*:CHEETAHS:*Drawing a blank this Sunday

So funny that you mention that Laura b/c my mom's SO drinks the 2 buck chuck daily! He loves it for a day to day wine. I've tried and I like it but we don't have a Trader Joe's close by. I suppose I could give him the money and have him pick some up for me when he goes though.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I was happy about the iPod pkg too. I tried the armband yesterday and it worked well. I probably won't use it anytime today as it will be raining. Thanks for the CLX explanation, I did check it out but will hold off for STS. I think it is great BBW has so many great scents. I have never tried and of VS's. Good workout yesterday. Enjoy 4DS CST and cardio.

Wendi...sorry you didn't get NYE off, I am working myself. But I do love mondays off...:)...I think we have cold temps for awhile. But the rain today will warms things a bit. Moonlight Path just seems to be the "feel good" scent to me. I have tried Coconut Lime Verbena too. Although I like the vanilla flavor I have never been partial to any kind of vanilla scent. Good thing we have choices! Have a great run today!!!

Laura..I have never tried a camelback. I do have a sports belt that I use for any distance longer than 12-15 miles but any other time if I need hydration I just carry a bottle with a hand strap. I love the Amphipod. I also use Accelerade powder for my sports drink (but there are many kinds). The only speed drills I do are intervals. I sprint for 60 seconds and recover jogging for about 2 min 50 seconds and repeat. You might check out runnersworld.com for advice about the recovery for the longer sprints.

Wendy...good job with the 6 miles yesterday. I did a kickmax/MM lower body mish mosh instead of KPC/L&G.

Jackie..Glad the Tofurky turned out for you! Those Wii's do sound fun. How are you feeling today?

Christine...Thanks for the Lucky jeans site. Those Uggs are very cute, look similar to Karen's but her's are beige. We did brave the stores as DH really needed some nice clothes for church. And since my shuffle bit the dust I felt it was time for an upgrade...:)...LOL about teasing the animals at the ZOO!! Hope you have fun there. I ate much better yesterday, we just have too much sweet stuff in this house. Good job getting the tree down. I had some wine last night too. As I am more of a sweet wine fan (which drives my LA friend nuts!!) I found another one I like, Moscato.

Dallas...Glad to hear you hip felt good during your lower body workout. it is much better to be patient as hard as it is. Sorry about DS5 not being able to play outside for awhile, until Thursday anyway. yes, I do shop the day after X-mas. DH and I have done it a few times and ended up getting some good deals.

Linda...I am thinking I might need some Moonlight Path Body Butter as I am getting low in that and love it!! I skipped KPC/L&G and decided on a kickmax, MM lower body mish mosh. Hope your back feels better soon. Wow, sorry about your flight being cancelled. So you will be going today? Have a great time.

Gloria...glad you and DH had a good X-mas.

Today I am running 17-18 miles, most likely in the rain. Both my sister and running buddy got mp3 players so now we all have them. Funny as I was teasing my friend last night about no more talking when we run as we will all be listening to music and not male bashing!!...

Have a great day...:)

Howdy there you chatty ladies:D!

Well, I had me a *FAB* 4.5 miler and I was able to hold to a 9:00 pace which makes me hap-py! Did I run a bit harder than I should have? Um, yeah, but boy did it feel gooooooooooooooooooood:D! It was also a welcome change to run in a tank top:eek:! Dec 28 and we in the NE are gonna hit 60* today...wacky.

Gotta get back to work! Hasta luego!

Getting ready to leave...I am sorry I don't have time for personals....but I have to say:

Karen - I am sooo sorry about your mother, Sweetie. You and your family are still in my prayers. ((Hugs))

I hope everyone has a great week and I'll miss ya!

Linda

Oh, Karen—you have been in our thoughts. So very sorry you had to let her go. May you find some comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering.

Good Morning Cheetah Loverlies!

{{{{{KAREN}}}}} Oh sweetie! You and your family are in my prayers.

