Cathletes Gettin' to Goal 10/25 - 10/31

upnorthchick

Cathlete
Starting us off for the week. :)

I am fired up!! Woo! I'm ready to make our check-in title my reality! :D

Jacque: I'm sorry your son's team lost. I think it would be really hard for teams to go from real to fake grass. What a disadvantage. It's not like the NFL were they have special training places. I hope those players will be okay to play the next game.

When DH visited AZ last year we took some road from Mesa and headed to the Tortilla Flats and then stayed on the road past there. Zig to the Zag!! I'm a nervous passenger anyway so this was not a great road for me to be on. It was a loooonnnggg day and by the time we got back to Scottsdale, we were both a little grumpy.

Nancy: Way to plan ahead on your workout!! :) Have a great day at the photo shoot tomorrow! Sounds fun!

This morning I did about half of SS Burn it Up. It's tougher than I thought it would be. I also stopped because today is supposed to be a rest day.

I had a yummy breakfast: scrambled 2 eggs, sprinked with 2 TBL 2% shredded cheese; put it in a pita that I had cut in half, and topped them each with a TBL of salsa. Delicious 5 point breakfast! The pitas are Joseph's Flax, Oat Bran, & Whole Wheat Flour Pita Bread. They are soft and taste really good. Each pita has 45 cal., 1 g fat(no sat.), 8g carb, 4g fiber, and 250mg sodium. According to my WW point scale, 1 pita has ZERO points!!

Have a great day everybody!!

Hi Lisa and all who follow,

Today's a scheduled rest day for me. Even though I haven't loved KCM's new w/os, I'm sure experiencing DOMS after doing them. I'm ready for a good week as well, Lisa! :D

Wow, Jacque! That really must have been a RT. Those roads look crazy! Sorry about the loss. DB's team took the district title last night though they have one more game before playoffs begin. It's with a cross town rival so it ought to be interesting. I plan on going. It is nice to have the home team advantage going into playoffs. Oh, I saw the pics of your DD's birthday you posted on FB. She's a little doll and your pool is absolutely gorgeous!

Nancy, it does look like only about 40 or so there and I noticed 2 guys in the bunch, too. I was thinking about the extra Cathe time they must have gotten as well. I bet it was nice. I'm anxious to hear how the tryouts went.

Okay, girls, let's have a good week! We went out to eat after church today. Skipped SS. I'll be eating out on Tuesday as well but plan on that being it for the week.

OK, so sometimes the answer gets forced into your face....several of the dietitians at my work were assigned books written by other dietitians to read and review....I got the F-Factor Diet...I have ordered it off amazon but have done a little research on-line. It is bascially high fiber, low complex carb, lots of leans meats and fr/veg....we'll see how it goes!
Have a great week everyone. I have only been running this weekend, plan to do Koga tomorrow.

Lisa...I love that breakfast idea! I think it would fit into the F-Factor!

Sunday

Lisa, thanks for getting us started. You definitely do sound fired up -- way to go! That breakfast sounds delicious -- nice going on starting the day right.

Rhondalyn, you sound determined to have a good week, as well. Even though you're not crazy about the new workouts it's good to know they're doing something for you and they're not a total waste of time. I had forgotten about the Cathe auditions -- I hope we do hear some feedback from those, too.

Lacy, let us know what you find out about the F-Factor. I did a program for awhile called Body Rx that was weight training and a diet plan. He was really big on high fiber, too. I wasn't really following the diet plan, though, more just the workout aspect of it.

I did get CLX PC1 in today as planned, and went much heavier than the first time 'round last week. I was down .6 for today's WI. It's disappointing, but considering the big losses I've had for the past month it's probably not too surprising. I'm fine with it as long as it doesn't become a trend! :p Have a terrific week, everyone!

Me again!

Rhondalyn: It's going to be a great week for sure!! :D

Nancy: .6 pounds down is STILL good! I'm sure after weeks of BIG losses, it doesn't seem as good. You are almost half way to your goal!! That is AWESOME!

