::::: CHEETAHS ::::: Mon., 2/12

Hey all -

I'll be back later with personals (I hope). But a quick check in to say that I woke up with a nasty headache. I think it's weather related - I get sinus headaches with weather changes and we're expecting another storm here. So this morning was spent dozing on the sofa praying that the pills would work. They are pretty much, so now it's time to get on with my day. My legs are pretty fried, so I think I'll just do some upper body work at the gym this afternoon. Time to take the doggies out for a walk.

barb- are you a fan of snow? where did you get your weighted gloves?

linda- looks like you are lovin' the bootcamp workouts!!

christine- i hope you sinus headached goes away soon. i had a monster headache yesterday. seemed like it lasted all dayx(

carole- are you also doing a p90x rotation?

thomasina- i would love to vist lake tahoe one of these days:)

alrighty ladies well duty calls...hiho,hiho it's off to work i go:7

HEY....P90X Cheetahs. Is there a Yoga workout out there that would compare to the Yoga X? I have to admit I really like that workout and miss it terribly! I'd like to see if there's anything that is equal to it??

Gayle

Workout is done and I am starting to feel positively human again:+ Had a good go with LIC step premix and StepBlast challenge, finished up with 45 minutes of yoga. I'll weigh myself today, meant to do it before I had my post workout snack but I was HUNGRY!}(

Laura, you are so right, it is a constant battle, I lost 50 pounds more than 10 years ago and most of the time it still feels like it's nipping at my heels.

Carole, that's great that you have enough computer savvy to fix your Mom up. What does it mean to 'shoot a new PC'? (my savvy is pretty limited:)) Sorry about your hamstring and glute, a real pain in the butt!! Hope it feels better soon!

Barb, I love LIC and the stellar premixes, the workouts still feel very fresh.

Gayle, oohhh, your poor boy, gosh that must have hurt. Was there a full moon this weekend? Maybe that could explain some of the excessive wranginess of our kids :)

Linda, Monday seemed to come extra quick this week! Good luck with your pile of paper.

Christine, glad to hear your nasty headache has somewhat abated. My fingers are crossed that your walk with the doggies will get rid of it altogether!

I'm off today but lots of running around to do, it's nice and sunny here today. I'm loving that the days are getting longer and we're actually eating dinner before dark. Spring can't be too far off (she said hopefully;-))

Enjoy your Monday Cheetahs!!

Take Care
Laurie

gayle- wow! thats alot of wt to lose. did you mostly do cathe to lose it or something else?

laurie- you lost alot too. You all are inspirations, wow!!

Talk to everyone later!

Sunny--I got my gloves from the Power-Systems catalog. They are adjustable, so you can remove or add weights up to 2# per hand. I love snow in general, like how it looks and don't mind running in it unless it's icy underneath.

Lori--great workout. Glad you are feeling energized.

Christine -- hope the medicine kicks in and you feel better soon!

-Barb:)

Laura-I lost all of that weight after joining Weight Watchers and working out to Cathe. It was funny, because I started on WW and 2-3 weeks later found Cathe. I instantly became addicted to the workouts so that each week that I went to a WW meeting, I felt like it was a Cathe meeting! LOL.

We're battening down the hatches for the storm...it's supposed to start tomorrow, and we're only supposed to get 4-8 inches, but we're excited anyway! We're all 3 hoping for no school on Wednesday! lol

Gayle

Good morning cheetahs!

My kids are all off from school today because of Lincoln's b-day. It is kind of nice to not have to be anywhere this morning or to get anybody ready.

I had a great workout yesterday. I burned about 600 calories doing the elliptical for 55 minutes and then ME upper body. Today is a rest day. I am ready for it too. I always eat perfectly or my rest days. I think I probably gained a few lbs over the weekend. So, I will try to get those off this week. A never ending ridiculous battle:)

I would prefer to have the GTG in the summer when the kids are out of school. I think they get out around the 19th of June. I say we go to San Diego or somewhere beachy. I will go anywhere you guys go though:)

Cathy, thank you again for being the organized cheetah. I say we elect you president of the cheetah check-in. I love the b-day thing you set up. I hope you get your run in today.

Sunnydelite, I agree with you on the food thing. I could never even go through a week without having a treat day.

Marcia, enjoy your rest day and hopefully your meeting won't be too dreadful.

Judy, I hope your hip starts to feel better soon.

Gayle, great job on the treadmill. I cannot believe you ran 18 miles on that before. That is great you lost all of that weight.

Laurie, I am sorry about the items that were broken. You have a great attitude about it. I struggle with that around here too. Sometimes my kids run around here like it is a park, but I have to remember they are just kids and I have to realize that things are things, but my girls are just a bundle of endless beautiful energy. I have been lucky though as far as them breaking things.

Laura, Yes, I have always been pretty slim, BUT, I work my butt off to stay that way. If I did not workout, I would defintiley be about 10lbs or so heavier. I have always struggled with food, to the point sometimes I think I need therapy for it. I started out as a gymnast at the age of 10 and did that for 8 years and that kept me pretty fit. Sometimes, I get disgusted with myself for focusing on the weight and workouts SO much. But, I don't think that will change anytime soon. How are you doing with your new rotation? Are you enjoying your full body workouts?

Carole, I hope your glute and hamstring feel better. I just hate this whole injury thing. I never had and injury ever until this past year and it totally sucks!! Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest:) Thank goodness we have the good ole elliptical to still get a good workout. Sorry about all the trouble with your moms pc. I have when computer stuff goes bad. Enjoy your masssage and hopefully that will fix that hamstring.

