Good morning, cheetahs :) I'm SO happy it's Friday...

Marcia :: glad the circuit class was a hit! How'd the b-ball team do?

Wendy :: I don’t mind being exposed to germs, but I’ll leave it up to you – I know how it is with a cold -- sometimes you *wanna* do something, but after pushing yourself through the workweek, your body’s just beggin’ for rest. How do you feel today?

Christine :: the new job sounds like a dream commute. The puppy also sounds like a good idea. Still thinking of you & the fam.

Judy :: I tried to visit the memorial, too, but no access. I would like to see it. Thoughts will be with you today at the funeral.

Carole :: I don’t think I can hold out much longer with your reviews of BBC!!!!! Agghhhhhh! :)

Jackie :: I did get my workouts in yesterday at least, but I went to bed at 8!! :p How is Yoga for Hips & Thighs? I just received Yee’s Yoga Burn last night but didn’t preview it. I saw that AFV episode you mentioned. :) Sorry about the race snafu – but you’re right, you do have plenty of time to train now, right? ;)

Linda :: great workout! I have an appointment next Friday (I go once a month) so I will be sure to talk to my doc. But I am positive it is the meds. The side effects are listed on the literature and I have researched on the internet. I noticed a definite change when the dosage increased. We'll see what can be done.

Shelly :: have a great time with your company this weekend!

Susan :: hope your back is feeling better today. Don’t worry about a belated tooth fairy visit. I can imagine it would tug at the heartstrings to register your little one for kindergarten.

Gayle :: I polished off some Haagen Dasz ice cream last night, too (chocolate fudge brownie – lowfat) :) I think reading your post in the AM planted the seed in my head.

Thanks, everyone, for your concern. I don’t think there are any alternatives to my current meds – they are the “last resort” – but I do plan to talk to the doc about what I’ve been experiencing on this new dosage. I also went to the message boards Carole suggested a couple of weeks ago and was so relieved to find that LOTS of people are going through the same thing. Unfortunately, some people had to give up working out altogether. THAT’S not happening here! But it does feel reassuring somehow to know that I’m not alone. I will manage.

OK, I am about to tackle Kenpo and that’ll knock out my workout for today (no pun intended). Our secretary was desperate, so I agreed to chaperone tonight’s dance. Didn’t really want to, but she was in a jam and nobody else was stepping up… I will be in class at 12 noon, but here’s hoping I get to be one of the 105!!!

Have a good day! More (((HUGS))) to Judy, Christine, and Kristi.

Cathy :)

Good Morning Cheetahs.

I am up waaay early this morning but not my choice. I went to bed being able to breath a little bit and woke up not being able to breath much at all. I was also cold and just not feeling well so I was having a hard time sleeping. I finally gave up so I got up took medicine, made coffee and here I am!

Hot dang Cathy! I was up at 4:30 in the morning and still can't beat you to the first post! LOL :p I am wondering if I'll feel well enough to meet up tmrw just based on how I felt y'day. I hate like heck to reschedule though...GRRRR! What a time to get sick! I just don't want to ruin a potentially really good time cause I feel like dog doo!x( Well, I hope you are able to push through the issues with your meds in order to continue exercising. I think you will. You are a Catheite AND a Cheetah! You can do ANYTHING!!!!:D

Cheetahs-what do you think I should do? Reschedule with Cathy cause of this dang cold or suck it up and go anyway??

It's amazing to me how a simple cold can drag ya down almost as much as a full out fever will! It's not right I tell ya!:(

Okay, I'm off to catch up on personals now!:)

Marcia, I am so happy to have a fellow X lover to hang with! Keep up the good work. Have a fun weekend away!