Oh..and ITA about the Daytona RT attendance being down possibly because it came so quickly after the summer RT. I would have been on board the Daytona RT if it would have been in say, March. :)

Lacy: You're a Dietician? Cool!! I toyed with being a Dietician. I thought it would be great to go around to schools and speak to kids about the importance of healthy foods and exercise. Of course, that was when I was near my goal weight!!:eek:

You'll need to let us know how Koga AND the F-Factor are!! :) I'm off to google the F-Factor...

Thanks, Lisa. I wasn't going to put the ticker up to start, but seeing it move has been very exciting <-----clearly, it doesn't take much!

I'll have to see whether the new RTs make it to the west before deciding whether to attend one of these types. If it's someplace I can fairly conveniently drive to, that would be a big selling point.

I have my hopes up for Chicago. I can drive there. :) But I will consider, very seriously: CA, AZ, GA, or WA/OR... I have either family or friends in those areas.

Of course, there is always the possibility of the regular Road Trip! :D

Happy Monday to all!

I did Circuit Max this morning. What a great blast from the past! It was a lot of fun even though I did need to modify to get through it. :D

Lacy, the F-factor sounds like good clean eating to me. I know "clean" means different things to different people but that sounds like a good one to me. :) Still waiting to hear about Koga. ;)

Nancy, I think .6 is great! You're right about the big losses already this month. You're still heading in the right direction and I would think you'd expect to level out for awhile at some point. Most people usually do.

I really want to go on the next RT she has at her gym next year. I think I'll probably try because I doubt she'll have any other RTs close to me. :( I have no intentions of doing the RTs every year but I do want to go back one more time. Only this time I want to be at goal.:D

Monday morning

Hope everybody's having a great Monday. Mine started off a little hectic (as usual ) but I got everyone off to school (except my DD, she doesn't go until the afternoon).

I'm glad to see everyone so fired up and ready to meet goal! That's how I am too. I started off by not finishing all my breakfast this morning. I was thinking if I leave a few bites on my plate every meal (making sure I keep my portions reasonable to begin with) then I'll save at least 100 calories a meal.:) I need to get downstairs soon to do my workout now. CM sounds like a good one Rhondalyn. I haven't done that one in a long time. I think that it's one of Cathe's toughest (for me anyway).;) I don't know if I feel up for Insanity today. For some reason I've felt really tired lately. Almost like I'm fighting off getting sick.

Lisa: Thanks for starting us off this week. Great to hear you're fired up! Helps to motivate me too. :) If you're a nervous passenger you would not of liked this road. I made myself carsick!:p It would be great to see you at the EB trip if they come to Phoenix!

Nancy: Good luck on your photo shoot today. Sorry you have to make that yucky drive to Phoenix. :( Have a safe trip. Congratulations on the weight loss. Any loss is better than a gain! Right? :D

Rhondalyn: That's great that your brother's team is doing so well! Have fun at the game this weekend. DS's game this Friday is Senior Parent Night. I know I'll be shedding some tears. :( I get sad when I think that this is his last year. Unfortunately his playoff games will be on the road and that means 3-4 hour drives to most of them. Sometime is sucks living out in the boonies. :) I see you got your ticker to work. Great job on the weight loss. I know what you meant about the RT at Cathe's gym. I really only want to go one more time myself and only if I'm at goal. I'll go to an EB trip only if it's close by. Although I have to admit I did daydream about auditioning. If I had been closer to my goal weight I might of just gone to Daytona so I could.

Lacy: Let us know how you like F-factor. It sounds interesting. I may have to look into it.

Have a great day everyone. I'll try to check-in later.

Tuesday

Hello there! I hope everyone is off to a great week! It's supposed to be sunny and warm up to 54 degrees today so I'm psyched! HA! :p

I swam last night, and without incident. :p I found out that I made the list for the deep water class which starts next month. Yay!

