:::: CHEETAHS :::: Sun ~ March 25

Hi, Carole. We were typing at the same time. Funny about the dog! A bark bigger than his bite, hugh? Glad the run went well. How's the weather???

I just came back real quick to add something about the RT (sorry, if this gets to be too much for those not able to go), but somebody asked about when I was going/coming. Cathe's gym is about 75 minutes from my place. So my plan is just like I did in 1005. I drove to the Philly Airport and picked up my friend (her name is Jean) and we drove together from there to Cathe's gym. Or tentative plan is to get there early enough so we can get in a workout on the weight machines before the meet & greet. Then We're planning on staying just a bit later after the farewell breakfast Sunday to get in one last final Hurrah of her gym, before I drop her back off at the airport and I continue on home.

OK.....mud monsters downstairs calling for me! BBL

Gayle

Hello again! Wow, BBC really kicks the booty but good! Linda,
if you check in to day I got to thank you for initially sparking my interest in this. I did Chest and Abs today and also went on to the Cardio and Treadmill options. OMG!! I can't believe I actually had that TM up to 10mph:eek: I didn't think these old legs could go that fast, but I couldn't resist the challenge.

Catching up on a few cheetahs I missed earlier.

Jackie- 85 degrees today? Wow, aren't you in Tennessee? That is warm  Have a fantastic rest day and thanks for the B day wishes!
DH and I are just having some people, friends and family, not a lot .. for Lasagna. I have a twin sister so we're celebrating her turning 50 also. She's a whole 6 minutes older than me but I can
still claim to be younger;-)

Susan- What a fun girlfriend night you had! I was intrigued by the Adam Sandler movie and was considering going, you have me sold!
Sounds like you have a lovely day planned with your DH!

Carole- Glad the trail run went well, LOL about that German Shepherd who turned out to be a pansy!

Gotta get to cleaning!

ShellyC

Carole :: too funny about the shepherd! I have to admit, running has made me a little gunshy when it comes to dogs - been chased too many times!

Shelly :: glad to hear BBC gave you a good workout!

Gayle :: I previewed Yoga Burn just now, but it isn't chaptered (I'd hoped to maybe do a shorter premix). So, I think I'll save it for this week in place of YogaX. Looks like it'll be challenging...Don't worry about posting about the RT - doesn't bother me in the least! :)

Christine & Sunny :: that would be great if you two can manage a GTG!

OK, I just finished L&B and am going to take a breather before I bang out ARX. So, at the end of the week, Plyo and Yoga got the ax. But ya know, based upon what I see in the mirror, I seem to still be getting results, so I'm just gonna keep doin' the best I can. I hope to have a stronger week this week, but I will have to rearrange my rotation again - did I mention I am going away on the weekend? A few of my friends have surprised me with a ski getaway as an early b-day present. I have no idea where we're going, but I think it's up in VT.

Hey everyone! It has been such a good weekend! I really hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend, as well!

Heather - Welcome! Congratulations on all that you have accomplished! Good luck on your goals! Looks like a great plan! I am sure that you will accomplish them! I think the water running is a great idea! A bit about me...I am a 48 y/o mom of 2 wonderful daughters (28 and 25) and 2 grandchildren....4 and 2 w/o. I also have 2 stepdaughters...the very same age as my daughters! I love to workout with Cathe, running and a variety of other workouts! I am glad you decided to check in with us! I have read your posts on the board, also!

Shelly - I am sooo glad you like BBC! Isn't that cardio on the TM tough? It really pushed me to the max! I really am glad you like them! Happy Birthday!!!! Hope you have a wonderful one! You sure do not look your age and with all of your energy and endurance....I feel like I am "talking" to someone 1/2 your age! Isn't it wonderful what fitness can do for a person! I hope and pray that it stays that way for all of us!

Christine - That is such an adorable picture! Those little puppies look so cuddly and precious! I would love to have a Cheetah get together, too! I would really like to meet you guys! I don't get to go on the Cathe trip, either ;( It will be nice, though, for you do see your sis and dad!

Sunny - That sounds like that will be a great workout! That is awesome that your DH is running with you! Have fun!

Gayle - Thank you so much for posting about your 4.5 mile run with your own music before itread! I ran outside this morning and did 7 miles, but I really was not ready to stop....but my iTread outside program was finished. I kept going for a while....but stopped. Next time...I will do what you did! Great job on your run! Glad you are having such a good weekend! Yummy! Beef Stew!

Jess - You have done such a wonderful job increasing your fitness level and losing weight! That is awesome! One of these days....if God is willing....I want to be able to run a marathon. Heck...I will be happy with my half!

Wendy - Oh my gosh! You poor thing! If I drank regular coffee at night...I would not get a minute of sleep! I am a person that if I drink decaf at night....it keeps me awake! :+ I hope you get some rest and some sleep tonight!

