::::: CHEETAHS ::::: Thurs., 2/8

OK. I'm back and all caught up. First, I hit the basement (52 degrees down there and sometimes I wonder how I ever work up a sweat! LOL). Did a mixture of B&G. I started off with the Standing Legs and abs timesaver (minus the abs, since I did them yesterday), but it didn't feel like enough. SO then I did all the floor work and the stretch. Much better!

I got about 75% thru the Oxygen Clean Eating issue yesterday and I have to say that there really isn't anything in there that I haven't already heard, read, or knew. Not that I'm an expert, but all that info is just plain common sense, isn't it? I admit, though, that I wish there was some kind of chart or table or list or something that shows WHAT falls under the categories of good carbs, good proteins, etc. Does that make any sense???

OK...personals:

Thomasina-I LOVE cookbooks! LOL In fact, earlier this week I cleaned out my cookbook cabinet and TRIED to part with a few, but they landed back in my cabinet. Imagine that! LOL. If you’re willing to share it, I’ll pay for postage! Thanks! I’m PM you!

Jess-you brag away with those proud Mama moments ANYTIME of the day! I love to hear them (plus it will make me feel much more comfortable doing my own bragging, lol)

Christine-ah….weights vs. cardio. Always a struggle for me. I am a cardio JUNKIE and will do a cardio workout whenever possible. BUT….heavy lower body weight work works WONDERS on my body too. I have found that a combo of cardio and the heavy lower body (like PLB, GS Legs, etc) work the best. However, I still haven’t found exactly what works for my upper body. I can’t get them toned the way I want. Like Jess, I cannot read what works for other people because then I start second-guessing what works for ME!

Wendy-I hope Joey is doing better today??? Toddlers, boys, KIDS! It’s not easy. Hang in there!

Sunny-I’m burning calories just reading about your 10 clients! LOL

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia-I’m wondering if I should say this in ‘public’ or not….I think I may have sent your package by Media Mail! ACK! That’s usually how I send things when I do ebay and stuff, but not when I send friends and family stuff. I might have forgotten and just naturally said MM. OH, I hope it’s a quick delivery and you get it by Friday! ACK!!!!!!!!!!! lol Let's hope Wendy's 'feeling' is true and accurate!

Judy-PUB TWICE??? I never thought of that. Oh, upper body is tomorrow for me, I might just have to try it! Thanks, a LOT! LOL

Kristi-your vacation day tomorrow sounds FUN! Kidding, of course! But, I get in those cleaning modes and sometimes just cannot stop! Enjoy!

OK....one last thing. Mind if I announce today's MY BIRTHDAY! 35 today! We're celebrating tonight with dinner at Carrabba's. I'm eating clean all day and am going to enjoy my favorite meal there: Grilled Salmon (prepped with no oils), zucchini/tomato side, garlic mashed potatoes, and the bread dipped in the EVOO with herbs. Not the cleanest.....but calories don't count on your Birthday, right? LOL

Gayle

HAPPY 35TH BIRTHDAY GAYLE!!!!!!! Enjoy your birthday. Nope, calories don't count. Carrabba's is yummy!!!!! There is one about 1/2 mile from my house.

Hi Cheetahs--
I'm late checking in today.. and am sad to say have little time for personals, maybe I can sneak in a few later, but I hope to be around tomorrow!

I did PLB standing + hamstrings on FW and then a tempo-type run for 4.5 miles on the TM.
Then C&W abs. I did this in 2 segments: weights before kid went to school & run and abs later.

I am just happy I got it done, and now I have to do too many things at home before leaving for work.

Gayle--Happy B-Day! You are so young. I just got an IM from the food police who said that in fact, calories do not count on your birthday. So enjoy your night out at Carraba's. When I visited my brother over TG in Fla. we went to that restaurant for the first time ever, and we all really enjoyed the atmosphere and food!

Judy--what a great message to start off the day! You are doing great with speed work.

Christine--glad you're feeling better and you got a nice meal cooked for you!

Ok -- hugs to all the Cheetahs already here and checking in later!

-Barb

Hi everyone! Just popping in to say "Hi!". My schedule has kind of been changed around "big time" because of the snow and weather. I have been doing my workouts at night so that I can ride to work with DH and get some things done. So I have been getting to work at 7 a.m. and leaving at 5:00 p.m.

Hope everyone has a good rest of the day and week! Will try to catch up soon!