This morning I tried out SS Mix it Up. Very good workout. I was huffin' & puffin'. Not sure if it was due to my lost endurance or because it's really that hard! :D Either way, I got a really good workout. Tonight I need to go to the gym-I have to get 12 days in for insurance reimb.-I think I'll warm up on the TM for 5 min, do some core work, and finish with some stretching.

Rhondalyn: I feel the same way about the regular RT's- I want to go one more time but I want to be at goal!

Jacque: How are you feeling? Most everyone in my office has a sick kid or are sick themselves. It's like a ghost town around here! That is great idea-leaving some food on your plate! Between the left over bites and exercise you'll have a big calorie deficit each week!
Good luck on Friday at Senior Parent night. Bring some kleenex! ;)

I saw the line up for the next EB RT's: San Diego, Texas, Chicago. Don't know if that's in order of event. I was hoping to see Phoenix on there- for many reasons
1) It's warm in AZ
2) I have friends in Scottsdale
3) I could possibly see you and Nancy at the EB RT
4) It's warm in AZ :)

Oh..I am down .5 pounds. I was hoping for more but I've really only been "serious" since Saturday. :D

Tuesday

Lisa, I was sure hoping to Phoenix on the RT list, too, but it sounded like it hadn't even been on their radar until I suggested it in the Q&A session with Chris, so I'm not surprised it's not on there yet. Although he did sound interested. Be careful what you wish for, though. Groups tend to head to Arizona in the summer when you would get more than the "warm" you're hoping for because it's so much less expensive than the winter tourist months. I would love to see all of you again, although I'm just not sure at this point whether I'll go to NJ again. We'll see. Great going on all of your workouts, including a safe water aerobics session! What did you have to do to get on the deep-water list, or was it just a matter of signing up quickly enough? Way to go on that .5 loss -- you're on your way to an even better one for next week with a full week behind you. Keep it up!

Rhondalyn, I'm sure I must have done CM at least one (although, that's not "for sure" at all, since I have others I haven't done yet) but I'll remember about it being a tough one when I get to it. I think circuits are inherently hard anyway -- at least for me, they are. I'm totally with you guys in wanting to be at goal if/when I go on another RT. I would sure love to see some much-improved photos showing up, that's for sure. But what a great before/after testimonial to all of our hard work.

Jacque, I like your plan about leaving a little food on the plate. I've heard that before as far as being an effective tool -- keep us posted. The photo shoot went great and I can't wait to see the pictures. I know our knew photographers are going to work out really well for us.

I just finished CLX PC2 today. I remember now that someone had asked me whether I was tired yet of the warmup and cooldown -- yes! A little variety, even just from phase to phase would have been nice. But I did go heavier today than last week and got another good workout. I'm afraid, though, that I'm getting spoiled by these short workouts. STS is going to be shock in more ways than one. I plan to walk on the treadmill while watching TBL tonight.

ETA: I know the few people who made the Daytona RT are just getting home and into their weekly routine again, but I'm disappointed not to see more posts about details of the trip (other than Cynthia's) and what people thought about their preview of Shock Cardio :-( I guess since there was very little buzz even on the Daytona board before the RTers even went that most of them are not active posters and we may never hear much. Too bad.

Tuesday evening

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a good evening. There's a storm brewing here. The wind just started blowing really bad. I just hope our power doesn't go out (like it seems to do everytime we get a little wind or rain :() Temps tomorrow are forecast to be chilly (at least chilly for here :D). I was actually able to go for a run outside this afternoon and not pass out from heatstroke :p. That was my workout for the day (a 4-mile run). Yesterday was 4DS HIS (chest and back work too) I have some good DOMS going on today.:) I plan on doing all the 4DS workouts this week. I abondoned the Insanity rotation. I'll still throw some Insanity workouts into my rotation but an Insanity rotation by itself is just too much HiiT for me.

Lisa: Congrats on making the deep water class. Good job on the weight loss too!:) I love all your reasons for wanting a RT in Phoenix ;). Nancy is right though, a RT in the summer wouldn't be too good. I wish I knew if they were coming to Phx. if not then I may plan on the attending the San Diego one instead.