Carole - I'll keep my fingers crossed that your trail run doesn't cause you any pain! That foam roller is amazing, isn't it? Enjoy your run!

Susan - The walk and coffee/tea with your DH sounds so nice! Enjoy! Sorry your glute is acting up! I would love to see that movie!

Cathy - Hope you have a wonderful day and get some rest! Enjoy whatever workout you do! Maybe crashing and relaxing this afternoon will help you feel better! Sure hope so!

Jackie - Enjoy your rest day and beautiful weather! I feel for you ...I don't get to go on the road trip, either ;(

Yesterday I helped my youngest daughter and SIL move into their new house. They sold their first house and bought a new one. Then I came home and rested a bit and then did Body Max 2. This morning I ran outside for 7 miles. The weather was beautiful and 83 degrees today. When I ran it was around 75 degrees. It felt soooo good!

Hi to anyone that may check in later, or that I may have missed, unintentionally!

Talk to you guys later!

Linda

OK, ladies ~ I feel like I can rest now :)...I did ARX & Fluidity Intermediate minus the u/b.

Linda :: sounds like a gorgeous run you had today. How's the Fluidity going? I am struggling to fit it in and have managed only 1x per week. I'm not certain my form is really 100%.

Cathy - (hanging head in shame and embarrasment ;)) I have not done any Fluidity for a couple of weeks. I am like you...I am not sure of my form, either. And I really have a hard time fitting it in. I do like it a lot...and I am sure it is really good for me....but I have not taken the time to do it lately :-( That is what happens with me with yoga, too!

Linda

Hey Cheetahs!

I'm so happy to hear that it seems all of the Cheetahs will be in the same hotel as me! WOOH! They better watch out!:p

BBC Butt and Legs weight portion is done and now I have to hit the showers. I'm meeting a friend for coffee in a little while.

I'll be back later for personals!:)

Hi everyone. I'm back. I have to say I ran the best race I could
possibly run. First off I caught the bus this morning at about 7:30
which took me to Cape May. The wind was kicking. I mean to tell you
it was wind beyond wind. The gusts were something like 40 mph. Even
with that I felt as if I had worked to hard to let the wind get to
me. So they sang the Star Spangled Banner as we all lined up. There
were lots of marathons as well as tons of folks running the 10 miles.
I felt like a real athelete. It is such an experience to be bunched
up like that waiting for Your Mark Get Set GOOOOO. My goal was to
finish at around 1:45. Since this was my first experience in a big
race I figured I would give myself a doable goal. Anyway as I running
along I am finding different people to run with as we fight this
wind. During breaks of the wind I got to enjoy all the scenary Cape
May had to offer. I got to go over two huge drawl bridges which were
breathtaking. It was great. I kept pace with this one guy running the
marathon. I noticed I kept passing quite a few people with 10 mile
race bibs. They were yellow, marathoners were white. Anyway I ran
with this one guy for a good two miles toward the end of mile 7 when
I noticed " Hey I"m really on pace to do a nice run". Anyway about
mile 8 we make our turn to the boardwalk where I know the end is in
sight. I pass my running friend up to try and sprint to the finish. I
wound up finishing at 1:32 minutes. Can you believe that. All that
training paid off. I was so proud. Joe and the girls were looking for
me as they headed back to the 10 mile finish area. They were not even
back yet. I told Joe I was going to be longer. He hurried up and
darted back to the finish to get my pic and my one daughter ran
beside me on the boardwalk as I ran passed her to the finish line.
This was such a big accomplishment for me. I can't even put it into
words. I had no idea I was going to do that well. I know I finished
186 but I don't know out of how many yet. I know the board was at at
least 430 when I went inside. When they post the results tomorrow I
will let you know what I came in in my age group. I am so proud of
myself. I really am. I'm going to do the full next year. I have it in
me. I know I do. I will post more later but I wanted to tell all of
you. My Cathe support team. Thanks for the encouragement during my
training. You got me to the 1:32 with all your encouragment. Karen

Susan - Glad you enjoyed your night out and the burrito and blondie brownie sounds yummy. Thanks for the movie review. I'm not normally an Adam Sandler fan either. Nice time with dh too.

Cathe - Yes, in TN and it's a hot TN for right now. Sounds like you had a nice workout today. Something not too taxing right?

Christine - I'm sure you'll be happy with either puppy but I'm rooting for Moose. :)

Carole - Funny about the German Shepherd. All bark and no bite, huh? Glad you had a nice run.

Gayle - It's nice to be reading about everyone's plans for the RT. I'm excited for everyone getting to go.

Shelly - Glad you like BBC. Those tm workouts are some butt kickers. Wow, a twin! How nice! Identical?

