Just a few posts to catch up with...

Laura :: the new house sounds great! Glad you are able to make the move you've been wanting to make. Yes, those BM workouts *do* give you a litte burn, don't they? I like Power Hour. I think it's one you'll like having in your rotation.

Jess :: glad you were able to kick back and enjoy a TRUE rest day. Enjoy Imax2 today and getting the crown fixed. It may sound vain, but I know the feeling - I am looking forward to getting my old (clear!) skin back. I avoid prescription meds, if possible, and lucky for me, the migraines started to disappear on their own. I *have* been pretty stressed lately and my sleep patterns were all messed up this weekend, so it was probably that + the hormones that did it for me. I think if I had a food trigger, I would have them more often. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

~Cathy :)

Good Morning Cathy and all who follow.

Cathy, So do you have any delays due to the snow this morning? Before you know it you'll be in your first recovery week of the X and saying "where did the time go?"! I start Phase 2 recovery today!!!:)

Well, I couldn't sleep. BLECH! I woke up probably about 4 am and that was all she wrote. I'm tired. My eyes are burning but I lay there and lay there and never fell back to sleep. The longer I lay there the more aggravated I get. The more aggravated I get, the harder it's gonna be to sleep sooooo...I finally got up at 5 and figure a nap will be an order later!;)

I got a call to fill in for someone at work today but due to the weather conditions I was told not to worry about it. The other 2 girls will handle it w/o me. That's great cause I really didn't want to work 4 days this week but now I can't utilize the gym this morning. :-( Oh well...it's give and take, right? LOL

I have yoga on tap for day 1 of recovery today. I am also thinking of a short Cathe cardio as well.

I have a lot of personals to catch up on from y'day I think so let me go do that now....

BBS!:+

Okay...personals....:)

Cathy...PlyoX is a great work out but if you don't like jumping around then you probably won't care for it. It kicks serious butt though!}(

Sunny...I am very nervous about getting certified. You make it seem so easy though. It's like you are a natural. I am afraid of failing the test. I am afraid of passing and not getting a job. I am afraid of passing, getting a job yet being clueless as to how to go about setting up a work out for a client. I am afraid girl! Help me!!! LOL

Laura...Well good luck selling your house! Any immediate plans to put it on the market? We've been meaning to put our house up since last summer! OOPS! LOL We are dragging our feet getting it ready though. ACK!

Carole...So how was your muddy run y'day? Did it bring back memories of childhood? ;) Thanks re the pic of Joey. I forgot I had taken that until I was looking through the pics I had.

Marcia...So did you end up doing Legs and Back y'day or is it on tap for today? Have that yoga mat yet? ;)

Shelly...Why is your sister going to Pakistan? My best friend is Pakistani. She was born and lived there until she was 6 years old. She came to america and started going to the school I was in in 2nd grade. That's when I met her. We were friends but not really close until sophomore year in highschool. Ever since then...we've been stuck to one another like glue! LOL How did your trail run go y'day? Any issues after running 2 days in a row now? DH and I want to move to the town just north of us. We'd never stay in the town we are in. We HATE it! ACK! BTW, thanks re my running. I guess I am proud but more so just amazed that I am able to run cause I never thought I could!!!

Gayle...How much snow did you get from the storm? We got a few inches and then it changed to rain. I have no idea what it's like out there right now...there's still SOMETHING on the ground/roads...thankfully I won't have to find out either!;)

Christine...Yes, I bought Itread # 13/30 mins. AWESOME!:+ I had to add a warm up run to it though as she doesn't give you one. I found it odd that she didn't even give you 5 mins?? Good job on the controlled eating at the party. My biggest downfall is eating out anywhere...I just don't do well. I eat too much all of the time! LOL At home I am very good at controlling my portion sizes but when I go out...watch out boy!}( :9 }(

Susan...Nope, never made it out dancing sat night. In fact, we never made it out anywhere except to an early dinner. LOL We lost our motivation once it got dark. That will happen to us in the winter. It's kind of a bummer. :-( I hope you had a nice weekend.

Jess...I have one single migraine trigger and that is lack of caffeine. If I don't get my morning java, watch out! YIKES! x( :-( Good luck with your appointment today for your crown!

Good morning, Cheetahs:

We are digging our way out this morning from another 4 inches of new snow. So that gives us a grand total of about 16-18 inches of snow. Schools are only two hours late, poor DS is hoping they change that to closed like all the other schools, but I doubt it - the storm is over so we are now just trying to get out. I'll take two hours late, though. ;-)

Wendy - Yep, I did L&G yesterday and feelin' it today.

