Cathlete
G'morning, cheetahs ~ I can't believe I recognized that someone else put the wrong date on their check-in thread and then I went ahead and typed the same thing --- DOH!!!! *lol*

A few personals from last night to catch up with...

Linda :: I’m glad I’m not alone on the form AND struggling to fit it in. I think it will be easier to do after I finish this X rotation. I’m with you, though – I like it.

Karen :: congrats on the GREAT finish!!! I *know* the wind was brutal up here yesterday – I did an easy 2-mile run/walk and my ears were ringing at the end!! Thanks for sharing your race report.

Jackie :: no, it wasn’t too taxing…I felt good and went to bed early again, so I feel rested today.

Laura :: good luck with the building contract this week & feel better soon!

Heather :: that is terrific about flying first class!!…Glad the cramps were manageable enough that you could get in a workout ~ I’ve seen that one on Collage and was intrigued…Nice new kicks! I use Asics, too (the Nimbus) and also own a ridiculous amount of sneakers.

Christine :: how'd it go with the pups???

My rotation calls for CST & ARX today plus some cardio if I can manage it. Although I wanted to make this a doubles phase, I've decided I'm just gonna TRY for extra cardio *after* I get the weights in. If I don't have enough gas, well, then, I won't do it and won't beat myself up, either. Here's hoping that on Friday the doc will be able to reduce my dosage to what it was before. In the meantime, I'll just hang on & do what I can.

Have a great day, everyone!
Cathy

Good morning cheetahs!!

Today's workout will be BBC legs and Butt plus the non-treadmill cardio option.
Had a great time working out with dh yesterday!

cathy- good game plan. no need to kill yourself trying to fit in everything. do what you can and the rest will follow. hopefully the doc will have better options for you.

wendy- yay!! you will get a chance to meet everyone.

Ladies i will BBL to check in on everyone:)

Good morning, ladies -

We are back from the birthday party and had a good time. They were surprised to see us to say the least. I got a walk in yesterday, but that was it all weekend. Tonight is 'circuit training' }(

Laura - I think it was you that had a circuit training routine??? If so, please post that today if you have time, I'd like to incorporate it with my class tonight. THANKS.:*

I'm still VERY frustrated with my 'no weight loss' and trying to stay movitated, but it sure gets hard when I've tried everything (seriously) and can't come up with a winning combination. BUT, I'm still trying............

Have a great day ladies, I need to go back and read what I've missed over the weekend.

Marcia.

Hi, ladies. I still have to go back and read last night's posts. But I had a quick minute here so I thought I'd check in before heading to the busstop!

I'm feeling really strong and confident. It's been several months with consistent workouts and now that my eating is back on track (yet monitoring it every single meal....meal by meal, lol), it has really kicked in the motivation to keep it going strong! The training schedule calls for a rest day, but I did Yee's Total Body Power Yoga! I SO LOVE THIS ONE and really want Yoga Burn, but I'll wait for that reward.

I'm now in week 10 of our 14 week training schedule. I'm getting very excited about the half next month!

Marcia-I feel your frustration. What kind of advice did you get on the Open Forum when you posted your question? How about alternating days and calories? Or switching up what you would normally eat for each meal? I know that I tend to be a creature of habit and eat the same stuff for breakfast, snacks and lunch.

Cathy-I agree.....do the weights first then add cardio later if you feel up to it. Doubles takes that extra time and energy.

SunnyD-nice that you and DH workout together! Does it ruin your concentration at all? I keep trying to get DFiance to workout with me, and although he keeps saying he eventually WILL, I wonder how it will play with my own concentration!

OK....busstop. BBL

Marcia,

Have you tried calorie staggering/zig-zagging? That helped me lose 18 pounds after having Joey! I had lost my initial weight after pregnancy (the pounds that just seem to FALL off...wish they ALL did that!) but even worse then just coming to a stand still and not losing any more for a while...I STARTED GAINING WEIGHT BACK!!!! I was 7 pounds back UP when I found calorie staggering. It saved me! IT WORKS!!!!!:D

Cathy: I agree...don't push yourself too hard. Get in as much cardio as you can and if you don't have the energy for a run then try making it a shorter, less intense work out so that you atleast have done SOMETHING. I will do that often if the cardio I orignally intended for is just too much for me that day. Good Luck!:)

Sunny: I did Butt and Legs y'day. Great burner!}( I didn't do the cardio though.

