Good morning, cheetahs!! :)

Not a whole lot of posts from last night to catch up with except:

Colleen :: hi!! Sounds like a pretty run in the snow! There's been A LOT of cheetah posts to keep up with in the past few days, so don't worry about not having time for personals...sometimes a quick check-in is all you can do...I don't think anybody minds.

Today I've scheduled to run OR k'box, so it'll depend on my mood when I get home. To quote Napoleon D., "I'll do whatever I feel like I wanna do!" :) It's going to be a high of 38, so it might be a good opportunity to get out there & hit the bricks. We'll see. Today is also our 2nd weigh-in for the Biggest Winner competition @ school. Hope the scale treats me good! :)

Hope everyone has a great Thursday!
Cathy :)

Hi Cheetahs-

Was able to squeeze in UB y’day. JL S&L – still working on finding the right weights to use, but I like the workout overall.

Today it’s a run & abs…

Cathy—good luck on the weigh in and have fun with your run. 38 this time of year is like tropical temps??

Sunny—hope you were able to get a workout in. Your PT set up at the gym sounds good.

Gayle – I don’t know if anyone posted this, but here’s the race info I have written down on Cheetahs (minus your info! and others I've probably missed) But you’re in NYC today? You probably won’t see this.

Christine a 12k in March and a 10.6 mile run in April
Kristi Derby ½ marathon Apri. 28
ShellyC May5 ½ marathon --with a big hill from hell finish
Jess May 5 ½ marathon
Jess June 2-triatholon
Karen--July (?) run in Wildwood -- not sure of date & distance

Susan—enjoy your elliptical. It sounds great. I did have fun visiting my son’s classroom. You’re right about feeling happy afterwards. My hats off to teachers who keep kids busy all day. (And homeschool moms like Karen!)

Christine—great workout yesterday. Glad you’re feeling good. I will probably do some training rides with DH as the weather gets nicer, just to keep him company. Funny to think of 13 miles as a warmup.

Laurie—glad to see you back. The washer having a transmission,eh? Thanks for that education. I sometimes enjoy going to a laudromat, but overall, what a hassle!

Wendy—good job on Kenpo X. The classroom visit was to see the kids writing projects. It was really cute because the teacher had the parents rotate around to the desks and write comments on the kids writing. My son wrote about Chocolate (very interesting), another kid on moonflowers, another kid on skunks (more than just a smelly creature…) I enjoyed it thoroughly!

Colleen-post what you can. We are all in the same boat. Good job running & stretching.
Is it sunny & cold in Minnesota or just cold? In Michigan it’s not sunny enough and darn cold.

Carole--I did B&G legblast y'day and am less sore today than last week after doing GSL. So I'm not responding well to heavier weights for legs...too much DOMS. I'm either doing an interval run today or tomorrow---need to see how stiff my legs feel. Last week I did my interval run Friday instead of Thursday.

Have a great day everyone.
-Barb

:) :)

Good morning:

It 'might' not get above zero today in temps!!!!!!! ;(  YUCK! I hate when it's that cold, I can never seem to warm up, good thing it doesn't last all winter like that.

Tonight I have my step class and then run to the auditorium to watch my niece in a program where she has the lead in a musical type show and she's only in 6th grade, I'm very excited to watch her perform.

I'm borrowing P90X and I can't wait for it to get here so I can check them out and see if I want to get them. :) I'm going to dive right in and do one of the rotation-follow the eating plan and see where it takes me. ;-)

Can anyone give me a lead on the eating plan? That way I can get started and get the right stuff in my house. I'm guessing it's very lean/clean eating??

Have a great everyone, I'm doing a major cleaning job at work today - organizing, etc.

Take care,
Marcia.

Marcia-have fun at your step class. Do you teach this one? It's sweet of you to watch your niece. Very cool she has the lead. I never did the p90x eating plan, but it looks good and it's divided by phases. I think it's lower carb in phase 1 and carbs go up with the amount of cardio yo udo. As I recall it's clean/lean eating.

-Barb:)

Hi Barb:

Yes, I teach this one. I'm running out of fun ideas, though, so I might have to try and watch a few Cathe's vids to get some ideas rolling again. :)

Oh, good, I can't wait to see it and get started.

Marcia.

Good Morning Cheetahs!:)

Cathy: Since you did not get my check y'day, I am thinking you should have it today. Just so you know. :) So you've worn your Cheetah shirt? Does it fit nicely, comfy, etc.?