I ended up having to work because we were flooded with snowmobilers at the bar, but that was OK - it was nice to get out of the house.

Today is KenpoX }( }( }( I'm ready again for some major DOMS like last time. I will probably do it tonight when I get home instead of this morning before work. I'm enjoying the little extra time just relaxing and not rushing.

I'll be back.
Marcia.

Good morning ladies! Happy dreary winter day here in the East! LOL We got about 3 inches of snow and sleet last night. Not as much as predicted, and we're a bit dissappointed that there's only a 2 hour delay! LOL.

I'm finally feeling 100%. I got up early, 4:30am, and tried out my body with Rhythmic Step. My favorite of all Cathe's step workouts. My tailbone hurts a bit on some moves, from the snow tubing crash last week, but I muddled past the feeling! Felt great to be moving once again! Then I did 7 sets of 15 push ups.

Marcia-I'm so glad that you're enjoying the X workouts! Do you think you're going to make the purchase? When I loaned them out, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with them, so I hope I didn't 'lead you on' thinking I was definitely going to sell! LOL. Sometimes, you don't know what you've got till it's gone! LOL. Seriously, though. I'm glad you're liking them. I actually, REALLY miss the Yoga workout. Who would have thought, hugh?

OK....I think DS's orthodontist appointment is still on (at least I'm hoping so), and that's at 8:30. So I better get a move on. I'm toying with the idea of throwing in a lighter-than-normal lower body weight workout later today. We'll see. And we're snow tubing with the Boys Scouts after school today (at a ski lift, so I'll be monitored and taken care of if I crash again, lol).

Hi All –

I’m feeling surprisingly wide awake and ready to go for a Monday. I’m going to do Viper to get some decent weight work in, and some decent cardio. I love that one. Might do some elliptical at the gym as well – we’ll see how the day goes.

Laura – I, too, love Power Hour. It’s similar to a body pump class where you work one body part for an entire song. It’s very different. I have it scheduled for Wednesday and I’m looking forward to it!

Cathy – Enjoy week two of the “X”. I assume no snow day this morning to get caught up? Sounds like nasty weather again through most of the States. We’re rainy and miserable here, too…

Wendy – Phase 2 recovery? Two weeks without B&B! YEAH!! Enjoy your yoga! Sorry you couldn’t sleep. That’s never fun. With the iTreads, she usually does give you a five minute warm up, but you’re right on 13, she doesn’t really, although it’s 3 minutes, then a 1 minute lighter sprint – which is what my Spinervals do for a warm up.

Marcia – wow! You’ve got a lot of snow!! Enjoy Kenpo X! I like that one.

Gayle – So glad to hear your 100% again! Good job with RS! I love that one, too. Hope you survive today’s tubing!

Happy Monday (?) to all who follow!

Hi Cheetahs,
Happy Monday!
I am going to be taking a break from posting (and lurking) for the week.

My kids are off school & DH is off work, so we are going to try to do some fun things as a family and get some much-needed work done around the house.

I am also finding that I mis-use computer-time as I use it as too much of a distraction for me to get other things done. And the household is feeling it. I think my kids feel that I am preoccupied at times.

So I need to refocus on getting my non-cyber life in order.;-)

I’ll miss chatting with you wonderful, inspirational ladies.

Barb

Hi Monday Cheetahs :)

I just read the last two days posts. Weekends around here don't allow much forum time. x( x(

Carole- I am glad all is well again with you. How are your achy parts?

Christine- I Love how you used your time to stretch AND color you hair!!!

Shelly- Happy 22 years with your best friend and DH!... 8 miles and B&G leg blast?????

Jes- how did the dentist app't go? DD has her dentist app't today to get set up for her dental implants. Her surgery is March 7. She has been in braces for a long time and they will come off after the implants are in place. And it will all be done right before her 16th birthday!!

Hi Susan- are you the one who likes to clean? I do too. We recently moved into a large home and it takes me 3 half days to clean it in addition to the daily bathroom/ kitchen quick cleans. (I had a cleanning lady for 10 years and my house was never that clean)

Cathy- LOL at your job getting in the way of your workouts. I know I am fortunate to be an at home Mom. But in the years when my kids were little. I could only squeeze in in 30-45" day. DH used to relieve me for walks alone periodically (thankfully)

Laura and Wendy- I loved putting my house up for sale. It made us get rid of clutter.