Wendi – Yea!! You got in a run! I know what you mean about getting back to normal. It feels good. We had some chardonnay. :p

Laura – welcome back! Jimmy has done short runs with me since he was about 10 months. He does longer runs now that he’s older and his bones are set. He’s an Australian Shepherd so he has a lot of energy. I took him for a steep 11 mile hike and was wiped, but he was ready for more. But he does have a limit of about 8 miles on runs. If I’m going longer, I’ll drop him back off at the house and continue. As long as you have a medium sized breed – 40 pounds or above – she should be able to run. Like us, start them with a run of a mile, then build from there. I know a lot of the ladies here have a water bottle that straps to the hand. I just carry a water bottle.

Cathy – Oh good! Can you believe we took the tree down already? I love the holidays, but I’m ready to move on. Today is the San Fran Zoo with DD16 (!) and Dad. That will be fun. DH is electing to stay back and watch football, which is good as he’d drive us crazy at the zoo!! Hope you get out on the slopes!!!

Wendy – I prefer a nice Chardonnay (La Crema and Beringer’s Napa Valley are my fav’s that are under $20.00), although a good New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is also good. Have fun at the gym!! Happy to indulge with you any time! Not a fan of 2 buck chuck, but there are some reasonably priced wines that are good. One of the top ten Zinfandels in the world is under $20.00 (Seghesio 2007).

Judy – enjoy Mass!

Carole – I think we may skip the rain, but it is sure overcast here!! Have fun on your run! Bummer! No good male bashing?! What fun is that? That’s funny, actually. We have too much sweet stuff, too – although I did a good job at reducing that number yesterday. :p I think when it comes to wine that you should be able to drink what you like. Otherwise, what’s the point.

Today is a run with Jimmy, then a trip to the zoo with the birthday girl, and dinner out. Looks as if it might rain, so rain coats are a must! :p That also means that the zoo will be quiet. I’m happy about that. Have a great day all!

Carole—I understand holding off on CLX. I paid no mind, thinking it wouldn't be of any interest to me whatsoever. Had no idea Chalene was the Turbo Jam instructor and couldn't have picked her out of a police lineup if I'd tried. It was these darn evil threads! *lol* I do feel that STS will likely blow everything else out of the water, but I am going to give this a shot, too. The time factor is what holds such strong appeal for me at the moment…I had a waterproof housing for my older Nano; I hope it’s compatible with this one. Have a great long run today!! *lol* about music replacing the male bashing.

Linda—safe travels & have a great time!

Wendi—I know—running in a tank top when a week ago we were having positively frigorific temps is unbelievable! ^^^ 5’s on a great run!

Wendy- You can find some decent inexpensive wines. DH has a bit of a wine hobby/collestion. What are your preferences? ( cabs, Merlot, blends, whites?) perhaps he can give some good suggestions. Also if you ever read the Wall Street Journal, their weekend journal has a regular column about wines, and they are generally very inexpensive but good.

Cathy- thanks for the name of the hand held water bottle. I could not recall its name.

My mom passed this morning. i now have an angel. Hardest Christmas ever but she made it to heaven.

((((((Awww Karen))))) I have tears in my eyes. I feel for you and your family. So hard to lose a loved one and even harder around the holidays. I lost my dad around Christmas in 1995 so I know what it's like. I am just glad that your mom did not have to suffer for long. It's useless agony for everyone when they hang around but can't enjoy life, you know? I hope she passed on quietly and that you can take comfort in knowing she is out of pain now and will be smiling as she is watching over you, your DH and your little girls for the rest of your lives. :)

I'm back. I got my 5 miles in as planned. I had a few aches n pains in the first mile but they faded fast and then I was fine. It was way hot in the gym today though because of the unseasonably warm weather we are having here. That made it a tough run even though I kept my speed slightly slower.

I am afraid I have no time for personals. I have to shower yet and get DS ready as well. We have to be out the door in 40 minutes to head to my mom's house! YIKES!