Linda - Having a beautiful day to run outside makes it all worth it. Good job on the 7 miles.

Karen - Congratulations on that great 10 mile finish!! WOOHOO!! You have got to feel awesome. Great job!!

Have a good night everyone!

Jackie

hI,

I have been MIA for awhile. I have been fighting bronchitis again. I havent worked out much and we are still in the works of signing for the building contract. we are waiting for another builder to quote us a price and byt he end of the week we will decide who to go with. we also are waiting for the survey guy to get out to the property and do what he needs to do.either way we will sign something to get things going this week.I ran a little today but had to take walking breaks since I am still having trouble breathing but I am listening to my body. I passed on the 5k race yesterday that everyone else I know did. I wasnt to disappointed since I havent been real into the race thing the past few months with everything else going on . I hope I get the itch again to race but I just havent had the urge. anyway, I am excited for you that get to go see cathe this summer. Maybe next summer I can go but I would have to pass anyway with all the money we are putting into the house. have a good night everyone!

Cheetahs Check-in

Good evening, Cheetahs! Thank y’all for such a warm welcome! :) I feel right at home here! :7

I was planning to do a workout first thing this morning, but I was sidelined with cramps from hell. Then my heating pad chose this day to die on me. I had to make an emergency run to the store to buy a new one.

I was a little concerned because airfare to Philadelphia has doubled since Cathe first stating talking about the Road Trip. No worries because I checked my account and figured out a way to fly first class on miles! I had to buy some miles to qualify, but it was still way cheaper than paying for plane tickets. This will be my first time to fly first class. I am excited! I put my tickets on hold for a few days until the extra miles are credited to my account.

With the money I saved, I bought a pair of Asics Gel 1120 running shoes tonight. I went to Academy for walking shoes, but I ended up buying these instead. Walking shoes do not feel good on my feet. I tried on countless walking shoes and running shoes before settling on this pair. Wow! They feel amazing on my feet. They are so much cushier and more comfortable than my Nike Shox running shoes and cheaper too! I feel like a real Cheetah. ;-) These are the running shoes I bought:

I am a workout shoe junkie! It is a big joke in my other check-ins because I cleaned out my closets earlier this month and discovered 22 pairs of workout shoes! I have added a pair of water running shoes and this pair of running shoes to my collection since then! I need a shoe intervention! :7 I am planning to take some of them to the consignment shop or donate them to charity. I promise! ;-)

After my cramps settled down, I finally did Tracie Long’s Better Burn Better Buns. I love the stretches in this one. The medicine ball cardio is fun too, and my lower body felt good by the end of the hour. I am looking forward to Jen’s workout later this week.

I gave up chocolate and cheese for 40 days. I started my 40-day fast on Valentine’s Day, so this is the final day for me. I have been meat free since New Year’s Eve and do not miss it at all, but I am definitely ready to enjoy cheese in moderation again. I have basically maintained my weight and size this month. Trying to eat too clean usually backfires on me. I definitely prefer a plant-based way of eating with only small portions of cheese, yogurt, and eggs in moderation. Step away from my cheese and chocolate tomorrow, and nobody gets hurt! :7

Wendy, we were sleeping at exactly the same time last night. I went to bed at 3:00 a.m. and woke up at 6:00 a.m. which would have been an hour later in Jersey. I saw you online after midnight and wondered why you were still awake. I am so excited that you and Cathy will be crashing the party! I am looking forward to meeting you! By the way, I love line dancing. ;-)

Cathy, I am a big nut! I love nuts too! :7

Jess, thank you for sharing your story with me. It always encourages me to read about someone who has been overweight and conquered it. I hope you enjoyed the missions conference.

Gayle, do you remember me? We did a 12-week challenge together last year. I am still checking in with Jean and Wendy. I am staying at the Fairfield too with my friend Kathy who did the 12-week challenge with us and my friend Kim.

Carole, what is the purpose of a foam roller? I have been seeing a lot of posts about foam rollers lately.

Christine, thank you so much for the sweet response to my PM last week. My friend’s memorial service was beautiful. I feel so much more at peace now. Those puppies are adorable. I hope you get one soon. I think it will help the healing process. It would be so nice to get one of Tucker’s relatives.

Shelly, happy 50th birthday! I look forward to getting to know you in the various check-ins and meeting you in August.

Jackie, I am so sorry that you did not get a spot for the Road Trip. I would love to meet you. Cathe is already talking about having more than one Road Trip next year.

Susan, it is good to be checking in with you again. I love Mexican food. :9

Sunny, I am so excited to be checking in with you again too. I miss you! How is the personal training going?

Linda, is that you in your avatar? If so, you look way younger than your age!

Karen, great race! Do you remember me from the 12-week challenge check-in?

Laura, I hope you feel better soon.

Blessings,
Heather B.