Gayle- I hope you are doing well with the storm and your healing. Hugs for your DF(Fiance) issues.

hi Elaine and Barb!!

I am going to try to apply some Chi running principles to my TM run, but it is not the same as running on stable ground. We have fresh snow and ice so TM is the *best* choice. I may split it into TM and EXT.

Judy

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

Barb- I just saw your post. ~~Have a pleasant week~~ I understand your time issues and the distraction of the computer.

Good Morning Cheetahs!

A delinquent cheetah here:eek: I been running bare maintenence miles this winter (I'm such a cold weather wimp) and although DH and I do have a new treadmill that is such a nice convenience I'm having a whole lot of trouble getting into the groove of TM running. I get bored very, very easily. Putting a towel over the display helps some, and of course I listen to music, but it just isn't enough. I never realized how much of what I enjoyed about running was just being outside. :7

Anyway, in a (probably vain) hope that spring is right around the corner I've decided to suck it up and start amping the running on the TM to 3 days a week. And I'd love to be able to share my TM boredom and the unhappy feeling that I'm going to slip off the back of the TM (I'm not, we have a 60 inch deck:p , lol) with some ladies who know what I'm talking about.

Today is serious upperbody after the Leg Blast premix off of B&G yesterday, that one is an exercise in cruelty, lol. DH kept hearing "Walking lunges again!?!" eminating in tones of incredulity from the workout room. Today, "The Veinmaker" and UB workout from Aquajock that never fails to leave me with DOMS of a significant magnitude.

Cathy-Between you Marcia and Wendy I'm going to have to start using P90x again just to fit in, lol:D How far are you into the rotation, or are you just using the killer UB workouts and subbing in other things?

Wendy-Sorry you missed so much sleep:-( So, you're already near the end of Phase 2, huh? How are the results so far? More importantly, can you do a pull-up yet:7

Marcia-Enjoy the delay! DH teaches in a very small district with mostly walkers, so they never get delays or days offx( I love Kenpo! And I know what you mean about the DOMS, the first time I did it my back was pretty "burny" the next day}(

Gayle-In keeping tabs on you cheetahs I had seen that you were injured and sick so I'm glad you're feeling like you're incredibly energetic self again:) After the last big snow DH and I went sledding on an incredible hill and by the 7th time up I was practically crying for ski lift, lol. It was a quarter mile up the hill (STEEP!!). Yeah, I counted the steps}( It's a great leg/cardio workout:+

Christine-I also think the whole Terminator DVD is just a moment of pure brilliance! I recently purchased ME/BC and Imax2/C&W on DVD, I'd been surviving on VHS *gasp*, so I've been having a little love affair with the Intensity series:7

Barb-Happy Monday right back at you! Sorry to have passed like two cheetahs in the early morning mist, LOL! I hope everything is well and happy at your house! I plan on writing everything with exclamation points!

Judy-I'd be interested in how Chi and TM mix as anything to make the TM better would be of huge value to me! Sounds like we have the same weather, both upstate NY, so I would say opting for the TM is a smart move.

Have a great Cheetahs, I hope to check back later, but there's all kinds of Cleanmaxing to be done around here.

Mattea:+

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I don't think I have ever eaten a Twinkie in my life!! Good job on the 6 mile yesterday. Have fun with C&B and ARX!

Wendy...sorry about your bit of insomnia. Maybe you can get in a nap today..no muddy run as my sister chose another place and we barely got rained on...:)

Marcia...wow, you have gotten alot of snow. We might get it once a year. Have fun with KenpoX.

Mattea!..nice to see you again. Congrats on the new TM. Have you tried any of the Cardio Coach or iTrain workouts for it?? Those should help with the boredom..:)

Judy...my achy parts are still achy. But this is kind of a recovery week for me so that might help. Enjoy your TM/EXT workout.

Shelly...Happy Anniversary!!! Sounds like your running is going well. How long will your sister be gone? No, the race this Sat is off. I have to let these injuries heal...Your trail run sounds like it was nice. Glad to hear Birdy is improving. Now that is a very sweet card your DH got you...:)

Gayle...hope you are feeling better today. I also hope you and your fiance can get thru these issues...

Christine...sounds like your dinner Sat night went good. What pace does 4.5 mph come to? I didn't run in the rain yesterday after all. Change of plans...:)..Good job with the Viper.

