Just wondering...who has a Bosu? how often do you use it? and do you like it?

I just got one but haven't used it yet (except playing around on it).

Just get it out for push ups. Planks, abs and squats. 1 legged squats.Tri dips..Experiment.
I just bought one too..Bicycles are alot harder on it and alot of ab exercises. Plain crunches i feel more on it. It is awesome.. I use it instead of the ball at times..It is like a big matt .. And unstable exercises..

They have always intrigued me but are so expensive IMO. My sil has one that I don't think she uses much right now. Perhaps I can borrow it from her.....}(

I just bought one in anticipation of Tracey and Amy's new series. So far I haven't done anything but play around on it yet either but it really does create a balance challenge! Of course I should note that walking also creates a balance challenge for me some days lol!:D so I think I have my work cut out for me.

I got mine after preordering Tracey and Amy's new workouts as well. I was surprised at how big it is. I thought I was going to keep it in the window seat where I keep some other workout stuff, but it was much too big.

I got mine from a seminar so I could get it at a "used" price and not pay any shipping. It has basically sat in the corner since I got it! :p

I tried it last week with high step challenge- it was great! Used it for all the cardio with step segments.

I'm too wimpy to use it for pushups most of the time. ;)

I'm very interested in them, am watching a few on ebay, but I'm with Wendy, I think they are too expensive.
Even on Ebay, once you pay shipping you are at or over $100 !!

If anyone ever finds a fantastic deal, please let me know !!
;-) :7

Becky-
My fantastic deal had me with a Bosu for $90. LOL, yup.
I was at a fitness convention and they had brought in a bunch of new Bosus to use in the classes. I signed up for one of those and got a professional discount of 10%. Since I didn't have to pay shipping, it felt like a steal!

Congrats on your new toy. I bought one last December and am so excited that Amy and Tracey are making workouts that use this equipment. I actually use it in place of the high step most of the time. I hurt my knee and can't really do leg presses anymore so I use the bosu. I have the challenge of balance and it is high enough for me. I do a lot of my knee PT exercises on it and also do a lot of my core work.

For those that don't have one that want it. You can purchase it at www.gnc.com for $93.75 with free shipping. If you search around using google you can get some 10% off coupons too. I know it still isn't cheap, but it is cheaper.

I bought one for my sister and she loves it!! She has used it a couple of times already and she really feels the workout. She has Mindy Mylrea's Awesome Strength and rented Explode Body and Bosu from Netflix and loved both workouts. I know she is looking at Amy's new one as well.

I like it, use it fairly frequently, just this morning for Tracey's Sweatfest (the weight workout). I also use it to substitute for the step on some of the intermediate workouts that I own to give them a new twist and a challenge. Seasun Zieger put out a great bosu workout as well. It's been great for pushups/plank work. There aren't a lot of DVDs specifically for it (yet) so you need to use your imagination.

Lainie - You are too CUTE (your li'l girl pic)! - I knew it was you!

I want a bosu now! I just received 3 of Tracey's dvds yesterday, including Cardio Sweatfest which uses the bosu. Let us know how much you like it. - Glad your ankle is feeling better. edie

I am feeling rather uninformed, who are Amy and Tracey? My BOSU is underutilized and I could really use some good videos.

Thanks,
Shayne

I just bought a BOSU and have been having fun with it, substituting it for a step in some of Cathe's Workouts. I have one BOSU-specific DVD of Rob Glick's, which is also a lot of fun.

As far as Cathe's workouts, I've used the Beginner Low Impact Step DVD (the 40 minute workout) and I used the BOSU on the SJP step section. That one required some modifications, but it was doable and gave the workout a whole new twist!

I also found a couple clips on youtube.com and bounced along with those.

I hope to try it with some other Cathe DVDs as well.

I have on and love it, but I don't use it as much as I should. I do have Tracey and Amy on the way, so hopefully that will help me use it more. I have the one from Seasun Zeiger and it is great. It comes on a DVD with 2 workouts. It is called Double Cardio (CIA-2604). Both workouts are really good, but only one uses the bosu.
As others have posted, the bosu definitely challenges me with core exercises.
I ordered mine from GNC awhile back. They were having a sell on them at the time (with free shipping) and I think it was only around 75.00.

I bought mine when it was on sale at Target (just bought a kettlebell there also). While I don't use my bosu as much as I would like to or had planned to, I AM glad that I own it and will not part with it. I use it for Bosu Blast, my favorite cardio workout that utilizes the bosu. I've found ways to use it for some of the cardio segments of Barry's Boot Camp. I'm excited to see that Amy is using it in this newest series which I preordered. There is a site that gives a lot of video clips of ways to use the bosu:

To the right you will see Bosu Balance Trainer. Click on the links underneath to see different exercises you can do with your bosu. The Daily Standard is one I was going to try and do regularly, but alas, I never did. Maybe I will start again!

I just used the new Bosu in place of the high step for HS Circuit. I figured I would try it with Circuit first since my ankle is still twinging a bit and I'll try it on HST or HSChallenge another time. Thanks for the suggestion, AmyG. It was really fun--like a whole new workout and it was easy to use the Bosu everywhere she uses the high step. I also used it for crunches when she was on the floor.

I get a little bored with the high step workouts so maybe this will help me enjoy them more.
