Better gas up........

Same thing here (New England). I saw $2.80 yesterday when everywhere else was $2.65 and I thought, yeah right no one's going to get gas there! $2.80 is the lowest price today, everywhere else is $2.90... It doesn't seem right that they can just up the price so drastically, I always thought that they couldn't change the price until they got a new shipment (?)

Thanks for the reminder---DH filled up last night for $2.51 & this morning called me from work to tell me the prices were $3.02 at a station he passed by this morning! I don't understand this. The gas that is in the pump was refined BEFORE Katrina, why the heck should it go up TODAY?

This am it was $2.59 and as of 12:30 it is now $2.75. I"m sure it will be $3.00+ by the weekend. :-(

My car takes premium. It was $2.79 last night and up to $2.89 this morning.

Hi Anne,
I think individuals from other countries will make donations, but I don't think other "governments" will officially offer help. I don't see any other country stepping up to the plate so far. But that's okay. I'm proud to be from the most generous country on earth!

I'm in Princeton (central MN, about an hour north of the cities)...$2.54 yesterday early afternoon, $2.69 at the same station about 4 hours later, and this morning it was $2.79...Crazy!!

Bush is moving his butt on this so not sure what you'd like him to do.
Gosh, I cannot wait to hear the outcry about how other countries are being stingy about relief money sent to La. I wonder if we'll hear that like we did about our country during the tsunami thing? Even though we went way beyond the call of duty in that situation. I seriously doubt we will hear anything bad about other countries' donations. I also doubt we'll see a whole bunch of help either.
Gas is getting expensive. One thing that could be done is to temporarily stop taxing it. I personally do not want to see our oil reserve used just to save us what amounts to a few pennies. That "solution" never works.
Maybe this will change some people's minds about building some new refineries and doing that in conjunction with working to reduce our oil dependance. The last 25 years of enviro wackiness is coming back to roost.

I just returned from an errand. The posted price for a gallon of regular is $3.10 at the local Speedway. While out, I heard a report on the radio that some Miami Valley gas stations are running out. Folks, you better settle in. I think it's going to get a whole lot worse before it gets any better.