Marcia: I am not following the X eating plan. I have the book and briefly thumbed through it but I knew I wasn't going to use it so I really didn't read it. It's a pretty in-depth eating plan. You really need to sit down and read the info. Sorry I can't help you out. :-( I think part of the reason I chose not to follow it is b/c I didn't feel like reading it!:p LOL Good luck with it! I really hope you decide to stick w/a rotation!

Barb: The class visit sounds cute. Glad you enjoyed it. Enjoy your day. :)

So today has X Stretch on tap, tomorrow Core Syn and Sat is YogaX. Well, I am changing that to YogaX today, Core Syn tomorrow and *MAYBE* X Stretch on Saturday. I already committed myself to taking my (required) class at the gym on Saturday and don't really feel like adding a 90 minute yoga session to that. I may not want to do an hour long stretch either but I will try to do atleast SOME of X stretch. Maybe I'll do half sat and half on Sunday...I'll see what happens.

I'm still under the weather. :-( My voice fades in and out but is consistently froggy, I have phlegm, a cough and a stuffy nose. ACK! It's totally annoying!x( x( x(

Well, I've already finished coffee #1 so I must go get some more!:9 No work today so I'll be back!:+

Happy Thursday Cheetahs :)

Cathy- An outside run is almost a treat these days! Although mine was not treat y'day; it was more slippery than we thought. Of course by mid day the shoulders of the roads were much clearer.

Marcia- Good luck p90X Perhaps Wendy, Carole and Christine can help along the way.

Colleen- keep up the good workouts :)

Carole - I seem to be playing with LB workouts and doing a la carte sections. Before Mondsy's run I did legs first and had a good run. I may try that order again on Saturday before my EXT session( Elliptical Cross Trainer= EXT new acronym??)

Laurie- It is the pis when the washing machine malfunctions! Outrs is constantly going...

Barb- The Precor EFX5.25 will not work in a 6.5ft ceiling. Your gonna have to move....:+

HI to everyone who visits today!

Today= GS BBS and YOGA! Please hold me to it!!! I did not get the extra stretching y'day and had significant driving time.

Susan- have fun on that EXT. Now have you visited Cardio Coach? check it out.

Judy "Likes2bfit"

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

Good Morning Judy.

Don't worry...I'll hold ya to that yoga! Make sure ya do it or I'll come up there and MAKE you do it!}( ;) :p :7 :7 :7

I'm doing yoga today so you can also come to me and we can do it together. ;)

Have a great day!

morning,
Lots of cheetahs on this morning already. I managed to get out of bed at 6am and run on the treadmill for 45minutes. felt great until I weighed myself. I tell ya, I was down a couple of pds and just eating out yesterday now it had me back up 2 pds. How depressing, is it ever going to end? I have been eating good for a couple of days, then good for most of 2 days and bad at the end of those two days but I am still eating better than I was. I hate having hormones and the fact that woman have a harder time losing wt. It sucks!!!

cathy-goodluck on the weigh in. Man I wish it was in the thirties here.

gotta get the kiddies up!! see ya!

Good Morning Cheetahs. My internet was down for almost all of the day yesterday. I did manage Musclemax and yoga. Today I am doing a 5 mile speed interval run. It's so cold and about to snow here. Should make for some good scernary for my treadmill run. Off to go do that. I'll be back.

Hello ladies!

This will have to be another quick check in this morning. Today is a rest day. Initially I was going to run 3 miles. However, we are having a baby shower for a co-worker during my lunch time so I had to cut my run. Oh well, I will get it in tomorrow. If only everyone would follow my schedule. :) :) LOL:) :)

Have a great day!

Karen, Enjoy your TM run today. I haven't done MM in ages. I have so many different rotation plans circulating in my head for post X. I just don't know what to do! There are so many Cathe work outs I want to do!}(

Kristi, Sorry your run had to get nixxed. Hope you have fun at the shower. My department had a bridal and a baby shower for me. It was a nice gesture. Especially considering I wasn't fond of a lot of the folks I worked with! DOH! :p

Judy—Don’t forget to stretch. It's like flossing. It must be done. I’ll start looking for a new house to fit my new EXT soon. Our house has a nice floorplan, but I hate the low ceilings.

Wendy—check out StretchX and you can fast forward through stretches that don’t suit you. I really like that tape and ended up doing it a lot (still do) selecting the music/no cues option. The book tells you which exercises are on the tape, so it can help you trim it to 30”

Karen—Pain to lose internet!

