::: CHEETAHS ::: Tues., 9/26

Christine -Thanks for the "Runner's World" tip. I previously printed off several schedules from Runner's World's site , but never really looked at them closely. I will check them out now!.

Hello Cheetahs,

Jess & Fitlibrarian--Great job on your marathon & 1/2 that's awsome!!

Just a quick check-in for now. Today's wo was nice and easy. I did a KPC premix. Thank goodness for premixes :)!

Have a great wo everyone,

Katrina:)

Wendy - the race starts at 8AM, so we will very likely be running "together"!

Linda - I liked that one as it gives you times and distances based on your last race.

Well, I guess the gods made me not feel like working out for a reason. The first job wants me back for a second interview! Today, hopefully. I'm showered, so I just need to dry my hair. I don't have a flashy suit for a second interview, though. :-(

It's me again! I'm armed with lunch and ready for some personals now. :D

Cathy: I say forget about bringin' work home and get that work out in!}( :p ;)

Adri: Work those arms good today!

Judy: So which circuit did you decide on? HSTA is my new love. ;)

Linda: I recently read that 2x per week of weight training is plenty while training for a race.

Jess: When were you running alot on concrete?? Thanks for the kind words. They mean alot coming from a marathoner!:)

Carole: How many hours are in YOUR day that you can fit all that in??? :7 Does yardmax ever STOP for you?? LOL

Jennifer: Enjoy GS legs!}(

Katrina: Which KPC premix did you do? I find myself picking the 37 minute cardio one most of the time.

Good morning ladies,

Just a quick check-in right now. I am off to run 4 miles on the treadmill and then standing portion of legs and glutes. I am totally pmsing and have to go do my workout before I talk myself out of it and have a frozen snicker bar insead, yummmmmm! Yes, I have to admit that my obsession is frozen snickers. Anyway, I am off to workout. I'll be back:)

Susan

Okay Wendy,
I did what you asked and did not have a frozen snicker bar,YET}(

My workout is done. I did interval training on the treadmill. I ran 7.5 for 3 minutes and 7.0 for my recovery. It was a great run. I did 4 miles in 32 minutes, YAY! I then did legs and glutes standing leg work. It was HARD doing it right after my run. I don't know how Miss Carole does that. Anyway, it was a great workout.

Cathy, have a super day at school and I hope you get your run in.

Adri, have fun with the weight workout.

Judy, I hope you enjoyed your circuit workout. Which one did you do?

Wendy, what did you end up doing for your workout?

Linda, WOW, we were racing together that day, in spirit anyway. I was totally clueless as well about how to add mileage and I added WAY too much all at once and hurt myself. I went from 20 miles a week to 30 miles a week pretty much overnight. I now am doing about 22 miles a week and just varying the workouts. I am planning to do my first half and I will just add a little mileage each week. Nice to meet you.

Jess, I am glad your knee feels better. Are you still on a high over your accomplishment?

Fitkansaschick, CONGRATS again on your accomplishment. I am going to be doing a half soon. You are an inspiration!

Jess, I am so sorry about your grandma. Please take care.

Jennifer, I really like GS legs. It is one of my faves!

Christine, sorry about your finger. I hate when stuff like that happens. I just had my gyn visit last week and I was glad to be done with it. Enjoy your rest day!

Wendy, Just noticed you posted your workout. AWESOME!!!!

Katrina, LOVE KPC!!

Carole, do you run first or do your legs first. I ran today and then did legs and my legs were fried. I guess that is the point;)

Hello to all and I gotta go get my little Mariah.

Susan

Hey Sekcy Cheetahs!!!

Thats what I was workin my a$$ off with last night}( Its kinda fun though You make up your own English Colony and write a detailed neatley paragraphed plan about how you will survive, plans for food, enemies, ect.

Sorry but no time for personals right now. I will be back later after the gym and will do personals then. Hi to everyone everyone:) Love you all:*

Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry with your girlfriends.