Nancy: Glad to hear your photo shoot went well. :) I agree with you on the lack of "buzz" regarding the Daytona RT. I think you're right though about most of the people attending not being regular posters. I didn't even know there was a Daytona forum until a couple of days ago. I must not of been the only one because I noticed Cathe posted about it today.

Jacque, I saw your post about the step workout and the crew. I have been wondering whether Jai got hurt or had something come up, they hired Deazie, and getting her up to speed caused some of the delay that has people's knickers in a twist.

That's a good theory Nancy. I didn't even think about that. I noticed that Jai was in the rehearsal pics so I thought maybe Cathe was just rotating background people. It's unusual for her to only have 3 people in the background though. LOL at your "knickers in a twist" comment.:D It's always like that around these boards when there's a presale going on (and it seems like it's gone on and on ;)).

How's your weather? The wind really blew here last night. It kept me awake :(. It felt like it was going to blow the roof off of our house. Luckily it was just a few shingles and not the entire roof .

I need to muster up enough energy to get my workout done.

BBL :)

Wednesday

Jacque, it blew like crazy here, too. We were more fortunate with our roof, as far as I know as I haven't looked and my husband didn't say anything. I'm glad you didn't sustain more damage. And where the heck is all that rain they were forecasting? <sigh> I ended up getting my car washed today because it was pretty clear there was no rain to be had. I know about all the angst surrounding pre-orders, as this is my third one. Maybe I've just forgotten, but it sure seems like there is a lot more bitterness surrounding this one. And you could very well be right about them rotating background people as they did with STS Weights.

I had CLX Burn Intervals/Ab Burner on the schedule today but have had enough of Chalene for now with the weight workouts. I was looking through my collection and spied the Circuit Max you guys were talking about and realized it was still in the wrapper . I did it and loved it! This is now on my favorites list. I don't know whether I was just jonesing for some Cathe or it just clicked with me, but I'm glad I have it and did it.

<waves Hi to Lisa and Rhondalynn and any lurkers >

Hi girls,

CCV-6 today. So much for having a great eating week. I've not done well at all. :( Every time I think things are going to turn around, they don't. I think I'm going to stop talking about my eating. I'll let you know when I lose an ounce though. ;)

I'm kind of hoping that they don't have tryouts if I do get to go on the next regular RT. 31 out of 49 trying out tells me something about this group of girls. Not that I wouldn't dream of auditioning for a spot in the next w/o. I would most certainly fantasize about it but I don't think I'd actually go through with it because I know I'm not what she is looking for. I think many of these girls made the trip because they are what she might be looking for. Just a hunch. I might be totally wrong. I don't want the RTs to become competitions. KWIM?

Oh well, I had to work again today. This is getting old. I guess I better go see who has their knickers in a wad. :D

Glad you liked CM, Nancy. It is fun. :D

Thursday!

I'm just checking in quickly to say that I won't get a w/o in today. I'm working AGAIN! I'll be going to a ballgame when I get home so I know I won't have time. They changed the game to tonight because we're supposed to have rain, rain and some more rain this weekend. :( Anyway, maybe tomorrow I'll have time for personals. Y'all have a good one!

Thursday!

Rhondalyn: I'm sorry you have to work so much lately. We have rain here too and more coming. At least it's not snow! I totally KWYM about RT's turning into competitions. I wonder if they had audtions in Daytona to draw more people there?? If I go to another regular RT, I hope they don't have auditions. That would definitely take away from "Cathe time" and possibly change the atmosphere of the weekend.

