sounds so cute. I Prob would cry lol.

Have a great night, girls!! Hope Santa was very good to you all :)

Merry Christmas!!!!

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. Of course too much eating especially sweets but who could resist at this time of year;) I really do need a workout, tomorrow I'll go to NYC & another mall in NJ but soon I'll barely have work LOL.

Belinda - So did your son get engaged? How are you feeling?

Kristin - I'll have to look up those cookies, I need to make more for New Year's. The boys sound like they had a blast, and to be young & have cookies for breakfast;)

Amelia - So sweet of your daughter & something you can always treasure!

Melissa - I'm happy you had fun with your family. Did your cousin say that in front of your bff, wonder what his reaction was. So sorry it made you sad but hopefully he will come to his senses soon.

Cookie - Sorry your plans needed to change but I get why you would. You may need to squeeze in more yoga to get through it. Did dd make cookies this year?

Goodnight:)

'Morning!
Belinda, is it official? Are they engaged?
Amelia, I'm sure you're keeping that book in a very special place. Your dd is a sweetie.
Melissa, glad you liked the girlfriend, but sorry about BFF. Some guys just take a long time.
Kristin, where did you find the recipe? That sounds delish.
Deb, how was the running around today?
Felt like I've had a cold coming on and it hit full force last night. Sound like I'm hacking up a lung! Going to try to take it easy this morning and hopefully can get in some type of wo later today. Decided to not go to my mom's so I don't give it to her.
Cookie

Good morning,

Hope you all had a Marry Christmas!!! No workout to report for the last 2 day's:(

Thanks everyone about your input on the engagement ring. It really helped me to make a decision, I will keep my ring! We are going ring shopping today.

Today I did STS D5 (BT) with DD:D LOL! Had a lot of fun!

Cookie - no, he isn't engaged yet. It's only a matter of time. Thanks about your honest option:) I didn't think about the legal obligation. You are not a downer!

Debbie - Thanks for asking! I feel much better now…..I was totally confused about the engagement ring deal! My son is a little disappointed, he will get over it! I don't want to lose my original engagement ring.

Thanks Mel!! My husband bought my original engagement ring in Germany, with his last money in his pocket..when we first met he didn't make a lot of money from the military.

Kirstin - your comment made me laugh! We are going ring shopping today. I be honest…there is now way I wanted my DH's mothers ring:roll eyes:

Amelia - how cute! Glad you had a great xmas!

I will be back tomorrow. And thanks again for everyone's input on the ring. It helped me a lot:D

I will be back tomorrow. Have a wonderful day and workout, everyone!!

Hi everyone! Christmas was wonderful over here. We woke up at 6:30 in the morning and the boys were so excited when they saw all the presents that Santa brought. We had a big breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage and biscuits that I cut out with Christmas cookie cutters. Then we headed to my parents' house. My sister was late so we had to wait awhile for the presents there, but it was no big deal. Everyone had a good time. We crashed around 9 last night. DH gave me a $50 gift certificate for Cathe.com and new kickboxing gloves (pink!), some shirts that have thumb holes in the sleeves for when I walk the dog in the cold and a new pair of sneakers. I got him new sneakers, cologne and a sweatshirt.

I ate way too much candy and goodies yesterday. I wanted to test out the new gloves too, so I did HS, the premix with the additional all three tabatas and core #1. According to the workout manager, I burnt over 800 calories. That puts a dent in yesterday's indulgences. Plus I walked Baxter for 40 minutes and I plan on taking him out later again.

I know I want to X10, but not sure what other dvds to buy. I am thinking Rock out Knockout, or Party Rockin Step 2, I don't know!

Belinda- have fun ring shopping. ;)

Cookie- I found the recipe on the Hershey website. There's a lot of good chocolate recipes there. I love their chocolate so of course, I love their recipes, haha.

Deb- I let my boys eat all the candy and cookies they want on Christmas day. It's once a year. Because I made the chocolate ones after they went to bed, they were dying to try it, so I let them have some for breakfast on Christmas Eve. They love it.

Melissa- once you are done with school are planning on moving closer to the BFF? If so, then the long distance would be temporary. I bet you he calls you within the next few days. It sounds like you have a strong connection.

Amelia- that gift from DD sounds awesome. Probably the best gift you've ever gotten, right? Sometimes things that don't cost anything mean the most. Retailers try to tell us otherwise, but it's true.

Okay, I certainly need a shower and I want to browse my options today on the cathe website.

