Good morning & happy Friday, ladies! :) :) :)

Not too many posts to catch up with from last night...

Karen, Christine, & Judy :: thanks for the congrats & support! :)

Judy :: Have fun with new HRM on your run today! I'll definitely let you know when the check gets here.

Christine :: I didn't get a chance to read the article about the older guy, but I got a good chuckle out of the top ten list. Bike polo sounds like a hospital trip, for sure!

Wendy :: good job getting in the yoga sort of late!

Since I swapped out yesterday's plan with today's and took the rest day y'day, today will be the run or k'box.

Have a great day, everyone!
Cathy :)

Hello ladis and TGIF!!

Cathy- congrats on the weightloss!!! you are doing an awesome job. woohooo, the t-shirts on on the way!!!!

shelly- you always blow me away with your workouts.

marcia- i am going to start doing p90x on sunday. join me as soon as you get the dvd's in your hands, lol. i will also check-in with wendy's group even though i am starting in feb.

christine- you are too cute.

kristi- how was the shower? i know what you mean, i just hate it when i have everything all planned out and then something comes between me and my workout. it makes me grumpy. hope you were able to fit in your workout yesterday.

carole- a new tv, YAY!!! enjoy. dh wants a new 60in TV. Oh boy, men and their toys. LOL

yesterday i did plyo legs from p90 masters. it was a goodie. very similiar to the plyometrics from p90x.

today i am going to do the elliptical and then maybe DM Leg blast.

does anyone know where i can pick up dumbbells in between 15lbs and 20lbs? like a 17 or 18lbs?

have a great day ladies. I will check back in later:)

Hi Sunny! :) Thanks! Anything plyo must've been tough, so: great w/out yesterday after doing all that training! Enjoy today's workout. I'm not sure about the in-between dumbbells...I know I've only seen the standard weights in stores around here, but I remember reading somewhere on these forums about magnetic plates (1-2 lbs) that you can add on to your existing weights. Hopefully, someone around here is in the know b/c I'd like to invest in those myself!

Cathy :)

Good morning and Happy Groundhog's Day :)

Sunny - I will do just that. Once I get the DVD's and read the material I'll be right with ya. ;-) Which rotation are you doing? Aren't there a couple of them?

I'm leaving soon for a Tastefully Simple Regional Conference in the Twin Cities. I'll be gone today and back later in the evening so you might not here much from me until Sunday.

I'm trying to eat very good and clean until I get the P90X materials to see if I want to go that route. I am eating on Core of WW now until then.

I'll be around a little this morning until I need to get ready to go.

Take care,
Marcia.

Morning Girls!

I'm sooo excited that Sunny and Marcia will be joining the ranks of the Xers! WOO HOO!}( *happy dance happy dance*

Sunny, So you will start Sunday? Cool! Make sure you come by the January starters check in that day!:D Oh and btw, if you plan to purchase platemates make sure you buy the hex DB's-don't buy the neoprene or any kind of plastic coated ones. They are pretty but the platemates don't stick to 'em. I was going to purchase platemates but alot of my weights are neoprene or some other garbage...ACK! I considered slowly replacing them with all hex just to be able to use the platemates! I may still do that one day if I really feel the need for them!

Marcia, There are 3 rotations: Classic, Lean and Doubles. Classic has mostly weight training in it. Lean has more cardio in it. Doubles is combo of both where you get a lot of weights AND alot of cardio starting in phase 2. It's based on 2 work outs a day though so it's time consuming. I am doing Classic and I think Sunny said she was going to do the same. Can't wait for you to join us!:+

Cathy, I hope you can get out for a run today! Did you get any ice or snow or anything overnight? We were supposed to get SOMETHING...we got NOTHING! I will NOT complain! LOL Kudos on the poundage lost girl! Keep up the good work!

Today is Core Syn...so long as Joey naps long enough for me to get it in! YIKES! I am off for my weekly visit to my mom later on this afternoon as well.

I'll be back!:7

Cheetahs can you believe it is February?

Marcia- I think you are on the right track with eating clean. Except for chocolate:p I do eat clean.

HI Sunny- DM leg blast after a *plyo* day? ouch!

