Good morning, cheetahs~

I feel well-rested this morning and realized yesterday how much I've missed outdoor running! My rotation says to run again today, but it depends on what time I get home and how cold it is. If I'd be relegated to the TM, I might k'box instead.

I'm off to go catch up with posts from last night.

Anyone who hasn't plugged in their birth date into my BirthdayAlarm calendar, please do so!

(I'm compiling a list of cheetah b-days and will PM it to everyone who's on the list.)

Have a GREAT Monday, ladies! Be back soon w/ personals.

Cathy :)

Edited to fix typos!

Jess :: hope today finds you feeling better. :)

Barb :: those Speedos are truly the plague of European beaches/pool halls…I’ll never forget the guy I saw last summer in a Budapest bathhouse sporting a WHITE Speedo. Need I say more? God bless good ol’ American trunks! *lol*

Elaine :: hope the PF cooperates and you enjoy a nice long run today with DH…Yeah, I really think overcoming some of the darker thoughts associated with grief requires a very strong mind-over-matter approach. Did you ever link up with a grief counselor or group?

Thomasina – OK on the shirt…just wanted to make SURE everyone knew what the cost would be. We still need 1 more person to express interest. Thanks for the tip on Vegas. When is San Diego? *lol* about the Skinny Cow incident – those suckers are gooood!!

Linda :: awesome pics! I wasn't sure which one was you, but you both looked great!

Christine :: glad you enjoyed yourselves yesterday! I've never seen Camelot...The last show I saw was Avenue Q (for the second time) on Broadway last spring. Great show! Have you taken DD to see Wicked?…Thanks—the sunflowers are a lot like the first avatar I had ~ the Colorado pic was starting to bum me out because I’m not sure I can get in another ski trip this season!

Wendy :: yeah, a little indulgence now and then doesn’t hurt…and personally, I think it’s healthy! A life of 100% clean eating all the time would be misery for me…Have a great workout with CS&T/ARX today…Soon I’ll know what all those acronyms stand for - *lol*

Re: a cheetah GTG…I am really up for anywhere and the more I think about it, I'd have to say I am with Christine in that I would prefer a summer meetup. My sister is getting married on a cruise in November and I may be having family come in from overseas around T-giving, so this fall/winter could be tougher for me to pull it off. Anyone else have suggestions/preferences?

Cathy :)

Good morning,

cathe- i love your new avatar- it's so sunny, lol. i am with you cannot eat clean all the time. would feel like i am missing out.

today's workout for me is shoulders and arms. i love that workout because i feel so strong afterwards.

as far as a cheetah get together- for me it would have to be in the summer because of ds in school.

have an awesome day ladies!

Good Morning Gals.

I don't really have a preference for season when it comes to the GTG. My biggest issue will be someone to watch DS. If DH doesn't work, he doesn't get paid so I can't ask him to take time off to stay with DS.

I'll be back later!:)

Good morning, Girls:

WOW, Monday already........

I was pretty busy at work yesterday, Sunday is a popular time around here to sit in a bar with your friends. :7

I have a board meeting tonight after work, so no time for a workout :-( . But, if I do feel energetic after work I'll do Ab RipperX since it's short. I'll switch my rotation around and have my rest day today instead.

Busy day at work, I'm afraid, I better get moving and get in there early to get a jump on things.

Take care everyone and I hope to return later.
Marcia.

Hi Cheetahs

I have to be brief here. Sitting aggravates my hip dang it all!

Barb- thank you for the book tip. I may check it out.

I am not sure about a get together, my family is fairly unpredictable...

Today will be EXT for 60" or a 'cardio coach' and long stretch . Then I take DD to get her lower braces off. She is so excited!

Happy Monday to everyone!

Good morning, ladies!

Got my long run of 8 miles in this morning on the TM. The weather and a short schedule today forced me on the TM...but at least the miles are logged. I kept changing the incline and the speed, so I'm very happy.

Protein shakes....did I read somebody uses the Magic Bullet? I borrowed my neighbor's and will be making one this morning in that.

Judy....my upper body is SORE! I haven't dad DOMS up top like this in a while! LOVE that PP/SS upper body workout!