Gayle, 8 miles that early in the morning? Holy cow! Good job girl! Butterfinger icecream? Sounds YUMMY! :9 Did ya save some for your Cheetah buddies? ;)

Christine, I saw a news clip on the kind of stationary bike you just got in your gym. Looks like loads of fun! I'm glad you are starting to get back to normal now. I remember when I had to put my dog down (he was sick), I cried ALOT but it DID get easier. It's like losing your best friend IMO...animal or not...it's VERY tough! (((HUGS)))

Carole, No one was sick in my house prior to my getting sick. I work in daycare so my rights I should probably be taking Airborne EVERY morning before work but quite frankly it's VERY expensive. I can't afford that! LOL I take 1000mg's of vit C every day though and I believe that helps. LOL @ your comment about Joey from BBC. When I did the s&b cardio last week I was thinkin' the same thing! He's definately a HOTTIE!}(

Jackie, WOW, you did a big leg burner y'day! Any DOMS today???

Linda, Who puts out Last Minute Abs? I've never heard of it.

Shelly, I wish I had the get up and go for spin y'day but I didn't.
:-( I considered going to use the elliptical a couple of times but that never happened either. I did a big fat nothing y'day. Oh well...I think I'll live, right? LOL So tell me, bionic woman, do YOU take rest days for a cold or do you push through it? }(

Susan, You are not the first person to mention zinc. I'll have to look into that. Did the toothfairy come to your house last night? :)

Back real quick to say Kenpo done. I'm sucking down a protein shake and then I have to HUSTLE!

Wendy :: Edited to say...it sounds like you could really use the rest this weekend, so why don't we reschedule? Next weekend I will be away, but April is pretty wide open. It'll be more fun if we're both feeling 100%. Don't you think?

Be back later!
Cathy :)

Good morning, everyone.

Well, our boys lost a nail biter by three points, UGH!:-( ;( :-( But, it was very exciting to watch!

I did Shoulders and Arms X last night when we got back. The weather is shaping up quite nice lately so spring fever is definitely in the air for me, I opened some windows and got some 50 degree fresh air going through the house. ;-) Today is suppose to almost reach 60 so I will be outside as much as possible.

Today I might get in Legs and BackX, but I'm pretty sure I will try to either run or power walk outside, too. My knee is bothering me a little this morning, so I should take it easy on cardio I suppose, but it's just so addicting. Maybe I'll do the power walk instead of run.....hmmmmm. decisions, decisions.

Take care,
Marcia.

Good morning to everybody! It’s wet and foggy here, but at least it’s not cold! LOL I never made it back online yesterday, the day just got away from me.

Road Trip sign up day!!!!!!!!! I have lunch at 11:30 with my girlfriends, but it’s at the pizza joint just block away from my parents’ house. So I’m planning on eating and running right to mom’s house to sign up! Keep your fingers crossed we all get in!

I’m tired. Not sure why. Perhaps PMS, but I woke up when the alarm went off and my body would have NONE of that nonsense. lol. Sleepy, legs feel heavy, etc. So I’m taking a rest day today. If the rain
holds off, I may go for a walk this morning. We’ll see.

I am going to a ww meeting and weigh-in later this morning. I'm a bit scared because of the ice cream incident Wednesday night, but other than that, it's been a perfect week. I should see another loss, but I think PMS has hit (my mood dropped horribly yesterday), and you never know what the scale will show you! lol

Any plans for this weekend? Tomorrow the boys and I are taking a road trip about 90 minutes away, to visit some friends that moved out of town. We’ll be spending the afternoon at their HUGE YMCA….they’ve go a rock climbing wall and other cool stuff. Then Sunday is quiet family time. Workouts for the weekend…Sat is going to be a quick and easy 4 miler and them MM or ME. Sunday is a long run of 10 miles.

Shelly-So, that’s your ladder, hugh? Thanks a LOT! I really like it. I like playing with the high end numbers on days that I’m feeling good. Sometimes I impress myself! LOL

Wendy-I say wait the cold out, and like Cathy said, you’ll have more fun if you’re feeling 100%! I hope you’re feeling better SOON!

Susan-I had to chuckle about the tooth fairy. I forget every single time! lol When my boys tell me that their’s nothing under their pillow, I grab something and walk into their room and pretend to look all over the bed….under, behind, between, etc. WOW! I always seem to find a dollar or two lying under the head of the bed! LOL

Christine-good luck with the interview Monday! Keeping my fingers crossed. My last job was exactly 1 mile from my house. HEAVEN!