I promise to catch up with everyone tonight though.

In memory of Karen's mom I think we should all hug our loved ones a little bit tighter today. That being said....

(((((Hugs to all)))) :)

Karen--(((Hugs))) I can't even imagine what you're feeling right now. I'm guessing that it's a real tension between relief and loss! (Relief that your mom does not have to suffer any more vs. your own personal loss). I pray that you will somehow feel peace and comfort in the middle of the storm.

Christine--Thanks for the doggie info. Jimmy is just beautiful. I have a Great Dane who is wonderful! She's expecting in about 2 weeks, so she won't start running anytime soon. But I think it would be fun. Certainly nobody would mess with me! :)

Carole--It's helpful to know that you haven't run any long speed drills. I was already kind of wondering what the point of a mile "sprint" was. It almost seemed to be the same thing as the tempo run. I may go for some shorter drills tomorrow instead of the miles.

Wendy--The fact that you are the COFFEEnated Cheetah and are now doing all this wine research made me chuckle. I am such an amateur in both departments, although some people are real experts. But both seem to be areas where some people can get really snobby. :D I guess I'm just a hick in both categories. DH doesn't know any more than I do about wine, but he's really good with the coffee, especially since living over here. He can distinguish between different blends and roasts. Maybe because he drinks his black and I disguise mine till he and my dad both call it "candy." :D Maybe you'll become the "Beverage Expert" Cheetah.

Hello cheetahs! Haven't had much of a holiday season. Work has been crazy busy, especially Christmas Eve. I'm tired to the bone.

Sorry I can't be a tad more cheerful for y'all.

Karen- I am so happy your Mother is at peace now and with God. She is indeed a very special angel and I can picture her smiling down on you now.
God Bless you and I pray you are finding the comfort and solace you need now with your wonderful children, DH and father.

Shelly

I don't know what to say other than thank you. I feel so empty. My mom is gone and I won't see her ever again. I also take comfort in not seeing her suffer. The Christmas holiday was so bad. She ok Christmas Eve but Christmas day I could see it ending. By my dd birthday (26th) I knew it was it. Yesterday she was slipping in and out of a coma and I just couldn't take the sound of her gasping for air anymore. I miss her terribly. I don't know what to do with myself today. I have cleaned all my closets out and cabinets to boot. Tomorrow I have to go down to the funeral home to set up things and to find out when her body will be there so we can have the viewings and services. I just want it to be over with.

Thanks to all of you with the love you have given me.

{{{{{{KAREN}}}}}}

My heart aches just thinking of all you have been through. You & your family will be in my thoughts & prayers. I am so sorry for your loss. I truly do believe you have an angel watching over you.

ITA with Wendy-- (((Hugs to all!)))

BBL with personals...

Karen....I am so sorry. I feel your Mom is in a much better place than we are. You will probably feel much like a robot for the next few days, doing what needs to be done. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Christine...We ran in the rain so we did not take any of the mp3's so the male bashing was on!! Thanks about the wine. I am sure they will have some Moscato in Napa! I don't do very bad on the sweets and I did well in the nutrition area yesterday. It is raining like all day here. Enjoy your day.

Cathy..I was looking at waterproof holders for my Nano online last night, very pricey. Karen was wishing for her shuffle today in the last mile. I can see why CLX sounds good and it does to me too but I have just spent too much money lately and I need to back off somewhat.

Laura...no, I have not done any long speed drills ever. I do a lot of speed training using my Heart Rate monitor and that seems to do fine. I am sure shorter drills would work for you very good.

Shelly...sending {{{hugs}}} your way for such a busy last few days.

I went 17.25 miles and it really never quit raining. Karen made it to 17 and she only wanted to do 16. Her younger sis seemed to push her...:)...Watching FB now and enjoying the last sunday of the games as Playoffs start next weekend.

