Bodybuilding/Sculpting check-in;-)

I've been reading your check-in for a few weeks. I keep wanting to "like" many of the post in this thread. I'm terrible at actually sticking with check in because of crazy schedule. But I'm jumping in just so I can like all your very motivating post

Well I've been able to start STS for the first time. I jumped right in to Meso 3 and didn't do the 1 rep max. I don't care about actual number of gain. I know what I've been lifting for 10 rep xtrain so I just push more for the upper body stuff this week. I know my failure on muscle groups except legs.

This week
Sunday Meso 3 week 1 shoulder/bi/tri
Monday Meso 3 week 1 plyo leg I enjoyed this and used heavier weights that cathe and used 4 risers for the step. The only part that at the end the one leg sit/stand was hard. I loved all contrast/leg stuff RWH legs is my favorite, xtrain cardio leg blast, lower body blast and now I've got STS plyo. :D
Tuesday Petal Power
Wed
Thur Meso 3 Squat 1 I have a squat rack and smith machine. I've been using dumbells for years. I haven't touch the heavy lower body stuff in a long time so I was really surprised.

Front squats using squat rack 90lb all 4 sets this was the only one I felt that I could of went heavier
Front squat using squat rack 65lb all 4 sets I went wide leg and deeper so it really burned
Dead lifts 80lb all 4 sets
Smith machine lunges 90lbs all 4 sets

Thanks ladies and Tom

Well my Hammer and Chisel arrived yesterday (talk about super fast shipping considering I ordered it on Tuesday)! The folks at Beachbody must have been so busy trying to get everything shipped that they forgot to put my extra "deluxe" DVD's in my box. :-( Called customer service and they said they would get those sent out to me asap. I previewed a handful of the DVD's last night and they looked pretty good! I definitely saw some challenging looking exercises on a few of them. I can't decide if I should go ahead and just start into a H&C rotation or if I should keep going on the Cathe 3-month transformation rotation I'm currently in. I've almost finished month two and I've really gotten some great results so I don't know if I want to stop early. I also know that my PINK set will be here on Monday and hopefully ICE will be shipping soon too so I can't decide what I want to jump into next! Not a bad problem to have though! LOL. :) I think I'll more than likely stick with the Cathe rotation for now because it includes a good mix of heavy weights/metabolic workouts/and good 'ol kick butt Cathe cardio. With all the yummy treats/meals that come with the holiday season all the cardio I've been doing with this rotation has been a great help. I'm not one to deprive myself this time of the year (although I try hard not go crazy with portions or completely overindulge).

Jen-I saw your question about Cathe Live. Unfortunately, I have not found a good way to quickly find out what equip is needed for each workout. I usually pick my workout from the "Live library" and then search the Cathe Live forum for Cathe's post for that workout by scrolling through until I see the date of my chosen workout. Definitely not the fastest method! Hopefully they will eventually be able to arrange the library page so that we can see full descriptions underneath each workout. That would be a huge help! Speaking of which I need to go pick out my workout for today.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Today for me was a 32 sets arm day with some abs thrown in. started with 16 sets on bi's. First was a 10 set barbell curl pyramid followed by 3 sets of dumbbell preacher curls and 3 sets of concentration curls, For tri's I started with a 10 pyramid set of skullcrushers in the 8-12 rep range, 3 sets of tricep pushdowns and finished with 3 sets of tricep pushups (feet on floor, not bench) x20x16x14.g For abs I did 3 sets of seated knee ins x30x25x20 and 5 minutes of planks. I was "torched" but it really feels good! Since My appetite has increased and I have been able to up my intake, I can really see my body changing, in a good way. I have more energy and I feel lifts are going up again. Its amazing that without adequate fuel, your body cannot respond to strength training the way we want it to!! My old adage "fry it and feed it" still holds true!! Have a great weekend everyone!!! Again, thanks for posting Cafelattee!

