Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Happy Superbowl day everyone.

Hope to be back later for personals...
I'm going to try and run in this freezing cold weather, but may decide to finish on the TM..
It's 3-below..

-Barb

Good morning everyone!

Barb - You're an early bird this Sunday Morning!

Gail - Good luck and hope it warms up a little more than they are saying for you!

Cathy - Got your pm. That is fine. Just let me know if you get enough anytime! :)

Will be back later.

Linda

Barb - Good luck on the outside! I think I will have to stay on the TM today....unless I get really brave!

LInda

Thanks Linda--
my bravery is deflating once I stepped outside.
I'm officially procrastinating now...

I'll give it a try and finish on the TM...

Have a great day!
-Barb:)

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Good morning, Barb, Linda, & everyone else!

I had a long afternoon/night (got home about midnight) helping a friend who just moved into a new house and is doing major renovations. I worked on prepping a room for painting -- stripped a horrible border off the wall (this took forever!), spackled, and taped the ceiling -- and will probably go back today to do the painting. It'll be a full day as I didn't finish *any* schoolwork yesterday for either school or grad school...I'm pretty swamped! I wish for either a massive blizzard tonight or a vacation to come soon. *lol* Oh, and like Laurie, I took the plunge and joined an online dating service, and I absolutely understand now what she means about it being very time-consuming. I don't really know how to juggle multiple responses. It's all very new territory!

My workout will be ME. Now I'm off to catch up with personals and will be back shortly.

Cathy :)

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

hello ladies,

today's workout is p90x plyo!! i also wanted to run outside with my run buddy (we are doing the 5k together) but it's so cold out and i didn't enjoy running out in the cold a couple weeks ago.

cathy- sending ((((vacation))) vibes to you:D . good luck with your dating service. let us know how that works out for you.

Barb & linda- i am with you, if i fit in a run today, it will definitely be on the treadmill.

will be back later...

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Hi cheetahs. I have 8 miles to get in before the gang gets here. Hope you all have a great Superbowl.

Cathy- I got my shirt yesterday. It's just great. I'm wearing it today for Superbowl. I just love it. Thanks again for doing this.

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Christine :: I’m so glad you like the shirts!! :)

Barb :: thank you for those links posted yesterday. Glad you received your shirt already.

Laura :: Re: ETL…I am definitely not going vegan as I love a good steak too much, but I am going to try to incorporate more veggies & fruits. The book gives you 7 days of meal plans (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian) along with a number of recipes, which sound good (I haven’t tried any yet). I haven’t read it cover to cover but it is interesting reading. The only thing I don’t like is that Fuhrman suggests dairy be limited. Definitely opt for the Oxygen special issue over the book.

Jess :: I cracked up about DH not vacuuming up to standards. :) Thanks re: the weight loss. I do enjoy kickboxing. I have to say, it’s my favorite form of x-training. In a way, I’m glad it’s been so cold lately b/c it’s forced me to be more flexible with cardio instead of always running. (It took me *forever* to try the new Cathes bc all I wanted to do was get out there in the beautiful fall weather and run!) It’s not only better to my tendons to mix it up more, but I’m also noticing that the combo of running + k’boxing is starting to give me good results in the legs. Sorry to hear you’ve got another headache ~ you’re good about shakin’ those off.

Linda :: I agree…if it’s under 32, I don’t *need* to be out there. If you decide to run, let us know how the facemask was. I love U/A gear!

Gayle :: best of luck today in these cold temps! I’ve run with a neck gaitor before—those are easy to slip off and keep on your wrist if you get too warm.

Susan :: You're not alone ~ I fell off the wagon last night – my friends and I took a break from our work on the house and went to Chili’s where I had the Turkey Combo sandwich w/ fries and I ate everything on my plate.

Sunny :: thanks! Enjoy PlyoX today! I will keep you ladies posted on my dating adventures.

Karen :: glad you like the shirt! :) Have a great run!

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

GOOD LUCK GAYLE!!!

Today the high is minus 2 and with the windchill around minus 20 UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Tastefully Simple conference was awesome - so many fun things to tell you about and hopefully I will get my website updated with a picture, etc. so you guys can all check it out. You might even like some of the products and you could order them from me online. (no pressure, seriously)

My eating was horrible all weekend, because we got to sample A LOT of the products! Which was good, but bad for the waistline. I am trying to think up a good workout to get me back on track.

I'll be back later.
Marcia.