Barb...we will miss you this week. I know how easy it is to just stay here and lurk.

Susan...we are in for alot of rain here. But yesterday seemed better and we saw blue sky!! I am in kind of a decluttering mode in my house. We also need to paint badly...Thank you for your thoughts...:)...not sure if I will get my back looked at. I have been thru this sciatic road before and I know it takes time. This time though I am not bothered with pain during any workout (except the glute when running) so I like that. I know I should do more stretching and icing and I have not...

Laura..I think PowerHour is quite fun. I do it from time to time.

We only ran 6 miles yesterday and not on a trail. My sister didn't want to go far as she will be doing the 10 mile run this Sat. I was a bit upset as the pain in my back moved to my right hip. It is alot better this morning...We got my Mom a better PC so things there are good. That was a huge thorn in my side! I am doing my EXT and some pilates todays. I also have a annual Doctors appt. YUK!...:)

Have a great day...

Good morning ladies,

I started my day early..had my first client at 5:30AM..

today i am definitely running. i can't wait! not sure how far or long all i know is i am running, lol.

wendy- i understand your fears. trust me. i was up all night when i got my first clients. thinking about all kinds of things, will they hate me, will i hurt them, will i give them a good, enjoyable workout. it's like everything else, the fear of the unknown. you are going to be a great trainer. if you ever need any help, advice or anything, just ask. you know where to find me lol.

judy- seems like everyone got snow except me:). enjoy your TM run. i will be joining you at some point.

gayle-so glad you are feeling better.

marcia- with all that snow and only a 2 hr delay, WOW!

carole- so glad your hip is feeling better already. "only" 6 miles...maybe one i will be able to say that, lol. enjoy your day!!

cathy- have fun with tony!

christine- the viper..YIKES. i did that workout once and it kicked my but& up and down, lol.

mattea- hey girl, good to see you post again.

I will check back in later i am off to the gym again:7

Well, I guess it's a good thing I got a 40 min cardio in early this morning (LIC) because I have to go to work now!x( I am not happy about this and will explain when I return....

Hope everyone else's morning is going better then mine!:p

OK….kids are off to school. DS’s ortho appt was still on, and with the delay they didn’t miss anytime from school. Today is Laundry Max and Vaccuum Max. I love laundry day; with my OCD personality, having my laundry done equals a sane, organized life for another 5 days or so! lol

Mattea-I’m happy to say that I don’t share your misery on the TM. I’m not sure why. I’ve just never really gotten to the point of boredom on it. Now, I’m hoping not to JINX myself! LOL I would like to hear (or see) more about AJock’s Vein Maker! LOL

Barb-The same thing happens to me too with the PC. That’s why I post for a few solid days, and then I go MIA for a day or two. And now that DS is back to half days for kindergarten, my alone time is more precious! LOL

Christine-do you use Terminator often? I have to say, that’s one Cathe DVD that has only gotten used ONCE in its lifetime. Should I change that????

Shelly-Happy Anniversary! 22 years! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carole-I really hope the pain starts to get better. I might have missed it, but how long have you been struggling with this???

Wendy-I hope you survived work without incident! I’m wondering what caused the change in your reporting in again today???

Gayle

Good morning everyone!

Cathy – Enjoy C&B and the start of week two! I definitely think holding off on Barry’s until you are through with P90X would be good! I hope your Fluidity is on time for Wed!

Wendy – I like your idea about the one month rotations. I think I may be leaning more that way, too! Sorry you didn’t get enough sleep! Enjoy your yoga and Cathe!

Marcia – Enjoy Kenpo! (and the snow!). We only got rain, rain, rain 

Gail – Glad your tailbone is not “too” bad! Take it easy on it! & sets of 15 pushups! Youch! I have the hardest time with pushups!

Christine – Oooo! The Viper! I love that one! It’s has been ages since I have done it! Enjoy!

Barb – I will sure miss you and will look forward to you popping back in! But I truly understand what you mean!

Mattea – Good to have you back! I love the feeling of being outside, too! But…unfortunately, most of my running this winter has been on the TM. I have to watch TV and also listen to music, or use Cardio Coach or Barry’s Bootcamp treadmill runs. That is the only way I can possibly make myself do it!!

Enjoy your serious upper body!!

Judy – Shoot! I forgot to get that book (Chi Running) this weekend! And I was up by the bookstore. Try to enjoy your TM and EXT run!