Nancy: Did you put Charlene away for the day or for a while? There's nothing like a Cathe workout!! :) I watched the CM preview and it does look like a lot of fun! It reminds of CTX. Maybe some day I'll be able to leap and pony again :p
You are SO right on with the preorder bitterness! What is up with that? This is my 2nd presale...maybe 3rd and I don't remember people being so nasty. Of course, this is the first year that I regulary post and/or read the forums. Even the non preorder topics get a little heated. I hesitate to ask questions or respond to some posts on even the fitness topics. I feel safe here, though. :)
I really think the lack of buzz for Daytona was because it came so soon after the regular RT. Like Jacque, I didn't know there was a Daytona forum either!!
Oh, I got into the deep water class because I signed up quickly and I have my own belt. :D

Jacque: I'm glad your roof didn't blow away!! How's 4 D's going? Good for you for listening to your body on the Insanity Rotation. I saw your DD's birthday pics on FB. She is so cute! And wow, you have a nice pool!! It looks like a resort! :)
I might do the San Diego EB RT too depending on when it is. However, Chicago would be ideal for me.

Nancy and Jacque: You make a good point about Phoenix and the heat! Probably a better Springtime location :)

I have been feeling great for 2 weeks now, so this morning I did some steppin'! I put in The Viper - I know! I'm crazy! But I modified A LOT of the step by just doing a basic or around the world. I love the mix of ME, Imax2, and C&W. It felt SO good to be on my step!! I'm just going to pull out my step once a week for now. I can tend to over do it but I'm setting these boundaries for myself. Up until March of this year, I was working out twice a day for a total of about 2 1/2 - 3 hours.:eek: Just a little bit of over training.

Well, I have been at work for almost 2 hours and all I've done is check my email, check the recipe of the day on Allrecipes.com, and logged on to Cathe.com to post here! It's just one of those days!

Hope everyone has a good day!

<-----wonders how Linda and Melissa are doing and hope to them here again soon. :)

Thursday

Rhondalyn, I'm sorry about your eating. The best thing you can do is put it behind you right away and start again with the very next meal. I know -- easier said than done, but that's what it takes. That's a bummer that work is interfering with your workouts. That should not be allowed to happen! Good luck to your team in the game.

Lisa, no I didn't put CLX away but just subbed yesterday's workout. I did PC3 today and got a good one, going heavier than last week on most exercises, and will go heavier on some of them next week, too. Way to go on being able to do some step -- that must have felt great! Watch yourself so you don't overdo, as you said. No sense in taking one step forward and two steps back. It occurred to me that you were saying that your pain flairs seem to coincide with PMS. I know often my quirky back bothers me then, too (nothing like yours, of course). Can you start loading up on something like Midol or Pamprin to get ahead of the game when you know it's about that time? It does feel safe in this thread, doesn't it? I sometimes have to remind myself, though, that anyone can read it.

My husband and I met 31 years ago today at a Halloween party -- doesn't seem possible! I was dressed as a gypsy and he was dressed as himself. I was 21 and he was 34. He came up to talk to me and the first thing I said to him was, "How old are you?" He's never let me forget that, especially when I turned 34 -- somehow it didn't seem so ancient to me then . It was love at first sight, according to him, and he wasn't deterred. It took me just slightly longer to return the emotion, but not too long.:D

Hello everyone. You are all inspirational with your workouts and I am so jealous. I am going to go back to getting up at 430 to workout. I only have some free weights here at my in-laws and no Cathe videos. It has been over a month since I have done more than a 20 minute workout. I usually do one body part for a short period of time and I only do about 2 days per week. For a while I wasn't gaining anything but I noticed today I am up about 2 pounds. Back to better focus but it has been hectic here.

Good news...D's EEG came back normal!!!! We just have to take her temp regularly and if she is even at 99.0 we have to give her Tylenol. I am very afraid of her having another seizure. It sure is scary to watch.

We closed on our new house. We have been going there to clean in our free time. The people who lived there were disgusting. I don't think they ever cleaned parts of the bathroom. There was still joint compound on the top of the tub! We just had a friend who is a decorator go thru and help us with colors. I can't wait for the painter to start. I was hoping to be in by Thanksgiving but I think the beginning of December is more realistic.

I am hoping for a roadtrip close to you in Arizona. I would love to attend one of the ones coming up but I won't be able to. Hopefully next summer again.

I hope everyone has a great night. Lately, I only lurk here but don't post much, and I don't do personal ones very often. Sorry about that. I do check in and read everyday though.
