::: CHEETAHS ::: Sun., 9/10

Hey All!!

Just a quick hello between boxes and football games (those are running in the background). No run today, strictly boxes. The house is really starting to come together, but there is so much STUFF!!! Even my dad is shaking his head and it's his stuff! My eating has been horrid - I swear I ate a whole basket of hush puppies the other night! (If you have never had a real southern hush puppy you're missing out, but low fat or healthy they are not). But I'm doing so much moving of things that I haven't gained a pound. I'm sore in places even Cathe hasn't reached. I feel like I'm 99 years old, every morning when I get out of bed. It's kind of funny. But, as I get warmed up, I'm okay. Tomorrow I head home. Normally the thought of a 6 hour plane ride makes me cringe. I'm kind of looking forward to it... :+ Anyway, by Tuesday I'll be back to posting personals. Right now I'm enjoying a quick break, then it's back to MORE boxes... *sighs* But, at least I have an incredible ocean view while I'm doing it.

Hope y'all are having a simply fabulous Sunday.

Yesterday I experimented with running without taking Claratin D. Results of my run yesterday tell me that I do better without the Claratin D.
The first 4 miles of the run flew by. We stopped and went to the bathroom and crossed a busy intersection to begin the final 4 miles of our run . This run is the route I have tripped on twice before. My partner was warning me about potential trips and really watched out for me

Upon finishing we high fived each other and said "I know I could do 1 more loop (4 more miles)." But since we are in taper we quit. It is great knowing that we could have gone on and will be ready for our race day.

Today while walking into Mass I TRIPPED! Some kids laughed at me and I scolded them for it. It ripped of part of my right toe nail. I guess I better not wear open toed shoes the next two weeks. I woulld hate for a silly injury to take me out of the race.

This week I am going to experiment with moving my workouts to after school. I think I will be more able to do Cathe when I am more awake, also I will be able to continue with longer distances if I can run in the day light. Still kind of hot though.

Wendy....thanks...you are a sweetie. I felt so much better after the run today...:)...not sure what is next for John. But his being realeased by Oct 5th means he will make it to my other nephews wedding on Oct 7th...they had made kind of a pact about that!

Shelly...yes we do get into those funks sometimes...I am glad you had a good workout today. I do think the Elliptical has helped with my running...:)

Cathy..I do hope you know I was kidding about the bigger phrase! It seems men do that all the time!!! I will give you the specs on my Garmin. It is about 2 and 1/8 inches across and 2 inches in length, then a bit drops down in the length over your wrist. I find it a bit bulkier than my Polars or Timexes but not having to deal with the sensor strapped to your arm is so worth the size...:)...My sister has one of the 1st Garmins and it is alot bulkier than mine. I can try and help you with a rotation if you let me know what DVDs you want to use and what type of results you are looking for. Email me anytime...

Colleen...great job on the 3K!!!!

Christine...I am envious of your ocean view...one thing I miss about Southern Cal...

Natalie...I take ZyrtecD and it does not seem to affect my workouts or runs. My sister took a nasty fall today when we were trail running. (one of the hazards)..it seems easy to trip as you tire..you really have to concentrate on picking up your feet...:)

I DID IT!!!!!!!!

I ran my 10 miles and it was good. I had no problem with the first 8 and my body still felt pretty good, but the last 2 were pretty hard. My knees and my feet started to hurt. But, I did not walk and I was so proud of myself at the end. Thanks for all the encouragement. My 10k is in one week and I think this week I will taper off a little and add a few rest days. I am definitley feeling it my legs right now though. I think I may be sore tomorrow morning.

Have a great day guys!!!

Good evening Cheetahs!

Sounds like you all have been busy today. Late post for me again, so I'll make it brief. Today, was a quick 3 mile run on my treadmill. I wanted to add abs in but I just didn't feel like it, plus I was running short on time. I hate thatx( ...it's Sunday, my day off, and I'm short on time?

Enjoy what's left of the weekend everyone and I'll catch up with you guys tomorrow:).

Katrina

Christine…so BoxMax is beatin’ you up, huh? Well, then, I guess you don’t have to feel TOO guilty about a little indulging. What is a hush puppy? Like a hash brown? Enjoy that ocean view a little longer, and have a safe flight home tomorrow.

Carole…ohhhhhh <smacks forehead> OK, I’m relieved! I thought you thought I was challenging you…lol. And yeah, you’re right – guys do that all the time. However, in this case, smaller is better, :) and your Garmin does sound a tad bit smaller than mine. I would love some rotation help…will email you shortly.

Susan…way to go on the 10 miles…with no breaks!! WOW! You rock!

Adri…no problem…will do.

Hi to Judy, Colleen, and Natalie.

Aaaahh, the weekend's over already. Now for the 1st full week of school...

ETA: Hi to Katrina, too. We must've posted around the same time.

-Cathy :)

Katrina- LOL! Sometimes I feel like that too. Short on time on a day you don't have to work or go to school. Sounds weird ha}:)+

Cathy- Thanks SOOOO much girl!!! Your so great;-) I can't wait!!

Have a great night cheetahs. Will do a quick check in tomorrow morning then be back later for more. Again, I love talking to you cheetahs in the morning. It makes my day alot better! I know it sounds weird but you guys are great. I love yea:*

I am an idiot!

I was just telling my husband about the Cheetahs and how inspirational you all are and that I was so proud of doing my first 3k. He goes what? You did a 5k! (He ran with me.) I did my first 5k in 32minutes 44 sec.

I need brain vitamins.

Have a great night, Cathy, Katie, Laurie, Laura, Elaine, Shelly, Pamela, Christine, Carole, Adri and anyone else I missed.

Colleen

Colleen- LOL:+ Great job on your rime! Keep it up cheetah;-) Don't worry your brain doesn't need vitamins! LOL

have a great nite cheetahs!

Elaine: I've been training for the Maui Half next Sunday, and then on Oct 22, I'll be running in the Nike Half in San Francisco. Hopefully I won't regret running two half-marathons within a month of each other ;).

Thanks for the advice on the bladder problem, guys! I'll keep playing around with the fluid intake... The TnT coaches have always given us the guideline that we should be drinking ~ 16 oz/hour that we are out there. I pretty much stick to that, and I make sure to drink in sips (I use a Camelbak when I run). I usually don't drink anything before a run to minimize the bathroom thing, and I'm ok for the first hour, but after that first hour, it's pretty much just a matter of time before I find myself looking for a porta-potty LOL. As I mentioned, I switched electrolyte drinks this year (did both of my half-marathons last year with Emergen-C as my electrolyte replacement; this year I'm using Ultima), and it DEFINITELY helped, but I guess 8 miles must be my max mileage, and then I really do have to answer to my bladder ;).