I haven't rcvd H&C yet! Though I did get the shipping notice--but it says it won't arrive until 12/09/15! I hope mine contains my deluxe DVDs. It is overwhelming trying to decide what to do next. I have actually created a rotation I am excited about that uses SKOGG, P90X3 + lots of yoga and barre. But I have no clue when I will be able to get to it since I want to do ICE, H&C, Weider PINK and some Cathe Live first. Plus, I have Asylum 2 I need to try out. And I want to revisit ChaLean Extreme.

And on the question I asked in the Live forum, Labnick uploaded an excellent PDF that gives all the information I need to prepare for a first viewing--the date and name of each workout, Cathe's description, the length and the equipment needed. I set up next week's Live rotation using it. It's still overwhelming--there are so many to choose from and I want to do them all! It was so hard to narrow it down to 6 workouts. At least I am locked in to a year so I don't feel like I have to rush through it.

Jodi--I know what you mean! 72 push ups burns you out before you even start lifting iron! That's what makes the GS and RwH chest workouts so brutal, I think--the sequencing of push ups!

Welcome Cafelatte!

This morning was P90X2 P.A.P. Upper + KCM Circuit Burn abs only.

I saw that .pdf, Jen after I posted this morning. That's a great resource!! Wish I had known about it sooner.

Today's workout was Solid Cardio plus Hiit from Cathe Live. It includes lots of old school moves (which I like) plus some of her newer moves from RwH so overall it was a fun and effective workout! I've been a subscriber of Cathe Live since it started, but I got in and out of phases where I include these workouts in my rotations. I'm really enjoying incorporating them into my current rotation. There are so many that I haven't tried and as I go through them I'm finding new favorites! There is a lower body one that was seriously killer that I did last week--I will definitely be incorporating that workout into my rotations in the future! I love the realism of the live workouts too--especially the "breather's" and water breaks which aren't always built into her traditional DVD workouts. I also love seeing the class "suffering" right along with me, LOL. Those ladies kick butt!

Hopefully you will have better luck getting all your H&C DVD's in your first shipment than I did, Jen. I still can't believe how quickly my box came. The customer service rep I talked to last night said they would send my replacements 2nd day air, but he also made the comment that they are almost sold out of DVD's so I hope my order is fulfilled before they run out! So far I haven't received my confirmation email so we will see. Keeping my fingers crossed!

And welcome to the group Cafelattee and DMerz! We have a great group of folks in this check-in, but be warned we may do a number on your credit card! I have bought so many new DVD's and programs because of the discussions we have in this check-in! HAHA! :)

Rest day today. My chest, triceps, and butt are so sore! Yay, lol!

Hey SarBear, what is this Cathe transformation rotation you are doing? Was it posted somewhere or did you make it up yourself? If it's posted, can you please provide a link? I'm curious!

Oh, and welcome to all the newcomers! You've picked an awesome check-in to join!

SarBear--sorry for all the questions! Do you ever have any problems getting Cathe Live to run? I'm wondering if I should always have a back up workout ready to go. My time in the mornings is limited and I want to fill the hour I allot in the mornings with working out--not struggling to get Cathe Live to work. BTW--I have not had any problems, but I've done nothing but play with it so far. Monday starts the real test.

And I am interested in this rotation too!

Hello girls and gal :) I read your posts here every day, great discussions as usual.

During the 40% discount on downloads I got: Rhythmic Step, STS Plyo Legs Disc 32 and RWH LIHI Legs. I must say, I'm very happy with the three. I currently do the first combo from Rhythmic Step as a cooldown to learn it. This way I don't feel intimidated by the choreography. The 2 contrast training workouts are perfection.