Krisit – I hate it when life interferes with running!

Laura—there’s always the method of not weighing yourself if the scale makes you sad – but measuring yourself other ways? It can drive you nuts to see numbers that make you unhappy.
Glad you had a good run!

Barb
:) :)

Good morning!

Wendy - Oohh! So you "favorite" workout is tomorrow? ;-) (Core Synergistics). Sorry...I couldn't resist :+ THat one was really a toughie for me. If I would do it more often, I guess I would get better....maybe?:+

Cathy - 38 degrees would feel pretty good after the past couple of days! Enjoy your run, if you decide to do that....or your KB!

Kristi - Enjoy the baby shower! That should be fun!

Karen - Good job on MM and yoga yesterday! I love MM! Have fun with your run!

Laura - Sounds like a good run! It is probably just fluid from the sodium in the food that you ate. It will probably disappear in a couple of day. That happened to me overnite, toox(

Judy - Enjoy BS&B! I have to do that one either tomorrow or Saturday. I did C&T this week and I don't want to be "uneven" ;) Have fun!

Marcia - Yup - if you need ideas, I am sure Cathe's cardio will give you some great ideas! I would love to teach step! Have fun! I have never followed P90X's eating plan, either.

Barb - Enjoy your run and abs. I am glad you like S&L. I had a hard time figuring out which weights to use on that one, too. She went really light on the tricep overhead extensions. But with some tweaking on a few things....I really liked it a lot!

This morning I did a pretty easy 5 mile run on the TM....with two 1 minute walk breaks. My leg is feeling pretty good, so far....knock on wood! Then I did the floorwork and stability ball abs from B&Gs.

Hi to everyone that checks in later! Hope everyone has a wonderful day! I had better get some work done...since that is what they pay me for
:+

Linda

good morning ladies,

i've got a full schedule today. i am training 8 clients. one down 7 more to go!

no time for personals right now, sorry.

well except for one- Marcia, when do you plan on starting your P90x rotation? due to wendy's joy and success so far, i've decided to start pronto! we can start together. i plan on doing the classic rotation subbing the cardio for runs.

not sure of today's workout yet. yesterday i did P90'x chest, shoulders and tri's and OMG what a workout. it's DOMSville for me today}( :D

i will check back in later!

Barb, Thanks for tips to shorten Stretch X!

Linda, You are so mean!:p :7

Sunny, So when you and Marcia set an official start date, let me know! I'm so excited! You gals can come over to the X check in I am a part of!:+

Well, I have some DOMS in u/b from Kenpo y'day! I was punchin' good!}( I'm about to head out the door with DS. I have to go to the post office and Walgreens and I want to take a ride to Babies R Us to pick up some stuff for Joey. He has a $50.00 Amex gift cheque from Christmas that we haven't spent yet! }( Shopping for him is so fun!:) I may also stop at the gym and pick up my pittance of a pay check as today is payday. :7

I'll be back later on!

Good morning cheetahs

BTW..I am using Judy's acronym EXT for the Elliptical, I am a crappy slow typer!

Cathy...Good luck with the scale....I seem to be loosing about 1.5 lbs a week. A high of 38?...bbbbrrrrrrrrr!...have a good run or fun kickbox workout.

Barb...I will measure the EXT peddles today, yesterday was too busy. I think I only did JL S&L once. Sorry about the DOMS with heavier leg weights. As we know things work so different for each of us. I might try an interval run tomorrow. I am getting faster as my runs last week averaged 9:37 and yesterday my run averaged 9:24!

Marcia...wow...way cold there! I didn't follow the P90X eating plan, I went vegan/vegetarian at the same time I started P90X.

Wendy...I just like superman/banana as it always makes me laugh rolling around in my living room! Good job with KenpoX...I never really liked that one. I do like the StretchX though. Have fun with YogaX! Sorry about the yukky cold...I don't do well being sick...

Judy...glad you are liking the leg workouts before a run. Good workout today and I hope you get in some Yoga!

Karen...sorry about your internet being down..:(...good workout though yesterday. Enjoy your TM run today.

Linda..not sure what happened to my back. It just started hurting last week. I thought it could be sciatic but it actually felt like it needed to be adjusted. Weird as it didn't really stop me from working out. Running and other cardio didn't bother it. Just certain ways I moved. Anyway my nephew adjusted it monday, and slowly the pain seems to be leaving. That is a strange thing about your leg pain too. I am glad it is feeling better though. Sounds like a good easy TM run today.

