Bodybuilding/Sculpting check-in;-)

Yesterday was Slo-Mo Back & Shoulders and doubles was KCM's Split Sessions Lower. This morning was Cathe's Intensity and planned doubles is PeakFit Dynamic Flexibility.

Nathalie--I am definitely going to find a way to work in Power Hour soon--then do it at least twice, close together! It looks like you are doing some great workouts this week! I am really jonesing for some Cathe workouts. I have actually already slated High Reps for next week. It has been years since I did that one. Again, don't know why I haven't been back to it sooner except I own an excessive amount of workout DVDs.

Thanks for the great suggestions ladies! I went ahead and ordered Mark's YAYOG this morning. I may even get Ruthless as well, but I want to wait and preview YAYOG before I make yet another DVD purchase. My workout library is so large as it is! haha.

Yesterday I did my first workout with the Workout Blender and I absolutely loved it!!!! Here is the rotation I am following this week courtesy of fellow forum user FitnessFreak:

WEEK 1
Day 1: GS Chest: 72 pushups; S&H Chest only, skip pushups; GS Chest only, do not do the close grip presses; IMAX 3 step only.
Day 2: S&H Triceps only, no dips; GS Triceps only; 10-10-10 cardio only.
Day 3: S&H Back Only, double arm rows & pullovers only; GS Back only, entire section; S&H Back, Superman's, Prone & Supine Planks; IMAX 2.
Day 4: S&H Shoulders only; GS Shoulders only; Muscle Endurance Abs.
Day 5: S&H Biceps only; GS Biceps only; Cardio & Weights Step premix only.
Day 6: REST!!!
Day 7: Legs

The entire rotation can be found here http://cathe.com/forum/threads/another-strength-rotation.236115/

Because my chest was still sore from Saturday's Slo Mo workout, I opted to start with Day 2's Tricep workout yesterday. You ladies know that fire/pump I'm always going on about after I do a RwH lift workout--well this rotation is delivering that same oh so good, but it hurts feeling and I love it! I loved the combination of S&H and then going into Gym Styles. With warmup and cool down that's over 50+ plus minutes of tricep work!!! My triceps were toast the rest of the day! I didn't do the cardio listed, but I did come home and rebound for about 30 minutes to get the rest of my steps for the day.

Today I went back and did Day 1's chest workout and HOLY BENCH PRESS was that an AWESOME workout!! Starting with those 72 push ups from Gym Style and then going straight into S&H was crazy, but in a good way! By the time I got to the rest of the GS chest work my chest muscles were so toasted that I had to lower my weights to keep good form. I can feel the DOMs already setting in!

I am absolutely loving the new workout blender! It's definitely worth the cost of paying for the OnDemand service (even for someone like me that owns nearly all of Cathe's workouts on DVD already). The rotation I'm currently following is from several years ago, so it's pulling workout sections from some of Cathe's "older" videos that I haven't done in awhile so I'm definitely loving that aspect! I get even more excited when I think about all the workouts that Cathe has produced since this rotation was put together and all the fun combinations of weight work that I'll be able to come up with using the blender (Xtrain, STS, RwH, etc.)!!! It'll be even more fun once they release the next update which is supposed to allow users to share custom workouts with one another.

Due to my ever changing schedule I'm not following the cardio from this rotation so I will have to find some ways to get some additional cardio in this week. While I love my weights, I don't want to ignore cardio completely. I also like to take my rest day on a week day so I'll be shuffling the rotation around to fit my needs. Tomorrow will most likely be a rest day. I have a feeling, I'll need it after today's chest workout!

Today I did All Out Low Impact HiiT. Even though I haven't done this one in awhile, I could probably do it in my sleep. This is the DVD that started my Cathe obsession! I had been looking for a new cardio workout and this one had good reviews on Collage. I fell in love immediately! I loved Cathe's spirit, the workout was fun, I loved the music...for weeks it was the only cardio workout I did. I decided I wanted to know more about the XTrain workouts so I went searching for more thorough reviews of the DVDs. Enter Jen's blog!! From there, the Cathe purchases kept coming...I was and am hooked!

