I had DOMS today!!!

Today I did 15 minutes on the trampoline, 3 sets of Arnold presses and Stretch Max with the band. I'm pretty sore and tight today tried to get some of it out.

Carolyn yes there's quite a bit of jumping in them. Skiing sounds fun! We're your kids on spring break already?

I've kind of been in a funk too I think it's all this cold and snow I'm ready for spring! And hormones last week weren't helping me either! :(

Saturday I did Supercuts and then did some chores and went to a baby shower. We ended up only getting about 3 inches over Saturday night. Sunday I did Get Glutes and then was lazy the rest of the day. This morning I had all intentions of getting up and working out. I couldn’t do it. Can’t seem to break out of this Monday morning funk. I would love a good excuse but the best I can come up with is that it was -9 this morning.

Amanda I did Bootcamp from the Intensity series. I like the 4DS Bootcamp too. It always makes me feel like I am a kid in gym class again.

Carolyn I hear you about being in a funk. I am just not motivated at all to do anything but sleep. I am getting 4-5 workouts in a week but I am just not feeling it like I should be.

Today I did Z strength #2 and 3x10 bicep curls with twist, 3x10 hammer curls and Cathe's crazy 8s. Then I did 3x10 kettlebell swings.

Another short intense time challenge 4 sets of 3 exercises; I had to take a couple of pauses.

Julie it was about the same here this morning; we got all the way up to 10 today yay... We only got about 4-5 inches so no where near the snow they thought we were going to get.

Oh no Carolyn couldn't sleep well?!? :( I hope you have a better night tonight. Do your kids go to school year round?

This morning I did Get Glutes. I just started month 6 on Sunday and so far the first two workouts have been crazy easy. I know I should watch what I say because the second two workouts will probably kick me until I can’t get up.

Carolyn I love Meso 2 legs! I haven’t done STS in a long time but I only did it once with Meso 1. Each time after that I skipped Meso 1 because I hated all the pushups and pullups. So glad you got better sleep.

Amanda Hmmm! You are making me want to look into these workouts. I like short and intense. I have never really been an endurance person especially when it comes to cardio.

Today I did Z cardio w/o#3 this one was 4 sets of exercises for as many rounds as possible in 10 minutes. This one was good too. the ab exercise was killer it's called an ab splitter (I think) and you do a sit up into a vsit touch your toes, then sit up and spread your legs out in a v and touch the ground in between then sit up and touch your toes and that's just 1 rep! The second round I did some regular sit ups for that part lol. Then I did 3x12 triceps extensions, cross body triceps extensions, 3x20 raised GB's and 3x15 kb swings.

Carolyn I remember my legs being sore almost all of STS! It seemed like just when I got the DOMS out it was time to do legs again!

Julie you should definitely take a look at her site-she has w/o on youtube too. They are super cheap, fun and intense; there's 12 w/o in each series and the cardio has an extra ab w/o, the strength as an extra w/o too. I ordered her abs and yoga DVD's this week they were each only $10 too.

This morning I almost slept in but before I could think twice about it I got up and started getting ready for a workout. I did Rockout Knockout this morning. I’m kind of iffy on this one. I normally like kickboxing workouts but this one just has some awkward moves and transitions. Maybe if I did it more it wouldn’t feel so awkward. It was a nice little calorie burner.

Carolyn WOW! Those were some heavy weights you were using. I hope you can walk today.

Amanda That ab move sounds killer. Not sure I would be able to do it and would probably do regular situps instead. I’ll try to checkout her YouTube site this weekend. Not sure I should do it from work.

Today I did KB swings, one leg HT and Yoga Relax.

You two both did RK today :) I like that one but there is a lot of jumping jacks my feet usually hurt afterwards...I think I need better shoes.

Yeah probably not a good idea to look at YouTube at work!

This morning I did Get Glutes. Again, this time it did not feel like much. I think I will have to add on to it or increase my weights a lot.

Carolyn Rockout does have a lot of jumping in it. You could probably keep the kickbox moves low impact but there is a fair amount of jumping jacks you would have to work around. Hope your legs are feeling better today. Now it is time to give your upper body what for!!

Amanda I have been adding in KB swings to some of the Get Glutes workouts. I have been using a 20 lb. kb but wondering if I should move up. What size do you use?

Today I did Z Strength #3, and 3 sets of Arnold presses, lateral raises, bent over delt raises, KB swings and GB.

Julie I have a 25lb KB; I just started adding in the swings and am doing 60 per night.

Sounds like GG made you super strong and now it's a cake walk!

I got my Zuzka abs and yoga today, yay! I think I'm going to try an ab w/o tomorrow.

Carolyn I bet foam rolling was a good pain today!