Wow- I enjoyed my deep tissue massage!! It was a treat for my legs! The guy seemed to know a lot about sports/ running related injuries. He said my right IT band was definitely tight & worked on that to help stretch it. I could really feel it!! He also worked my quads, calves, hamstrings, and massaged my feet too. He said everything else felt pretty good, just tight as to be expected.

I did Baron Baptiste's Yoga for athletes this afternoon & will do some pilates/ stretch more later.

I'm walking around much better today & feeling much better all around!

Gotta go vaccum & get a few things done before the kiddos get home from school! Have a great night!

Christine...I am with you on the OBGYN appt. I'd rather have a root canal!! Yes, you might have to avoid the bands for a bit..Good luck with the 2nd interview.

Wendy...you certainly are frying the legs!! No, with over 3 acres Yardmax is never ending!! No, I don't do all 3 acres either...:)

Katrina..premixes are great!

Susan....OMG...you like frozen Snickers too!!! I do the standing legwork BEFORE a run...:)

Jess...glad the massage helped. I bet your legs will feel great tomorrow...:)

I did skip the slow motion lunges from GS standing before my run. I knew they'd fry my legs before 6 miles. The run was nice...I am really liking the Garmin....

Back again, cheetahs…

Just came in from a 5.3 mile run and am guzzling a large glass of milk – my post-run drink of choice. Not sure if I’ll squeeze in the yoga after all. At first, I thought I might even go for some weights, but now that I’m sitting, I’m feelin’ kinda beat…gonna shower, do the minimal for school tomorrow, and then cozy up to watch Dancing with the Stars.

Judy :: hope you had a good workout…enjoy the parents’ visit!

Jess :: glad the knee’s doing better and that you enjoyed your massage. They really do know how to get in and work the problem spots. I would like to schedule massages more often…they really do work wonders. So sorry about your grandmother.

Christine :: hope the 2nd interview went well! Let us know. And enjoy your rest day.

Susan & Wendy :: crackin’ up at the vision of Susan backing away from the freezer…mm, you had to mention Snickers! Susan, my legs are dead if I run the day AFTER legwork. I still do it, anyway, of course…but man, do I feel it! Lotsa hills near me, so I guess it’s the double whammy.

Hi to Adri, Carole, Linda, Natalie, Jennifer, Katrina, Laura, Laurie, Shelly, Katie, Barb, Elaine, Karen, and anyone else who drops in.

Have a great night!
cathy :)

hello everyone,

Its 8pm and I just got back from a 6.5 miles run. I had to get it in before saturday for the half. tomorrow I will do 20 minutes on the elliptical and then rest thurs/friday. Its amazing how somedays 2 miles kill you and other days you can run ,6,7 or even 10 and feel good. I did those 6.5 at a 9:14 pace, that was even telling myself to slow down, now if I could do that in the half marathon that would be great!!

WAAAAY cool! My race starts at 11! I think the time difference is 3 hours so we will DEFINATELY be running together! YAY! LOL :7
How'd that 2nd interview go (if it was today)???

Laura! Good Luck on your half!!! Glad to know you're okay!!

Wendy - YEAH!!! We WILL be running at the same time! That's exciting!!

The interview is Thursday now - I have to meet with 4 MORE people (a total of 7 people will interview me!) and not everyone could meet. Now I just have to figure out what to tell the other company tomorrow. We'll see.

OBGYN is DONE for another year. Oh I hate those visits. I do like my OBGYN, though. She's my height (rare!), my age, and obviously athletic. She asked me if I've been on a tramopoline in the past 5 years (to check bladder control) and I told her that I do Cathe's Hi/Lo. She laughed and said that that was a good enough test for anyone. If she didn't know me so well, :+ I'd love to hang around with her. She did order me to get my finger XRay'd though. It's all swollen and purple - looks bad - but it's not broken, as I knew. She said that it was better safe than sorry, and I did not want to deal with the problems if it were broken and wasn't set properly.