Oh, I also did another segment from Gorgeous Core. Let's just say that's 12 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Ugh.

This morning was Slo-Mo Legs. OMG--it did not get any easier the second time. Harder because I increased my weights for some of the exercises. My glutes, hamstrings and quads are still burning! I have honestly never done anything like this workout before. Nothing has ever hit my legs like this workout. I feel that way about Chest, Bi's & Tri's, too--well, that one isn't the best I've ever done, but it is excellent. Back & Shoulders is good, but I think Amy Bento fails on back work. It's pretty weak in both Slo-Mo and Drop Set. I think in the future I will substitute Body Beast Back or a Cathe back segment for Amy's Slo-Mo back segment. Her shoulder work is good tho.

Planned doubles is KCM Trim Down #1.

SarBear--so jealous of your workout blender fun! I have to wait. I am definitely going to sign up tho--but I have to wait until the workout room TV has it's own Apple TV. Do you have access to ALL of Cathe's workout when you sign up? I don't have to buy digital copies of each workout I want to use--or do I?

Jodi--I love AOLIH, too! I'm so glad my blog is helpful to people! I know it is helpful to me--especially lately. I'm trying revisit some Cathe and KCM workouts and it is deifnitely helping me with rotation planning. But Slo-Mo is throwing a wrench in the mix. Ever time I do that Leg workout I think to myself--how can I NOT keep returning to this workout? I have never felt anything like it. Never. Makes it hard to plan rotations. I love ALL of Cathe's lower body workouts and think they are awesome and effective. But they are not Slo-Mo Legs. QUANDRY!

What is Gorgeous Core?

This morning I did High Reps Upper Body. I had 3 rest days before today - my other knee has been sore (why me?!) and I had some bad sleep nights, ughh.

SarBear, that rotation looks hardcore. I believe I have that copied in my folder for someday. Perfectly mixed with Workout Blender sounds awesome. In my case using DVD's - not so great. :p I'm not even going to look at the WB tutorial/clip, nope, not going there... sounds too good to resist.

Nathalie, STS in the fall. I'm counting on it. :D

I got my Barre3 set today. It's missing one of the DVDs and has 2 of another DVD so I'm sending it back for a replacement.

Today was a much needed rest day for me. My chest muscles were screaming at me today after yesterday's workout. Can't wait for another good workout tomorrow!

And yes Jen, when you sign up for the OnDemand service you have access to the entire Cathe library making the new WB so much fun. Like you, I always bought the DVD versions of her workouts and not the digital copies so I am thankful the OnDemand service includes the entire library. And you get her weekly live workouts too, which is also a nice bonus! You are going to love it! Don't blame you for wanting to wait until you have the new Apple TV in your workout room though.

Mary-so sorry to hear that your other knee is sore. Sending you lots of well wishes and good vibes that you start feeling better asap!

Today I did Leah Sarago's Ballet Body Total Body workout for the first time. Good workout. I like her lower body one better just because it does focus on only the lower body, but this one is good for a barre total body workout. It has lots of different moves in it, and while I didn't think the leg section was that tough, my butt is feeling sore at the moment.

Jen, Gorgeous Core is a DVD from Suzanne Bowen with several short core workouts on it. It was billed as intermediate-advanced, but the two segments I've done so far have been more like for beginners. Luckily, I got it very cheaply, otherwise I would be very unhappy.

Hello! This morning was Slo-Mo Chest, Biceps & Triceps + Core. My muscles were again trembling violently through thos workout. What a killer! Planned doubles is KCM Stepboxing #1.

Mary--Hope your knee is doing better today after some rest. And ice and heat?

SarBear--that is a relief! If I had to also buy the digital versions I wouldn't have done it. But now I get everything PLUS her live workouts?!?! OMG! I can't wait until that new Apple TV is released!

