can a cat really model?

you gotta check out my new avatar! is there a way to remove some of the background? i took it on my couch so some things i would like to remove-like above her head. i also have another good picture but my shoes are in the way.

I think many cats are quite photogenic, and they do seem to think of themselves as models, LOL! (On the other hand, some, like my Rascal, look all nervous and bothered when they get their picture taken----maybe afraid it will steal their soul?).

Your avatar is quite lovely!

I use either the "Instant Alpha" tool within programs like Pages or Keynote on the Mac, or otherwise, Photo Shop.

Cute pic! :D

She is very pretty! Her pose reminds me of that over-the-shoulder look that the photographers use for high school/college formal pictures. As others have mentioned, photo shop would probably remove some of the dark background. One of my darlings (not the one in my avatar) seem to strike a pose when the camera is around, but she's a diva anyway. The other three could give two hoots about the camera.

ha! someone else said the same thing about her being sultry. thanks for the comps! i have so many poses-watching ICarly, laying in bathroom sink, and relaxing on her back. Target has Photo Shop for sale so i will try that.

I do photography for a local cat rescue organization, and I can tell you, some of these cats know what they are doing. Most, especially kittens, don't want to cooperate too much, but others will just sit and look at you like, yeah, I know I'm gorgeous.

What great pics! I agree, cats know what they are doing. Nadia looks like my first cat, Coursagy, that i got when i was four. I have had cats for years and they never cease to amaze me.
Do you have homes yet for " Double Trouble". I didn't see that they were adopted?

I couldn't help but look at alot of your flicker pics. You are a great photographer. Are you self taught or did you go to school?

I am strictly self-taught. Luckily, I have a lot of photography friends, so I am always learning something new. My boyfriend is a professional photographer, so I get to do a lot of stuff with him.

One of my cats' names is Josie too! Actually, it's Josephine, but I call her Josie, Ms Jose', Josie Posey, JP, and mamma cat. I have her daughter too...her name is Abby (Abigail, AB, Abba Dabba, Kitten Cat). They are absolutely crazy.