Gayle: I am happy to hear that you are feeling so awesome. That really helps leading up to a big race! I know you'll do great! Can't wait to meet you at the RT!:+

So this is it ladies...The X is back on! I am picking up where I left off on day 3 of week 11 with Shoulders and Arms/ARX! I hope I hve the energy/strength for this one!

BBL! :)

Wendy-You are SOOOOOOO Close to finishing up this rotation! WOW! It flew by, didn't it?????

At the busstop, I just found out that my older DS was 'drafted' as first pick for his baseball league. WOW. He's a good, all-around, natural-talent athlete. Whatever sport or activity he tries, he does really well at! I'm so proud of him! Of course, IF IF IF I tell him that, he'll blush and be all proud of himself too! LOL. OK...thanks for letting me be a proud Mama for a moment! But looks like baseball starts this week!

Gayle

Gayle,

Yeay for your DS! I am sure you are UBER proud of him! That's awesome! Have fun going to all of the games!:+

The X flew by over all but phase 3 is kind of dragging. All of the heavy lifting took it's toll and I am ready to be done. I've been doing a little endurance lifting the past few days while I was on a break from the X and it felt so nice to pulling the lighter weights! I just want to finish already! LOL

Good Morning Ladies –

The puppies were adorable, of course, and very, very friendly. We drove home covered in puppy spit. :+ They just absolutely love to be held and licked (when they’re tired – when they’re up and active they want to run around with their brothers and sisters). And they are all just fat happy little guys. We did put a deposit down, but I woke up in the middle of the night thinking, “I’m not ready.” We have a few weeks to really decide. Another litter is due to be born next Tuesday and if they have a blue merle male, which is what I really want, we’ll wait for one of those. If not, we’ll take Moose/Taycin – which ever is available as both are adorable. Taycin is smart as a whip and will require a “job” and he’s actually prettier than Moose. Moose is a big ole love and will be the kind of Aussie who wants nothing more than to lounge around the house with his family. Enough doggies. I’m planning Spinervals Hillacious this morning. No afternoon workout as I have my interview.

Cathy – You know, the X might be contributing to your tiredness. I was more tired than usual doing it. I’m thinking of you. Hope you start feeling more energetic!

Sunny – have fun! Everyone seems to be enjoying the BBC’s! I’m starting to cave here…

Marcia – I gave up. I literally decided that dieting was making me too focused on food. I gave up and just starting eating healthy food when I was hungry. So far it’s been working, but nothing really works for long with me. :+ I know you pain, girlfriend. Have you had a thorough medical check up to determine if there is some other reason?

Gayle – glad things seem to be working out for you! I love hearing that Cheetahs feel strong and confident. Congrats to your DS!!!! How wonderful! Thanks for sharing.

Wendy – Good for you! Getting back into the X!! I’m impressed!! I have every confidence that you will complete it!!

Enjoy your days ladies.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..I have also been chased by the 'not nice" dogs. This time was just funny. That is great you are seeing results form the X. How sweet your friends set up a nice weekend for an early B-Day present. Good job with ARX and your Fluidity workout yesterday. Have fun with CST and if you can't squeeze in the extra cardio don't let it bug you. I hope the Doctor can reduce the dosage. Are you seeing results from the medication?

Sunny...enjoy BBC Legs and Butt. I think the first BBC cardio killed me...I didn't try it in that workout..:)

Marcia...I hope the circuit training class goes well tonight.

Gayle...yes it was funny about the dog yesterday. We clouded up and I think today the forecast is rain. You are doing very well in your training, you should have a great half next month. Great news about your DS and baseball, he must be very good!!

Wendy...good job getting back with the X rotation. Have fun with S&A and ARX! You can always back off doing the heavy reps for the X and just go lighter and do more reps...:)

Christine...ahhhh..puppy spit! They sounds so cute. I think you should wait for the possibility for the blue mearle male if it is really what you want. Enjoy your spinerval workout and good luck with the interview. Let us know how it goes.

