Looks like (previewed only) a perfect compliment to CircuitMax! It's set up in the same way, a cardio portion followed by weight work w/dumbbells, the only difference is on each cycle there is a 1st exercise where Cathe will grab a lighter weight (8#) to do an exercise, then follow it up with a heavier weight to work that same body part. Like 8# to do a 1 arm standing tricep extension, then lie down on the step and use 2-15#db to do lying triceps extensions, so each cycle does at least 2 exercises for that upperbody part (triceps, biceps, shoulders and back) going from a lighter weight to a heavier weight.
The cardio portions look really fun and are very different from CircuitMax. The last body part to get hit is chest where she does db chest presses and flys and pyramid push ups/planks combo and then there is an abs section.

This would fit perfectly in an endurance rotation with CircuitMax and utilizing 1 other total body workout like Muscle Endurance or PowerHour.

Oh, Thank you Donna. It is going to be very helpful for me. I tend to like to put Cirsuit max in my rotations. So this will be welcome and challenging!

I feel the same way! Until now the only other "circuit style" workout I had to put with CircuitMax was Reebok's Step Circuit Challenge, which isn't bad, but I have to use an 8" step to make the cardio portion challenging, so that shows it doesn't do much for me cardiovascular wise. Nothing Cathe can I do at 8", 6" is my Cathe maximum, and I'm struggling with that! :)

So this is going to be a very welcomed addition!

Thanks Donna,

This is the one I am really looking forward to, as I LOVE Circuit Max !!!!!!!!! After reading your reviews so far, I think I am going to be spoilt for choice as to what to order in February - so far it looks like Cardio & Weights, Muscle Endurance, and Bootcamp !!!

Enjoy the rest of your new vids !!!!!!!! :)

Anna :)

When the time comes for you to make your purchase,do the math on the cost of the 3 you want separately versus the whole series because if it's only a matter of say $25. or less, the whole series is really worth the price! This series is going to be just as versatile as CTX is, and even at the current VHS price of $99., I would still buy this whole 6-video series in a heartbeat! And Anna, come on, by February you'll be so ready for Imax 2! :) You know you will! :)

Gettin Fit, how difficut is the step choreography? That's the only thing that worries me about this video. Otherwise, my credit card is ready on pay day :)

Did you try this tape yet Donna? Is the cardio easy (well, Cathe easy, which usually isn't very easy at all)? It seems to me like Cathe described this one as being less intense (maybe to be used on a day after doing Boot Camp or Imax II)? I wanted to thank you for your indepth posts and descriptions of each video. It is very thoughtful and much appreciated. (You knw this was coming- how was the music on this one?) Thanks Donna!

I'm doing this one tomorrow Jilly. It looks like (to me) a "slightly" less intense CircuitMax. I think because where CM does give you 2 exercises for bi's, tri's etc., this one gives you 2-3, and the 2nd and 3rd exercises are with increased weight, actually lying down on the step or standing but focused on a heavier weight load, putting slightly more focus on weights than CM. But as with CM, it will be what you chose to make it, more cardio focused with lighter weight, or more heavily weight focused with increased weight loads. But the cardio portions really look fun and do-able. And less, "OMG am I suppose to be able to do that?" But intense nonetheless! :)

I'll let you know tomorrow am! :)
