Buy a Dog!!!

[font size=+2 face=comic]If you want someone who will eat whatever you put in front of him and never say its not quite as good as his mothers...

...then buy a dog

If you want someone always willing to go out, at any hour,
for as long and wherever you want ...

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/aljack_78/pic2-1.jpg
...then buy a dog

If you want someone who will never touch the remote, doesn't care about football, and can sit next to you as you watch romantic movies...

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/aljack_78/pic3-1.jpg
...then buy a dog

If you want someone who is content to get on your bed just to
warm your feet and whom you can push off if he snores...

...then buy a dog

If you want someone who never criticizes what you do, doesn't care if you are pretty or ugly, fat or thin, young or old, who acts as if every word you say is especially worthy of listening to, and loves
you unconditionally, perpetually ...

...then buy a dog

BUT, on the other hand, if you want someone who will never come
when you call, ignores you totally when you come home, leaves hair all over the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existence is solely to ensure his happiness ...

>Too funny...but what if the dog EATS the remote? LOL

Oh that's easy - just requires some patience - you simply have to figure out what to press on the dog to get the desired result on the tv... :p

That is so cute, and so true.

The idea is to die young as late as possible.

Haha! One of our dogs (don't know which...they both are chewers) ate the corner of our dish network remote. It worked for a while, then finally crapped out on us. Recently we had to get a new DVR and so we now have three more remotes. I wonder how long they'll last...

AND if you want a dog that appreciates every single thing you give him or her, and shows that gratitude every single day - RESCUE ONE!

(I know it's a joke, but I had to;))

Jeanine, Do you have any Danes right now? We had to put our Annie to sleep in December. She was 4.5. We have just Mufasa for now. He's just turned one and he's HUGE!!! Such a sweetie. We had hoped to get another one this summer but alas, we're expecting a real baby so next summer we'll get another dane.

Our rescue is jam-packed and we have a long incoming (waiting) list. I personally have 2 fosters and then my own. I'll have to take in another soon so he doesn't have to do shelter time.

Summer is god-awful for rescues everywhere, and with the economy the way it is........adoptions are very slow.

I'm sorry to hear about Annie. Four and a half is young and it's sad. Cancer or heart? Still, better four years with a dane than 20 with any other breed. JMO

Congrats on the new baby!

Jeanine, I wish we could take one for you now!! It's more than I want on my plate right now though. Your food bill must be outrageous!! I've never really cared about hte expense though - they are such awesome dogs! I'll never have any other breed. So many think we're crazy to have danes (esp. when we had 2 at a time) but they are the BEST with kids..... other than the occasional tail on the eye of my 4-yo. DD!! Oops! Annie had some other problems, long story. Thanks for the congrats! Where are you located? I'd love to take one off your hands!!

Okay, Jeanine! I just checked out your website with DH! Oh my!! We want Jet (fractured foot and all!) and Ginger!!! I'm in Michigan and it would be CRAZY for us to do this but oh my word!!!! Mufasa looks like the male version of Ginger, who actually looks exactly like our Annie did. Mufasa and Annie were so awesome looking together. We loved taking them out together. If you were closer I think I'd be getting a new dog this week! Do you make deliveries???:+ :p

I just emailed you privately since we have so thoroughly hi-jacked this thread....Sorry all.

Real quick though - Jet is going home Sunday (pretty sure) and we really don't do out-of-area adoptions. We don't let anyone go home without a home check and if there isn't someone we know in the area to do one......I think Great Dane Rescue, Inc. covers Michigan though.