Shelly..sounds like BBC is just right for you!

Linda..the trail run went well. Just my calves are a little sore today. That was nice of you helping the kids move. And you got in some great workouts. Good job on the 7 miles in the nice weather.

Karen....awesome 10 mile run for you!!! I can see your training paid off very well. How nice your kids and Joe found you at the finish. You should be so proud of yourself! So you think a full marathon next year?...WOW!

Laura..sorry about the bronchitis! Sounds like things are going along for your house.

Heather...those look like very nice shoes. I try and stay away from my closet...:)..I like that Tracy workout, really gets into the legs. Foam rollers are great for injuries. it is like you own self massage. I have been having some hip/glute issues (piriformis I think) and I use the roller daily. There was also an article in Fitness magazine about the rollers helping with cellulite like a deep muscle massage can. I got mine at Target with a DVD for about $23.

I am planning on BBC Arms and Abs, plus floor legs from something, then maybe my EXT this afternoon.

I just have a bit of calf pain from yesterdays run and I know the roller will help. We also helped at my Moms house clearing some brush and collecting wood. Yes, my upper back is feeling that!

Have a great day...:)

Good morning ladies!

Laura - Sorry you're not feeling well. My mom is suffering with bronchitis right now too. Hopefully things with the building process will get underway soon.

Heather - Hope you're feeling better fighting those cramps. Love your shoes. You have 22 pairs of workout shoes?? Wow!! Great job on the 40 day fast!

Cathe - Glad to hear you're feeling rested today. Think you have the right attitude about your workouts. Go by how you feel.

Sunny - Glad you enjoyed your workout with dh. I enjoy working out with dbf at times except for when he wants to stay at the gym for 2 hours or more. On our walk/runs, I don't mind.

Marcia - Glad you had a nice time at the party. Agree with everyone else on zig zagging the calories. Give your body a little shock. Have you tried BFFM? Love Tom's take on things.

Gayle - Yay on feeling strong and confident. That made me smile really big. Congratulations to DS!! That's awesome. You have a right to be proud.

Wendy - Glad you're feeling better.

Christine - Have a great spin! Good luck with the interview.

I did 10 minutes on the elliptical, an easy 2 mile run, 20 minute iClimb #4 and Yoga for Abs with Rodney Yee.

Have a nice Monday!

Jackie

G'morning Cheetahs! I had a wonderful day y'day. Church was such a blessing, and then the catered meal was wonderful. I don't think I mentioned it, but my older 2 girls are getting baptized next Sunday! (Palm Sunday) We don't sprinkle or christen, being Baptist we only emerse. They met w/ Pastor y'day & I'm so proud of them. (sorry for any offense *talking* religion...)

We had a nice relaxing night last night. Greg & I got the trampoline set up & we all had fun jumping on it. The girls are on spring break so they're home w/ me all week. We're heading to my Mom's tomorrow for a couple days & will do some visiting of relatives. Then on Fri & Sat we're heading to St. Louis to do some sight seeing. My Mom is coming along too.

OK, enough babble from me. I wanted to get up to workout, but we all slept in til 7:30. It was nice! :p Hannah seems all recovered from her bout of strep throat, it seemed once her fever broke Sat morning she was fine. I'll do something later, not sure what workout yet! I'd like to make it to spin class tonight, I need to start doing that once a week. My achilles is still a bit tender, my dh was rubbing it for me on Sat night & found a VERY painful spot. He said it felt like where my calf muscle attaches to the achilles??? All I know is that it about made me cry it hurt so bad. I think I'm giving up on the half in May, I'm actually almost relieved about it. I know if I try to ramp up the mileage I'm only going to end up injured worse. It's not worth it.

Have a wonderful Monday! It's already in the 60's here, as long as the rain stays away it's going to be a gorgeous day!

Hi Jackie! Sounds like you have a good workout planned for today. How was your weekend? Nice that you have a dbf to work out with!