See you tomorrow ;)

Kristin

Hi,

I started out on the wrong foot today:rolleyes: talk about not being focused. I packed my work bag last night & even went thru it this morning but when I arrived at the train station I realized forgot to take my wallet out of my everyday bag. I park my car at DH's job so I run back to ask my SILs to borrow money & realize I also need my ID (license) or they wouldn't allow me in Macy's. So there is no way I will make the train & need to go home and the next train is in an hour, but I did get to talk to my SILs so that was nice. I made up for time by not taking the freight elevator (which takes forever) and walking up 2 flights of stairs and one escalator while carrying a hugh bag of wallets. All I was thinking was TG I do Cathe workouts or I would never have been able to do it.

I also needed to go to one of my stores after NYC so I ran to the train station so I could catch the train going back home. Both NYC & NJ stores were so busy, I think Christmas week wasn't as bad as today & people were buying as much as returning.

Belinda - It didn't seem like you were too comfortable with lending your ring. I think it would have been too much pressure on gf because if anything were to happen to it she would have felt really bad.

Kristin - It sounds like you had an awesome Christmas & workouts! I think you would love X10 not sure about the other ones because haven't done the step workouts yet:eek:

Cookie - I feel a slight sore throat but hoping a goodnights sleep will help. So many people were coughing on me today as well as bumping into me:( I hope you get better soon.

Waves hi to Amelia & Melissa

Goodnight:)

'Morning!
Belinda, ring shopping sounds like fun. So relieved to hear you weren't upset with me mentioning the legality. How are you feeling?
Amelia, mentioned your dd's book to my dd yesterday. She told me I should make it a goal to step up my mom game in 2014!
Kristin, I downloaded that recipe. I love it and have made it in the past. Last time I put candied minced ginger sprinkles on top.
Melissa, I second Kristin! From my brothers and sons it seems most guys prefer things relatively easy. Once you're done with school and are closer, he'll be ready, if not before.
Deb, now that was a workout! Cathe sure prepared you for lugging and stairs.
Took a nap yesterday and still went to bed at 7:30 and slept til 7! So unlike me. Am coughing and sluggish, but hoping to get energy soon. Did manage to do some 100s yesterday.
Cookie

Hey girls,

Deb-Oh no on your morning. I hope it got better. awesome workout on the stairs girl ;-)

Cookie-hope you get to feeling better today. LOL at your DD's comment.

Kristin-awesome gifts from you DH. What dvd's did you end up buying?

Belinda- did you DS pick out an engagement ring yet? I would love to see a pic of it :) I honestly can't wait for my DD to get married (hopefully it won't be for at least another 20 yrs LOL ) I'm already excited about it though. :D

Melissa-I agree with Kristin & Cookie on the BFF. Keep us updated. When do you start back to school?

So. I'm still feeling the DOMS from AOLI HIIT. I must be really out of shape because there really isn't any heavy lifting in there and my glutes / abs are H*U*R*T*I*N*G  Seriously...I had a hard time sleeping last night because every time I changed positions my abs would scream. :eek:sigh...

I plan on taking Ibuprofen A LOT today  And no workout today. I will get in a workout tomorrow or Sunday. I decided for now to set a goal of 3 workouts a week. Im still reading that book by Tom Venuto. The next chapter is the nutrition and workout plan chapter. Im so eager to see what he has in store. He's already mentioned 5 veggies a day and 2 fruits....

Good morning! Yesterday I did Muscle Endurance upper body premix and After Burn rounds 1-5. Today will be ME lower body premix and AB rounds 6-10. I've been mixing up the premixes from different DVDs lately, and I love it! Now if only I can get a handle on not eating these Christmas cookies, I will be good to go

My parents got me X10 and Party Rockin Step for Christmas; I'm so excited to try them next week!

So I'm finally joining the 21st century and getting a Smartphone in January when my contract ends. A close friend of my parents is getting rid of his iPhone 4 but he wanted to charge me $100 for it. Otherwise he was just going to throw it out. My aunt is getting rid of hers too and she is shipping it to me from FL for free. I offered to give her $$ but she said that's ridiculous. I told my mom the story and she is angry now with her friend because apparently they treated him to weekends at their ski house and watched his dogs for nothing, so my mom is annoyed that he was gonna take money from me. Oh the holiday drama lol!

Deb, sorry to hear about your crazy day yesterday. At least you got in some good QT with your SIL. LOL I always TG for Cathe when I do stuff like lifting boxes and running places when I'm late! She really is the best ;) How long will it be busy for you?

Cookie, how are you feeling today? Nice job on the 100s; you're a warrior!! Rest up! :)

Belinda, ring shopping... that is so exciting!!! I'm glad you're keeping your ring; it sounds beautiful and so much sentiment behind it. Are you starting STS again?

