Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Hey Everyone.

Well, I did part of Baron Baptiste's Long and Lean today. I enjoyed it. I think it was about 20 mins though I hadn't noted the time when I started. For those of you who have it, I stopped at the eagle pose since I won't be able to twist my arms up like that anyhow! LOL :p Baron has a style I like. He went through the poses much quicker then Tony does though which presented a challenge for me but now that I have some experience with the poses, it was okay. I was a little behind but it was not ridiculous and I know with practice, I will improve. I think once I can do this dvd well I will dust off Mr. YP and give him another shot!}( :9 }(

In any case...I may do a segment of StretchMax before bed tonight since I didn't finish the yoga vid. Tomorrow starts Phase 2 of the X! I'm totally stoked!}( }( }(

Okay, well I'm off. DS isn't feeling well. He woke up early from his nap with a pretty nasty fever today. I gave him tylenol and it knocked it down fast but he's still not himself. Poor lil' guy. :-(

I don't know if I'll be back for personals again tonight but if not I'll catch up in the morning!

Toodles!:+

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Well, I know I "should" be watching the SB...but...I am here...reading posts;)

Gayle - great job! Congratulations! I am in awe of your running in that temperature! You did great!

wendy - Hope Joey feels better soon!

Marcia - I haven't heard of that book. I went to the bookstore today to look for Eat To Live. There were out and had to order it for me. I am anxious to read that one.

Barb - Wow! You did it! You were much braver than me! I stayed inside :+ My hat's off to you!:7 It must have been colder than the devil for your water bottle to freeze!!!!

Cathy - That was really nice of you to do all of that work to help your friend! I did use my facemask today...but...only to walk Madison :+ I didn't run outside! The mask (or whatever it is called) didn't really feel as warm as I though it would. It was better than nothing, but didn't help as much as I had hoped. Maybe it will really help when I run??

Judy - We are close to the same age. I am 47. enjoy your rest day and great job on the yoga for 3 consec. days!

Carole - The picture is gorgeous! It would be great to have such a wonderful place to run! You are really lucky! Glad you got a good night's sleep on your new mattress!

Sunny - Do you still do Barry's Bootcamp pretty regularly? Do you think I should get them? Do you recommend them ? Enjoy PlyoX!

Laura - That is sooo funny! I did Kick -n- Core today, too! I did a 4 mile speed walk on the treadmill and my daughter called (the TurboJam policewoman). She jumped all over me because she always gets onto me for running and doing other cardio all the time instead of TurboJam. So..I got off the TM and did Kick n Core. We are going to Camp TurboKick in August in Irvine Ca. and hopefully to become certified. She is always telling me I need to "practice" :p So....I am going to try to do it more often. I do like it a lot.

Shelly - I have yet to the that B&G premix! I really need to try it. Hope you enjoyed that and your walk/run!

Karen - Hope your enjoyed your 8 miler! enjoy the SB!

Christine - Enjoy your elliptical workout. Good job on the spinning and hope you feel better!

Susan - Your workouts looked great! Glad you are feeling good and responding well to them! I think I need to miss mine up a little more, too.

Elaine - Wow! Great job on your run!

Laurie - Glad the date went well and that you liked him! Sounds like fun!

Wendy - I am sure the pictures are great and that you are having great results! You probably just can't see past the fact that the pictures are of you. At least that is the way I am ;)

I ended up doing 4 miles on the TM, until my daughter called and made me get off and do TurboJam Kick -N- Core. I call her the TurboJam police. It was a fun combination! I walked on the TM...it wasn't a run.

Hi to anyone I may have missed and hope everyone has a good night!

Linda

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Linda--I like walking on the TM and find I am often more sore after walking, esp. with an incline, than running. I also like TJ workouts. I don't have the new Core ones, though, but really like Punch, K & Jam and CP 3. That is very cool you get to attend a TJ Camp and get certified.

Sunny-thanks for the link. I will check it out. I don't think Kelly Coffey's stepbox workout is advanced, but it's intermediate compared to KPC or KM. The style reminds me of kickbox segments on Cathe step tapes. The Amy Bento kickbox Xtreme is more advanced and the cardio intensity is higher. I like having them both.

Wendy--Sorry Joey is under the weather. Good job on your yoga tape. I have Baron's Yoga for Athletes, which I think is shorter than Long & Lean and I like his style. (Thanks to Susan & Carole for recommending him!)

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Holy smokes! A lotta posts! This is just a quick, drive-by check-in -- I will have to catch up with personals in the morning, sorry. Just reporting in to say I finished ME. Love that one!

Talk to you in the AM!
cathy :)

Carole, Fill me in on doing P90X, Cathe and running when you get a chance since I just can't see how it can be done! LOL! I normally do carry water or sport drink with me when I run longer than 8 miles but I thought "Well, it's just one mile longer than 8 so I will be OK." Unfortunately I gave DH an opportunity to say "I told you so." I hate that! :)

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Hi everyone!!

This is my first time posting in the check-in area. You all are soooo inspiring! I'm recovering from a neuroma in my right foot but my goal for the year in to run a 5k and 10k (because it's been waaay too long since I've run in races and my supply of t-shirts are getting to be shredded... so it must be time to start running in road races again. I'm super slow, but that doesn't stop me. I'm wily I guess! I run just to run and to DO IT!

So while my workouts won't include runs for a while I am going to try and join the check-ins as often as I can!

We had a nasty stomach bug rotating around the house this week so this week has been very lame workout-wise, but I was finally feeling normal again and I hopped on the elliptical for 30 minutes. YAHOO!

Thanks for reading this far (I won't normally be this long-winded)!! LOL!
:)

RE: Cheetah Runner Check In Sunday Feb. 4::::::::::::::...

Superbowl is over so I have time to type.

Lisa- Feel free to check in and be as long winded as you like. We are all just a group of women who love running. You'll fit right in. I got my start here doing my first 5k last year with the help of all these great women. Now we can encourage you to get back to where you were. I had that nasty bug two years ago. I hope this house never sees it again.

Elaine- Yeah that was me. I haven't decided yet. I would like to do the Baltimore marathon or the Philly marathon. I have heard Philly is a flat course and Balto. has some good hills. This would be a no brainer if it were my 5 or sixth one. I would love to run a relativly flat course for my first but Philly is like 80 miles away and Baltimore is 40 min down the road. I'm thinking still. Any suggestions!!!!!