Cathy- Other people have posted about plate mates with good reviews. Let us know what you think.

Today is a 6 or 7 mile run with the HRM for the first time. I hope it is user friendly.

Does any one have big Game plans this weekend? We stay home and watch with out kids. DS has no school the next day. (The Jesuits wanted a day off so they came up with a holiday for the boys) So he will have a few friends over to watch and spend the night.

Hey Judy.

DH is going to some big catered SB party at a hall with a friend of his on Sunday evening. I, on the other hand, will be doing ANYTHING but watching the game! LOL Can ya tell I'm soooo NOT a football fan? :p

cathy- great job o the 5lbs!!!

Its suppose to drop in the single digits here in ohio so I dont know if I will get an outside run in this week. I am suppose to run tomorrow with my friend outside. I will let her decide if we end up doing it or not otherwise I will do my treadmill. I managed to also do the elliptical yesterday while the boys was practicing soccer . So I ended up running the treadmill for 45min,elliptical for 25min and walked the track for 10-15minutes so I would say I got plenty of cardio in yesterday. Also good news, I found out that my company is releasing all of us at work to stay on with the new company that is coming in. We werent sure if they were going to or not. finally we know and can stop worrying about it. this new company is paying me more and definately will help pay off the bills earlier.

gotta get the kids up, talk with ya later!

Good morning ladies! Today is a 3 mile run. I definitely need it after eating SOOOOOOO BAAAADDDDDD yesterday. I won't even tell you how many calories. It was an obscene amount. Actually I'm glad I feel horrible today so I won't have a repeat of yesterday. Today I am back on track. However I don't think I will be having any weight loss for the week, I probably gained all of my weight back just from eating so bad yesterday. We shall see what the scale says Monday morning, which is my official weight day. Tomorrow will be my long run, so I plan to really get in a good workout.

On a very happy note, we have SNOW!!!! YEAH!! However, it is only about 1/2 - 1 inch. Not much but it is so beautiful to look at. It is funny how everyone is complaining at work about the snow, but I would love to see another 2-3 inches, which won't be happening, at least not today.

SunnyD - I LOVE LOVE LOVE my platemates. (Can you tell I love them?) I splurged about a year ago and bought a set of (4) 5/8 lbs plates, and a set of (4) 1.25 lbs plates. They are great. Well worth the money spent. BTW I'm so happy to hear you are doing so great with the PT. Your clients are so lucky to have you as their PT.

Well, I'll try to come back later. Waves to all Cheetahs!!

Hi Cheetahs,
I did a 3.5 miles easy run today on the TM. Before that I did the WU on BodyMax 2 + bonus cardio on LIC , but I used a 6-inch step & my weighted gloves – reason being I wanted to get some greater upper-body stretch feeling before I ran but not too much legs. Both of these segments were very friendly to wearing the gloves, if anyone is interested. The LIC segment actually has a lot of KB-type moves.

I hope to get in some UB & abs later today.

I made this very fun bread recipe from the NY times—you make the simple dough 18hours in advance, then it bakes in a Dutch oven/Stock pot. If anyone’s interested, I can pm you the recipe. It was really great. Not a lot of work, but time planning needed. It
Apparently one of the most downloaded recipes ever from the paper. I will definitely make it again and play around with adding more whole wheat flour.

Cathy—have a fun kbox day or a run – which ever you decide. I can’t wait to get the tshirt.

Sunny – Good job on your Plyo legs! Have fun with the elliptical. I found heavier dumbbells at our local Dunham’s Sports. The selection was great. The hardest part was carrying them to the car!

Marcia—have fun at your conference. I like the core plan overall. It’s good clean eating. I think the P90x plan, if I remember it right, probably allows you more fat per day.

Wendy-- have fun with CS today (2nd time this week for you I think?) You’re doing a fab job sticking to your rotation!

Judy- have fun on your run and w/the HR monitor. I like mine and have had different models since I first got one at the recommendation of a trainer at a gym I used to go to way back when.

Laura—I’m in the same boat anticipating my long run Sunday. It’s supposed to be 4 degrees. Glad you got some good news on the job front.