Carole – Ugh! I feel for you on your doctor’s appointment! I hate them! Good luck! Sorry about your hip and back! Glad your mom’s computer issue is okay, now.

Sunny – a client at 5:30 a.m.! Wow! That is early to start work! Enjoy your run!

Yesterday I “speed walked” 4.5 miles and did Fluidity Advanced. My leg and hip has really been bothering me again. It has been hurting again for around a week, so I know that it was not running down steep hills too fast! I did run downhill Sunday, but I was very careful. This morning was Barry’s Bootcamp Back and Shoulders and the treadmill run from that one. Then I tacked on Fluidity Seat and Thigh.

Hi to everyone that I may have missed and that checks in later!

Linda

Good morning lovely and fit cheetah runners!!! I had a wonderful trail run yesterday and suffered no setbacks with two consecutive running days. Definitely no running today though:( Just the sheer joy of running has come back to me and it is difficult to abstain....but I will!!! Getting in the B&G leg blast afterwards was a challenge  (But I loved it;-) )

Christine- I've been curious about the spinervals hillacious workout
(love the name) Will that work with a regular stationary exercise cycle?. Viper is a great workout, I would have chosen that one today but I need to rest the legs a little!

Laura- PH is a great endurance workout and I think it's a good one for you to be doing if you want results! You won't regret it....
except when you're doing the endless lunges}(

Cathy- Yeah! Started the day off with the right date;-) Congrats on completing your paperwork marathon!!!! Have you done ARX yet?
I find this to be quite challenging but I feel I work the hip flexors more than my abs.

Wendy- I'm so sorry you got called in to work!!! Especially with the weather like it is! It's like for me getting to stay home on call for low patient census and ending up having to come in at 2am...
not fun! And you couldn't sleep last night either... poor Wendy,
I hope you can get in a good afternoon nap! My sister is going to Pakistan because she and DH work for the State Dept. and this is their hardship assignment.

Marcia- I'm glad you got at least a 2 hr delay this morning! The weather was so beautiful yesterday for my run I was feeling sorry for my eastern cheetahfriends! Snow is such a treat for me but I'm sure you are quite sick of it! Have fun with KenpoX:7

Gayle- Sounds like you've bounced back to your usual amazingly fit self.... 7 sets of 15 pushups   Rhythmic step is Cathe's most innovative step workout IMO... have a great time!

Mattea- Great to hear from ya!!!! Sorry you've been confined to the TM lately! I have to come up with all sorts of changes in pace and elevation to keep from being bored to death. Also, I couldn't make it at all if it weren't in front of the TV! Music isn't enough for me. I have to be looking at something! Today will be an upperbody workout.... I think I'll look up that veinmaker workout!

Judy- Hey, I'm glad you're getting something out of the ChiRunning book. I'm really focusing alot on it with my outdoor runs now but it is much more difficult on the TM!

Carole- My sisters hardship assignment is for one year. I'll miss her! DH is actually talking about visiting! He collects antique weapons and would love to go there to shop.... but I doubt he's really serious. I'm so sorry you've had to cancel your 10 miler!
Are you still planning on training for the October marathon? I guess you'll have to see how your hip injury goes... how frustrating for you x( At least your PC mess got straightened out:) I know the annual MD visit isn't fun for you but take it from me... it's a treat for your doctor and the staff to have a healthy fit patient!!!

SunnyD-- A client at 0530:eek:  You are truly amazing. I hope you get in a wonderful run today!

Well, I've been afflicted with the Wendy syndrome... can't make up my mind what workout to do!!! It'll be some kind of cardio and upperbody work. Later I'll get in a good hour on the EXT:7

Later y'all!

ShellyC

Well school did finally close, but I have to come anyway. DS was pretty excited and DH works tonight so he's home with DS. I'm sure they will have fun in the snow.

Gayle - No, I never got that impression, girl. I was going to ask in a post if anybody wanted to sell their P90X I'd buy it before ordering it, but I don't know if that is "OK" on this forum or not???? Otherwise, could I keep them until I get the set after ordering? If not, no problem, I'll send it back to you as soon as you want it. I soooo appreciate you lending it to me. ;-) :)

Step class is canceled for tonight because of no school, so I will have no problem fitting in KenpoX. My new fav!

I'll be back later.
Marcia.

Shelly - I am so glad you enjoyed your trail run yesterday! That sounded like a great run! That would have been really tough to do that legwork afterwards! Hope you continue to have no setbacks! It is so aggravating when that happens!