Gayle...hope you all had fun at the Lion King. I am doing a 10 mile run here locally the 1st Sat in March.

Susan...that is great you love your EXT! Definitely just ease into running as not to injure your back again. My back feels even better today.

Christine...I am sure swimming would be fine. I do know how, I just don't do it...:)..The one you posted the link to looks beautiful. I will most likely use a mountain bike though as I don't have a road bike. I am also feeling P90X S&A!!!

Laurie...glad you checked in! I bet the online dating does take some time. Sounds like the girls are busy. Sorry about the washing machine...although new ones are nice...:)...let us know how the dates go...I am on the last 4 weeks of a P90X stlye rotation as I subbed GS and S&H for P90X the first 9 week of the rotation. These last 4 weeks it'll be just P90X weights.

I am doing the overall leg premix form B&G and a 40 min EXT workout.

We bought a new 27 inch HD TV last night!!!! Or TV has slowly been fading...now I have a nice new one right in time for Superbowl!!! Yippee....:)

Have a great day...:)

Good Morning Cheetahs!

I thought I’d start my post with a tribute to a man who was definitely a Cheetah! Jack Kirk, the legendary ``Dipsea Demon'' who completed 67 consecutive foot races on the challenging Dipsea trail through Mt. Tamalpais State Park, had died. He was 100. The run is 7.1 miles across a very challenging terrain. His last race was 2004 when he was unable to complete the race, but he did complete it at 95! I want to be like him!! http://kcbs.com/topic/ap_news.php?story=AP/APTV/State/CA/n/CA--Obit-Kirk_k_n_0ca--

Today I’ll be resting. I’m tired and not feeling 100% - with as much crud running around my office, not to mention that DH was sick early last week, this is not surprising. I’m hoping I’ll fight it off and be in top form tomorrow. Feeling pleasantly sore, though, from the X S&A and spinning.

Cathy – I’m over here cheering you on for your Biggest Winner competition! Go Cathy Go! Or should I say – Lose Cathy Lose? :p

Barb – Enjoy your run and abs! Glad you had fun visiting DS’s classroom! I think cycling to me is like running is to Carole. I enjoy just getting out there and riding – the further the better. I’m sure once I start road riding again (read – once I get my bike into the shop and can get out on it again!) 13 miles will seem a lot longer than it did when I was regularly riding 50-60 miles.

Marcia – Enjoy watching your niece!! I love that kind of thing! Good for her! Oh have fun with P90X – I’m really enjoying it! The eating plan – which I’m sure someone else has said – is very South Beach-like – lean proteins, etc – especially the first month. It’s clean, but he suggests protein shakes and power bars which are not very clean. Most of us followed our own modified version of it.

Wendy – I think I’m going to be facing what you are today cold-wise. I can feel the frog hopping around in my throat. I’m not a fan of that either. Let me know if Yoga helps – I’ll do it tonight!! Stretch X is only 45 minutes. It’s okay – I do it every now and again.

Judy – DO YOUR YOGA!! And report back here immediately once it’s done! *said in best drill sergeant voice*. :+ I could use a good stretch, too. Might do Stretch Max before I leave this morning.

Laura – your eating sounds like mine! Good through the day – not as good at night. But, remember the scale does weird things and stepping on daily you’ll see fluctuations like that. One day you cannot let get you down. You’ll get that back off…

Karen – enjoy your treadmill run looking out into the snow! Wish I was there running with you!

Kristi – I think that’s why so darned many of us are up with the birds and work out then because life has that tendency of getting into the way of workouts!

Linda – glad to hear your leg is feeling better! Great job on the run!

Sunny – hmm, sounds like a lot of us are P90Xing! Cool! 8 Clients?!? WOW!!! I’m impressed!

Carole – If you use a mountain bike, I might be able to go ahead enough so that you don’t cream me on the run! It does look nice, doesn’t it? Congrats on the TV!! I love our HD’s! YEAH! You’ll be styling for the Super Bowl!!!

Hello to all who come after – enjoy your day before Friday!!

Sunny and Wendy:

Once I get it in the mail I will start right away. I'll let you know. I'd love to start the same time as you, Sunny, and Wendy you bet, I'll join you in the P90X forum, too.

Take care,
Marcia.