Cathy-sorry about planting the ice cream seed. It’s gone now, so no more planting! LOL

Marcia-take it easy on the knee. I’m with you, though, that cardio is SO addicting. I can never seem to get enough!

BBL

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...good job on the 4 miles. Sorry about the not being able to do anything about the meds. I am always reassured with knowing people are in the same boat as me. I hope some days are better for you. Have fun with KenpoX. I bet you will get registered for the RT. I do look forward to meeting you...

Wendy..I also take Zinc daily. What I have read about Vita C is that you double the dose when you get a cold. So, you have to be taking it daily already. I used to take Echinachia (sp) and Golden Seal during the cold season and now I have switched to an oil that I put daily in my coffee to help strengthen my immune system. I will definitely be ready to sign up for the Road trip today...:)...

Marcia...sorry the boys lost...:(..Looks like we have nice weather til monday.

Gayle...PMS symptoms are not fun. I had some last weekend. Good luck at the weight in. I am also hoping to get into the Road trip registration. It'd be so fun to meet up with some of you cheetahs!

Jackie...I have seriously considered doing BBC S&B every other day!...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/8/superbiggrin.gif[/img] I hope you can get freestyle to work in a rotation, it can be tough. You got in a great lower body workout yesterday.

Linda...yes that BBC is a great one. I'll have to check out the cardio and treadmill on that DVD. Good workout yesterday, so is the hip/glute doing better?

Shelly...I think you will lie BBC for a change of pace. The Company messed up a bit on mine too. Reminiscent of the troubles with P90X and the BB site. I did get mine in a timely manner though. That is great you get a free T-shirt! No, I think my cat is really gone. There could be a bit more to the story but I don't want to post it here. The run went great! Hardly any pain after and none this morning when I woke up. I think I am on the mend.

Susan...loved the tooth fairy story...:)...Good idea to listen to your body for your workout. Hope it was a fun one.

Christine...I am enjoying the BBC's. There are a few nice looking guys in it...:)..I do wish you luck on the job interview. I think that is cool you are considering another Aussie pup...:)...:)

I am doing the last BBC today Chest & Abs. Also some floorwork for legs and an EXT workout. I am feeling very goos after my 4 mile run yesterday...:)

Have a great day...

Hi Ladies!

I've been working this morning. And people wonder why I want a new job. They don't pay me enough to work these kinds of hours (I was working last night, too). I'm about ready to get up and do a Spinervals. Got a note from Tucker's father's owner saying that she just breed one of her female's (Tuck's sister) so if it takes, I can have one of the puppies. That's about 4 months, so that would be perfect for us. I'm a little nervous about a puppy, puppy, but to have a little nephew of Tuck's would be wonderful. We'll have to get him from the LA area, but DH would drive to the ends of the earth to get any relative of Tuck's. And of course there will be tons of photos once we get a puppy.

I promise my posts will get more exercise focused and less dog focused soon. I appreciate you all listening! I'm off to workout. I'll be back later for personals!

Oh, Christine, I'm sitting here, getting goosebumps reading about Tuck's future relatives. HOW AWESOME would that be???? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

You ladies really need to stop talking about BBC! LOL. I don't have the finances to be reading about it! LOL. I need to control myself and ignore all that talk. Between that and the foam rollers!

I can't wait to see who all gets into the road trip. Carole, I feel like I'd be meeting a 'star' in just meeting YOU, not neccessarily just Cathe! LOL. And Wendy too! I don't know what other Cheetahs are planning on going, but we Cheetahs WILL get in a group run that weekend! LOL

OH MAN!!! I just went to the website of the full marathon that I was running in October and found out they've cancelled it. If you remember, I'm already signed up for Marine Corps in October, but then someone announced a first-ever marathon right here in my valley, so I was going to defer MC again for this local one. Now, according to their site, there is another group in our area that is planning a full. But there are no other details about this other one. LOL. Well, at least I still have MC, until the deadline to defer! WOW! Now what? LOL

Gayle

Good morning ladies!