OK....be back after the bus with more!

Gayle

wendy- i know it's hard to plan something with little ones.

judy- i hope your hip heals quickly.

gayle-great run already!!

marcia- have fun with abripperX!

Judy-how many Cardio Coach workouts do you have? I've been thinking of getting one for the TM, in case I have to do more long runs on it.

That makes me think of a ???? for you fine runners. What's the longest distance you've done on a TM??? I ran my 18 mile long run when I was training for Disney. I wasn't able to get a sitter that Sunday for my kids at the early hour that my team usually met (which was 6am). And I didn't want to miss the run, so I put in over 2 hours on the TM and ran all 18 on it. I think I watched Harry Potter or something and by mile 14 I actually felt like I was on a broomstick with Harry playing Quidditch,...swaying, swinging! LOL

Gayle

Hi Ladies:) I'm trying to get going but am dragging my butt. A friend of mine visited yesterday and we shared some red wine before and with dinner, no ridiculous amount but man, I feel hungover todayx( I'm sure a coffee, a banana and a good workout will bring me around:) Yesterday I did CircuitMax then MM u/b and my arms are feeling pumped! Today will be some stepping and some yoga, haven't given this body a good stretch in too long.

Cathy, I'm interested in a tee-shirt please:) Don't know if there's much running in my future but last summer's training and half made me a Cheetah in spirit:) Hope you can get an outdoor run today.

Sunny, I love both of the quotes you have, so true! I'm with you on working shoulders and arms, working upper body is my favourite! enjoy your workout:)

Marcia, sounds like a full day for you. Hope your board meeting is quick and productive, I used to attend board meetings for a Community College and boy, could they drag on, and on, and......:)

Judy, sorry about you hip, hope it feels better soon. That is exciting about your daughter, my 16 y.o. is done with her braces and looks gorgeous. My 12 y.o. has a full metal mouth and I'm amazed at how her teeth are constantly changing.

Gayle, great job on you run! I've never tried the PP/SS u/b, think I'll check it out this week.

The kids got pretty wrangey here yesterday and knocked an oak shelf off of the wall, broke, among other things, 2 big glass vases, an antique bowl and left 2 huge gouges in the wall. I know it's only 'things' but I'm pretty cut up about it, I have to keep reminding myself that at this point in their lives they are not so much 'careless' as 'carefree'. Teensx( ! Thank God they are cute when they sleep:+

Take Care
Laurie

good morning,

I have class tonight . I was debating over doing something extra this morning or not.

susan-I was looking at your picturetrail and you are skinny girl. not an ounce of fat on you! Have you always been so slim?

wow, here I am whining about needing to lose weight and I looked at a few of your picturetrail ladies and a few of you have really changed your life by losing wt. jess, I think it was karens also that I couldnt believe your transformations. You guys really are a true inspiration. I dont know how you did it, I struggle just with 8-10pds and you guys lost alot more than that and have kept it off. I seem to have a hard time keeping those 8-10pds off, its a constant battle. do either of you have trouble maintaining what you lost? pat yourselves on the back!! great job!

talk with everyone later!

G'morning Cheetahs! I think I'm back to myself today!! I haven't decided what workout to tackle yet, I figured I'd give my body a little extra rest so I'll be ready to get back to it! I haven't had 3 rest days in a LONG time! I know I needed it though. I did do some pilates & foam roller last night at least!

My jeans feel loose this morning though, so I know the stomach flu was good for something!

Well, I have to drive the girls to school this morning. Hannah & Greg finished her SpongeBob Valentine box & it looks soooo great. Yep, I took some pics. She's so excited, she thinks she'll win first prize (and she should!). They're getting excited about Valentine's Day on Wed. Greg & I decided that the new bathroom was our Vday present which is perfect for me!

I'll be back later, gotta run!

Laura-sometimes those last 'few' pounds are the hardest and most stubborn. I'm in the same boat as you, with 10-15 to lose to get back to my goal weight. I lost almost 50 lbs, but have slacked over the last year or so, hence the 10-15. MY FAULT, completely. Find what works for you; try different things; experiment. Stick to it!