Linda

Happy bday, Gayle!!! I hope you have a fabulous day & enjoy that dinner out!! Sounds yummy!! Funny that you have to go heavier for lower body. I think I just gain muscle too quickly in my legs. I've always had very defined, but larger calves. I even have people ask me (when I'm wearing shorts) how I get such muscular calves. Part genes, part working out, I guess! (my brother's the same way!)

Good morning ladies,

I am taking a rest day today. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical yesterday and then I walk/ran for 20 minutes. I was feeling good and thought, I am going to just run for a little bit. The back felt pretty good, but my hamstring was definitley letting me know when to walk. I am not discouraged though, because today I am not sore and I love knowing that really soon I will be running at full speed:)

I will do yoga tonight with my hubby and continue eating pretty clean. Tomorrow is Indian food with Christine and that is definitley going to be my cheat day. Maybe Christine and I can slap each other's wrist if we eat too much}(

I am off to work in Ally's classroom and then off to physical therapy. Have a great day ladies and HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAYLE!!!!!!

Cheers!

Susan

Jess,
BEAUTIFUL pics of your family and your home. That is such a nice desk. My oldest daughter Melissa is obsessed with Tinkerbell. I will show her the pics when she gets home. She also has a purple room with lots of posters. She loves the bratz girls. I am not thrilled with them, but I do allow the posters.

Susan

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GAYLE.................

Oh, don't worry about sending it MM, it'll get here - I'm just so anxious I'm probably driving everyone nuts with my "fingers crossed for today" :D

Have a great one!
Marcia.

Thanks, Susan! Hannah's loved Tinkerbell since she was little. She's not into the whole princess thing, but Tinkerbell is green which has been her fav color since she was 2!! (lime green!) Anyway, I got the bedding & stuff at Wal*mart & the border was at Lowe's. It didn't cost much to do, but made a huge difference in that little room! (which used to be the nursery)

Next time you visit, you'll have to come here!! Wouldn't that be fun!!! I'm jealous that you get to meet up w/ Christine! Enjoy that yummy food!!! (and take pics too!)

Okay...I put Joey down around 1pm for a nap and haven't heard a peep. I am done eating lunch and having my coffee. I am going to hit B&B/ARX now and if he wakes up in the middle of it and starts complaining I am going to scream! x( :-( :p :( :7

I'll be back when I'm done for personals!:)

Another busy day today! I'll be so glad when Friday is here. I volunteered in DDs class this morning, DS has a minimum day so I have to go get him early, I have more homework to get done for this evening's class plus all of the other stuff I normally have to do around here. My plan is to do GS BS&B later this afternoon.

Gayle, Happy happy birthday!!! You *are* a young 'un!!! Enjoy your meal tonight. It sounds fabulous.

Carole, Just let me know when you sign up for Humbolt and I'm there with you!!!! Man, that would be *so* great!

If I don't make it back later today I'll definately talk to you all tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Gayle!!! No worries about postage, but I didn’t get a PM from you. If you would like to email me instead, here’s my email: [email protected] I’d be happy to send you more cookbooks! LOL – I have a lot of cookbooks too, and then some; just ask my DH!

Hello cheetahs!!

I think I’ll get up at 4 instead of 4:30 PST just to catch up with ya’ll. Sheesh, by the time I get up, work out and get to work and go on the first break, the cheetah board is on fire!

Today I got in Pyramid upper body and B&G ab work. I’ll run 5 miles on my treadmill this evening. I forgot how much I like the pyramids!

Hello to everyone! I’ll try to be back later at lunch!!

Hello again ladies,
I just got back from the pt appointment and they gave me the green light to add some light running and step workouts to workout schedule. I am SO excited and a little nervous. I told them I cheated and ran yesterday and they said my back was not to stiff and that to continue with that, but not to do too much imapact days in a row. So, I think I will do 1 step workout a week 1 -2 walk/runs and 2 ellipticals and also all my other weight training stuff. I am going to be very careful and keep using my foam roller, which I love. Just had to share:)

Christine, I sent you a pm

I am off to go get my little one from school.

Susan:)

Hey ladies.

Back&Biceps/ARX is DONE and Joey slept through it all w/no problems! Thank goodness he went down for his nap w/o an issue today. :+ :+ :+ I am hoping to do Long&Lean yoga tonight.

I'll be back for personals. I need some coffee first!:9

Yeah, Susan!!! I'm so happy to hear that great news!! I'm going to run on the TM again tomorrow & see how my IT band feels. I love the foam roller too, and did you see my post above how it's supposed to help w/ cellulite?? (although you probably don't have any, I don't have any yet, but I'm sure it's coming!! LOL) I've been using it regularly too.

Keep us posted on your progress!