Ooh, ooh, did I mention that I should be getting my P90X at the beginning of April???? My friend that I'm swapping with is moving & once she finds the box she's shipping it to me!! I got it for the price of a high step topper!!! ;-) I'm thinking my dh might do some of it w/ me too. I don't know how much I'm going to enjoy 90 days of Tony, but I guess if I can get some great results like the rest of you it's worth it!! I'm sure I'll be full of questions once I get it!

Karen ~ Wanted to add in my CONGRATS!!! You did so great at your race!!! I'm sure your dh & kids were so proud of you!!! Did you find out any more on the results yet? I'm assuming your IT band probs are all gone??? My IT band is fine now, but my achilles is not. I think my tendons do NOT like me running. :-(

I hope you're still on that post-race *high*!

Christine ~ I love those puppy pics!! I"m sure you'll make the right choice for the right puppy. I think someone was mentioning paws on a puppy last week. Mikey (our dog) was the furriest little fluff ball w/ these HUMUNGOUS paws when he was 5 weeks old (when we got him). Yep, he's now over 100 lbs & still has huge paws!! :) He's been a great dog, the girls call him our German chocolate dog. (he's a German shepherd/ chocolate lab mix)

Anyway, hope you're feeling better this week.

JESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like such a heel for not having sent you the yoga dvd yet but I am going to do it TODAY! I SWEAR! I am off from work and will be heading out in a bit to run errands. I need stamps anyway so there are no excuses!!! Thanks for being so patient. If you were cursing me out behind my back, that's fine too!;) :p :7

LOL- it's no biggie!! I actually forgot about it til you just mentioned it!! ;-) And I don't curse so no worries about that one!! :p I'm sure I'll be coming up w/ questions for you on the *X* once I get started!! You've done great so far & I can't wait to see your big reveal pics!! (if you reveal them, that is!)

Have a good one! :)

Good morning everyone!

Karen – Congratulations! That sounds like a great race! Great job and your time was awesome!

Laura – I hope you get to feeling better soon! It was a smart decision not to race and to listen to your body! Take care of yourself!

Heather – Yes….that is me in the avatar. Thank you very much for saying I look younger! Those shoes are nice! You sound like me with all of your running/workout shoes! I could “never” give up chocolate or cheese! I really wish I could break the chocolate habit! You did good!

Cathy – No sweat on the “wrong date”! Enjoy your CST and ARX. Maybe you should not do “Doubles” until you start feeling better again. I forget ….did you say you did try Retin A and Renova before he put you on this medication?

Sunny – I am glad you and DH had a good workout and time yesterday! Enjoy BBC L&B! I love, love, love that!

Marcia – Good job on the walk! Don’t get frustrated with the scales, though! Just keep going and I am sure you will break through that plateau soon with all of your hard work and efforts! I pretty much live my the “staggering” my days.

Gayle – You are soooo making me want to get the Power Yoga DVD!! Even though I have a lot of yoga DVD’s and I have tried and tried and tried to keep doing yoga regularly….I fail! It is just like the Fluidity…I love it….know it is good for me…..but I end up dropping it.  Congratulations to your DS! That is awesome! I am sure you are very, very proud!

Wendy – You’ll do great finishing the X! I am planning on starting another rotation soon! I know I said that before…..but after this GS rotation….I am gonna do it! I brought my P90X to work today to show a guy that I work with. He brought it up out of the blue the other day and said he was thinking of getting it. I brought it so he can see what all you get with it and how well worth the money it is!

Christine – Awww! The puppies sound sooo sweet! I definitely understand you not feeling ready, though! It is very hard. When you are ready..you will know! Enjoy your spin!

Carole – I am glad the trail run went well! Hopefully your calf soreness will work itself out soon and the foam roller will help! I can definitely relate on the upper back and body feeling it with the clearing! Enjoy your BBC Arms, floorwork and EXT!

Jackie – Great job on the workout!

Jess – That is wonderful that your daughters are going to be baptized next week! That is a very, very, special time! I am sorry about your Achilles! I wish it would get better soon! That is great that you are getting your P90X the first of April! I think you will like it a lot! Maybe I can start doing mine around the time that you start! I was thinking of another week or 2 on my GS’s. Keep us posted!!

Today is a rest day for me! Hi to everyone and hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday! How did Monday get here so fast, anyway?
;-)