Dmerz and Caffelatte nice to meet you! I'm comparatively new in this check in, but I ensure you - it is the best one, and it is addictive ;)
Jodi - GS Chest & Triceps is super tough to me! I usually end up using 7 lbs to finish the inclined chest presses :)
Sar Bear so good to see you back. You and Jen - enjoy your Hammer & Chisel workouts!
Nathalie - interesting question if some ladies are getting obsessed about building the glute muscle. I personally do not want a rock-hard butt just a tighter one than the average non-exercising butt. I think a woman's best seat is tight but has little jiggle ;)
Tom - my husband is 42 years old. He is genetically predisposed to gain weight and has big appetite . He builds muscle very fast and is naturally very strong - especially his upper body. Even when he weighted 160 kgs, he could do pushups on his toes!
I achieved my first "real" push up after 1 year of regular exercise. My weight is 54-56 kgs :)
Jen - alike you, I achieved my best ever fitness result with my first exercise DVD - Cindy Crawford's The Next Challenge. Before doing it, I only practiced Pilates to avoid spinal surgery. I never was a sporty person. Always the last one to get picked up at Physical Education class.
The Next Challenge made crazy sore every muscle of my body. I had DOMS for weeks .I never skipped a day working out. After 3 weeks, my jeans were loose around the waist. I was happy and surprised: I finally had waist! Now it is habit for a lifetime. I don't workout because I have to, I do it because I love it :)

My check in
Saturday - RWH Legs, STS Plyo #32 Doubles - Xtrain Chest Shoulders Back
Sunday - Afterburn Doubles - Cardio Supersets
Monday - X 10 Low Impact and the abs segments from Flex Train and Turbo Barre
Tuesday - Drill Max (cardio only), KCM Body Shop - Compound moves, KCM Plateau Buster - Dumbbells only premix
Wednesday - KCM Shape Up (cardio premix), Trim Down (dumbbells premix) Doubles - KCM Body Training (w/0 #1)
Yesterday- Turbo Hiit 15, Xtrain AOLIH Doubles - KCM Weights (Back, Chest, Legs)
Today - Xtrain Supercuts, part of Rhythmic Step Doubles - KCM Lift (Power Sculpt)

Warm regards to all of you,

Welcome @Cafelattee Monday plyo, Tuesday Pedal power:rolleyes::rolleyes:--- I knew you were not talking about flower as quoted above LOL --typo.
Blank wednesday --- That says it all:);) Smith machine...That is good "toy" to have around. Great workout. Seems like
you have had fun.

Nathalie - interesting question if some ladies are getting obsessed about building the glute muscle. I personally do not want a rock-hard butt just a tighter one than the average non-exercising butt. I think a woman's best seat is tight but has little jiggle ;)

Unless there is an implant inserted, a pair of glute always look a little bit soft/jiggly when it is not flexed i.e not contracted.
I personnally just focus on working it twice per week and I am not worried about gaining anything looking rock-hard
as a stone. It is just not going to happen

Even figure competitor's glute don't look rock-hard unflexed;);) In fact ladies who consistently workout at home can gain
a fit compact strong glute. I am not aiming for any huge mass!! I strive for balance--- Symetry with upper body and my leg.
I am not striving for skinny legs---big butt look, even though it is the ideal figure for some!:):)
See picture below. Left;)

Ok May be l should post a picture of myself wearing my workout legging at some point. I am not flat Lol but compact enough to balance out my current physique:p:p:p It is compact enough to not make me feel insecure or bad about myself --- Unhappy! I know now I have gained more strength in my glute. Yesterday I picked up a 7kg dumbbell, contracted instinctly my abs and I felt the work ---my glute did the work pulling the weight to lift myself up and tidy up all my equipment --- Just an anedocte:):) And It was not even leg day.

As to obsession it is relative!

Today is a well earned rest day for me.

Jen-I think there has only been one time that I've had trouble getting a Live workout to run correctly. I think it just depends on your internet service though. Ours, thankfully, has been pretty reliable so I haven't run into many issues doing Cathe live.