Jess-glad you're feeling better today. I checked out the bathroom pics and it looks great! I love house projects. My current projects are the boys' rooms. We've been planning to paint and stuff, but we keep pushing it back. But IT'S TIME! Will you be sharing the pics of the SpongeBob VDay box???

Laurie-It must have been a weekend for KIDS! LOL. After both my boys were at sleep overs Sat night, yesterday was horrible. They were in older DS's room shooting basketball (the Nerf kind that goes over your closet door), and younger DS annoyed older DS, so older DS took it upon himself to ELBOW his bro's face! Poor kick took it directly to the eye and woke up this morning swollen and black and blue! ACK! I've never had either of them physically assault each other besides a few biting incidents way back. I was beside myself! ANYWAY...KIDS!

OK...off to town to run some quick errands. Dropping taxes off to get them done, then hitting the bank to open a new savings account, then grocery store for some fruit for protein shakes, and then the library to stock up on books for our snow storm that's coming! BBL

Gayle

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...that is a cool B-Day site and I joined too!! As far as a GTG. Vegas does sound fun but so does summer. I will be busy June 16th and 17th. (30 yr HS reunion). And DH turns 50 July 24th so I should be busy that day also...:)

Sunny...enjoy Shoulders & Arms.

Marcia...let us know how ARX goes if you get to squeeze it in...

Judy...sorry about the hip. Hope the EXT workout goes well..

Gayle...good job on the 8 miles. I use a Magic Bullet...love it! Can't answer your question well as I have only run twice on a TM. Once I broke it and the other was just testing an injury...:)

Laurie...wine does that to me also. I bet you will feel alot better after the coffee and workout!

Laura...I have the same battle with 10 lbs or so myself. Gets harder as you age...

Yesterday was a long day. I only ran 5 miles as my right hamstring/glute started to hurt and only got worse...:(...Then my Mom's Emachine PC died so my sister and I ran around looking for another inexpensive PC for her. Got one at Circuit City and then went home to Mom's to hook it up. My 1st experience with the Vista OS...OMG...can you actually shoot a new PC!!!!???? Anyway..I need to get her an AOL 9 version CD as her version 8 won't work on the new Vista!!

So hoping to do P90X C&B, abs and an EXT workout if I can. I get a massage at 9 this morning so hoping it'll get these kinks out...

I will go back and read yesterdays posts to catch up...:)

Hi Cheetahs,
It's lightly snowing here, more forecasted for Tuesday and we shall see if that comes true.

I did LIC--step & lower body only today-- using really light weighted gloves, just to get more a stretch in the moves for my torso. I have a really long torso, so the weighted gloves really seem to help me feel loosened up. I hope to do a walk on the TM or outdoors later just to keep my body from stiffening up.

I will bow out of the GTG discussion since I don't know my schedule and don't want to give input when I am uncertain if I can attend. Sounds like a few Cheetahs can be a "go" on the Vegas idea.

Cathy—glad you feel well-rested. We are supposed to get more snow – big snow here on Tuesday – how about you? I am cracking up about the white speedos. That is a scary vision.

Judy—sorry about your hip. I know how painful it is to sit and be in pain. If it interests you, check out that book, it’s very user-friendly and I found some of the stretches for areas connected to the hip worthwhile.

Sunny – have a great day and good shoulders & arms workout!

Wendy—thanks for posting your t-shirt pic and I love your new avatar! My job is like your DH’s: no workie, no paycheckie.

Marcia—good luck with your busy day and (ugh) board meeting.

Gayle – fantastic job on 8 miles on the TM. I max out at 6 miles on the TM and that kills me. I cannot believe you did 18 miles. That is awesome.

Laurie—great attitude about your teens. That’s the way to strive – to just roll with it. Have a good step wo today and stretching is something on my list, too!

Laura—have a good class tonight. You are right that Sister Cheetahs Susan, Jess & Karen and others are very inspiring. It’s hard to figure out how to juggle eating & exercise to get the results you want.