Today was Slo Mo Back & Shoulders. I'm not a fan of the one arm pullovers so I substituted one arm lying reverse flies. I had read that they are one of the three best back exercises to do to improve back strength for pull ups. And boy, what a difference that change made! I am really feeling my back right now.

To SarBear;);) You are a Hardcore tamer:)

This is a courtesy indeed from fellow cathlete lol.Did you manage to blend all this from the online blender?:p:p:p:p
I will join you blender folks online later. My system is not up to the point. Not sure if it's my internet connection.
I have just realised this rotation is actually a one body part per day rotation:eek::oops::oops:.
I have been considering one body part per day for a while!
oh well I will tweak this one and plus will eventually design another one:):):).

Nathalie--I think you would love this rotation! :) Yes, I've been doing it all via the online blender, but this would one would easy enough to do with just the DVD's too. I'm loving training one body per day.

Yesterday was biceps and today is back! Love the pump from this rotation! I will definitely revisit this week's rotation more often in the future. My muscles are getting such a great workout!

Enjoy the pump---I will surely do this rotation. Thanks to fitnessfreak for sharing this.
This rotation is inspiring me! We shall discuss about this rotation for sure;):):)

This morning was Kick, Punch & Crunch. I love that workout. I always forget how much I love it until I do it again. I felt it in my legs more than usual this morning (and now) but I'm sure that is because Slo-Mo fries my legs. Which leads me to Nathalie--YES I think you would love Slo-Mo. Definitely one of the best non-Cathe strength workouts I've ever done. The Chest, Bi's & Tris is as challenging as Cathe's most difficult workouts and, IMHO, Slo-Mo Legs is the hardest lower body workout I have ever done. Would fit well into any strength rotation. Definitely worth adding to any solid strength collection.

I did it. I bougth more Amy Bento workouts--all used, one for 1 cent! Plus S&H of course. I got All Pump Extreme (which as it turns out is another pure strength workout), A-Team Bootcamp (this one was 1 cent, or I probably would have held off), Kettlebell Dynamics and KB2 (this looks like what I was hoping for when I bought Kettlebell Kickboxing). So we'll see! I'm always interested in kickboxing workouts but hers have gotten mixed reviews--some people say they are overly complicated. So we'll see what I think of the kickboxing in KB2 before I venture into Amy's kickboxing workouts.

This morning was TTM Extreme premix and yesterday I did High Step Training. I also received my KCM pre-order yesterday! Her new workouts look awesome! I can't want to try them--I plan to fit them in by the end of the month.

Yesterday I did my blender workout of S&H/GS shoulders. Totally fried my shoulders!!! Today it was time to do legs and squeeze in some cardio so I did Cathe's live workout from last week "Cross train lower body". It was exactly what I was looking for...leg work with some cardio thrown in for good measure. Afterwards, I walked a mile on the treadmill just to help stretch out my legs (and get some extra steps in).

I'm dying to start making some of my own strength workouts with the blender, but I also enjoyed last week's workouts so much that I kind of want to continue with the rotation. If I continue with the rotation, next week combines PUB and Pure Strength, working one body part per day like I did this week. I haven't done either of those workouts in quite awhile so I may stick with the rotation and just give it a shot! Oh decisions, decisions! :)

Hello Ladies,

To Sarbear: I have just read your comment on successful de-bulk. If you find it difficult to gain muscle, why not carry on sticking
with this rotation. You could try and see what you might get from it.

As far as checking in go, Yesterday I had an unscheduled rest day, Today was the main program from Athletic training.
Reviewing my rotation, I have just realised I put high reps segment and athletic training within a week.
Today during triceps exercise I thought what came onto me lining up both. Boys those partials lol:eek::eek:

To Jen: TTM xtreme prmx, sounds like you are still having strategic Hiit sessions.:):)
Looking forward to your review on KCM new stuff:)

To Mary: Hope your knee is getting better.

To Catwoman: Heavy bag MMA...You must have felt well accomplished!:)

I have a doctor appointment tomorrow. Will check soon.

Good week to you all;)