Karen-have a fun easy run. What’s on the school agenda today for your girls? You must be very organized to home school.

Kristi—It happens to all of us – if you’re like me, maybe you started out needing some extra cals from exercise, but then went too far. It’s a hard balance to find. Congrats on the snow!

back later after I catch up on y'day's posts.
Have a good one everyone!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...nice to meet another 5'4" cheetah...:)...feels like it'll take me forever to get to my goal. Usually I loose some water fast, but I think age has finally caught me. I am just happier my pants fit better and my running is improving. The TV will be great for the SB! WAY TO GO on the 5 lb loss...:)...have fun with a run or k'boxing.

Sunny...you might find and adjustable weight set that will get you the 17 or 18. Like Cathy said the weight plates to add on are good. I think they are called Platemates (I see Cathy found them!). I have those Select Tech Dumbells that give me a 17.5 lb dumbell.

Wendy..I think you could do B&G after PlyoX on tuesdays!!! I did add one of Cathes leg workouts a week when I did P90X. Luckily for me DH isn't ever home much when I workout so he cannot catch me rolling on the floor. Good job with YogaX! Have fun rolling around again today! It's cool to have others here doing the X!

Laura...sounds like you got in a good cardio workout. I am so glad to hear things are better with the new company.

Judy...thanks...I can't wait to see a nicer picture as my old TV was slowly getting blurry! And yes, just in time for the Super Bowl. Glad you got the HRM. I love those things....:)...enjoy your run with the new HRM.

Karen...it has been almost 20 years since we got a new TV! Which is pretty good. I used to always get headaches after a hard run or race. Not sure what it was, I thought maybe lack of food, so I got used to eating a protein bar and taking 2 advil after a race to avoid the headache. I usually do well with water but it is tougher in winter. Have a good run today....and yes the game is getting closer...:)

Kristi...wow...SNOW!! I am jealous....getting on track after a bad eating day is always a good idea. Don;t feel bad, we all do that sometimes.

Christine....well at least by May if 2008 I might have some running speed back!!! I was actually fairly fast on a mountain bike...:)...Sorry you are feeling under the weather. DH and I can share a few colds now and then too. I feel better once I get the new TV hooked up...then how much it'll cost thru Direct TV for the HD upgrade! As for the Polo discussion....I'd be so screwed on a horse, as I have NEVER ridden one....)

Barb...when the one peddle is up and the other is down, the upper one is about 17.5 inches from the floor and the down one is about 5.5 inches from the floor. Not sure exactly what measurement you wanted...?...you got in a good workout yesterday.

Susan..I knew you would love your EXT!!! So cool to have one at home.

Shelly...sorry about the hard work night. You do have a tough job. It really has felt good just running. I know It is due to the weight loss and clean eating. I am hoping for a good 10 miler in March!! So maybe a new Elliptical for you?...:)

Linda...thanks, I am happy about my back too. The TV should be so fun. My DH is awful about anything electronic so setting it up is my thing...:)

I am doing GS back, some abs and a 4-5 mile interval run.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning Cheetahs!

Cathy - Hmm....wonder what happened to my p.m.? It was just saying "thanks for checking on the other shirt order and I would definitely want to order a couple". Let me know what you decide to do and what I need to do! Congratulations on your weight loss!

Sunny - I like P90 Masters a lot. I haven't done a rotation with them yet. I wish I could figure out one kind of like P90X. I used to do the Sculpt P90Masters for a total body weight day during the week of P90X weights.

Marcia - Enjoy your conference and weekend!

Wendy - Good luck with CS! It will probably be better this time!

Judy - Enjoy your run! What kind of HRM did you get?

Laura - Good job on the mega cardio workout! Glad the job is working in your favor! More money is always good! ;)

Karen - Enjoy the run today and rest day tomorrow! (and watching the SB!!!:7 )

Kristi - I did horribly on the eating yesterday, too! (and Monday
:+ ). Good job on the run! Congrats on the snow! You sound like me! When I went out to take my puppy out this morning, it was snowing. It seemed to beautiful and peaceful. I would love to get about a foot of snow! But we never get any to amount to anything anymore!