Ok, this morning’s Get Glutes kicked my rear into shape. I have a feeling my bum and hammies will be sore tomorrow. I think my why the other workouts were feeling “easy” was because I wasn’t going heavy enough and I was getting done in about 40 minutes. I think next time I will try going heavier and adding some conditioning moves like cardio in between the exercises or add a tabata at the end. Hmmm choices, choices.

I love kb swings for the glutes. I really feel them fire up and burn. I have been doing them for a few months now with my 20 pounder so maybe it is time to get a heavier kb. We’ll see though. I am running out room and excuses to tell my husband why I need more fitness equipment.

Saturday I did Athletic Training and then went to my mom’s to visit. Sunday I did Get Glutes and then was very lazy the rest of the day. AT really did a number on my calves. They were really sore Sunday and are still really tender today. I did not work out this morning. It was my scheduled rest day which is good because I got terrible sleep last night. I was hot and cold and hot and cold and just could not get comfortable. Really hoping I am so exhausted tonight I sleep like a baby.

Carolyn Looks like you were working your legs hard this weekend. I love how spinning can be an effective leg workout but also can help you work out the DOMS too. I hate how the weekend flies by and the week drags on.

I didn't sleep well either, my son woke me up in the middle of the night and I was off and on-I think the time change is messing me up.

Today I did Z Cardio #4, KB swings, bicep curls, hammer curls and crazy 8s. Then Andrew and I had a dance party for a few minutes :D that "Where them girls at" was on and he recognized it from Despicable Me 2 so we danced around to that and a couple of other songs.

I slept a little better than yesterday. Still not the greatest but I will take it over Sunday night. I did Get Glutes this morning and added on some kettlebell swings between exercises for intensity. Tonight they are calling for a winter storm warning from 10pm to 1pm tomorrow. Rain turning to sleet mixed with snow. Snow continuing into tomorrow with 2-5” possible accumulation. Will it ever end?!?!

Carolyn I find spinning to be just the thing after a bad night’s sleep. It doesn’t require the coordination that standing cardio or weights does. Not that it makes it easy just easier to not trip over my own feet because I am so tired.

Amanda Oh boy we all got bad sleep. I’m guessing the time change had something to do with mine but also just the normal Sunday blues and having to go back to work the next day. I love your impromptu dance party. That sounds so cute!

Today I did Z Strength #4, legs and shoulders and legs and firewalkers from Flextrain.

Same here they're calling for 4-8 inches of snow, seriously it's March now can we start having better weather! I do like that it's lighter out later :) once the nicer weather starts maybe I won't feel like hibernating so much!

This morning I did Hardstrikes and then prayed that my office would have a delayed opening or be closed completely. No such luck. By the time I left a little after 5 this morning, we had only gotten a little over 2” but the plows had not been out. Pretty sure I was driving down the center of the road most of the time. This had seriously better be the last snow for this winter. If not, I think I may have to be committed!

Amanda Hope you fared better with the weather than what they were calling for. I am with you. This lousy winter has made me envy bears.

This morning I did Get Glutes. It was tough getting up this morning. This whole week has been exhausting. I haven’t gotten the greatest sleep and then with the weather still being yucky. I guess the bright side is that Spring is officially 1 week away and the Chicago Road Trip is 3 weeks away. Some things to look forward to.

Today I did Z Cardio #5, 1 round of the ab bonus, some tricep work and GB's.

Julie did you take a look at Zuzka? I feel like I'm getting some good results lately maybe from Cathe's Jan. rotation and now Zuzka.

You must be getting so excited about the Road Trip!!! Is your husband going with you I can't remember. Do you know any other Cathletes going? I bet it's going to be awesome.

This morning I did Get Glutes. This one really kicks my butt and I love it. So happy it is Friday. I’m doing my little happy dance!!

Amanda Actually I was over on the videofitness form and read some reviews about her beginner kettlebell series. I have always been intrigued with kettlebells and from the review it sounds like people say that she is great for beginners. I haven’t checked out YouTube yet. Will try to do that this weekend. I am getting excited (and nervous) about the Road Trip. My husband is going but I told him I would only be seeing him to sleep at night. I don’t know any other cathletes going. Hoping the introvert in me lets me meet a few people.

Saturday I did Travel Fit and then ran errands and visited my parents. Sunday I did Get Glutes and then was lazy the rest of the day. I’m a little nervous saying this out loud but I think our weather is finally turning around. We are supposed to be in the 40s and 50s this week! So excited.

Carolyn Sounds like you had a fantastic vacation with your family. Oh the giant bath tub pool sounds nice and cozy. I hope you are all settle at home now and can get back to a schedule. I am a schedule person myself and have a hard time dealing with things when I get off my normal routine.
