Best way to burn fat?

Hi Dani,

The metabolic circuit I posted was the second link above:

http://www.figureathlete.com/free_online_article/training/get_off_the_treadmill_an

It was an intense workout! I set up my Gym Boss to beep after each minute, and it worked great!

I hope you like your Gym Boss! :)

Sorry Leanne... I did miss that... got so excited about the timer part... I just looked at the workouts... Holy CRAP BATMAN!!! i think i'll save those for a rainy day... next year... when i'm older... I don't think i'm quote at that level yet... I have DOMS just looking at the pictures!!! I'll stick to bodybuilding.com for now as you can adjust the amount you are lifting... but at least in a few months i'll have something to look forward to

thanks again!

LOL, Dani! :p Yes, the workout was SUPER intense, but really fun! I'm definitely feeling it today . . . .

Connie, glad to help! Kariev actually posted the first article last week, and then I kept monitoring the figureathlete.com website for the release of the second article. It's really interesting, huh? The author, Rachel Cosgrove, said that she's working on a third article that lays out her exact eight-week plan for losing the weight after her Ironman, but it's not posted yet . . . . I'll post something here as soon as it goes up, if you're interested! :)

Leanne: I too am really anxious to see Rachel post her post-Ironman routine. I can't deny what a difference there was in her body in the before and after shots! Just goes to show you the different results that can happen depending on your goal.

I am a little puzzled by the fact that she did kettlebells on days following her weight days--my muscles went sore just reading that LOL. But clearly it worked for her! Curious to know how many calories she went down to after her Ironman training was over. My nutritionist has me eating 2000-2200 calories during my training (I take it down to 1800-1900 so I can TRY to lose some of this fat before my marathon is over, but calorie deficit or no, my body still seems to want to stubbornly hold on to this fat LOL), so it'll be a tough adjustment for me to go back down to 1500-1600 when I'm doing my "normal" workouts of 45-60 min cardio 3x/week and strength 2-3x/week.

On a side note, I was traveling this week and didn't want to run on the hotel treadmill, so I did Cardio Coach V1 and OMG! What a workout! I'm ashamed to say I couldn't even make it to the optional third challenge because I was gasping for air by the time the second challenge (the sprints, if I recall correctly?) was done. Damn, no wonder people love CC so much! I think I'm hooked!

Hi Jennifermaria! I know -- it'll be interesting to see exactly what Rachel did to achieve that look! LOL about CC, too -- I had the same experience two weeks ago when I did the Vol. 1 for the first time. I thought that I was in good shape from doing Cathe, but boy did that workout kick my rear end! Keep us posted on your marathon! :)