Barb - That sounds like a really good combo workout! The bread sounds yummy! I would like to have the recipe, if you don't mind!

Carole - Enjoy your run and weights! I understand exactly what you mean about your DH and the electronics thing! I always have to do ours, too;-) I think if my DH would break down and read the directions, it would help! But....that is another story :+ You'll have fun on SB SUnday with it!

This morning I did a 6 mile speedwalk. I may do GS BS&B tonight. IF not...I will do it tomorrow.

Hi to anyone that checks in later, and all that I missed! Happy Friday!

Linda

Good morning. It's FRIDAY! YAY!

Barb-I'd like to see the recipe for the bread. I LOVE to bake and cook and experiment! Bring it on...thanks!

Cathy-I'd like to hear about the shirts also. I missed out on it since I wasn't around the cheetah check in, but now I'M JEALOUS! LOL

Carole-I'm not sure I ever heard you do a Speed Walk. I'm curious how it fits in with all the running you do???

I'm thinking about buying a set of Plate Mates as well! I've found that I need something in between 20 and 25 for chest work. I was wearing my adjustable ankle/wrist weights, but it feels strange doing that.

Super Bowl Plans. My day wills tart with the 10K race. Then we're hanging out at home with football munchies and probably my parents and my fiance (and hopefully his kids too).

Today's workout.....5 miles and Core Max 3. Worked up a great sweat, even in my cold unfinished basement! LOL

BBL sometime! HI EVERYBODY!

Gayle

I am taking a break from reading and just wanted to whine a little (LOL)...I won't be getting a run in this week! *sob whimper moan* It took a lot of self-restraint to only add ONE cardio to my recovery week as opposed to TWO and my class at the gym had to take presedense (sp?) over a run...for my wallet's sake!;) Not to mention the fact that a run is more intense for me then the classes (w/the exception of spin) and considering I am "in recovery", it's probably best not to choose a cardio that is more intense then others, right? Yes, I am justifying my choice not to run to make myself feel better! LOL :+

Now that I've babbled on I'm going back to my reading! I'll try to get in personals when DS goes down for his nap!

:D

HI Cheetahs-
Nice workouts today ladies :)

Well here is the result of my first run with a HRM. I ran 6.6miles. time 1:03.11. max Hr 192, avg RH 179 calories burned 601. The run felt not so great. And every time I glanced at the watch, it said 105 106 or 107. I assumed I wasn't working hard enough and was discouraged. I will have to look at the book a bit closer.

The model is a F4 Polar. If anyone has suggestions thank you in advance.

Anyway there was significant ice and packed snow. My running friend and I agreed we are really using our stabilizing muscles extra in these conditions and we both are getting the hip pain back. We my have to go indoors more often until the paths and roads clear up a bit.

GTG stretch more and get cleaning . Then it is off to the post office
Have a pleasant Friday Cheetahs

Judy "Likes2bfit"

Carole—thanks for the measurements—I want to add 17.5 inches to my height, 69 inches and I get more than 7 feet—which means it won’t fit in my basement. DH and I are talking about whether to put one upstairs, just plop in the middle of a room. Thanks for your race date! Your new TV sounds most excellent!

Gayle & Linda- I actually found a link for the recipe:
http://wednesdaychef.typepad.com/the_wednesday_chef/2006/11/jim_laheys_nokn.html

The dough is REALLY sticky, so when it rises, you put it seam-side down on a mess of cornmeal, flour or wheat bran shaken over a non-fuzzy towel, like a flour sack towel and after a couple hours of rising, just flip the dough into the preheated stock pot so whatever you sprinkled on it is now on top. The crust turns out really nicely with the baking method.

Linda-- Good job on your speed walk and hope you can squeeze in your UB workout later.

Gayle—good luck on your race and have fun with the parties afterwards. Good job on your 5 miles and CM3. Is tomorrow a rest day getting rady for Sunday’s race?

Wendy—well, you can’t do everything?? But I hate it when that happens. Maybe it’s a good thing for your p90x goals. It is your recovery week….so there’s always next week to add in that run or do a little extra on one day.