Karen - Oh, sweetie, the tears are flowing right now for you and your family....{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}. You are absolutely right that you and your children will now have the most wonderful guardian angel with you, forever. I hope you find solace in knowing that she is in a far, far better place and that her suffering is mercifully over. And remember, you WILL see her again...maybe not here, in this life, but you will see her again. Hang in there.

Well, things here are going pretty well... We are having our Christmas dinner tonight, due to everything that occurred last week it got a wee bit delayed. But better late than never, right?

I'm feeling so tired from the last couple of weeks. Two funerals, only a week apart. :( We're headed up north for that & the New Year's celebrations. So I may be MIA for a few days unless I can catch a few spare minutes on DH's laptop. Hopefully I'll be able to get runs in on Mon (speed) & Wed (tempo) as planned... and will just fit whatever else in that I can. We'll be coming back on the 1st. I will be thinking of you all while I'm away-- especially you, Karen! (((HUGS TO ALL MY CHEETAH PALS!)))

(((KAREN))): More hugs & prayers for you, hon. ITA with Wendi, I totally believe you will see your mother again on the other side. We are here for whatever support we can give you.

Wendi: I think you did great with the thread title yesterday! :) Yeah, the *spa night* was just what the Dr. ordered. :) I am so sorry about all your aggravations at work!!!! Grrrr! LOL about doing the happy dance this morning-- If I can get my run in tomorrow as planned, I'll be right there with you! :D Thanks for all the support with this mary training-- this month has really taken it out of me & I'm feeling so incredibly overwhelmed & a little out of shape. Having you guys cheering me on seriously is what keeps me going.

Cathy: Yes, the avalanche danger has been pretty much the only thing local news is talking about since the accident. They actually had another avalanche at Solitude ski resort that same day... on an in-bounds run! Scary!!! It was incredibly fortunate that no one was injured. Oh, and ITA about getting those restful days in... your PJ's & movie marathon sounded absolutely heavenly! :D I burn out quickly if I don't pencil rest into the schedule... I tend to get injured more too-- I think the body needs restorative time.

Wendy: Sounds like Joey & Taylor (my DS) are two peas in a pod... he's way into Thomas the Tank Engine as well. The wooden railway is his absolute favorite. :) Santa brought Duncan (for Taylor) and Emily (for DD) this year. ;) And thanks, DH is doing much better today. Think it was something he ate.

Carole: Sounds like you got a fabulous deal on the Nano! :) Gotta love it! I salute you on that 17-18 miler in the rain, Iron Cheetah! :D

Jackie: So glad the tofurkey turned out great for you! You guys have got me intrigued now. Hope that cold you felt coming on passes you by.

Christine: Didja see any cheetahs at the zoo today? :D Hope it was a good outing! Sounds like Jimmy is quite the RP... I really need to start getting my furry babies out the door with me when the weather is cooperative.

Dallas: Tearing up over DS's reaction to no outside play for the rest of the year... I really hope things start to get better for your family. Lots of (((HUGS))) & {{{GET WELL VIBES}}}!!!!!!!

Linda: So sorry to hear about the flight being cancelled... Grrrrrr! And I hope your back is feeling better! :( Ouch!

Gloria: I am so jealous of the weather you & Dallas are having!!! We had terrible weather on and off around Christmas too-- I am totally relating to your experience driving to the airport... but the crazy weather just decided to keep sticking around here instead of moving on-- for whatever reason. Could you please send some of those warmer temps back west? We are having another frigid one.

Laura: I do the hydration belt like Wendy described. ITA that whatever works... go with it! :) Thanks for all your warm thoughts & kind words. Hee hee about no one messing with you and your Great Dane. :)

Judy: I hope you had a enjoyable time at mass. It's so nice to reconnect with your spiritual side, it keeps me centered.

Shelly: (((HUGS))) I'm sorry work has taken such a toll on you this season... :( I hope you get some much needed & well-deserved rest SOON!

Lots of love & best wishes to all! :)