Susan - I've used the GS to do one body part a day. That way I could get some cardio in too. Did you remember to be the tooth fairy last night? Yes, kids are too smart these days!

Cathy - Glad your 4 mile run went well. Sounds like you got some good rest last night. I like Hips & Thighs yoga. It works on balance too. It's about 25 minutes long.

Christine - Glad you're still enjoying those Virtual Bikes. Maybe one day I'll run across one to try. Good luck with the interview. Will say a prayer for you. Nothing like being 5 minutes from work. That would be great to get a pup from Tucker's sister. Don't mind you talking about Tucker at all. That's what we're here for.

Wendy - Sorry you're not feeling better. Have you ever tried EmergenC? I use that stuff practically everyday. I say reschedule your GTG until you feel better. Sounds like you could use some extra rest. My bum is sore today.

Marcia - Sorry your boys lost and by only 3 points. Hope the knee is ok. Enjoy your workout.

Gayle - Enjoy your rest day. I need to make my mind up by 11:00 today about the RT. Good luck with WI.

Carole - Glad you enjoyed your run yesterday. Did you do the workout with the standing abs yet? Can't remember if that's with Joey or Rich. Those get me every time.

I did P90X S&A & ARX. It was a good workout. BTW, got an email from Runner's World yesterday. Lo and behold, there is a 10K 30 miles away from me in May. Think I will register for that one and do a 5K on April 14.

Have a fantastic Friday!

Jackie

Good morning!

Cathy - I hope you start feeling better soon! Good job on Kenpo and enjoy the dance tonight! I think that would be cool! I would love to go watch the kids at a dance.....since I am "old" now. It would bring back lots of memories!:)

Wendy - I really hope you feel better soon! I agree with Cathy ....maybe reschedule so that you can have a blast and be feeling good! Last Minute Abs is one of the Hip Hop Abs add ons. It is only 5 minutes and it is standing abwork. Shaun T is the instructor's name. It is a lot of fun....but I haven't done any of them enough to know how effective they will be! But it really seems like I feel it in my core a lot!

Marcia - I am sorry your boys lost! Sounds like a really close game! Good job on the workout last night and enjoy L&B today! When my hip/leg is bothering me I do a powerwalk/speed walk and it really seems like it actually helps the pain...and it still gets my heartrate way up there! I love it! :7 HOpe your knee feels better!

Christine - Good luck on the job interview and the puppy! When my dog, Morgan died, I was going to wait a while to get a puppy....but, as you know, we went ahead and got Madison....and it actually helped us quite a bit to deal with it all. That is funny that you said that about going home a couple of times a day to check on the puppy if you get it.....because I go home on my lunch hour and let M out to play and DH stops to check on her, also during the work day :7 Sorry to go on and on...but keep us posted!

Shelly - We did do basically the same workouts yesterday! We were definitely on the same wavelength! LMA is one of the Hip Hop Abs add ons. It is standing abs and is 5 minutes long....so it is really good when you don't want to spend a lot of time on abs!

Susan - I know what you mean about not wanting to cut down on the cardio....so that you can keep eating! Sounds like me, EXACTLY ;-)
On the GS's, I shorten C&T a bit by just doing 2 sets of the pushups :+ We could also shorten them by doing shoulders on a separate day.....that may help a bit :) Did you remember the toothfairy last night?

This morning I ran 5.5 miles and did floorwork from Volume I.

BBL!

Linda

While I was posting....lots of other posts appeared!!! :7

Gayle - Enjoy the pizza lunch! I wanna go on the roadtrip!!! ;( ;( Of all times for me to have signed up for another "roadtrip"! I would really love to meet all of you!

Carole - I think the chest one was the one that I liked least of all of them. It was still good....but it seems like Rich spent sooo much time explaining moves or something. It was still good, though!
My leg/hip has actually been doing really well! (knock on wood!). I really think the roller is what is helping! I truly do. :) When I ran outside last weekend, it didn't even bother me. Is yours still doing better?

Christine - I just saw your post today about it being Tucker's nephew! That would be great!

