::: CHEETAHS ::: Saturday, 10/7

Sunny--enjoy your rest day. A teacher of one of my kids is moving somwhere in NC next month. It sounds like a beautiful place to live.

Christine--the Roomba works surprisingly well. My DH programs it (it would not be possible for me to do it). and is master of it. He watched Lost in Space as a kid and there was a robot character on there that he feels some bond with that allows Roomba to be something more than a flat disc that maniacally circles through the house vacuuming up bugs and what not...
Quote from DH, looking very earnest: ''You know for the hallway, I may need to program in a virtual wall for it ..." Ah, yes, the virtual wall........

You are right that you are lucky to have your DH run with you. Sounds like a good meal plan for the night. Good luck!

Hi Cheetahs! Popping in w/ some sad news. My Grandma passed away at 5:14AM this morning. We knew it was coming & thankfully my brother flew in safely last night. He & I were able to visit her one last time about 10PM last night & spent some time just talking to her & holding her hand. (she was unresponsive by that point, but it was still good to be with her) Mom, her brother, & sister were all there w/ her when she passed on. Funeral arrangements are being made & my younger brother is trying to get a ticket in from TX to come for the funeral. I'm glad that she is no longer suffering & she is at peace now.

We've had lots of nice friends/ relatives bring by food & have had lots of calls. We're going to my Uncle's for dinner tonight so we can all be together. There's one thing about a funeral, it's a great way to get all of the family together.

Just thought I'd let you know. I probably won't be online much, I'll be staying at Mom's for a few days helping out. Thankfully the girls are off school on Monday. I did pack KPC, KM, & PUB so I still have Cathe with me even away from home. ;-) And I did use Mom's treadmill for a 3 mile power walk (w/ major incline) this morning.

Thanks for your support.

Good morning everyone!

Elaine - go girl! Good luck!

Sunny - Enjoy your rest day and stretch!

Susan - glad your sciatica handled the 4 mile run well yeserday! That is a good is a good sign!

Christine - Oh my! That is a long race for someone to run without training for it, even if they are in great shape from doing other types of exercise! Hope he does well and doesn't tire out! Hope you don't have to go it "too" slow for you! Especially with all the prep you did !

Shelly - Great workout! I wish I had the patience and talent for landscaping! My oldest daughter is so good with that and she could spend every spare minute (when she is not working out) doing it!

Karen - I am so sorry about your MIL's husband. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

coco - hope you get time for a breather! Sounds like you are super, super busy!

Carole - I got a 305, too. I am really excited about it. I was going to try it out today, but had to use the treadmill, instead. But, I did manage to install the training software on my computer and charged the unit. I took it outside to see if I could get a satellite signal, I put in my user profile, maximum HR, etc. I am sure I will be asking for help, if you don't mind! Thanks! Enjoy your circuit workout!

Laurie - Don't work too hard and hope you have a good day!

Wendy - Good luck on your race! It is getting closer ! Thanks for the well wishes on my Garmin!

Judy - I am with ya on needing the yoga! I was doing so well and then......I just quit it. I wish I could add it in several times a week! Or at least once a week!

Cathy - I will try the Word Document thing! Thanks for the tip! I used to print the posts out and then do it that way. It gets aggravating because I am always posting while at work, and I get side tracked and that is when I am losing the posts. Grrr! I'll be sure and let you know how I like using my Garmin after the first time I use it!

Today I did a 5.25 mile treadmill run. I wanted to do a long run outside, but had to be somewhere early this morning to meet some family members, so I had to grab what time I could! Hopefully, I can get outside tomorrow and play with my new "toy"!

Hope everyone has a great day! AND GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE RACING!

Linda

Jess - I am so sorry about your grandmother. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. It is so, so hard to watch a loved one suffer and decline. Take care of yourself.

Linda

Hi Jess--I am sorry about your grandmother, but glad you feel at peace about it. I'll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts.

:)

Linda--good job squeezing in the TM run even though you wanted to be outside. I can't wait to hear how you like your Garmin.

Hi everyone!!

I'm back from LA :). Actually I got back yesterday, but I was busy and didn't get a chance to check in.

This'll be a quick one, but Christine, just wanted to let you know I got my goodies yesterday :). By the time you read this, you'll probably have picked up your goodie bag at the convention center, so you'll know what I'm talking about, but let's just say my credit card got a workout yesterday LOL.

Spent the morning working an aid station for a TnT run--and had no idea it would be so cold. I didn't dress warmly enough and now I'm paranoid I'm going to be sick for tomorrow's run, or worse, Nike in two weeks! Gah!

I'm going to take some extra vitamin C just to be safe LOL.

Talk to you guys tomorrow after the race!

Jennifer

jess I am sorry about your grandma. We are all here for you if you need to talk.

carole how do you like your 305 garmin? I have the 301 and love it.

I managed to squeeze a 4.5 mile run in today before mykids soccer game. I took it easy this week after that half marathon last saturday. It really fried my legs, definately could tell I should have trained for it, I havent felt like that since my very first half marathon. I only worked out on tuesday and wednesday for about 20minutes since I still felt very fatigued. Today I felt alot better but at the end of the run I could tell my hamstrings where starting to fire up. We went out to our campground and got it ready for the winter. I cant believe its right around the corner. I am not ready for the cold yet!!! although, I did go buy a new running jacket and gloves for the winter runs I am going to run with my buddy marci!

talk with you all later!

{{{HUGS}}} Jess!! I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandma! Family is so important at a time like this. I wish you many many happy memories of a person who is obviously very important to you.

Jennifer - got my goodie bag, and fortunately had DH with me so I didn't want to buy anything, even though he encouraged me to. My credit card got enough of a workout at Ann Taylor Loft over the last few days! I would love to meet you at the race! When you get done, you can meander over to Gordon Birsch - I have the feeling DH and I will be there to see the New England/Miami game. He's shorter with black and white hair, I'm tall with blond hair. We'll be the icky sweaty ones - well, one of them...

It was cool walking around San Jose today. SOOO many people were there to run, and so many different kinds! I love watching everyone walk around with their goodie bags looking at each other and smiling. Such a cool feeling to be a part of that crowd...

hmmm, unless I am missing something somewhere (very possible :+ ) I don't see where you can enter your height in the 305. I was entering my user profile (age, weight, etc) and there I don't see where they ask for your height anywhere?? Does anyone know if I am overlooking it, or is it not there?

Good luck, again, to everyone!

Linda

Had to post!!!! And I'll repost tomorrow but Elaine did it!!!!!! She ran a 3:58:52 marathon in St George!!!! She beat her time last time by over 8 mins!!!....http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_30_125.gif[/img]