Linda--beautiful pictures of you and your family. Maddie is too cute. Thanks for posting those. Last night I got a swimming report card: I need to work on breathing on both sides, not just one side with my freestyle. The DS-10 "I just would not want you to be unbalanced and get stronger just on one side. Just keep working at it. " They said good job on the endurance and not breathing every stroke, but that's about it for the good comments: I have a long way to go on technique......Very sweet. :D

Hi to everyone checking in later. I hope the day is a good one for all.

-Barb
:) :) :)

Some more...

Barb...wow..cold run for you yesterday. Good job getting out there. So what kind of workout did your DS write for you?...:)...It would be fun to meet up for Clam beach next year...yes, guacamole is a huge weakness for me. But one day wasn't so bad.

Karen...glad you are feeling better.

Gayle..you can find flax seed in a health food store. I use ground in my smoothies and keep it refrigerated.

Shelly...sounds like you are enjoying your EXT. That is sweet you are giving the old one to a friend...:)...yes, Humboldt should be fun!

Christine...I agree about Sat...bad eating day! Sounds like a good run yesterday with the doggies...:)

Wendy...your cheetah shirt pic is cute. You look like a serious runner..:)

Susan...my back flares up from time to time, but the pain seems to stay in the same place. I just avoid yoga as the upward dogs irritate it. I am hoping after the massage a few things will feel better.

Elaine...Eat To Live is good reading. I hope you like it...That is great to hear the PF is better!

Tomasina...I have done Clam beach a few times. It is fun crossing the river, unless its real deep...then it can be scary, but there are people to help you cross if the water is high.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning! My goodness, it is Monday already, and I am sooo tired and do not want to be at work right now! :-(

Laurie - Sorry about the shelf and the glassware! Good workout yesterday! Enjoy your step and yoga!

Christine - Thanks for the compliment and advice on running with Maddie! Seems like this week she has only wanted to do the opposite of what she is supposed to do..but I guess they will go through spells. Your day with DD sounds great! Glad you enjoyed it!

Gayle – My longest run on a treadmill was 8 miles. My hats off to you on the 18!!! My goodness! I have never run 18 miles, period , let alone on the treadmill!

Sunny – Good job on S&A! That was one of my favorite workouts to do of P90X! I loved how it made my upper body feel!

Cathy – I like your new avatar! Thanks for the compliment. I am the one in the pink shirt and striped purplish shirt. The other lady is a very good friend of mine. She is another “workout fanatic”!

Marcia – Try not to work too hard today! It is very hard to believe it is Monday !!

Judy – Enjoy your cardio! That is exciting that she is getting her braces off! I remember when my oldest daughter got hers off she was so excited and stared in the mirror for a week ;)

Susan – Thanks for the compliment!!

Jess – The bathroom would be a good present to each other! It looks great  I’ll bet the Valentine’s SpongeBob box is adorable!

Carole – Sorry you had such a rough day yesterday! Good job on 5 miles, though! So…..do you recommend getting Vista? I have heard there are some kinks as of yet. What do you think?

Barb – LOL – I would hate to see my report card on swimming! Good job on LIC! Thanks for the compliment! The people that were in the pictures with DH and I are good friends and customers. We went at a business conference, and we are very lucky that some of our very good friends are also customers, so we get to go a lot of places together! Maddie is rotten to the core lately ;) But she is a sweetie!

This morning I did Barry’s BC Legs and Bt and ran 6 miles on the TM. (just a steady state run, instead of one of Barry’s)

Well, better get busy and see what is lying beneath this big pile of expenses people have piled on my desk and check out what I have awaiting me for the day  Be Back later.

Hi to anyone I may have missed and that will be checking in later!

Linda

Carole- I must have been typing as you posted! Sorry about the right ham/glute pain y'day. That is a bummer. And what a hassle with your mom's computer. It's amazing how much time stuff like that can vacuum up in a day. Enjoy that massage! I hope it helps.

Jess- I posted last night that your home projects all turned out looking great, as does your hair. :) Glad you are feeling better.

Karen-- how are you feeling?

-Barb

:)

Linda-great job on your run! Good luck with that pile on your desk.

Tomasina--thanks for the fashion warning about Cozumel. Great to see you posting regularly. I think when I started posting last year on the Cheetah forum it was around the time you took a break, so it's great to get to "know" you!