Jackie - THat is great that you found a close race! Good job on the workout!

Linda

Good morning to all the fabulous cheetahs! I always feel I start the day off right when I can chat with this great bunch of gals:7
It looks like in a little less then an hour I'll be back to see if I can sign up for the RT. :) Yesterday afternoon I did GS CT, hadn't done that one in a while and I gave it my all so my pecs are talking to me today:eek: For today it'll be GS BSB!! No Cardio, I'm saving my legs for tomorrows 10k:7

Cathy- I'm still hoping your doc can come up with something to ease this energy sapping side effect. But it sounds like you're managing anyway... kudos to you! Fantastic job in getting in a 4 mile run!
Chaperoning a middle school dance? I think I'd rather face a firing squad:eek:

Wendy- I think you'd want to feel your best for a cheetah GTG! And I'm sure Cathy agrees. You must have a doozy of a cold to knock you down so much!! When I get a cold (which is rarely) it typically only lasts for a couple of days with me. It slows me down a little but not much. I think I have a super strong immune system built up after all my years working in critical care. Take care and don't feel bad for taking a rest, it's what your bod needs!

Marcia- Sorry your boys lost a nail biter, That kind of thing is always a bit heartbreaking. IMHO powerwalking is just as effective a workout as an easy paced run, maybe even more so, so save your knee and go for the walk!

Gayle- Hey there, you don't just impress yourself at times, but all the rest of us too!!! I am SO looking forward to running with you at the RT. Crossing my fingers that we all can get in! Sorry your local marathon got canned, but I think it would be awesome to run in the MCM! That's a dream of mine someday. Are you going to go for some rockwall climbing?

Carole- On the mend???? wooohoooo:7 :7 :7 Great news! It must have been a real mental pick up for you yesterday. Sorry about your kitty:(

Christine- I'll be crossing my fingers for you with this new job!
It sounds like just what you need right now! How fabulous that you'll be able to have Tucker's niece or nephew!!! Having an aussie to run with would be great, unfortunately I have 3 dogs now but none of them are good for running with.

Jackie- That's great you found a 10k to run in May!! That is a great month for races. The weather is usually just right. I have a very challenging half marathon scheduled that first weekend.

Linda- Great job with your run this morning! How does hip hop abs compare with Cathe's ab workouts?

Well, got to get busy with GS now, I did Stretch Max 1 last night so I think I'll go for 2 & 3 later.

Hello fellow cheetahs! MIA Cheetah reporting in. I feel like this week will never end! I can't tell you how excited I am it is finally Friday.

My workouts have suffered badly this week because I have so much family stuff going on right now. I stayed home with DD home on Wednesday. All Tuesday night and Wednesday morning DD had a fever that would not break. It started off as being 101.5 Tuesday night and by the end of the day Wednesday it was 103.5. Neither Tylenol nor Motrin would work. Unfortunately I could not get her in to see the doctor so I had to take her to the ER at 6:30 Wednesday night when DH got home from work. We didn't get home until 10 p.m. but at least she got some medicine. She has a urinary tract infection. Also, as you all read earlier this week, my aunt passed away unexpectedly from a very rare viral infection. The doctor has only seen 2 cases in all of his years of practicing. Yesterday was the visitation. DD and myself drove the 1 1/2 hours, one way, to attend. Unfortunately due to missing work Wednesday I could not take off today to go to the funeral, but at least I was able to make it yesterday to see my family. Today I was going to run 4 miles on the treadmill, but instead during my lunch hour I need to take DD for a follow-up doctor visit.

At least the weather is beautiful and warm here. It is supposed to be 78 tomorrow. I figure I might be able to get in a short run with the kids in the baby jogger Saturday since DH will be in Ohio for the day. Then Sunday I can do my 8 mile long run on the treadmill while DH watches the kids.

Also, I was getting really excited about the Cathe Road Trip, but I won't be able to go after all. DH will be out of town that whole week. It would have been nice to meet a lot of you. Maybe next time. I hope everyone will be able to sign up before it is full.

Well, I need to get back to work. Have a great day!