Jodi-the rotation I am doing is one of Cathe's making. It's from back in 2012. A link to it popped up in the forums a couple months ago and I decided to give it a shot because it uses STS workouts in a way I have done before. I've always done STS as it was originally laid out. This rotation has you jumping around from Meso to Meso every week--keeping your muscles surprised for sure! Here's a link to the rotation. I'm currently doing the 3-month version. I've been subbing Cathe Live workouts in for some of the LIS workouts for some added fun and variety.

http://cathe.com/forum/threads/january-2012-double-rotation.287356/

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

This morning was STS #40 Squat Rack Legs + BB hip thrusts 4x10 w/ 90#. And thus ends round 3 of STS for me. Those hip thrusts with a 90# barbell were brutal. I have been doing 4x12 until this morning and I could only do 10 reps w/ 90#. And the 4th and final set? I honestly did not know if I was going to get that barbell off my hips and back onto the rack! But I did! My glutes are sore already. Plus the past 4 hours I've been hauling limps to the curb while my husband chainsawed them. Our house was hit the hardest in the neighborhood. I am not exaggerating. We drove around and some people had a lot of damage but no one in the neighborhood was close to our war zone. Now--other towns and neighborhoods had worse damage than us. The city is sending people around next week then again 2 weeks after that to gather haul off the branches. Everyone else in our neighborhood has 1-2 huge piles. So far? We have 4 enormous piles. And we still aren't finished.

Anyway! Clean up is a workout, too! After deadlifting 120# this morning, I was feeling it in my lower back!

Svletlana--looks like you got some awesome deals at Cathe's sale. I could have sworn I read a post of yours that you were stressed about the turmoil with you daughter but now I can't find the post. Still, I really hope things improve and you are able to get everything worked out. My thoughts are with you!

SarBear--thanks for sharing the rotation. I'll have to check it out.

Nathalie--I didn't do the glute focused rotation because I am looking for a bubble butt either. But I am genetically predisposed to have a flat a$$. I passed that "gift" on to my oldest daughter. The youngest inherited her father's bubble butt. But I did want to fill my bum out a bit and after 14 weeks, I think it worked! My husband thinks it worked! Still no bubble butt tho! But it is a little firmer and a little rounder--and much stronger. But as I frequently mention--I am bad about doing the work in the kitchen, so there is definitely still some squish to it, too!

SarBear, thanks for the link. I will definitely check it out.

Today was a repeat of last Saturday...a long walk uphill on the treadmill while listening to Adele. I just can't stop listening to her new music!

I've done GS numerous times, and I don't remember ever being as sore as I am this time around. I can barely straighten my arms, my triceps are still so sensitive! And I can still feel every muscle in my chest area. Now, I'm now complaining :D:D, but I'm wondering why the DOMS are so much worse this time.

I have seen your picture standing close to your outdoor bike and I think you are pretty much close to a bubble butt.
What did you do during those 14 weeks? EBE2? That said, Yes it does work.

Greetings All,

Week 3 Xtrain Rotation

Day 1 Xtrain Ride Premix 2
Day 2 Rockout Knockout
Day 3 Xtrain Burn Sets- Chest, Shoulders, Back
Day 4 Xtrain Legs- Floor Only
Day 5 Rest
Day 6 Xtrain All Out Low Impact Hiit- Double Floor

i have to say it again I love Rockout Knockout. The music and cueing are superb. Cathe really did a great job with this one. It's a great calorie burner, even with modifications. I subbed Cardio Leg Blast with Ride. Sometimes my body says no to high impact so I listen.

Took my measurements this morning and I've lost one inch in my chest. I really credit burn sets. My chest really does tighten and gets smaller when I life heavy. Diet was pretty good this week.

Can't wait to receive ICE, excited about the rotations.

I hope everyone had a great workout week.

Today's workout was Lower Body Blast, the long premix which includes the barre bonus. I haven't done this workout in a very long time, and I could kick myself for it. Well, I would if I could move my legs...they are sore already! :p:D This workout has a little bit of everything to burn your legs out, and it works! I will not let this one collect dust again.