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Jes- I agree about doing intervals on the TM to help keep it interesting; Cardio coach can be helpful for that reason. And if not intervals then I prefer to push the speed to get done sooner too! LOL about your DH and the vacuum! Jes, 5'7" is very tall to me! My family is SHORT but all my kids are taller than me.

Christine- Ouch! That fall must have been annoying! At least your bones are strong from your weight bearing exercise :)

Linda- 5 miles on the TM is always a great accomplishment and GS BBS on top of it is even better- That has some great exercises....

Gayle- Did you stay warm at your race? Stop in and give us the post race report. :7

Susan- Any B&G combination gets my butt sore! I did the standing premix and SB abs yesterday and I was sore by days end!...Food is such a social thing isn't it?

Trust me Linda- I am slow too! I have only been running for a year and I am 46 years old!

Barb- was it safe to run outside or did you hop on the TM? We just can't find a non slippery route to run these days. Tomorrow we are forecast for 4-6 inches of lake effect snow. I will have to be on the TM for Monday and maybe Wednesday too.

Cathy- Thank you for sending out the shirt so promptly! You are a nice friend to help with home renovating :)

Colleen- How was the Birthday Max for your DS? It is nice to have some intense Cathe DVD's for when it is nasty cold....

Elaine- Why the elliptical? the main reasons are 1. The Precor has a true incline and a true elliptical motion. (I did not care for the motion of the Cybex.) 2.The Cybex had the movable arms. (My opinion is that I don't want my arms to kick in and give my lower body a rest when fatigue sets in. I want to push through the fatigue to improve my endurance) The Precor (without arms and with the adjustable cross ramp) Was the best combination, and 3. much less money than the Cybex. As a matter of fact I have found that if I don't let my hands touch at all during my elliptical workouts it is closer to feeling like a run. And my abs get used trying to keep my Upper body stabilized while performing the elliptical motion.

Shelly- I am laughing that you thought I was tall! Tall people do have an advantage in tennis, but I've been told I 'play tall.' ( I jump and sprint halfway decently)

Karen- are you doing that 8 miles on the TM again! Go for it!

Carole- how long is your long run today? have fun watching on the big game on the new TV!

Today is my weekly rest day and I am so sore from B&G yesterday!

****I want you all to know I have done yoga for 3 consecutive days! I believe it is helpful.

ETA- Hi Marcia :) I will check you web page when it is up. I have used some of those products.

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Hi Marcia & Judy!

Judy :: great job doing 3 consecutive days of yoga. It *does* help, and I'm really bad about dropping it when things get busy.

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Good luck Gayle!!

Quick check-in for me. I took a rest day yesterday as we got a new mattress set and moving out the old one and moving in the new one....kinda irritated my back. But...sleeping last night was wonderful. One should never wait 20 years to replace their bed!!!

I am planning on a trail run today. I might even do some legwork first. About 10 miles.

I will be back for personals...:)

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Good Morning Cheetah Pals!:)

Today is my rest day but I never did X Stretch y'day so I will do it today instead.

I took updated pics and measurements since I am officially at the end of Phase 1 of the X. I am pleased with the #'s and what I see when I look in the mirror but the camera is another story. In both instances (day 1 and day 30), I look pretty horrid compared to what I see live. Cameras are NOT my friend! ACK!x(

So here are my results from phase 1. I am posting them as loss/gain.

Weight: -1.5 pounds
Body Fat%: -1.1%
BMI: -.3
Chest: same (good thing, I can't afford to lose anything there!LOL)
Waist: -.25 inches
Hips: -1 inch
Bicep(flexed): -.25 inches (is it supposed to go DOWN? I'm doing 12-15 reps so may so!)
Thigh: -.5 inches
Calf: -.25 inches
Back: + .5 inches (is that a GOOD thing??? Does that mean bigger lat muscles?)

Despite the lousy pics I definately see an increase in muscle definition. Makes me very happy!:)

Sorry, no personals right now. I'll be back in a bit for that...I PROMISE! :)

ETA: Hey ladies...I have done yoga x 2 times this week already. I am supposed to do x stretch today but I have Baron's new vid to try and I am considering doing that today instead of the stretch. Does anyone see any reason why I SHOULDN'T do yoga instead of the stretch?? TIA!