Barb, great workout for you today. I really like LIC. It is kind to my back. You mentioned stiffening up. I find also that if I do a little walk or even 20 minutes on the elliptical in the afternoon or evening it really keeps my back loose. I have found that I cannot do as much sitting in the evening watching tv. I guess this is all part of getting older, UGH!

Jess, don't cha just love the way the jeans fit after tummy problems}(

What workout are you going to do today? So, your girls had school today? Mine are all home with me for Lincolns b-day. BTW, you bathroom looks awesome. I just love home improvement projects.

Linda, that was one awesome workout you did this morning. No wonder you are so lean. I will have to check out Barry's BC.

Christine, sounds like you had a great time at Camelot. I so miss doing theater stuff. The last show we saw was Barney at the Oakland coliseum(LOL)! We did Aida in San Francisco a couple of years ago though. They have some good shows at Villa Montavlo too. Sorry about the nasty headache you have. Work that upper body good today}(

Laurie, great job on your workout. You are a star for doing yoga too.

WOW! it seems like this just took forever. Doing the personals definitley clears my head though. Have a great day fit ladies.

No bad eating today, okay?

Susan

Hello Cheetahs,

I have had a death in my family. My wonderful Brother In Law died unexpectedly and I just haven't been checking in.

When I get back to a routine I might have to find a "slower" check in because I just can't keep up with you gals. :) That's ok. Keep on running!

See you on the boards.

Colleen

Hey Ladies.

I'm back for personals while my lunch digests. :)

Cathy...OMG, a WHITE speedo!?!? EEEWWWWWWWWWW! LOL

Sunny...Enjoy S&A! I love that work out too!

Marcia...Do what you can today. Make it work for you.

Judy...How did it go getting DD's braces off?

Gayle...So how'd you like the magic bullet? My longest run has only been done on a TM and it's almost 6 miles. I have been taking my time adding the mileage on. The winter and now the X has slowed me down. Once the X is done and it warms up a bit so I can get outside again I hope to up my mileage a bit.

Laurie...Sorry about the shelf. Kids...they are nuttin' but trouble, ey?! LOL ;) Enjoy your yoga session!

Laura...Have you decided to add on an extra work out besides your class tonight?

Carole...Sorry you had such a bummer run and rest of the day y'day. Today is monday though and I know how you love them so hopefully things are lookin' up for ya today! :)

Barb...I also do not get paid if I don't work but my paycheck does not pay the bills...my paycheck couldn't pay for much of anything! ROTFLMAO!:7

Jess...Your picturetrail link is not in your post. Put it back so we can see the project!!!:+

Christine...Glad your headache went away. Waking up with a pounding head is the worst. It puts such on damper on the entire day.

Susan...Hope you have fun with your girls today since they are home!

Okay, off to do CS&T/ARX now...BBL!

:D

Colleen,
(((HUGS)))) I am SO sorry for your loss. Please check in with us now a then. We love hearing from you. Take care and you will be in my thoughts:)

Susan

Colleen-I, too, am sorry for your loss! Take care of yourself!

Wendy-the Magic Bullet was cool! The kids and I each had our own personalized milkshakes this morning! LOL. Older DS likes vanilaa ice cream, peanut butter, malt and vanilla extract! YUMMY!

Gayle

(((((((((Colleen))))))))) I am so sorry for your family's loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Please don't stop checking in here, my trashed ankles have slowed me down but I'd miss these fabulous Cheetahs too much to stop checking in.:) I figure 'once a Cheetah, always a Cheetah'.

Take Care
Laurie

Colleen--I'm so sorry for your loss -- and that it was unexpected, too, must make it even worse. Don't stop checking in, though I understand feeling like it's all too much. Sometimes when you least want to check in, it helps the most.

Just do what you can and what makes you feel better.

(((((((hugs)))))))))

Barb
:)

Susan--sounds like a great workout y'day. And you are being so good about listening to your body about injuries, but keeping yourself in there exercising. Thanks for sharing the stiffening up problem. It's really something I never had before mid-30s and now that I'm 43...I seem to be more and more the candidate for a Tylenol Arthritis commercial with each passing day....

My kids are hoping for a snow day Wednesday, like Gayle. Enjoy your day off with kiddos today. Very impressive that you were a gymnast as a kid! I don't think anyone, especially females, is totally "normal" about food, diet, etc.

-Barb
:)

Colleen- I am sorry for your loss; please visit any time; it is not important if you can not address everyone individually.

Gayle- I have only run 7 miles as my longest TM run; but my longest run ever is only 8 miles any way. I am impressed with 18 miles anywhere, but especially on a TM!

Barb- I am stopping at Borders on my way out to get that book!

Carole- Shoot! I am sorry about your painful run yesterday x( x(

Judy "Likes2bfit"

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

CS&T and PH abs are done! I wasn't into ARX today. :p My upper body is quiverin' right now! I upped some weight as well as some reps and OMG the pain...good pain...but omg!!! LOL }( }( }(

Time for a shower now. Heading up to mom's in a couple of hours for a visit....

I hope to be back later though!:)

Thanks Cheetahs for your kind words.

My Brother In Law was the kindest, most wonderful man and he was so good to my sister.

I'll be travelling to Seattle. I haven't run for a few weeks and I know running will help me mentally and physically. The weather there is so much more civilized than Minneapolis.

Colleen

Colleen--Sometimes it seems like the sweeter people die sooner?

Your sister must be feeling very low.

I hope the travel goes well..enjoy the parts of the trip that can be enjoyable. Even if you don't feel up to running, I think walking is good, too.
It always makes me feel better to get out and do something, even shovelling...

Barb:)