Kristin, your Christmas sounds amazing. I'm glad everyone enjoyed it and the Christmas bfast sounds DEEELISH! Your DH did well on the gifts ;) I want those sweatshirts with the finger holes; my friend has a bunch and they are so cute. I've been stalking Hautelook for them lol. Nice burn yesterday! I'm not sure what I'm doing after graduation; there's Burke Rehab in Westchester that I'm trying to get placed in for my internship next spring and it's been my dream to work there so I don't really see CT in the cards. I was thinking about the BFF thing a lot the past 2 days and honestly I think I'm just gonna let it go. I will always have something for him but if he's going to dismiss me without even trying then it's something I don't really want. He knows how I feel so if I have to convince him to be with me then it's not worth it. I don't want to settle, ya know?

Amelia, I start school again at the end of Jan. I'm enjoying the downtime lol. Great job on the DOMS (even though they sound painful) but it means you're doing it right :D How is the book?

OK ladies, gonna go get a workout in and get ready for work. Have a great day!

Workout done! My glutes are screaming. Going down to do my Jameson tasting now. They have a new kind out which I'm excited to try; I love whiskey

Have a great night!

Hey guys. Today I met with my partner for the teacher course we are both instructing starting in January, the week we get back. Thankfully, my dad watched the boys for the day. I walked Baxter twice and I just finished All Out. I wore my new sneakers today. They have such good cushioning, I felt like I was walking on air, lol.

Yesterday I checked out the coupons on the Cathe website. There was one for 20% off purchases of $75 or more. Plus, they are offering free shipping for purchases over $50 so. . . I bought FlexTrain, Rockout Knockout, X10 and Party Rockin' Step #2. With the discount, free shipping and the gift certificate that DH got me, I spent $23 of my own money. Well worth it I think ;)

The new dvds are scheduled to arrive on Monday. I don't even know which one I want to start with, lol.

Melissa- the sweatshirts are nice while walking the dog. They keep my whole hands warm for the most part. I hate wearing gloves, lol, especially walking the dog because I don't feel as though I have enough of a grip on the leash. After reading what you wrote about BFF, I totally get where you are coming from and agree with you 100%.

Amelia- good job with the workout. You inspired me to do ALL Out today, lol. I am interested to hear what they book says about nutrition and fitness.

Cookie- if you slept through 12 hours like that, you probably needed the rest! Take it easy. I always forget about those 100 rep challenges. I should incorporate some this week.

Deb- what a day you had yesterday! I would have just missed the train and called it a day, lol. DH went to the mall today to exchange my sneakers (they were too tight) and he said the parking lot was full. What, is everyone made out of money exceot me? Lol.

Waving hello to Belinda,

Kristin

Good evening,

My workout for today, lots of walking!

Cookie - Oh no, I am not upset at you! I am very thankful about your opinion:D Like I said before, it really helped me think things through. I didn't think about the legality. A lot of things are so different in the US compare to Germany:confused: The last 2 day's my PF is acting up again:roll eyes: I need to get that MRI done soon, I been pushing it off:roll eyes: Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Feel better soon.

Kirstin - we did had lots of fun ring shopping. Have fun with your new workouts. Let me know how you like them, ok! Very good price;) You getting some good walks in. Good for you.

Debbie - hate when your day already start like this. At least you got a good workout in, lol! Like I said, in Germany you don't pass on your engagement ring, you keep it for the rest of your life. The more I thought about my ring, the less I was comfortable with lending my ring.

Amelia - yes, DS bought a beautiful engagement ring for this GF. The ring will not be ready until next week. I am sure DS doesn't mind me posting a picture of the ring.

Melissa - the ring does mean a lot to me. I started STS 2 weeks ago. I totally agree with you 100% on BFF.

Good night, ladies!

Hi,

Today NYC wasn't so bad, it went smoothly:) but so busy. I forgot to tell you yesterday when I was running down the train stairs to DH's work a drifter started to talk to me but I was too busy talking to myself he just changed his mind (he must have thought I was crazy:eek:). Just one more week to go.

Belinda - It must be fun ring shopping;) You must wish all the Dr.'s were in one place.

Kristin - Excellent deal on the DVDs!! You'll love them. I'm shocked by how much people are spending do they know something I don't:confused:

Amelia - The book sounds interesting need to read it in January. It's weird how you get DOMS when you don't expect it.

Melissa - My son was drinking Jameson last weekend, not something I could handle. I agree with you about BFF, one day he may regret it.

Cookie - I hope the sleep is helping you, sorry you don't feel well on your time off:(

Goodnight:)