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Good Morning Ladies:) I'm not sure what my cardio will be today but, yet again, ShovelMax will be my resistance training;-) Courtesy of the plow I have a 4 foot deep pile of packed snow at the mouth of my driveway, THANKS PLOWMAN!!x( :p I had such a nice date last night.....he's tall, good looking, fit, interesting, interested, we made each other laugh and didn't run out of conversation, I'm a bit embarrassed at a couple of very ditzy things I said because I was nervous but WTH, it's true, I can be pretty ditzy.....we had coffee, cocktails and dinner, a comfortable 6 hour date. I would really enjoy hearing from him again:)

Cathy, good for you registering at e-harmoney!!! I have a client who is the poster boy for them, he met his wife on-line, he was in Alberta, she was here. Within a year he moved here and they were married and truly happy. He is on a mission to inform any and all singles he encounters about e-harmony. Sounds like a lot of work for you and your friend yesterday, I'm sure she was more than grateful for your help.

Gayle, great good luck in your race today!!!!! GO GAYLE!!!!

Elaine, nice to see you:), I'm with you on those B&G one legged squats, if I do make through to the end my singles are always 2-2's. They are killer!!! The Glen thing fizzled into a bewildering conclusion. There's no where to go with someone who can look at you and say 'I just don't want to feel anything'. I've been on 2 dates, although 'interview' is better put. I had an overuse injury to my ankle after my half and after physio it improved but it's burning and feels very 'clicky', it'll get better...:)

Christine, hope your 'crud' is receding and you feel better today. I'd love to see a pic of you in your Cheetah tee!

Marcia, your conference sounds great, I think there should be a technicality on 'conference calories', they absolutely shouldn't count!!!!:7

Judy, good job on the yoga, it really does help!

Carole, the football Junkie Queen!!:) Why am I NOT surprised that you got a new tv to watch today's game on!!:+ After your wonderful day you can rest in your comfy new bed, perfect!!!:)

Wendy, great job on the progress and definition!! You must be very happy, I know I would be. Bigger lats are a fabulous thing as the lats natural taper makes our waist look smaller, bring on the PULL UPS!!}(

I'd better get working out Ladies, have a happy, fun, Superbowl Sunday all !!

Take Care
Laurie:)

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

carole- a new bed and new tv, whew you are in heaven. enjoy your long run today.

wendy- you are on such a roll. congrats with your new stats! i am impressed. are you following the p90x nutrition plan?

laurie- so happy to hear you had an awesome date. 6 hrs, it really sounds like you two enjoyed yourselves.

marcia- sounds like you had a fabulous weekend. might i suggest bootcamp..lol

judy- good job on doing yoga for 3 days. please give me some of your enthuisiam for yoga. actually i went to target yesterday and bought rodney yee's beginner yoga package. i am hoping it will help when i have to do yogaX for 90 mins.

alrighty ds has layed down for a nap so it's off to workout i go!

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

morning- Its very cold here today. Its -3degrees with a supposed high of 7 degrees . glad I ran outside yesterday.

Barb- make sure you layer appropriately for running outside and remember once you get running you wont be that cold, at least that is what I tell myself.no once I got running yesterday I wasnt cold at all. goodluck!

cathy- thanks, I will look for the magazine.

wendy-congrats on the achievements with the X!

carole- enjoy your run!!

I havent decided what I am going to do today. Maybe turbojam, I did however order barrysbootcamp from HSN. I heard they where good hard workouts. I dont feel like turbo jam is hard but Its fun and I want to add at least one day of kickboxing and havent really found a workout that I really really like. I do have kick punch and crunch but too much repetative moves bore me. anybody know of any other good kickboxing workouts? I do have the original tae bo I could do.

anyway, have a nice day!

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Well..........
I did 8 miles outside -- was warm enough (thanks Laura) but my water bottle froze...
and next time, I need glove liners + gloves. I need an alternative neck gator thing because mine froze up.

Thanks to everyone for the good cheer! It really helped me buck up and just do it!

Judy -- I'm 5'9" but I play tennis like a midget! I used the new spikey shoes: the Asics Arctic shoe and they were very stable on the ice. You might be interested in these. You cannot run on pavement with them because they have little metal mini-cleats, but they were great for snow.

I am running short on time and am sorry to not have time for personals. :-(

I have to go to a few meetings (ugh) and am not looking forward to sitting. Maybe I'll stretch more in the back seat of my car. (Kristi--this is the "me" who would nap in the parking lot at target..)

Have a great day Superbowl watchers!

Gayle--I hope your race went well and you are smiling.

Hope to be back later!!
-Barb
